There is a good, long thread about it over at GLP

https://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message3136315/pg1

So many people describe this location the exact same way. Endless amount of stores that seem to lead into one another directly, steep escalators where the laws of physics don't apply, difficult or impossible to find exits, seems to exist as a city of some sort unto itself, often connected to or close by a similar University World or Library World, etc.

Some people, including myself, sometimes enter it through what appears to be a giant manor type house where the inside consists of just endless shops and stores all connected to one another. The inside seems infinite even though the outside seems to have a normal size. There are way too many people online describing the same place for it to just be coincidence. It isn't just that we all go to malls and our minds make this up. The actual geography and layout of the place is the same for many people.

Anyone here familiar with Mall World?
>>
>>22677136
Never been to mall world but I fuck with its aesthetics
>>
>>22677165

The place is usually very beautiful and surreal. Like a labyrinth inside with just endless stores and people. It really does feel like a different dimension that is more real than this world.
>>
>>22677136
>never browse /x/
>has had dreams of a mall world for years
Holy shit OP, I thought I was alone lol
>>
>>22677136
I’ve dreamt of being in massive mansions full of unique rooms with seemingly no exit and every time I found an exit and escaped some sweet looking nurse would escort me back in. And even if I escaped into the city it was surrounded by dense dark forest with winding paths that never end. The rooms in the mansion varied from classrooms full of people, malls, huge balconies and high ceilings with literally hundreds of chandeliers, golden swimming pools, old run down wooden rooms, forest rooms, hospitals, to dorms.
>>
>>22677240
Same here! It is one of those things that you take for granted until you realize how many other people are visiting this same place. It is a mystery definitely worth exploring more!
>>
>>22677217
Kinda reminds me of mallsoft a subgenre of vaporwave, it's dreamy reverb heavy mall music that hit it's height of popularity around 2016

>>
Yeah. I’ve had this dream a number of times. A common theme is that there’s a store I find that has graphic novels or obscure movies or something of the sort at a ridiculous price. I’m always short on money, so I wander off and find my mother or wife or whoever it is in the dream, and ask them to spot me some money. When I get back, I either can’t find the store again or it looks like it has been closed for years.
>>
I have as well, although it changes frequently. But the recurring notion of endless rooms, plazas, stores, etc is definitely there. Most recently had a dream of an endless/and twisting religious academy of some sort, mainly empty and quite creepy.

often times I am able to drop down a vast open middle (I assume) section into and out of different themes/structures/and whatnot. I’m always inside of it, never outside as far as I can tell
>>
>>22677262
I haven't read into it but I'll briefly describe those types of dreams:
-A closed system mall, mostly underground or else the rest of the world is gone (postapocalyse)
-usually a sense of surrealism, I am alone but there are shop owners and other people
-no normal ways to enter or leave
-lots of abandoned junk stores, everything is holding up but seems a little run down
- I can leave the dream by finding a "tear" in reality. Last time this happened, an Asian dollar store owner told me to check the back of his shop. I saw a ladder, above it was a ceiling tile with light pouring out. Climbed out into crazy psychedelic space and woke up.
>>
>>22677136
Yes but it's full of sexy women and we bang
>>
Ive had a dream about mall world. It was on a cruise ship and there were many pools
>>
>>22677136
Let me guess, most of the Mall Worlders are Gen Xers and early Millennials/
>>
>>22677262
it isn't really a mystery anon, all dreams draw from your subconscious. so long as you aren't opposed to the idea of a collective consciousness, that's the simple explanation.
>>
>>22677136
you've stumbled upon a den of spiders.
>>
it's actually the nest of extra-realities spider like beings. They make their nest in the souls of conscious beings in the lower dimensions like ours. It only appears to be a mall, because they use it as camouflage, the people in the mall, and the mall itself, are all spiders and spider nests. They are star spawn of old archons.

