The only interesting plotline in this show is the one where they converted an NPC into an immortal player somehow. I was interested to find out what the implications of that would be for the world but then they dropped it entirely to do more notice me senpai trash.

It's a title. Theoretically anyone can give anyone a title. Obviously it only matters if others acknowledge that title. Problem for The implication is however that if Akiba was to oppose this appointment, they'd be going against an entire kingdom. Acts against "the duke" could probably even be construed as an act of war against the kingdom.
It isn't diplomatically acceptable at all of course but that seems to be part of the point. Way I see it, they're definitely out for conflict in one way or another.

Actually it is and does.
They went over this in previous seasons that people in opposite gender avatars from their real life gender were having changing characteristics that more closely matches their avatar.
ie a male player in a female avatar might have had a lower voice when first arriving, but later on their voice changed to be more feminine.

Their IRL biological gender faculties are changing to become more like their avatars.

Depends. If I like the direction the Round Table Council is going, I'd announce a temporary leave of absence while I sort out issues with my guild. Sorting the guild would probably require restructuring it, maybe even splitting it up, which runs the risk of diminishing Honesty's prominence in Akiba, but it would depend a lot on how the split up was organized. Ideally the newly formed guilds would remain affiliated with Honesty and under its umbrella, but with enough autonomy to better look after their guild members.

If I don't like the way the Council is going and think they are not properly managing the resources of Akiba, I would probably do something similar to Eins and make a power play to secure the funding and authority to correct course.

>>214484815
Eins's guild feels like the Hufflepuff of the lot, they got all the people that weren't particularly good at anything. They're not savvy traders, they're not skilled fighters, not particularly good at organizing and strategizing either, and don't have any year-1 veteran players who can coast by just on their years and years of accrued wealth, gear, and experience.

Eins himself seems like a guy who rose to prominence just by being nice and personable especially to newer and lower level casual players. His guild got huge because they had no real standards for joining and just wanted to create a massive community. Now they're paying the price for that in a world where skill in the game actually means something.
>>
>>214484143
Still one of the guild with the biggest numbers and filled with gullible idiots instead of a bunch of warriors like DDD, it's all about influence really.
>>
>>214484815
>>214484934
My guess is that Eins couldn't answer because he would have to admit that his members became lazy, unless he has other motivations.
>>214484965
He clearly wanted to avoid the taxation thing, yeah. That was a good argument, rhetorically speaking.
>>214484701
Splitting the guild might be the best solution there, since the main issue is the integration of their members.
>>
>>214484934
He wants there to be an actual government that takes care of people. He mistakenly believed the Council was a government and that the assignments people volunteered for were government projects, meaning he thought they'd be funded from a collective pool of money taken from the constituent members of the Council. Instead, what it actually is, is a voluntary association of the most influential guilds in Akiba, and the expectation was that anybody who volunteered to take on work would have the means to undertake that work with their available resources. Essentially, Eins believed that the Council would babysit his project and his guild to make sure it got finished, but from the Council's perspective, Eins volunteered to do a task and it became his business after that and there was no obligation for anybody else to help him out because he never bothered to negotiate a deal with anybody for help.
>>
>>214484965
He's a merchant, he hates anyone that will try to take his beloved gold from him, and while he was being a smug cunt there he's right, being scared of fighting isn't an excuse to be a bum.
>>
>>214484143
NPCs dont understand the meta or how levels work. Remember, they gained sentience around a year ago and their memories, personalities, military doctrines etc are all based on hack writing in the fluff by some gook slaves paid by the line
>>
>>214485654
He was also obviously implying that Eins had to offer some kind of deal in order to get money, but Eins is either too dense or just unwilling to negotiate.
>>

