Well, you can apply dforce to anything. So provided it's not made in some retarded way, you can do that.
Before deforce, people either used MD and applied the new pose as a morph with morph loader pro, or people just added bones to the cape.

You can do it inside Daz, it's not too difficult.

You can also use blender if MD is too much, select the end points, increase the soft select range and lift it. It's far from perfect this way but if you just want it up then it's enough.
MD is the way to go though anyway, even dforce has its advantages of you wanna try a bunch of poses faster but if you know the pose already and just want it good, you will get way better results simming it in MD.

How do I import my own rigged animal character to daz studio?
>>
>>748225
The same old answer: computer scientists are linked to a slew of mental illnesses such as autism and poor social skills, while artists have another slew of mental illnesses such as psychosis and depression. This has been researched, studied, and proven, with q and p-values and the stuff.

A 3d artist, sitting in the middle, is more likely to be a psychotic autist with poor social skills and in a general state of depression. The worst of both world, if you'd like. I know more than my fair share of the type in the industry.

I think that is being cause by bad hidden JCM morphs being applied

export and fix the morphs in another program or remove JCM morphs using the geometry editor

Senpais, because reasons I need to export a Daz model to sketch-up I managed to make everything work with the exception of the eyes, they appear white. Apparently it's something related to the materials. Because every importer has the same error.

Lol this board is fucking dead.

In case anyone has the same problem I had the solution is to select the eye material in sketchup then in the material editing tab you have to put the opacity slider to 0, this fix the eye problem in the viewport. For also fixing it in your renders you have to select again the eye material and then in the material edition section of your render engine (I use V-ray 4.2 because I'm fucking rich) put the opacity of your material to full transparency and that's all. Daz models look surprisingly nice in sketchup with V-ray.

I export as base resolution, in blender i apply a subdivision surface modifier, do the changes I want, but before sending back to DAZ I remove the subsurf modifier. In there I sudbivide again using the sliders on DAZ.

Hi, I hope you guys could save some hours of web searching and trial and error. How the fuck I import a figure from daz to blender with textures ? They always came gray, methods I have tried:

Daz importer plugin: Just don't fucking work, gives a lot of errors in 2.83, gives the same errors in 2.79 and I would rather focus in using 2.83. I set the paths and everything correctly, it just don't fucking works

Daz export with collada format: Includes like 2 textures of 20, fuck ups the placement of my figures because for some reason it puts every figure in the same place

Daz export with FBX format: It fuck up everything horribly EVERYTHING

Daz export with OBJ format: The figures are exported very nicely, everything works but... no textures... no a single one. I can import the same OBJ file to other sofware without problems but no to blender

Not a daz scrub, but can't you just use the scene from the method which exports everything in the right place, and then add the textures from the method which gives you textures?

Yes and no. I personally pirate a lot of characters to check out their skin materials but many are worse than skin builder and I never use them again. A lot of people just use skin builder + an image editor.
SB can be a bit finiky. Get it, read the manual and spend some time making and saving a few skin sets to see how it works.

>How I motivate myself enough to learn Daz? Or any other 3D software for that matter
Daz is unironically more like a videogame character creator than 3d software.

First, everything you do will look like shit unless you know how to lighting. I'd suggest make things easy for yourself and pirate some lighting/hdri packs.

Then put in gen8female and make some poses and see it come to life with some good lighting.

Then consider do you just want Daz so you can coom, or to actually make money off it with lewds?

Most people already know this im sure but it might help someone. I don't create morphs often so sometimes when I need to, I waste a lot of time trying to remember the way to do it so I decided to write it down this time so I can just use it later.

Creating morphs for custom gen8 characters in DAZ3d with Blender

-Select gen8 char in daz.
-Hide everything except character in scene editor (eyelashes, geomorphs, clothing).
-Make sure base resolution (Parameters -> All > Resolution Level > Base).
-With the character selected, Export as OBJ, default settings.
-In Blender, Import OBJ, in import options make sure Keep Vert Order is selected (geometry tab)
-Make morphs, but take care not to actually add or remove any geometry. Only move verts around. You can use Subdivision modifier to visualise your edits but do not apply it.
-Select the mesh, export OBJ.
-In the export settings see image below, but the most important things are SELECTION ONLY is ticked, APPLY MODIFIERS is not ticked, KEEP VERTEX ORDER is ticked.
-Back in DAZ, go Edit > Figure > Morph Loader Pro
-Click Choose Morph Files, find your file.
-In the section below, press the arrow next to your morph file name to expand options.
====IF YOU WERE USING ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE ABSOLUTE BASE GEN 8 CHARACTER, YOU MUST SET REVERSE DEFORMATIONS TO “YES” ====
-Find “Reverse Deformations”, right-click on the “No” and change it to “Yes”.
-Press Accept.