Yasa I've bine to mall world many times I remember the courtyard but it was spooky and spider webbed and had zombies

Glad I'm not the only one here who experiences this regularly.
I've never had an unpleasant dream there, the worst I can say about them is that they seem almost a little too saccharine.
>>
>>22677136
Endless mall yes, but it was in a zombie apocalypse reality. Every time I died, the dream would restart and I could do something different if I wanted. Pretty weird lucid dreaming without knowing as a kid. I don't get 'em anymore but they were pretty cool.

No, but I have a memory of a dream where my parents took me to a building with a large atrium, where I felt some sense of having a special aspect of myself nurtured. Oddly, there's a late 80s album I first heard at 18 that evokes the same feeling.
>>
>>22677992
What is the album?
>>
>>22677547

I've had lots of dreams in Amusement Park World too! It always seems just as bright and colorful as the picture you posted but the rides seem surreal and move in bizarre ways. Lots of dreams of being on rides that are supposed to be something I've already been on, like the Haunted Mansion or Jungle Cruise, but totally strange and different from the rides in real life. Sometimes it seems like it is always night in Amusement Park World but the colors and buildings are so amazing!
>>
Maybe there was a giant mall/forum in ancient times and the people that dream with it are dreaming about that part of their past lives. OR it's a vision to the possible future, a city mall where many people will live.

And the most bland option = people are dreaming of malls because malls are a part of our daily lives, even if you just go there once a month it is enough to trigger a dream about an exagerated mall.
>>
>>22677136
Sometimes I find myself in the back alleys of Dead Mall World. There are underground access tunnels leading to them underneath High School World and Creepy Hotel World.

i have vague memories of visiting a strange place as a child.
somewhere that my parents would never have taken me, and somewhere i have not been able to find in real life with thousands of hours worth of searching online.

all i really remember is that it was a large apartment building or an old shitty hospital, very white and sterile looking, with some wire fences to cover the windows, we were on the 15th floor or so.
everything was painted white, and the weirdest part... there was small 'doggie doors' we used to crawl from room to room.

i feel like we were there for a 'planned appointment' as opposed to a random quick visit.
but i was really too young to remember (probably 2-3 years old)

that is really all i can remember..
asked my parents about it, and they called me a schizo idiot.
>>
Perhaps you make these images yourself because you have seen many malls. I live in a city with medieval buildings and have seen some beautiful architecture and often in dreams I see classicist buildings
>>
Lol, Roger from American Dad lived in a mall world! Maybe you watched it and brain does it's thing. Never had a mallworld dream, when I was young it would have been my dream come true!
>>
>>22677136
It's the central hub for alternate dimensions. You can only get there in a dream.
>>
Actually yes I recognize that picture. It was full of college age kids. I stopped a mass shooter when I was there in my dream.

Same shit with a giant hotel is pretty much my recurring dream

Usually going into some big elevator in the hotel also

What does it mean?
>>
>>22678312
I just made this post without reading any of the other posts,

and then read this post

>>22678073

Redoing high school and being in a creepy hotel are my 2 common recurring dreams, but I can say I've never experienced this mall one
>>
Source of this is simple. Shopping and capitalism in general is becoming so ingrained in the human mind that it has become a construct in many peoples minds, just like most other common dream scenarios.

It's psychology, not connected dreams.

Like how everyone has an anima and animus that are similiar, like how we have similiar nightmares and dreams to begin with. And why people of one part of the world dream more about something in particular than another.

Our mind is embracing this as a natural phenomenon even though it is a reproduction of something that is artificial.

We still maintain individuality though, even though there is a light hivemind effect. I bet these people go to at least one store no one else goes too, even if it is similar to others. Enough sharing in general should reveal this.

