Ok retard.

As long as you make decent money in a sustainable way and like your job you are not a looser, but how long can you make coom? You can’t make that shit while you have a family, so sooner or later you are gonna need to get hired by some globohomo studio or switch to making courses online unless you are talented and lucky

This is the future of 99% of indie devs.
Getting into 3D porn isn't even that bad, because you won't develop one product over years only for it to flop.
If you're a coom artist you just shit out as much stuff as possible and if you're lucky and it sticks you make a nice buck, but again most don't make any cash.
Better than wasting 3 years making a game that will 98% of the time flop anyways, if it ever reaches the stage to get published.

99% of people have MOLD in there heads, and lack the ability to THINK inside their own empty skulls - Now imagine : the empty shell retard decides to embark on the mission to create the APEX of entertainment medium which combines every corner of one's artistic reaches- IMAGINE, someone like that giving it a shot. THAT is why independent game developers fail - They cannot even see clearly what it is they have gotten themselves into. A fucking symphony of technical and artistic craft must take place in order to create a work which holds meaning to the audience. To boot, the work must mean most to the creator. From this logic, it is best to consider:

If instead, one chooses to make work FOR HIMSELF; Creating the shapes from a place embedded within his skull, To create with a purpose and a fire that is fueled most by entertaining oneself rather than a market or a slice of that pie,- Only After the work has concluded, allowing an audience to experience it only if they wish- No force necessary, because the force to see the spectacle becomes magnetic; attraction to that fire-source, to the mind who mixed it. Whatever people wish to see is based on what they wish to see from themselves; So to embed yourself so securely into a work, it is the ultimate honey to any bees in the area. A work that radiates the meaningful efforts which an individual sweat and sweat to produce

>>881381
> I assume he is thin because of his country's infrastracture. Americans are fat pigs because of addiction to road cages.

He is thin because of the habits his society drilled into him from a young age. In Japanese schools, they start every day with exercise - they even do this in corporate offices.

See 11:51, he is exercising in the middle of his call with this dude.

All you have to do to not be fat is make sure you burn as many calories as you consume.

CALORIES IN - CALORIES OUT = WEIGHT CHANGE

That's the simple formula that governs your weight and the only people who think otherwise are marxists who refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions - or lack thereof.

It's easy to feel anger towards adult content creators in 3D. But the reality is porn is literally the easiest way to make money in 3D hands down. Anyone on this board could be making 1000+ a month on patreon with barely any effort at all. So long as there a men with hard disks in their hands (forever) there will always be a market for 3dcg porn. The biggest downside is that in order to create 3d porn you pretty much have to stare at pornagraphic content for reference every single day for several hours at a time potentially. It's just not good for you imo.
>>
>>881364
>Nobody makes it in indie gaming
this is so verifiably false. i assume you shat out a 2d indie pixelshit roguelike?
>>
>>881263
I think people like this would benefit from a part time blue collar job. You have some income, hopefully enough to break even while living at max poverty, so you don't have the feeling of impending doom as you go through your savings. And it'll get you out of the house and interacting with people, so you'll have more sources of inspiration for your work. And staying inside all the time just isn't healthy long term.
>>
>>881434
Agreed. Doing a normal job 2 or 3 days a week seems optimal as it breaks up the monotony of being inside all the time but doesn't feel like soul crushing wage slavery
>>
>>881434
The happiest and most productive month of my life was when I worked a six hour shifts at the post office on weekends, and then spent the rest of the week working art commissions in my bedroom.

I should look into trying to live like that again.

i think what he is apologising for eating a snack despite not working and staying home. i guess in japanese culture a snack is a reward for doing labour or something
>>
>>881396
This is changing somewhat. I've looked into farming patreon bucks and there is a LOT of competition. you can still rake in money but you need to find a niche people are willing to pay for. alot of popular creators have pivoted to doing blacked and other fetishes because those coomers are willing to pay
>>
>>881434
Outside experience is good if you want to develop characters or narratives, but it made me hate blue collar jobs. People who say otherwise haven't worked one. You get paid like shit and you're overworked. By the time you come back, you're exhausted to do anything properly.

You just need to discipline yourself, get into a good art environment with likeminded people, and go to Church/meetups/toastmaster/etc.
>>881467
Your wellbeing is more important, that "challenge" isn't being done for your benefit, it's done for theirs.

