How do I get over an infatuation quickly? I've sorta fallen for one of my friends and we will never ever be together so this is most unwelcome

>can't sleep through the night if at all
>hungry all the time but can barely eat
>think about her from morning to night
>suddenly checking my phone hoping she texts or calls
>way too much sexual energy
>sudden urge to listen to and SING love songs
>still able to keep my cool around her for now but I'm feeling self conscious and hyperaware of how she responds to me when before I couldn't give less of a fuck

It was fun briefly and I've loved the energy and sudden motivation to improve myself, but my feelings and physiology is all over the place and I'm over it. What do? I've tried reducing my contact and face time with her to the bare minimums which worked at first but increasingly the more time I spend away from her the more anxiety and general discomfort I feel, like I'm withdrawing from a substance. Usually when I like a girl this much I fuck it up and they extricate themselves from my life but this is a new one. I'm averaging like 4 hrs of sleep and have almost gotten into auto accidents.

First try with her (unless she really can't be with you, ie married), if that fails, then cut contact. It's hard but you move on.

I'm not OP, but... surely there's another way? I'm suffering from a lot of the same symptoms as OP, but I don't want to forget about this person.
That said, for me, I've not seen the girl I've grown fond of in over a month, not texted her in equally as long. If cutting contact is the only way, how long does it take?

Depends on the person, I had it bad when I was younger, probably took half a year when I was younger.

It will come to pass, like everything. Like life itself.

I'm feeling similar, anon. You're right, it's like what I imagine substance withdrawal is. We're having a call tonight, so I might make my feelings known if it goes well. I've had this feeling before, but this time the girl seems genuinely interested in talking with me, hopefully as more than a friend.

You never become infatuated to begin with.
Control your fucking emotions you spastic. Don't let your love become larger than you want it to be.