And dream physics work the way they do because dream =/= reality. While it is true that all of your dreams have the same escalator physics, the fact that they are so weird is the same reason that clocks and most electronics don't work in dreams on a fundamental level. Fully artificial subjects are hard to fully identify with. This is true for elevators, escalators, books, clocks, and anything else solely manmade. The fact that books are still in this category suggest that this is unlikely to change.
>>
Weird. About a week ago I had a dream of a type of mall world, but it was a giant casino with an open layout in the middle and must have been 10 or so stories high, so you could see the different floors and people walking around above. This enormous complex seemed to be located in a desolate tundra, as outside of the huge windows you could see bare, snow-covered mountains and it was snowing slightly. The entrance was on the ground floor and was this huge industrial style metal door like you'd see in a James bond villain' s facility that seemed very out if place for a fancy casino. Very weird that I just had this vivid dream and then found this thread.
>>
Them be the vents my dude. Pretty good place.
>>
Interesting thread, I've dreamed of malls several times, but it's always the same mall which is half-baked on the one near my house. It has a pretty interesting architecture that sometimes folds into itself but no great physics laws are broken.
>>
>>22678540
you've lived in the same area your whole life? that's so wholesome and sweet.
>>
>>22677136
I've been inside the mansion type place. I think it reminded me of a rich university in some ways though. Inside the dream I passed by a group of people wearing cloaks but they couldn't see me. In the dream I could shapeshift into various types of reptiles like a lizard, and then a snake. It was... Odd. Mostly because I rarely meet other people in dreams like that, I'm usually either by myself or with people I meet IRL. Normally not around crowds or groups.

I don't see a mall, but my most recurrent dream location is The Hotel. It basically looks exactly like this, from the white steel and glass roofs, to all the open trees/rivers beneath, along with a lot of escalators and elevators. There is a floor of rooms near the top I find myself at over and over; though most of the place is nice, the rooms of this floor is drab and dull, with olive green and orange walls and funky wood-tone accents. You can tell it's near the top because it's so stuffy up there and the ceilings are so low. Anyone else ever seen this place?
>>
>>22677136
>Anyone here familiar with Mall World?
Well. Sort of.

I don't dream about this recurring place anymore that I'm about to describe, sadly enough, because I had an emotional, odd sentimental attachment to it.

>be me
>be at indoor mall
>one-story mall looks normal as fuck
>go down dim, indoor brown brick alleyway
>turn corner of alley and see small, big doggy-size door at the end that opens like a normal human's door
>open door and crawl in
>enter huge, red, carpeted hallway, the walls and ceiling are red too
>see toys, dolls, Nerf guns, bean bags along both sides of the wall, it's a mess
>see kids and some parents playing in the hall
>walk down hall and turn corner, more hall
>at end of more hall there is a huge, dim arcade room
>arcade room looks like a big school gym, but with concrete black floor, black walls and black ceiling, looks like it's lit by spooky flood lights
>arcade games lined up against all four walls and in circles
>tall ass standing basketball hoop sits in the middle
>there's a door on the other end of the arcade
>door leads to another red, much smaller hallway
>only a few kids are hanging out there, no adults working at all
>there are red office rooms everywhere like a maze
>i enter one office and it is a surveillance room
>the monitors show cameras installed on the ceilings of each mostly empty offices with the occasional kid popping in here and there

Pic related is the best way I can describe the aesthetic, surreal feel of the place.

>>22678675
I've had a strange dream once of being chased by men in suits in a huge hotel corridor where every door was opening and another man in suit would come out and float in my direction.
>>
Ive dreamed of worlds and have seen the huge shopping malls but they are all near to closing time and are all empty or people leaving, closed shops with a film of dust on the counters like once it closed it never reopened. This world also has the mansions but in my dream world when I enter them they all seem like a party just ended and everyone left.. ballooons still floating down along with confetti. but Ive never seen a soul in them or leaving them. Just emptied of whatever was happening when I enter.

in this world there is one house/mansion tho that I try not to go into anymore The outside is just as beautiful as the next but inside it as yuo explore it it changes.. from stable and bright in the front part f the house to feeling like walking on soggy bread and the smell is of old things moldering in corners the further back you go.

dream worlds suck

>>22677136
This is fucking weird OP, of all my recurring places in dreams, Mall World is the most frequently visited. Your picture is spot on to how it was set up on a basement level for a while. I remember it being the arcade for me. As far as my guesses as to what it is, I would bet it is the tower of babylon. Why? It always feels like it houses all the souls of the world in its residential section, and I always have it appearing like a giant tower in my dreams. Fuck this whole time I didn't know how many people have been there as well. Too creepy, but also excitig.