I've worked in the industry since 2003, but stopped doing 3D modeling and switched to code full time in 2006. Back then we used Cinema4D. I tell my wife and it has nothing to do with her being kinky. It's about having a relationship built on mutual trust and respect. I'm not ashamed of what I do and she respects my space, hobbies, and boundaries.
You should be able to share this with your partner even if they aren't into it and don't want to see it.

>>881670
What if you do professional work for horror films of people being dismembered and mutilated? Do you go into the details or do you just say "I do visual effects for films"? If you have kids, you fucked to make them. How much information do you give about this when the topic of kids comes up? Do you tell them "I put my dick in her vagina and came and got her pregnant", or "we had to try for a while", or just "we have a couple kids"?
Just like everything else, you judge the audience and situation and give an appropriate amount of detail like anybody who isn't autistic. Read your audience.

>>
>>881263
D'awww.
If I had to take a cultured guess, I'd say you picked up blender or something, tried it for about a week and gave up, because nobody gave a damn about you or it was too hard.

>You'll never be a real artist
Define what you mean by 'artist'.
Because these days, people splatter paint on a canvas and call it a day. Then some rich moron comes and buys it because it symbolically represents something. Or buys it because your NAME represents something with novelty value.

So, they very much are artists. Not kind you can proudly talk around family table. Still artists though.

>you have no talent and no taste
Oh, there is no talent in that. You are correct. ANYONE who has over 80IQ can pick up Blender/SFM/Maya/DAZ, learn over several years and produce content.
Only limit is you. Only limit is the time you decide to spend on it.

As for taste... uhhh... who are YOU to judge people's tastes, right.

>>881279
Previous anon is correct. You have it as hobby. Then transition into actual full-time job. If you actually can't do that in span of several years, you are either creation generic-ass content or you have not improved to point where people would care about what you produce.

3D porn industry is a double edged sword. People there are both your friends but also rivals.
>>
>>887264
To add to this.

3D Porn, especially animation are full of competition.
Thus, if you want to succeed, you have to distinguish yourself, be at everyone's face and most importantly - be consistent.
Over the years, consistently produce content and slowly transition into having animation as full time job.

If you don't do that, you are either producing generic content or you're doing something wrong. Or... you're simply not good enough as the top % of artists.

That being said, 3d porn artists have LITERALLY THE BEST MARKETING ever known. You see.
People search for 3D porn. They search for a specific product. There are sites which have these specific products properly tagged. With source included. Usually tagged so you can specifically find what you need.

So, post on them. Post on 15+ sites. Watch as your numbers on Twitter, pixiv or whatever grow over the years.

If you innovate and keep improving, while having tempting reward system, despite the existence of art theft and piracy, you are going to be earning anything from 600-10000 dollars a month.

Modern economy is pretty fragile. If you have reliable means to work from home, do so.
Better than sitting at a boring desk job or cleaning someone else's toilets.

Not a job you can brag about. Not a job you can talking about with parents or some friends. However, it's still a job. It gets your rent paid, stomach filled.

Hell, if you're actually smart as 3D porn creator, you WILL make eventually plans to transition into some other projects. Nothing lasts forever. So... adapt. Overcome.
>>
>>881263
Real talk, how do I get started with this coomer shit?
I have no desire to be a professional 3D artist I just want to pick it up as a hobby and maybe it goes somewhere and if not whatever. I've got a fundamental understanding and experience in 3D but that's about it.

Is there any sort of guides out there for the coomer shit specifically? Something where I can just learn and understand the workflow and process and then go from there?

eating tons of sugar will unironically keep you thin
the proportion of fat in our diets has increased dramatically in the past hundred years, particularly PUFAs, but just fat in general
and contrary to what the ketards and "uhm, akchually" contrarians tell you, fat does in fact make you fat
picrel is proportion of calories from fat : protein : carbs in irish population throughout the decades
the ideal is to keep fat below 10% of calories
also fructose (half of the sucrose (table sugar) molecule) increases your metabolic rate and doesnt create much of an insulin response, i guarantee if you ate only table sugar in place of starches and kept fat below 10% and consumed the same amount of calories, youd lose weight

There isn't a single furry 3d anything that demonstrates the author having the hard skills required to land a real job in 3dcg, let alone the soft skills.
>I totally landed a real job after making 1-second hip thrusts loops in SFM with stolen models and dealing with gay furry mental illness all day for years.

>>
>>892482
I don't do porn anims I make models, and it's not that hard to figure out. I do work that isn't furry as well as furry stuff, just doing the furry stuff was what motivated and got me on the path.