>>
>>214476193
Why wear glasses in a simulation?
>>
>>214484143
Not terribly surprising, if the goal is simply the destabilization of Akiba, that'll do it. In fact he's probably the best choice, easy to manipulate. Gotta remember from the perspective of the lander aristocracy, these adventurer upstarts are a bunch of commoner nobodies pretending at playing house. They're good for nothing but quests to kill dragons for a soldier's pay of bread crusts and wine.
>>
>>214482766
They probably see guild leaders as equivalent to dukes, so if a guild leader were to join their kingdom and submit to their rule, they would adjust his title to their version. The real question is whether they'll consider only his guild to be their subjects or the entire city to be their territory. Either way, though, they're just accepting an independent organization's offer to join them.
>>
>>214485801
So they have something to adjust.
>>
>>214485801
How else would you adjust them to show your enemies that you've foreseen all of their actions and crippled their entire organization only moments before?
>>
>>214485766
my guess is something related to the fairy rings
>>
>>214481888
Question seems irrelevant because I don't think Tetra would give you a choice on the matter. If she wants to literally live inside your shirt with her face stuck on your crotch 24/7 you couldn't stop her.
>>
>>214485600
>Splitting the guild might be the best solution there, since the main issue is the integration of their members.
From the perspective of the Council, sure, but keep in mind that Honesty is an organization with its own standing to consider. The personal ambition of its leadership aside, you have to think about if splitting up Honesty is going to help or hurt the guild in the long run when you take a look at its assets and what it has for negotiating power in the Council. Remember that the Council isn't really a governing body, and members of it have to cut deals with one another in give and take. Honesty doesn't specialize the way other guilds do so their size is one of their only real advantages.

>end of their right hairlock is drawn over the forearm
>>
>>214485757

I feel that Eins doesn't have money at all and that's one of the reasons why he's so desperate to help those in need, you can only take care of lazy people for so long after all and on top of that his fairy ring project wasn't going good, it's no wonder that nobody likes that clan.

Yeah that's my point. The merchant guy has money, and his guildmates have money, but it's not money that the council has access to because it belongs to individual investors. By talking about this openly, merchant guy is essentially saying that side hustles for acquiring money are A-OK. Yet Eins doesn't pick up on this and instead keeps talking about getting money from the Council. What Shiroe would have done in his place is cut a deal with the merchant guy and other wealthy investors for funding in exchange for some kind of service. He doesn't have money, but he does have a massive amount of moderately leveled adventurers, i.e. a low skilled work force.

>dependant on charity
The thing is this part doesn't even make sense though, one of the first things that Shiroe notes shortly after getting back from rescuing Serara that one of the biggest problems that the world has is that basic survival is too easy, you can do it on a couple of coins a day which requires almost no work, living good does require some work however. Which leads us to Eins who outright mentions job satisfaction, his people don't want to survive they literally want to screw around and have fun but are too lazy to actually do it themselves, it's actually pretty representative of a common problem in mmo's and gaming in general where people don't want to actual play the game but still want to be top tier with people who do put in time, they want everything spoonfed to them so they can feel some sort of accomplishment without taking any action.

I think part of the problem that the anime forgot to mention is that many of Honest's members and a few others don't wanna go adventuring in the new setting since it's actually pretty scary and they might lose precious memories. Or they just suck at fighting with their real bodies. Because of that they also can't get the really good mounts from raids etc. so I guess delivery is also out of the window.

They still get by, because you can easily get by as an adventurer, but they get incredibly depressed in the process.

Nhk censoring blood and shits tend to make anons forget that fighting shit for real is actually pretty scary for some adventurers.

It always happens because there's always eventually a wall that casual players can't get over. There's always a divide in MMOs between people who sink time into it and people who play casually. Once the rewards for the hardcore players start to become highly visible, the casuals start to get uppity and envious.

That wouldn't really have stopped Shiroe, he would've just given them an ultimatum: get a job or get out of the guild. But he's not nearly as nice as Eins.
>>
>>214485043
Is Honesty just a realistic take on what would happen to one of those "welcome" guilds that encourage new players to join and learn the ropes?
>>
>>214486978
Yes that's what it seems to be. LH's author is clearly very familiar with MMOs and the kind of communities they have, so this kind of fidelity to real life group dynamics in the games isn't surprising.
>>
>>214486950
Knowing Shiroe he would have slowly put all the members on situations where they either swim or sink or just put them in a place where they can motivate themselves so I doubt he would have reached that point at all.
>>
>>214486827
In NA, New York/Big Apple fell into complete chaos once the knowledge of thegood cooking method spread.
In Germany (which is part of the Scandinavian server), the Walled City of Hoen was the site of a massive civil war between two major guilds. They made peace after Kanami wandered into there and kicked their collectives asses into no longer being dicks to each other
>>
>>214486906
Modern gaming's obsession with time limited rewards also cause it, nothing to rile the player base up like telling them they only have a few weeks to get something and then doing it again a few weeks later with some new reward keeping them on a perpetual treadmill that casuals have no chance of keeping up with
>>
>>214484007
Indentured servitude. Make membership require a certain amount of work to be done for the guild in exchange for a basic standard of living, which can be provided cheaply through guild housing and the low cost of basic foodstuffs. Then set the unskilled workers who don't already have employment prospects to large-scale public works and pioneering which the guild can later charge non-guild members for access to. By the end of their work period, members will have skills and experience they can use to start other ventures funded by the new income or take positions administering and maintaining them.

