you have no idea what you're talking about.
all you need to do in zbrush is to draw a few guiding edgeloops and it will fill in the rest in a matter of seconds. you can also combine this with vertex painting to control the density. maybe 2 minutes of work for a face and the results are fantastic.

have fun manually drawing quads you braindead drone.

If you're not doing facial animation and just want a retopo that's good enough for UV unwrapping, why not spend a few $ on the exoside quad remesher.
It's the same auto remesher in zbrush basically, and it gives great results. Speedchar uses it constantly as part of his blender workflow.
You can try it free for a month, then if you're too poor to shell out $100 for the perpetual license, just $5/mo while you make a game that will earn enough that you can afford basic tools.

After a few minutes of work I stopped to assess my progress and as I rotated the camera around the model, for a brief, horrible moment, the image of Cris's sculpts flashed through my mind.
In that instant, some intangible quality of his work attached itself to the model I was creating.

NO one in the industry uses that shit unless it's some background crap no one cares about. The scope of zremesher is to get you a fast and dirty quad mesh that you can use in subd detail sculpting which you either clean retopo later on or project using wrap3d on a clean basemesh
But look into Topogun 3(I think 3 is the newest incarnation), it has automatic retopo tools. Or just pirate Zbrush like everyone else

Hey! they just added the retopo overlay after 3 years.
You have to enable the color in the themes > 3d viewport > face retopology because it is transparent when you load it at first and after that enable it in the overlays.
Now they just have to port the f2 and the looptools from the addons to the edit mode, to improve grid fill to work with odd vertex, to move the slide/relax brush from sculpt to edit mode, to make an array faces brush, that could be done even with geometry nodes, a tube brush, gestures to bridge edges, patches etc.....