If you think there's no furries in the industry I'm gonna laugh real hard at you.
>>
>>892488
ok furry filipino prop monkey, rockin that industry job.
>>
>>892488
For how often the "furries in the industry" meme gets touted, furries sure love to make amateur hour level stuff "outside of work"
Like, seriously, I look at the front page of artstation and think "damn these guys are pros". Meanwhile, when I look at what trickles out of the furry fandom it's more along the lines of "damn these guys suck".
So what is it? Are you all "industry furries" simply hiding and LARPing on /3/ or are furries at large incapable of propping up their more talented artists and instead prefer the daz-tier headhackers and SFM 1-second loop-ers to be the poster children of 3d furry art? If so, why would you even want to be associated with people who despite identical interests don't even appreciate you nor your skills, lmao.
Or maybe the "furries in the industry" myth is just that, a myth. Barring a few outliers which I'm sure must exist (yet grossly unheard of), and I, of course, totally believe you're one of those.

Not the same furry retard but I'd say this, though for a good reason. Most technically talented artists doing furry porn don't know how to make it sexually appealing -- bad angles, poor composition, boring subject matter. Cream rises (literally) in porn, but how you choose to interpret the data is key.
>>
>>893014

I don't wanna. I have the ability to, but I see that as a waste of time.
I want to spend the real work on the little animations at the end, not the actual fucking.
The fucking doesn't have to be all that crazy intricate, though I'd put some effort into making it look good, but I really just want an excuse to do the retarded insemination animations.

As an example... One of them was gonna be the fight between Goku and Vegeta, where Vegeta does the Galic gun to destroy the Earth and they do the beam clash bullshit. But I was gonna have a dick (as in an actual penis) be Goku shooting out jizz (with a normal map of giant sperm cells swimming up the "beam") for his "Kamehameha", and Vegeta be an ovum shooting out little immune cells (or whatever kills sperm) and winning out. Just when all hope seems lost, Dicku does the x4 Kaioken and overwhelms with a torrent of jizz and fertilizes the egg.
Or Dick Ghostbusters shooting jizz out of their proton packs to "catch" a ghost, with the ghost just being an egg.

I mainly wanna do stupid shit like that, and draw people in with some porn animations. The less work I need to do getting the models together so I can animate some fucking, the more time I can spend on the shit I really want to.
There's not really a market for retarded shit like that, but if I can get a crowd going, maybe there could be.

original shit is shunned literally all the fucking time, especially when it's not porn, while any "original porn" is just a complete waste of effort since literally nobody cares as long as they COOOOOOOM. imagine spending 2 thousand hours making your own assets when ripping other people's off you will get the exact same result.

God this needs to be copy pasted to every independent developer on the planet. The amount of default, copy pasted, scratch 2d platformers there are out there's quite disappointing. Game design is a combination of many separate skills that need to be blended perfectly in order to work smoothly. Most who try to be a jack of all trades end up being a master at none. Unless you're looking to make a 5-minute game I suggest working with others.

I create my own models and make my porn scenes with them.
Never considered ripping videogame models, using prefab models like daz, using external props or anything with copyright.
Its better that way, it might take longer to produce but at least I can say its 100% mine.
It also helps me to have a better understanding on how 3D works, to earn this knowledge and keep working in the industry as a freelance.

That being said, I often receive messages from other """creators""" who dont really know how to even model a single head, bake textures or rig a hand asking me for sharing my models.

To be honest, I really hate this. They can make like 3 scenes or more per week while mines take at least 1 month per model. At the same time, they are making 10X more money than anyone with talent, and even after all that, they dont have any shame in asking for free models, trying to update their collection of posable characters.

Its really absurd
>>
>>895432
I used to get frustrated at this myself. I find it most important that you are happy with your own work. Dont create for others to jerk off, create for yourself. Others cant just tag along if they like it, and they will. I do that and went all in. So now me creating my own fap material pays my bills.
>>
>>895432
So, why are you even doing porn then?
Why not just do, you know, not porn?
So that at least it's something you could show employers.
As you said, others just cobble shit together that they don't even know how to work in order to churn out garbage at the same rate McD's churns out burgers.
And like McD's, there is an audience of obese hamplanets who went so off the deep end they couldn't taste an actual burger if you shoved it down their throat, coping that the cardboard they gorge themselves on is actually good (or god forbid, healthy) and get into corpo shill mode if you suggest otherwise.