As the merchant street jew pointed out, you can't just wait around until someone hands you a stack of cash to do something. You have to take the initiative, trusting in the future value of what you're building.

If Honesty's biggest and only advantage is manpower he should be leasing groups of his guild members out to other guilds in support positions. Backup positions for combat guilds, warehouse work for merchant guilds, all sorts of shit like that. It may not be glamorous but it will grow bonds with other players and guilds, put money in your pocket, and is probably safer than messing around with those fairy gate things and getting disheartened when that's all you do for a year with zero results.

There's also the low-skill by time-intensive work of gathering lower rarity crafting materials. Moderately leveled adventurers can easily farm outside the starting zone so they wouldn't be relegated to just common items. They can't compete with the traders who monopolize exchanges or the raid guilds that get the epic loot, but they can saturate the market and control the supply of certain crafting components. You can even create new demands for items simply by altering their supply. If an item that was previously scarce, and thus seldom used, suddenly becomes superabundant, then its use will increase, and correspondingly so will its demand. At that point the ability to deliver a lot of that item is more important than anything else, and having a large work force capable of gathering the mats is to your advantage.

He brilliantly argued, that he was in fact a sovereign citizen and according to the black law dictionary, and international maritime law, the private corporation known as Japan has no right or power of taxation over his private person on his privately held and lawfully owned property (he carries a jar of sand he owns, this means that he is in person a legally recognized city state with its own laws for as long as he holds onto that jar he is legally invulnerable. Coincidentally he sued the Japanese state LLC to give himself a 1% gross share of the Japanese state LLC tax revenues, for services rendered to it (such as walking on the soil of Japan LLC).

Or so the story goes. He has changed his name since then, to one Satoshi Nakamoto. We may yet hear of him again.

Somebody's gotta wrangle all the vagrant players or else they will cause problems, mainly banditry. They wouldn't have a chance of waylaying higher level players, but there's plenty of low level players with nice stuff due to being in wealthy / powerful guilds. They could also hassle NPCs to vent their frustration or just start griefing people trying to do routine quests.

>>
>>214488562
People who were successful in high paying jobs likely have the self-motivation and experience necessary to succeed in a new environment. The people who got depressed were likely not that smart or successful in life, but for whatever reason didn't sink a lot of time or effort into Elder Tale, so the game world didn't really offer any advantages to them over the original one, and because of their unmotivated personality, they wouldn't be able to galvanize themselves to survive.

Roe2 is a lifeform that belongs to the same group as the Geniuses. True, she's an alt account from Shiroe, but it's been purposefully hi-jacked in order to interact with individuals in Elder Tale

>>214485664
The world in Log Horizon is implied to be an alternate universe. How the adventurers gained proper sentience and self awareness ended up being a consequence of the Geniuses interfering with the rules of that universe in order to farm Empathions. The rule being that no one universe can house more than 1 form of highly intelligent life. It implies that the People of Land were alive, and it wasn't until the catastrophy that adventurers went from robots/ accounts following prime directives of finding quests -> defeat monsters -> loot, to fully autonomous beings that could just deny those same quests, build new technologies or establish complex political infrastructure.

Under what authority could they deprive others of freedom? They aren't a government, they don't make laws, and they don't have a legal system to adjudicate cases or enforce laws either. What they have is a mutual association overseen by a council. The council creates and then agrees on rules that all members have to abide, but the only real "punishment" they have for breaking the rules is sanctioning or excluding people from participation in the community.