If all has gone well it should work, if it says geometry does not match, try again and make sure you didn’t export something like the eyelashes with the file, and that it was on base. If you were sculpting in blender, make sure you were not adding geometry with something like the clay brush and only moving it.
>>
How do you guys design your characters when everything is so lightning dependant? Under one test render, her jaw is too sharp and manly looking. Under another with different lightning, her face looks as I intended.
>>
>>750787
Daz is basically a dollhouse simulator. It's the easiest thing ever to use. While some skills do translate to real 3d softwares, you can set a character in like three clicks, pose it in one, and load an environment in another one.

Expect an honeymoon period, followed by the slow realization that you're utter shit, followed by slowly getting better at the nook and crannies, stuff like materials, morphs, render setting (iso, f-stop, bloom filter), and lights.
>>
>>750960
Where can I learn more about the render settings? I only adjust the iso for brightness and dimness

subsurface material, less normal or bump since one of those is causing that.

And lighting matters. bump is probably a little too high on this too but I think it at least kinda shows what I'm talking about.
>>
>>751305
This will sound completely stupid but I am still not familiar with a lot of terms, what is exactly the subsurface material or how is it supposed to work?
>>
>>751306
subsurface is used for things like skin. Basically a little light goes into your skin in real life and bounces out which changes the color. It's also what causes things like your ears or the webbing between your fingers to kinda glow red when there's light behind, thinner areas have a more obvious effect.

Just youtube "daz3d octane subsurface skin" or something and I'm sure you'll find a tutorial to do it.

I downloaded a car model (fbx and obj formats) and would like to import it in to Daz as painlessly as possible. Preferably keeping doors/windows etc separate so I can change the materials assigned. What's the least painful way to accomplish this?
>>
>>751514
Inspect the model obj in blender, see how it's made.
Group together the things you don't want to move, group the things you do, doors, windows, etc. Check origins for pivot points although Daz fucks with pivot points a lot can't really guide you on that if I dunno how the models made

For materials, does it already have assigned materials? Assuming it's already UVd and does have materials, you can change them in Daz seperalty easy. Just go to the surfaces tab and find the surface selection for the windows.

In Daz you can also use the geometry editor to select polygons that you want to be a new surface, then right click and save selection as new surface, then you can modify that as you like.

All this depends on how the models made, if it's a huge mess it's gonna be a nightmare but assuming the author wasn't totally retarded, to simply change the window and door colour shouldn't be so difficult for you.

>export the whole scene into a different engine and maybe even render in real time
tell me more about it. what other engines?
>>
>>752673
I haven't tried yet but what about stuff like Unity or Unreal? something that you can basically set up to "play" while you just control some cameras and record with another software.
>>
>>752679
As with swapping to any other render engine. The hardest part is setting up materials.
>>
>>752681
Pretty much, but stuff like DAZ Studio already has UE export integration I think.
>>
>>752681
>>752679
right now am fiddling around with daz. creating assets and morphing waifus for random poses. if i could import all my creation into unreal and still achieve same render quality ill give it a go. maybe use the char for running around or simple animation within ue. ive seen people doing it.

unrelated question:
i have a bodysuit thats clipping over body parts when folded next to it due to smoothing. turning off smoothing solves that but leaves skin holes on the bodysuit. how do i solve it?

Can an anon help me out?

Somebody posted a utility in here a few months ago that allowed you to limit the amount of morphs loaded into a scene at one time. Can you post a link if you know what I'm talking about.
>>
>>753154
I'd recommend you just use the windows explorer to move morphs out of the main morphs folder before you load the figure. That's the best tool.

"data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs" is the location. Remove everything but the "DAZ 3D" folder. Inside the "DAZ 3D" folder there will be "Base" "Base Correctives" etc. Those are the required morphs. Put the morphs you're not currently using in a holding folder.
>>
>>753157
Thanks for the tip!
>>
Is the scene optimizer plugin the best thing to use to like
Inspect your scenes to see what's taking up how many resources?
I'm dabbling in now doing larger scenes and I and dealing with longer render times and want to know what to cut out. I know a big thing I figured was make sure if I have someone out of focus in the background, don't be retarded and make sure their subD is set to base
That was a real lightbulb moment for me
>>
>>753157
Can you elaborate on what this does? So you mean every time I make a character I cut and paste out all the morphs, then when she's in scene I cut paste back? I don't understand
>>
>>753061
You can export meshes at whatever subD level you like. Make sure it's set at high resolution before you export.
>>
>>753227
You can't, the rigged mesh with morphs applied is always low res
>>
>>753226
All the morph sliders for Genesis 8 Female are just files in "data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs". You take a file out of that folder and it's one less morph slider to load. DAZ loads all morphs at once when you load the figure and it kills load time and performance if you have many hundreds of morphs. You do not need to have most of them in that folder until you want use them. When you want to use them save your scene, move the morphs you want back into the morphs folder and reload the scene.