You're basically working extra hoping to attract an audience who doesn't even appreciate it and will equate your proverbial "gourmet burgers" to McD's, and all they will see is that McD's makes more of them and more often than you do.
>>
>>895436
I think its just I want to give the option to create gourmet burgers restaurants as another option. I tried sfm animations in the past and I grew quicker than expected but it was not suitable for me. It was like cheating.
They were not my models, I was stealing others guys creations, artworks.

With this more elaborated content Im also attracting known creators, western and eastern artists, the kind of people I like to interact with. I even keep contact with famous hentai artists I always liked.
And we are not a lot of creators doing the same work nowadays, at least not as much as random creator#4048 not even doing headhacks and just posing a model

>Why not just do, you know, not porn?
Modeling a building, weapons or a random dress doesnt give you enough popularity. Its sad, but if you model a pair of boobs its the way to go if you want to be known and try to earn money
>>
>>895437
Its not an issue with porn. There is audience that will appreciate quality and originality.
Look at Janner for example. They created their own world and characters and model, animate and rig it on their own. They have quite a big following and earn enough on patreon to pay the bills. That could be you too man.
Or Ryan Reos, who mainly models and rigs his OCs and offers them for free I think. His patreon also pays his bills plus commission work on the side he is probably very well off.
Of course they dont reach creators like noname55 or nagoonimation or bulgingsenpai who do use copyrighted characters, but these guys also rig them on their own and adjust the models to improve on whatever quality the ripped files had. Their animation and rendering quality is also something that sets them aparat from the crowd.
Then there is the nsfw-game side of things where you can also see people do really well and all you need to do to get a foot in the door is put your creations in unreal or unity, package a playable build and let people watch your stuff on their own machines. Gameplay and story can come later it seems. The simpler the better, or youll get lost in development hell.
If you're looking for unversal acclaim by all those "McD consumers" as the previous comment so poetically calls them, I can tell you, you are not going to get that. Trust me, ive tried for years.
But you will get something that is better: A hardcore group of supporters that really appreciate your uniqueness and quality and skill. You just have to build that up by being out there, posting, interacting, updating, etc.
And if you truly are a professional capable of putting out some high quality stuff, then there is literally nothing holding you back.
>>
>>895648
So, in short:
>spend 2 decades honing your skills, burn yourself out putting out work after work after work that you spend hundreds of hours polishing each of them, interact with the mentally-unstable on the internet daily
>have 2 decades-worth of practice, if you can imagine it, you can create it
>maybe amass some following
>get beer money if you're lucky
or
>spend 1 evening slapping a pink cone between some character someone else ripped from a videogame
>have no actual skills you can speak of, always dependent on someone else doing work for you to steal
>set yourself up for an ass-raping lawsuit
>become millionaire overnight

don't know what kind of third world, low cost of living country you live in, but beer money doesn't pay my bills, and soon, not even beer anymore.
and no, I'm also not okay with larping that "adjusting ripped models" equates to having any actual skill in modelling characters or anything else. I have (unwillingly) ended up in that exact position in the past, when I was younger and stupider. I was passing myself off as some 3d artist when all I did was peddling touched-up assets ripped from video games and some people were loving it. I wanted to larp as a 3d artist and that was the closest I could get with like, close to no practice to speak of.
I speak from personal experience when I say that I quickly started to feel like a dirty, slimy, lying son of a bitch and I still remember and cringe to this day. It wasn't porn and I wasn't even making any money from it.
That was 2010, when the whole social-media cancer had yet to truly pick up its pace and retards over the internet weren't getting paid money yet.
I have no idea how people in the same position today who also take money for it manage to sleep at night. They must either be delusional about their skills or extremely narcissistic, most likely both.
>>
>>895661
You took that way out of proportion mate.
It didnt take me 2 decades of skill building AAA carreer experience to get where I am. And neither did anyone ever become a millionare overnight from pushing 2 ripped models into eachother. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Try to keep things in perspective man, I know youre frustrated, but it doesnt help if you unreasonably exaggerate the matter like that.

I'll try to share some of my personal experiences, give you my perspective:
I dont live in a 3rd world country and my costs of living might be very similar to yours. I get around 5000€ a month from my stuff and its more than enough to live well and save a buffer for tougher times.
I have about 12 years of experience, started 3d as a hobby, after 1 year I took a 2year art and animation course, after that I went straight into the industry. Spent 5 years in the movie industry, and became a lead cg techart for a big vfx studio. During that time I constantly did my porn work on the side and grew my community through intercation and posts. Eventually I noticed im known well enough to get a solid supporting, so I did. Ended up quitting my job after I realized and never had 1 bit of regret.