I mentioned that I have had dreams of Mall World, but I've also had dreams of Hotel type lodging where there are only young people present. I noticed during these dreams that there were very few people over a certain age.

I also had an idea called La Planète Musée they could be related to each other.
>>
I had my first dream of been inside a mall a few months ago. I was inside the mall but quickly made my way outside.

I was been followed by some type of security or guards. They had bright uniforms and riot gear.

Once outside there were highways bridges over the mall and a lot of smaller shops. I ran away and jumped from the top of a building bit landed safely on the ground.

I ran some more and got to the parking garages filled with cars. There I met other people that were waiting for me to make our scape away from the city. It was in a parking garage and we all got in this super sporty fast car.

anyone have dreams where you're basically "in" computers?
sometimes its in a videogame which generally sticks to the perspective the game presents (ie occasional 3rd person dreams) but when i go on the internet in my dreams i always get sucked into a world of rectangular boxes and planes basically "covered" in web pages where other "avatars" like yours float around with you and read and talk.
sometimes things get really complex and it turns kind of videogamey, like when i dream about 4chan there is always an infinitely sprawling plane of boards to click on that open like a door when i "click" them by thinking about it and fly through.
i also had a lot of "Mall World" dreams of different types.
Anyone here had any "Parade Street" or "Ivy University" dreams?
>>
>>22678979
ok reading more about "Mall World" i havent been THERE often thankfully but i have been at a sort of "High-Tech Flea Market" world, pretty hard to explain, it seemed more like an art and performance showcase in different mall-outlet/market-stall looking spaces stacked on each other to an unknowable height with a big light-blue "anti-gravity" beam in the center that you jumped in and out of to go up and down at will.
main difference is that i never felt a need to escape or buy or steal anything, like it was all just there for looking at anyways
>>
>>22677136

Modern life is so bereft of meaning, that the only joy most people get is in shopping. Hence, the Mall without end in the dreamscape. Sad!
>>
>>22677136
I've dreamed that I was on a tram (like half life) and I saw a city that reoccurs in my dream, the people are a diverse lot of aliens, octopi, raven, dog, estra, the colors are so bright, I don't feel tension and conflict like on earth, it was a very nice place

I once had a dream that I was in a massive mall carrying a leftover box of food from the food court when, suddenly, the puppets from Puppet Master showed up and just started slaughtering everyone around me. It was chaos and people were running for their lives and screaming to escape the bloodbath while the puppets just ran around butchering everyone in different ways. I ran the hell out of the mall, still holding my leftover food, and noticed that Duran Duran was playing in a stadium in the distance so I ran towards that. I never made it inside before waking up, but it all worked out in the end.

I've noticed that the housing areas of these places seem to run directly one to another. Like you would have to go through one person's home to get to another and so on. Everything seems very beautiful and peaceful, although it is usually empty and there are no people in the homes. It also seems to directly connect to those other places like University World, Library World, etc. I can see it as the Heavenly City that encompasses all potential worlds that we only access in dreams while still in physical form.

Quick rundown:
The: "Mall-World" is one of the many central points of the city of God (or whatever you want to call it, I call it Goddess) is an infinite city of unimaginable technology, created to house each of the sentient beings, in there is no need for that place, since it is the perfect city, God's master plan, Christian believers call it "New Jerusalem", the infinite city is that it has no end, it is transformed according to the will, there are no laws of the physical there, is a masterpiece, Goddess created that city for the beings that manage to escape from their planets/cradles and transcend their physical bodies, it is a masterpiece, of the fractal type, "as above, so below" that is why it is infinite, because there are no larger or smaller scales, the city exists on all scales at the same time

I had this dream last night, no lie. I swear on it.