Is there any way to convert G2 morphs and textures to G8?

Does anyone here sell daz products?
I'm thinking of making very specialized models and selling them in my own website, but I'm afraid I won't sell shit.
I'd like to hear of other creators experiences, no matter where you sell (daz, renderosity, renderotica, own site...)
>>
>>753907
If any published vendors do lurk they will never admit or self identify. Being associated with 4chan can hurt your product image. Even if you sell dicks on renderotica.

i remember 3-4 years ago i would see clear HQ render of curvy women on DA and i would have the same reaction. later on when i got into daz i realized how easy it is to slide couple dials for the waist and mask the G8 base mesh in zbrush for that dress. it is just a 3-4 hours of chill relaxed waifu modelling before you end up with that result. but i guess you can say it is not the intricacies of modelling that captures these coomers heart, but how pleasant to the eye the final result is. and i do find hear pleasant to look at. the dress could use some decorations tho.
>>
>>754026

alright folks on another note should i ditch zbrush and 3ds and focus heavily on MD to design clothing? im still no expert in neither of those programs and my workflow is just masking/selecting polygons off G8 base mesh and extrude them to form fabric clothing mainly body suits. i have not yet poured hours into zbrush beyond that and im willing to learn MD if it facilitates the creation of clothing more. im planning on putting up some of those for sale too later on. your thoughts?
>>
>>754030
>various software
The tools aren't very important in the end as long as you are producing quality results. I've seen some great results with MD though.

Still looking for a solution to this, it has to be an option on the remesh procedure but using a lower voxel size only makes the whole thing "heavier" instead of just the area I need to preserve.

I need a good souce for old (maybe XIX century?) shoes for G8F.
There are plenty of dresses from that time for V4 all the way up to G8, but none of them come with shoes.
I've found some "steampunk" clothing options that come with shoes, but they are a bit over the top.
If anybody knows of a product that fits the description please tell.
>>
>>753558
There's a couple options on this, from what I can tell.
1) All-in-one package like this: https://www.daz3d.com/character-converter-from-genesis-2-female-to-genesis-8-female-
I don't have this, but it doesn't seem to transfer materials.

2) Use Generation x2 to copy to G3F, then xtransfer to get that to G8F, which could introduce errors in the morphs being copied in multiple

You'll have to use Blacksmith 3D texture transformer v2 to copy to a G3F base, then manually apply the new textures on the destination figure.

There's a few demonlike wings on the Daz store, I'm sure one would match what your looking for. Just search demon or devil.
Cos they are attachments you can use ones from older generations too and just update the textures a bit if you feel it's needed.

I guess I'll give it a try then. A real try this time. How exactly difficult is to modify an already existing model? I guess that is kinda easy from what you told me? Or do you need to mess up with the rigging and all that stuff. And yeah, I'll just probably use it for coom. I'm doing this basically because I already saw all the stuff one of my most niches fetish has.

Have you even opened up the software dude?
Download Daz
Use the Daz install manager
Install all the free morphs
Then YouTube how to use morphs
Then wow you can 'modify" your model
You can take a model into your 3d software if choice too, then use that as a morph
Or you can pirate a bunch of morph packs like most people do and just use those instead
You don't need to mess with rigging if you are creating your own morphs in a another program at all, you only modify the mesh then apply that as a morph. YouTube creating your own morphs for Daz.
If you just want to coom, go to the pirate sites and see what gets ur little dick hard and download it all and try it all

>>
>>755484
Some very good things are on renderosity. Excellent dforce dress/gowns, remarkable lingerie, or even stuff like Sangriart, who makes celebrities lookalikes.

Arguably, there's also more subpar stuff than in the Daz store.

In my experience, the Daz store has an "adequate" to "excellent" quality throughout. While the renderosity store has a "horrible" to "excellent" quality level. The two do not often share the same stuff, so checking the renderosity store is absolutely necessary.