I design, model, rig, animate and render my own characters and enjoy it quite a lot. Seeing the new sexy figure coming together is always a reward on its own. But that leads me to the next crucial aspect of working in cg porn, something I havent mentioned yet is your own pleasure and joy doing what you do and the reason you do it for. Yes, you will burn out and quit if you do this just for the money. It may sound cheesy but in my experience you need a certain passion for the subject. I guess I was "fortunate" enough to be how I am, and really enjoy making my own lewd fantasies come to life in my work. Id still be doing it even if I didnt make any money from it, just not fulltime I guess.

So yeah, take from that what you will, I hope it opens a different perspective.
>>
>>895666
I want to peddle smut too, but I am worried about losing my government low income health insurance as I depend on multiple medications and doctors / therapy as well as the shame from having to admit to my family where the money is coming from. What should I do?
>>
>>881263
>>
>>895666
Yes, I know who you are, I have worked with people you worked with.

>I guess I was "fortunate" enough to be how I am
Kind of. Just the fact that you admit you enjoy doing lewd stuff already gives you an advantage. Like, actual enjoyment and not out of some childish feeling of being transgressive.
I don't. Not a puritan or anything, I simply don't.
Also, you're the exception. No other doing cg porn has ever had any significant real work experience. Most are just literal retards.
I don't hate my job, but living costs kill me. What you make wouldn't be enough to make me financially stable where I am, and you know it. I do stuff for myself on the regular as well, but as it stands now, it seems no one really gives a shit about anything unless they can either masturbate to it, or groom the artist into making something they can masturbate to. Not enough people care to make it worth to spend time fostering a community, anyway.
And honestly, for someone with your experience you make very little money, comparatively.
>>
>>895671
>Not a puritan or anything, I simply don't.
But then where even does the desire to get into this field come from? Simply from the wish to be appraised? A weirdly fitting quote from GoT "a lion does not concern himself with the opinions of sheep". What do you care about the reception of clueless noobs towards daz toddlers and sfm buzzos? A praise from a fellow industry professional should matter to you a thousand times more, and you know you would get that for the work you do, and you know those other folks will not. Or is it simply the monetary aspect?

>And honestly, for someone with your experience you make very little money, comparatively.
Thats very true. God knows what my salary would be had I stayed at my work. But I prefer making less money and do something I really love, than to be yet an other cog in the wheel again, working on someone elses dream rather than my own and get serious burnout every other year or so.

But yeah, being open about the work you do, or being able to be open because your social environmment is itself quite open...
Not like this anon here who is in quite the undesireable situation im afraid :( >>895667
I think you can only really start doing smut and enjoy it when you arent worried about losing stuff. Like with my situation, if for whatever reason this stops making money, I would have no issue at all to get a well paid job back in the industry. And secondly, you can only really open up and relax if your peers are accepting or even encouraging. My parents are both, my friends are both, my former employers and potential future ones i've already talked to are too. That fact enables to approach this from a position of absolute inner peace which will be very healthy for the quality and quantity of the work you do.

>Yes, I know who you are, I have worked with people you worked with.
Wow, makes me wonder if you got it right and im really that well known or if you are mistaking me for someone else
>>
>>895667
Separate post for you my friend.
Not sure what country you live in, but you dont simply lose government insurance out of the blue. There is processes that you can keep yourself informed about and act accordingly. And if you are afraid that you will lose it if your income reaches a certain threshold, then thats a good thing isnt it? Not something to be afraid of, but maybe something to aim towards. Unless I dont have all the information I need to make a more educated suggestion.

About your family, I dont really know what you SHOULD do, but the way I see it you only have two options.
1. Take the leap and be open with your family, whats the worst that could happen? If they hate it, then its a different story. And if not, you gained peace. Maybe try talking about it in a clever way that reveals their opinioins on the matter to you without you having to out yourself.
2. Keepit a secret, thats probably very hard and I think also unhealthy in the long term, but maybe its the better course of action to do if you want to bet on sucecss that will make it easier to expain once it happens.

I think thats all I have there, sorry I cant help more.
>>
>>895691
You worked on the Fable Legends trailer about 10 years ago.
I just happened to work closely with some of the people who knew you from back then and your name came up during a couple of randumb coffee conversations some years ago (i.e. "oh yeah I knew a colleague who went back home to do porn"). I wouldn't say you're "famous" but it's still a small industry after all.

>A praise from a fellow industry professional should matter to you a thousand times more
Praise doesn't pay the bills, I'm afraid.