I don't remember much, but I remember being able to jump very high, but the momentum of the jump would just leave me falling back to earth on a slow arc. Then I realized I can fly if I emit energy out of my hands and feet for propulsion like Iron Man does, haha.

Same here! Flying Superman style never seems to work. Have to push from the palms of the hands and it almost feels like two magnets repelling each other. I can also levitate and fly if seat cross legged and floating around with the third eye area directing the motion. Very unusual how so many of us experience the same laws of physics in the dream realm.

what the fuck, I dream about this atleast once a week, sometimes its like episodes with continuations

No, but I have something similar. I will dub it "Hotel World" because it's essentially the same thing except a hotel. Amazing grand architecture, seemingly impossibly long hallways and also seemingly infinite rooms. There is also a sort of basement area with a ramp that has some sort of a night club esque place, it's really chill. Then there's a part of the Hotel World that turns into a full sized movie theater complete with the lobby and concession stands and all. Dreams are so weird but amazing at the same time.
>>
>>22677136

>>
>>22677136

>>
Mall World
>>
>>22677136

Um. Yes. How odd.
>>
Holy shit yes, especially the endless amount of stores and food options that just seem to run together. Plus "dream architecture that would never actually be possible, such as floors far too steep to safely descend or impossible to ascend, sprawling water fountains, in fact entire massive halls of water fountains and pools and floors resembling waterslides that just sprawl seemingly into infinity in certain directions.

The whole thing has a sprawling and seemingly endless layout of multiple floors and wings and just kind of seems to go on forever in all directions, plus up and down.
>>
I have visited Mall World many times in dreams. There is also:

>Mansion World
>Hospital World
>Hotel World
>Underground Bunker/Military Base World
>Factory World
>Space Station/Planetary Base World
>Grocery Store World

All are labyrinthine and seemingly without end.
>>
>>22677136
I had these kind of dreams too:
>Giant mall with tons of stores around
>Architecture inside makes no sense at all, electric staircases leading directly into stores, no food court but still a shit ton of restaurants around
>Everything was really bright and clean.
>There was an arcade in it too (lights were off there, I suppose it was closed, kinda creepy actually)
>All the other shops were cool tho
>Plenty of people around
>My ex whom I broke up recently was there with her friends, I felt sad and guilty when I saw her, she totally ignores me.
> this feeling makes no sense because I was the one who broke up with her, and I don't regret doing it
>Felt really alone in there. I don't know what it was. I never felt alone in my dreams before yet there I felt like I was left behind by humanity or something.
>HUGE sport store full of shit I wanted (I'm a /fit/fag)
>An enormous botanic garden where I had a healthy sandwich for lunch.

I know I sound repetitive but that feeling man, it just hit me again remembering this shit. Have you ever felt truly alone? Like when something is going really really wrong and NOBODY is there for you? That's the best I can describe it, I don't know. Felt like a child who lost his mother.

try going to the upper levels. you'll find mall world there.

Isn't it weird how these places like Mall World always seem so easy to enter but so impossible to find the exit?

I also visit what I call 'Fountain World' which is an absolute Roman patrician's wet dream. Endless hallways of pools and fountains, steep floors and waterfalls, all in a very clean marble setting that goes on forever in all directions. It's lit with warm golden torches and plays gentle harp music. The closest I can compare it to is the Great Fairy Fountain from Ocarina of Time. And it's just full of the most beautiful women I can imagine, all naked and young and healthy and waiting for me to breed them all. There are redheads, Nordic daughters of vikings with snow-fair skin and golden hair, ebony queens with massive fat asses and smooth skin. All these women have perfect bodies and chat amongst themselves in little groups but smile and giggle as I walk by. They begin to spread their legs and fingers their warm, pink little pussies as I wake up.

