I'm a 20yo male living in Tacoland (Mexico), currently in college (engineering). The new administration just started and things don't look good, we've been in a shortage of fuel for almost a week, with 3+ hours wait time to just get 20L limited per car, over 70% of gas stations are out of service. Things are getting more expensive and inflation rates are expected to accelerate. I live in a big city, one of the main ones. The administration doesn't know when this will end, and they keep denying that there's a shortage, saying "there's no such queues for gas". It feels like Orwell's 1984.Should I start considering moving to another country? I know it sound very premature/dramatic, but I don't want to be here if shit hits the fan.Tips?
Mexican here. Go and flee from the country. We need less weaklings like you in here.Pd: There is no such thing as a real shortage. Just people panicking over shit that saw on facebook that just contributes to the problem.
>>20452084As I understand is this, same shit happened when the last big hurricane hit Houston, some refineries were in danger, people started spreading the rumors that there was gonna be a shortage and began buying gas all at once, turns out there should had never been a shortage if people hadn't panicked and just went at their leisure
>>20451956Come to America bro. We love illegal hispanics here
>>20451956Why are you blaming this on your government?
>>20452222Checked We’re full, go to Canada
>>20451956Come to the states, Mexibro. You already speak english and are studying to be an engineer. I see no reason to deny you. Just finish your degree and immigrate legally.
>>20451956Have you heard of brain drain? If you feel loyalty or pride for your country on some level and want it to be better then put up with it and stay and try to make it a better place. If not, then yes, consider leaving.
>>20452084"Weakling" lmao. They're trying to distribute fuel in trucks, they're being stolen and that method costs 14x times more than using pipes. Gas prices are still the same because the gvt is absorbing the distribution costs and we will end up paying that. There is a shortage, I've been waking up at 2-3 am to drive 20-30 km to wait 1-2 or even 3 hours to get some fuel because the family business needs gas to operate. This will make inflation rates go up in a stupid way and certain cities are not getting food because they can't deliver it and it's getting more exprnsive. Money loss are being evaluated in 1,000+ millions of pesos just this week in my state, and we're supossed to hold this for at least 3 weeks more. I'm sure you must be so proud of your country, one of the most stupid things in the world.
>>20452244We distribute fuel on pipes than run across the country, some people tamper them and steal lots of fuel. The new administration decided to reduce the imports of fuel and close all pipes to stop the stealling. Most states have only 3-4 days of inventory in case fuel stops coming. Now they're using trucks to ship the fuel, they still get stolen and they're 14x times more expensive than the pipes. They don't know when this will end, in some states even food distribution is taking a hit and prices are going up for basic vegetables. I'm pretty sure I didn't caused this.
>>20452679Nope but I think national pride is one of the most stupid things in the world, I like my country but i'm in no way entitled to stay here and risk my life just because I had the random casualty to exist here. I want it to be better but I don't have any power position here, my only way of doing something is collaboration with ONG's and voting, that depends on what the majority wants, considering that last elections people voted for the opposite thing of the previous administration out of anger and hate, I think I don't have a lot of things to do in order to improve it.