>where even does the desire to get into this field come from
>implying
I don't.
My frustration stems from a combination of things.
>retards making bank while not knowing what they're doing
>receiving endless praise from the morons who pay them
>said morons only really caring about porn and denying it
>me not wanting to do porn and cutting myself out of the game
Is it so difficult to accept that I think making two characters hump each other from 16 different angles is just not that interesting?
I'm tired of seeing some generic ass noisy smut render and read unironic comments like "omg your computer must've been whining like mario andretti's car on the mulsanne straight at le mans while rendering this one frame, how many days did it take you?" When in 2022 a photorealistic render of a complex scene takes 15 minutes on a mid-range computer if you know what you're doing. The same retard will then go and shit on the first professionally-made game/movie they see because hating on it is the cool edgy thing to do. I'm just so fucking tired.
Look, I just want to do shit, man. I make stuff for myself because I enjoy the challenge. I enjoy working my job because it challenges me, and it all feeds back into one another. If I made some extra cash doing so because people liked it, I'd be ecstatic. But life is fucking hard, man, you either need Silicon Valley salaries or loaded boomer parents to not be destitute in the first world in 2022, and I have neither.

>Oh, there is no talent in that. You are correct. ANYONE who has over 80IQ can pick up Blender/SFM/Maya/DAZ, learn over several years and produce content.
>Only limit is you. Only limit is the time you decide to spend on it.
This is probably the greatest motivation I've ever read to start. I've only just came here because due to spine injury and some form of neuropathy my hands are not what they used to be so 2D art is no longer an option and was looking at 3D as a suitable replacement. I guess as long as I can move a mouse around with relative proficiency and dedicate enough time I'm able to progress.
One of my buddies does texture work for a video game companies subcontractor and he started with blender for a couple years and now uses that + substance for the remote job. That's why he suggested it to me after getting fucked up.
>ANYONE who has over 80IQ can pick up Blender
I didn't believe it was that easy since I'm not a very technical person and all the tools looked massively complex. I'll give it a go, thanks anon.
>>
>>896164
honestly anon you might even be able to sculpt okay, it requires in general much less dexterity than drawing I found and you can always do stuff like turn the intensity on the move brush down for less needed accuracy.

Also there are lots of fields in 3d that actually don't need dexterity at all, you might find you enjoy doing materials and such in substance designer which is completely graph based and has no need to draw.

Good luck!
>>
Speaking of, I'm a 3D character animator, I use maya but willing to learn other programs if the models are good enough. Where can I find good and free/cheap porn models to animate with? Animating porn sounds pretty fun
>>
>>896212
If you want premade characters, you use either Blender with smutbase for free video game characters, or Daz with its own library of paid assets. But you really don't want to animate in Daz, it's a horrible experience. If you have some experience in the other aspects of 3D, mainly rigging, it's not all that difficult to get those rigs set up in Maya though, and might be worth the effort, if you plan on re-using them.
>>
>>896250
okay! I have very very minimal understand/experience with rigging, I'm finishing my BFA in these coming weeks without a job lined up, so figured porn would be a fun way to push my skills till I land a position somewhere, and if people like my stuff enough maybe make some side cash (though money isn't expected)
>>
>>896251
I highly recommend learning rigging to some extent when you can, as an animator. Even if you don't create your own characters, the skills are still extremely useful to poking around pre-made rigs, and improving them to your own needs. At the very least, learn how blendshapes work, and how they can be incorporated during animating, as those can be useful to throw in, to fix bad deforming due to lacking skinning in specific situations that the rig maybe wasn't designed for.
>>
>>896251
you wont get a job and it sounds like you have next to no skills. I reccommend getting a real internship related to your degree. Technically, you're supposed to get an internship in order to graduate.
>>
>>896253
my understanding of rigging is just the basic skinning. I can rig everything except lips and cheeks with pretty much ease both in fk and ik as well as a proper understanding of weight painting, but I don't know the special rigging that would land me a job, like the rigs you can find with a million different controls on them lol
>>896255
>tell me you don't know the industry without telling me you don't know the industry
Except here's the issue pacco, character animator specializations are wanted everywhere except at small in house places like advertisement. For movies, tv shows, and even some advertising companies they already have the rigs, you're just expected to make them move. Also, no you fucking don't need an internship rofl. At my college we have animators from the industry who have worked in pixar, dreamworks, illumination, as well as several game companies, and none of them did any of their own rigging or modeling. You're either a 3rd worlder or you flat have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
>>
>>896256
>You're either a 3rd worlder or you flat have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