>“We win this battle. We’ll be taking your other leader’s head with us.”
>Shiroe quickly took a dagger from his inner pocket and used it to sever Demiquas’s head. Akatsuki saw Shiroe’s expression cloud slightly at the wet sound of splitting flesh that the dagger made as he brought it down.

We just have some details from the books.

I remember that apparently out in the middle of the Pacific there is some mega-ultra-high tier raid dungeon that amounts to going full Lovecraft and summoning Cthulhu as a summoner.

Also that Australia is full of really strong over world bosses, but the Australians were the first server to get their shit together, declare Lander rights, and were taming wyverns and dragons to ride as mounts.

Also that Mamare said one of the main Europe server cities is in Poland and could be called Kurwa.

Trying to impose law and order will immediately shatter the peace the Round Table built. Once the stakes for true power are on the table, there will be a competition to hold the reins of power. Even if somebody fair-minded and with noble intentions has the power, there would be people unsatisfied with the result due to personal ambition or differences in ideology. The Round Table sidesteps this issue with its voluntary, consensus-based approach to making rules. They wanted to prevent the kind of power struggle that led to Plant Hwyaden seizing power in the other zone and becoming a tryanny. That's obviously a worst case scenario, but even in a best case scenario you'd have a much more divided Akiba with far less equitable cooperation between guilds.

That's not to say the Round Table's system is perfect, we see the issues with it on display. It doesn't have ways of coercing people with no stake in society's prosperity to follow its rules, which leaves it up to the guilds to keep people in line. It also doesn't really have any way of enforcing law and order, or defending itself except by voluntary cooperation, which depends on good faith of everybody involved. So yes, it's vulnerable to undermining and exploitation by bad faith actors. But the people in the Council probably feel that vulnerability is better than tyranny.

Yeah that's what I mean by excluding people from participation in the community. Shiroe owns the building via the mechanics of the world, it's his property. The rules of the world they live in enforce his ownership. There's nothing people can do about it. This doesn't give him any kind of right to tell people what to do or take away their freedom. He can just take away guild resources.

This system reminds me a lot of the early U.S. under the Articles of Confederation. The guilds are equivalent to states, and the round table is similar to the federal government.

>>
>>214489857
I'm saying there are no longer any NPCs. All people in the world came to life at the same time and are based on what they were in the game. The landers are based on NPC flavor text, placement, and dialogue. The adventurers are based on the players operating them at the time the game world transformed into a real one. The adventurers just think they got transported here because their memories are pulled from their Earth counterparts' (who are still on Earth). The truth is that they are all, adventurers and landers, completely new entities created as part of the still-ongoing world-reshaping that we observe. That's why Chinese bots and alt accounts can be there with their own personalities and why people are morphing to fit their avatars.
>>
>>214489433
>Under what authority could they deprive others of freedom?
The same authority upon which all governments are formed, the strength of arms necessary to enforce their edicts. If they had both the means and the public support to force people into compliance, they could function as a government.

The scenes didn't feel rushed or disjointed to me, but it did feel like they dropped us right into the main plot without a substantial setup. The cold open in particular fell flat because it just drops us right into the Round Table drama without any transition from the previous season.

Also Season 2 was definitely rushed, and I think that's contributing to the confusion. They're obviously just looking at how to promote the novels as efficiently as possible, which is a shame because they could definitely milk more episodes out of the series, especially with side story content.

How many web novels are there?
Since they're dipping into them instead of only relying on the light novels there's no reason not to continue doing so... assuming there's more of them.

If season 3 is successful (which I imagine it will be if for no other reason than the fanbase busting their collective nuts over there simply BEING a season 3 after six years) then I don't see why there wouldn't be another soon.

When I want to make someone understand I'm not interested in them, I remove my glasses and stare at them with dead myopic eyes. That's a form of nonverbal communication.
At least it was, until wearing masks became mandatory at my work. Now they slip all the time, which is annoying so I remove them all the time, and the nonverbal meaning got a little lost.

