Yeah, unless they're face morphs. Then that's iffy and you'll need maybe potentially to hack it. Face was changed for 8.1. 8.1 is quite literally 8.0 but with a new face posing system, because, for some reasons, we needed a new face posing system.

I don't use dforce. For hairs i use zbrush. You can move the meshe around. They're just textured layers of flat pastas. I'll show you once at home.
In your case i still would tune the dforce shape in zb.

yeah I used to do the same but I stopped using hair cards (because I unironically hate that crap). So maybe its my fault for trying to actually simulate hair and not just do the thick pasta way with opacity.

>>
>>897589
well its really just all about using silly imagery to fake materials. Every 5 years or so they call the method something new like "physically based materials" and so on.
A good way to learn about shaders is to mod games and older ones at that (Unreal 3 and such). Because back then you had to use all the ticks in the books to make something work and look decent and you couldnt be lazy like 99% of devs today (sorry but its the truth).
Well you are in luck though because today its so much easier than 10-15 years ago due to youtube. I would just watch something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4dURVZEi3E
downloading UE4 and playing around with their editor will also give you are much better understanding of how shaders are build in general: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWOlIvq0Etg
great thing is that you dont need to be a programmer to setup your own unique shaders due to the awesome features of UE4 (it will also visualize much better the connections and effects).
A general understanding will help you to use create and use shaders in nearly any modern graphical engine and not just IRAY.

>>
>>897600
you can make anything in MS paint and by extension Notepad.
But its not really that helpful. Before you can really use photoshop or other programs like that you need to understand whats important in a say a roughness map. How to utilize the colour and alpha channel and so on.
>>
>>897601
The other anon had good advice regarding guides and tutorials for older games. They're really broken down and easy to digest. Specially the doom 3 generation.
>In older games, a single image qualified as a texture and all that was required was that you simply drop the corresponding image into a specific folder. The general concept in the id Tech 4 family is to use material shaders which in turn use multiple images , each representing a different property of a surface.

its Z fighting. Most hairs come with a scalp that is off set a bit from the head. Problem doing render is that you subdiv your model higher doing render so you end up with intersecting planes.

what for what?
>>
>>897668
ZBrush for creating assets.
Daz for assembling assets.
Blender for posing and rendering, probably.
>>
>>897630
How come your renders are always so dark? Are you just a broody sorta fella?
>>
>>897670
>Zbrush
>Creating anything
What
>>897668
Blender for general use and vertex modelling. Trust me learn this first.
Zbrush for sculpting, usually to smooth/fix something small. Not really that useful cause you could sculpt in blender too, and if you make thing from scratch to use in daz then sculpt worth shit all. You need tradition modelling to get the jobs done.
>>
>>897681
>>897668
The only thing I think of, for zbrush to has any use for daz, is making some hair. But then you are stuck with shitty Fortnite blocky style hair. It's year 2022 and card hairs are still the best price/performance hairs really, easy to use, easy to make, and look good too if you know what you are doing.
Other than that, maybe make some new head morphs or body morphs.
Real assets like clothes, accessories? Not so much.
So yeah, you should focus on blender. Zbrush is like the ice cream you get after a day's work. It's nice to have but not essential.

>>
>>897708
Oh yeah, try import that shit into daz, lmao?
At best you could make a morph out of it, but then you still need to do the textures and the textures are like 8/10 of a character.

nah they are bright on my shitty old screen. But many write that they are very dark on their screens. I have a 10 year old office LCD shitty screen and many people run IPS very dark screens now. My screen can even do black only a soft shade of grey.
I have bought a new display but havent received it yet.
>>897659
how about you show me a render of how you do skin? Then I could actually learn something.

i try blender
this is pretty retarded shit
>>
>>897712
>Make something in zbrush with millions of vertex
>Wank himself over it
Lmao a monkey also could have done that, with millions of vertex.
Sculpting is only good for some adjustments and baking, vertex modelling is the CORNERSTONE of the 3d world.
>>
>>897684
Yes hair. And cum too.
I make a lot of cums in zbrush. Such delicate liquid, easier to make with the performance of zbrush.
Zbrush is ten time better than blender in term of performance.
Trust me, I know my cooms.
>>
>>897733
Look like blendlet reputation about being delusional and retarded isn't completely overblown.

Do you guys use blender? How to sculpt in blender without changing vertex order.
Is there an option where I could tick and make sure my sculpting wont change the vertex order?
I know dynamic topology sculpting destroy the order. I know you shouldnt sub divide. What else should i know, guys, like what tools are a-ok, what's not?

I'd need to go deeper with shaders than the basics. Are you using DAZ shader mixer? Is it necessary?

whats the best way to deal with render static caused by lighting? is it just something I have to deal with in photoshop?
>>
>>897839
I feel like this is a very common problem with iray. I used to deal with it by changing the translucency of the object to 0.99 and it works for the most part but with multiple objects i just don't know.

>>

>Are you using DAZ shader mixer?
not much to be honest. You can check Nvidia documentation and see how you can do 90% of all your stuff with basic shaders. Only when you need advanced stuff like two-sided materials or introduce random zones or such.

>>
>>897839
superimposed it by rendering in 4k and then using Photoshop to reduce noise and Smart Sharpen, then put it to 1080p or whatever size. Because you rendered at a higher pixel count, the pixel density will create a sharper image once you reduce the size.

I'm thinking of buying this model because I think it's an attractive woman for a dating sim, however... how can I be sure if the model is really attractive or if the guy who rendered it is good? Does anyone have experience with this? Can I go by the store renders or do the guys use some trick with lighting+photoshop to make them look better than they really are?

sure but if someone says: "A is looking like shit" in a thread about DAZ 3D ill always ask why and how to improve.

The problem with your images is that they really are dark when viewed on a calibrated monitor. When your new monitor is available try to check calibration information, that website "rtings.com" is usually a good source of information about this, they usually try to calibrate the monitors better and make the settings available.
>>
>>897985
It is not a good idea to use Patreon as a parameter because of the "survivorship bias". Also, what determines the success of games, besides luck, is also the writing. A guy who can write high quality erotica will probably get away with it despite the quality of the models he uses.

There are several things in DAZ that were really bad. For example the facial expressions, until Genesis 8 they were all terrible and artificial. Genesis 8.1 made facial expressions tolerable for me for the first time.