anon, I live in the first world, have been in the game for over a decade, have graduated 3d school. You are the one without a job and without an internship. You have no place telling me that I don't know what I'm talking about while you are the one considering pornography while simultaneously asking incredibly basic questions. I should pity you, but its just too sad
>>
>>896256
>>896255
This guy is making pretty big assumptions about your animation skills, which don't necessarily have anything to do with other aspects of 3D, but he's right on the internship. Not only is it the easiest way into the industry and building up important contacts, it's also one of the best ways to learn. As long as you get a proper internship that is, and not some shithole that only lets you fetch coffee and food. It's not absolutely needed, but it is by far the easiest route to suffer through it. Almost all of my past colleagues started as an intern, with very few exceptions.
>>
>>896257
Oh trust me pacco, I believe whole heartedly. Of course someone that's currently in the industry that isn't in a 3rd world shit hole would be on 4chan at 6-9am typing to a random anon about how their college that's known for their industry connections as well as very well established professors is defs wrong! Ta-ta!
>>896258
True, it's a good way to start out, and there are non college internships, I just never took on while in college because as lame as it is to say, my university makes us literally pay for an internship if we land one, because it's considered using "their resources". And I'm not going to shell out 8k to my college (that i don't have because student loans won't cover that) because a business is interested in me. I'll be asking a few of my professors shortly where they think I can apply and would be a good fit. I'm (probably) not good enough for say pixar or dreamworks, but I'm easily good enough for netflix or other companies that are creating 3D animations
>>

It might be difficult to sell models of OCs to other people, but the content using them does sell. Personally I only use my own characters in my animations, and make over 12k per month, making niche fetish content. It did take almost 5 years to get to that amount. It took roughly a year to get to 5k per month.

Just making a solid easily modifiable base rig lets you do a good range of different characters relatively fast. All you need to do, is tune the proportions a bit with your now built in rig controls, throw in a new full body sculpt as a blendshape, textures and new hair, maybe some minor tuning on the skinning/corrective blendshapes, and so on. No need to make an entirely new rig/model for every new character. It's also beneficial, for maintaining a consistent style, that people can recognize going forward.

I agree so hard man! I was making 11k a month making DAZ renders in my free time, on my own terms but I felt so ASHAMED about it. Now I work in call center making minimum wage, but at least it isn't shameful!

Didn't this game come out. Is it any good.

If you are getting paid a wage, and the job is based on mutual agreement, you have eliminated the two innate qualities of slavery. Stop being a pathetic kike.

Porn career update.
I got my first Patron today after finishing up and posting a model I made for an animation I'm working on, so I'd say my adult anim career has started pretty well. I'm $30 richer at least.
I've got a few different porn animations in the works, and I'll be doing my first "dick spoof" (tentatively calling those anims "Dick Jokes") animation on 2001: A Space Odyssey.

No animations yet, but I'm hoping to have the first one finished sometime around the middle of next month. Then hopefully a more general audience will start pouring in.

I've been trying to carve out a niche into something I've got at least some interest in, while also trying to cast a wide net as well as targeting more specific audiences.
Shortstacks, furries, TF (with some TG in there), bitches getting it on with dogs, etc, I'm not really picky about fetishes I can use for subjects. Though I won't pretend I'm not a degenerate. I'm just hoping some people hop along for the ride, though I wouldn't blame people if they don't. I just don't wanna be another dude banging Overwatch models together.
All I'm saying is to temper expectations. Character animation (and modelling) is something I'm new-ish at. So it's still a learning process. I've been doing environments, hard-surface, and non-character animation for quite a while, so this is something new that I can hopefully leverage that experience on.

Sorry for the blogpost for what amounts to a Twitter handle, I guess I'm just on damage control already.

you got me 50% sold already. now you only have to deliver the first anim of decent quality in this and i might become a new patron lol

Yeah that's definitely the plan going forward. Part of the reason I jumped in was from seeing all these shitty animations with stiff ass interpolation and no appeal whatsoever (but still raking in some decent money), and thinking "I could do better than that if I really tried".
Obviously I've gotta put my money where my mouth is, but I think I've got better standards of what constitutes "good animation" than a lot of other people doing those same subjects. Seriously, some of the shit I've seen is just egregious in terms of "they'll be staring at the tits, not the horse floating in mid air with its knees bending the wrong way".
Whether or not those standards translates into a final product, I can only hope so. I'll definitely be putting the work in, and probably improving over time as I get familiar with the workflows and how to do character animation. Hope to see ya on the other side.
>>
>>904836
Oh yea good point, im an animator myself so ill be applying my standards to your content, it needs to be that certain level of good from a technical and animation principle point of view.
>>
>>904809
you know that bestiality in any form, animated or not, is illegal, right? Just like cp is illegal, animated or not. You didn't think this through, did you? You will pay a heavy toll for this, heh heh heh
>>
>>904852
Maybe in your country. Still doesn't stop the endless slew of knottings being posted online daily. Drawn or animated. We'll see how it goes. Besides, it's one of many potential subject matters. I won't be banking on any one thing. There's plenty of autists on the internet to cater to.