Eins is right, a society that doesn't care for all its inhabitants equally is doomed to collapse or tyranny.
Without empathy a community cannot be created, if they let the trading guilds act like this it will lead to the splintering of the adventurers until they cannot fight against the people of the land's established powerbase.

i mean, i get that eins made a lot of mistakes whit how he organized his guild, but he also made a lot of work for the assembly and now that he is in a bad position he is cornered and about to lose even more power and relevance

Obviously not, he's a casual gamer who took a casual approach to forming a guild. It's not exactly his fault for being in over his head since it was only supposed to be a game, but at some point he probably should have owned up to the fact that he is in fact in over his head.

Even if he did have the creativity and wisdom to properly handle a guild, the nature of his guild's members isn't exactly useful. That's not to say the guild is useless, in fact it provides an important network for many players who were also casual and aren't suited to tackling elite tasks. All those people do need some sort of support, and there are a lot more of them than the hardcores. But social projects handed down by an institution aren't going to help them, it's just busy work, and trying to organize them democratically probably won't be successful either because they aren't invested enough to care or informed enough to understand what their votes mean. What Honesty should do is structure itself like a university- provide structured classes, provide advisors who can assist with networking, and work on outreach and internships to eventually place the listless adventurers into other guilds where they might be useful, or even form new guilds based on their studies.
>>
>>214485613
he voluntaried to do a work for the council, in doing so he wasted his usable power force (the part of the guild that actually do shit) in the proyect, the proyect is a waste of time so far and while other proyect and guilds activitis have been going great he is just stuck whit a waste of power force AND the new players that he keep accepting, he now doesnt know what to do since the other guilds keep getting more power and resources and his guild memebers are now practically concidered "second class citizen"

They aren't helping at all, the production guilds are acting only out of self-interest and would no doubt ally themselves with the enemies of the council if it came to it.

Eins' guild has problems sure but he is trying to provide a solution to the problem that affects the entire city: those who were transported and unable to adapt leading to deep depression.
The production guilds want to just leave them all to die.
How can you argue this isn't everyone's problem when many of these "leechers" came from the other guilds, especially from D.D.D.
They are just blaming Honesty now that its convenient to avoid the problem they also should be responsible for.

>and would no doubt ally themselves with the enemies of the council if it came to it.
I don't think they're that dumb. Even ignoring morality they know which team they're on and aren't foolish enough to throw in with the side that is bent on totalitarian dominion, laissez faire capitalism doesn't usually flourish under those conditions.

And as has been said a dozen times by now, they did all put an immense amount of resources into public support, getting every adventurer in the city up to level 50 which means nothing anywhere near them is a real threat, and it takes 20 minutes of killing infinitely respawning trash mobs 5 minutes walk outside the gates to feed yourself for a week. As far as basic needs go they're essentially post-scarcity. No one is in any danger of starving.

The problem is that the plebs have nothing to do and are butthurt about it. It's been a problem several times over the course of the series and every time Shiroe and the council have barely staved off the problem while also navigating other much more immediately dangerous crises. At this point everyone's standard of living is pretty good, they've got the tools they need to support themselves, and they're part of a massive support network of similar people. Sure they got dealt a pretty raw deal with the whole Apocalypse thing, but Shiroe is even working on that for them too.
Eins' problem is that he ISN'T trying to provide a solution, he's asking the other guilds to provide it for him. Either he's just not competent enough for the job or the plebs he's trying to help are beyond any assistance, but aside from sending someone to do his job for him there's nothing the other guilds can really do.

I think the worst part about his guild is that it is universally thought of as the guild that does nothing. Anyone who wants to work or accomplish something would leave and join/start another guild. The only people in his guild are those who, for one reason or another, lack the ambition to work beyond what is required to survive. Anyone who doesn't fit this description is slowly getting pushed out and replaced by more NEETs

Some of them, but I think most are just aimless. The fat furry and his gang from this episode just looked like normal dudes wandering in the market and hanging out under a tree, not sitting in a corner hugging their knees or something. He apologized politely to Akatsuki instead of stumbling away dead eyed and mindbroken.
>>214503827
And again, they've done exactly that like 4 times on screen. Throwing money at them isn't going to help, it's a culture problem and you can only hold so many cultural festivals. Taxing the fuck out of the productive guilds just to distract them temporarily with menial labour is clearly not the solution. >>214503830 has the right of it I think, at this point the whole guild is basically a self fulfilling prophecy of failure, not helped by their failure to accomplish the task they were assigned. I'll be charitable and assume it's just bad luck they got the one that's basically impossible rather than incompetence.

The thing is the members of said guilds managed to do so by themselves and while it affects everyone this is clearly Eins' problem, he's the one that decided to take in all those adventurers and either didn't bother to motivate them or help them to reintegrate society like the other guilds did or he just sucks at being a leader, Honesty is a really big guild if everyone helped the newcomers then this wouldn't be a problem in the first place, hell, with the sheer number of adventurers Honesty should be an important guild but instead is a confederation of unmotivated NEETs, the biggest mistake of Eins was to believe the Round Table was going to wipe his ass when every other guild had their hand full with their own issues and then he has the audacity to propose to tax the bigger guilds in S2 and now he wants them to create jobs out of nothing paid with money it doesn't exist, fuck that guy.

There are multiple public works projects going on though, Honesty is even getting called out on that. The Fairy Rings exploration they fucked up is publicly funded, there are many administrative jobs, weekly festivals to participate in as well. Even levelling the players to 50 was an endeavor funded by the big guilds.

You can't expect the other guilds to keep flushing down more and more money on Honesty. Also, while Charasin might be a cunt, Roderick's guild is doing research and advancing the whole society with their findings like the Flavour text stuff or defeating the genius of measures. Mikitaka's guild created engines and heating and we see Woodrow creating a mail service. All of them are clearly creating jobs AND helping the public with their projects. And even Charasin, as smug as he is here helped with the missing people cases and the communication networks.

Honesty is completly aimless right now, they were supposed to be a guild that writes guides and helps new players. They could established themselves as many different things, from contracting to other guilds, being a general teaching guild, becoming scribes or Lander's relationship diplomats with their knowledge of the game world.
>>
>>214504704
>This is why he wants the public works projects, a simple but fulfilling task to occupy their minds uplift their spirits.
What stops them from doing that in the first place?
I have seen nothing from the show saying that the crafting guilds have dibs on any sort of market.
The only rule to crafting in the show is that you must be a subclass relating to it and even then you could change to apprentice to learn new skills. Public works imply fixing roads making fountains and gardens. You don't need 330000 gold "investment" to make a fucking flower bed.
They all understand the rule that the system cannot do it for them. As said in the thread, they seem to be motivated enough to do there minimum 20 mins in the Forrest to get food and rooms. What is an extra 5 mins on top to gather a few bricks and slap them together to make a new wall?

There is stuff to do without even seeing combat.
The diplomatic tie to to Eastal, would present countless none combat jobs.
>Helping a farmer lander, bring grain in
>Book keeping for some faggot noble.
That mage Regan would give adventures some shit to do just to up his own knowledge.
Even if you were Shiroe's fucking coffee boy. There are clearly enough things to do.
By doing this they even bring themselves closer to going home.
>>
>>214505629

>>
>>214505200
The Fairy Rings wasn't a fuckup its just incredibly complex and they need to put a lot of work into it, blaming Honesty for that shows how they are being used as a scapegoat for the city's problems.

>They could established themselves as many different things
They might have been able to become something but they are flooded with the mentally ill people from the other guilds who
decided to ignore them, and now they also blame Honesty for that as if they were somehow responsible for these people existing.
How is this not bullshit? They are just trying to avoid their responsibility towards these people.

>>214505233
As far as I know those guilds control most of the materials market and most crafters, there is nothing that can be done on a large scale without their help.

>>214505099
A mass of mentally ill people affects the mood of everyone in the town, these people being down will inevitably spread and cause a wave of depression.
Pointing fingers trying to find someone to blame is useless, the issue will remain a risk to the city.

>>
>>214505363
No.