>>904848
Yeah I'm aiming for a certain level of production value. You know, literally any level of production value, considering most of the people animating these subjects have none.
Should get people hooked since they don't get it anywhere else. I'll be taking things seriously though and want to treat the whole thing like I don't want to be wasting people's time. I'm super picky about the shit that I jerk off to, so I'm sure there's others who are the same way.
>>
>>904914
ok an important question then, you know animo and his lara x horse content? What sort of production value do you think that has and how would you position your goals in relation to that?
>>
>>904966
>What sort of production value do you think that has and how would you position your goals in relation to that?
Yeah I've seen those floating around the interwebs.
From a purely subjective viewpoint (as if I were going to jerk off to it) and not like I'm a hot-shit animator, I think visually it looks pretty shitty. Super uncanny, bad lighting, and just gross to look at. There's definitely some technical proficiency there with the setups and I won't deny that, but something about it just rubs me the wrong way in terms of the whole thing visually. As stupid as it sounds there's no "art" to it, it's just fucking. Again, I don't want to come off as pretentious or anything like I'm super skilled at character animation, because I'm not, but I am saying that I like my porn to be pleasing to the eye as much as it should be pleasing to the dick.

That being said, I don't really think it's comparable to what I have in mind in terms of styles. I'm hoping to have more cartoonish animation, not in terms of visual style, but more something that you'd see from actual SFW animated stuff and short-films. While I won't have explicit "stories", most animations will have some kind of narrative flow that I'll be storyboarding out. Working in some slapstick and visual gags. It's still porn, but I don't want "what did you expect from a porn video" to be an excuse for bad craft.

Not to mention I find videos of just fucking to be really boring, "counter productive" as it may seem, I often just skip through a lot of scenes after a few seconds. So finding a balance and flow with fucking and "story" is something I'm going to have to figure out. Too many animations that try that sort of thing start out strong and then lose steam on the sex scenes and linger on them for too long. I get you're supposed to jerk off to them, so that time is there to do that, but I don't know the best way to explain my problem with it, or whether or not I'll be able to improve upon that.

>>904980
>>904966
I'm not gonna lie though, it might take some time till I'm at a level that I'm happy with. I can handle environments and all that perfectly well, it's just the character side of things that I've not dealt with much. Character animation is a skillset I've got limited experience in compared to my other fields, but I think my perfectionist nature will be pretty handy in brute-forcing something palatable in terms of animation. Like, I know what "should" look good, and if it doesn't I'll know. I might not know how to fix it or how to make it look good, but I'll at least know it's wrong and do whatever I can to make it better.
And as time goes on and I start to settle into things in terms of proper workflows and how to actually animate, things will improve. Starting up the whole porn side of things is just as much an excuse to practice a set of skills I want to improve, as much as it is to get some money on the side.
I won't be putting out anything I'm not completely happy with though.

Yeah I take Fri/Sat off to give my hands a break, but I also use those days to organize and create a list of things I have to do to reach a finished product. I've already planned out the general outline of my first anim, so starting tomorrow I'll be doing general passes at that as well as getting the environment in order. It's a smaller environment, so it won't take long at all. Though I will put as much effort into it as anything else, since I'll be putting any custom assets I make for the porn anims up on the Patreon.

>>905152
I think a lot of times, angles like that just might not look all that great, or people have problems with clipping and don't know how to solve it. I've noticed a lot of people doing porn anims don't have much experience on the technical side of things, so solving those problems, while easy enough for someone who knows what they're doing, are extremely hard for someone of their skill level. It's also often the case that their skill stagnates, since people are all too happy to reward them and compliment them for catering to their niche fetish, so in the eyes of the animator, they're not doing anything wrong. And anyone with valid criticism gets buried under downvotes and retarded comments from coomers.
Something I have noticed though, for as degenerate as they are, vore animators have a weirdly autistic grasp on the software to achieve what they desire.