Basically he was used to hobbyist projects where you don't have to worry about tax, but actually you *do* have to pay tax on those if your income rises above a certain threshold. Some guys like ZUN tweeted about the case when it happened, saying they almost made the same mistake.
>>
>>214505620
I could have sworn I'd seen a gear diagram for Shiroe that said his glasses had some incredibly minor stat thing but now I can't find it.
>>
>>214505200
The bigger problem with the Fairy Ring project is that if you warp into another server zone you are effectively cut off from your contacts until you reenter the zone of your original server.
>>
>>214504704
He needs to come up with his own market to fill or suffer his guild fading into obscurity. The main problem with honesty is that there is no ambition in the guild at all. They have no purpose currently and only decided to investigate the rings on a whim basically. They needed to find an actual reason for their guild to exist, and pursue it. None of the other big guilds of the round table just sat around and did nothing to further themselves over the past year. Only Honesty has stagnated and they are suffering because of it. It has snowballed to the point where they have thousands of members who, for the most part, don't seem to want to do anything. The only solution is massive restructuring or disbanding the guild entirely. Either way, it has to come from the guild itself.

Instead of this, he opted to swear fealty to a foreign realm the round table is currently hostile with. This can only end by making his situation worse as he lacks the power to take control of Akiba.
>>
>>214505853
>they are being used as a scapegoat for the city's problems
No, it just shows that they're hated for their lack of results. It may be unfair in this case, as it's a very difficult task, but the fact is that other guilds are doing things that are visibly helping society and Honesty is a money pit. They can't help but wonder if the rings would be up already if the job had gone to someone else.
>>
>>214505853
>As far as I know those guilds control most of the materials market and most crafters, there is nothing that can be done on a large scale without their help.
That is absolute bull fucking shit. The show has explained that once monsters respawn they are given items and gold back. There are 2000 Honesty members. They can't even buy zones to keep rivals out.
Shit i bet they could camp the zone entrance to a popular farming raid and shut out any other guild in the process. We have seen numbers beat level 90s in the show before.
And the rules of the Round table says that only camping of the lower level zones is forbidden.
This is a clear cut leadership miss step or by design.

>>
>>214505853
>there is nothing that can be done on a large scale without their help.
Then they should start small, the thing here is that they're just unmotivated and this has been a thing since season 2, the thing is Eins is too blame because he is doing shit besides asking for gibs, he has one of the largest guilds and you are saying that he can't command his men to help and support other adventurers so it becomes a chain reaction where everyone helps everyone? He's clearly an inefficient leader and one of the reasons why the situation got out of hand, literally every other guild leader that we know would have it's own way to solve this issue.
>>
>>214505853
Yes, the Fairy Rings are complex and might have changed that is true and not being able to figure them out perfectly is not all on Honesty. Still, they are a guild based on writing guides and and helping newbies understand the game. That's some very useful knowledge that can potentially create a lot of jobs and capitals. From training newbies, to even training Landers, to becoming publisher's for their guides or even just creating newspapers. There's a lot of things the Honesty leaders could have done but didn't.

It seems they just take everyone in and give them nothing to do except handing out welfare and the failedFairy Ring project and then trying to force everyone else to pay for them taking in literally everyone.

Literally this. The connections are time based, so they just need to map times to gates and they should be able to figure at least some of it out. Honesty had the opportunity to at least map out some routs with the fairy rings and begin creating outposts around them worldwide. They could have become an international relations/trade guild but they couldn't think of a way to take advantage of their situation.

Castling is an emergency escape spell accessible by all Summoners, but it's not known whether you have to put points towards it first. Judging by the fact that it "sacrifices" the summon, it might not actually be a common skill because that's antithetical to the general Summoner playstyle of having the summons fight in your place.

One of the new things was the "Crimson Contract" Overskill the Minami guy has

He was confused about how the taxes worked and thought the publisher was handling it, but they weren't so he owed a decent amount. The japanese IRS or whatever sent him to court to recoup it, they talked it out and he paid what he owed, but because it did go to court and japan is japan and they need to maintain their 99% conviction rate he still got found guilty and sentenced to 10 months in prison, but the sentence was suspended for 3 years, which means he won't actually have to serve any time because when 3 years come up they'll just go "Good behaviour, you're free to go". You had it as a skill, but the effectiveness of all skills in Elder Tale is dependent on how many levels you put into it, same as how Shiroe’s Thorn Bind Hostage is maxed out and then leveled beyond the maximum with some raid reward boosts.

My expectation would be that Castling normally has a range limitation or a time limitation. Otherwise you’d just put one point in and then forget about it.