anyone read big non-fiction picture books or text books in dreams and basically "jump in" to the pictures like a big pop-up book as what youre reading plays out?
or the "super zoomed out view of the universe quickly zooming in to a single regular perspective" trope? usually never takes center stage in the dream while its still happening and usually just teleports me between contextually similar worlds but it trips me out when i remember it.
>>
I always go to an Island World too, but it isn't like a tropical island at all. It is sort of like an alternate dimension version of Catalina Island in California or something. One time I was on a giant submarine that was taking tours and looking out the underwater portholes. I was amazed at the stillness of the ocean floor beneath me when out of nowhere, it was like an entire horde of Huns or something on horseback went galloping across the ocean floor on horseback. They looked spectral and ghostlike. It was a very bizarre and beautiful thing to behold!

Had a similar dream, but it was an insanely large prison, school and mall combo.
It was a place created to "house" things like vampires and other monsters.

The dream started with me killing someone, but getting captured and sentenced (millitary tribunal style), then transported to this place. Like you describe, it's very mall-like, but massive. Lots of shops, lots of "people" underground classrooms, almost museum like display rooms too, only they have actual real world environments in them.
One I looked into was a snowy forest. There was a 10 ft tall by 15 ft wide glass window so we could look in at it, but inside was a whole world, somehow. And there was a literally endless hallway, filled with inumerable rooms like it. All with windows into different worlds.

The classrooms were pretty intimidating. They were like a bomb shelter, but ancient. Like if a nuclear bomb shelter had been built in the ancient world, with ancient materials and arcitecture. And they all had a few of these "people" in them. The classes all seemed to be about teaching them to act more human, but it was like a bootcamp. They were all afraid or hopelessly deppressed.

There was also a multiplex. I remember it vividly, and it had massive aecitecture. Hundreds of theaters and the creatures all gathered there more than anywhere else. That was the most frightening place, because borderline gang warfare happened betqeen the creatures in the long, dark hallways between theaters.

The dream was surreal, but vivid as fuck. Only one dream so far, but I'm hoping for more.
>>
>>22677136

YES my most vivid dreams are in super malls with endless cooridors and people posted up at bars drinking, shopping in narrow stores, ignoring me as I sprint through the endless turns.

I also have dreams on an even bigger scale where I am on a vehicle of some kind in a super advanced compound, zooming between what look like generators or turbines. Feeling acutely aware of an alien presence of some kind.
>>
>>22677136
Sounds pretty comfy. Much better than the backrooms.
>>
>>22677255

Have had this sort of dream many times too. In my dreams, I thought it was my fraternity house from college, but it would be haunted by female demons or ghosts in endless hallways and rooms. I’d always wake up wondering how the hell i got convinced my old rickety frat house was so much bigger than it really was in my dreams.

With all the shit I've read i this thread, I have to wonder if it's not some kind of alternate reality that some of us either come from, or contact.

Like, it's a place that has literally everything, and you can find your way into other realities from there. Kind of like a matrix that you willingly enter, only instead of a program, it sticks you into actual alternate realities.

I don't know...

Would make an interesting story though.
>>
In my scenario, the Earth is torn apart and people live on (and in) the various chunks

One of the chunks is a mall. A giant mall. The Great Mall.

People from all over the parts of the world come to the largest collection of stores ever. Built on (and into) the asteroid, there is an almost limitless amount of stores. It never closes, and anyone lucky enough to work there has the option to live in its housing area (unsurprisingly nice too).

This place is the Disney World of a broken planet. What remains of humanity dreams not of an amusement park, but a city-sized mall.
>>
>>22683309
There really is always an odd sense of "being home" whenever I dream of these places. It feels like the Mall World is the central hub where all of the other different "worlds" connect. It is always strange when the dream geography stays the same consistently over many years of recurring dreams. I dream of a huge mansion that enters into a sort of endless hall of merchants and rooms and I know intuitively that it is due East of here and there is a cemetery just underneath it down the hill the mansion rests on. So many recurring dreams in the same place. This reality we inhabit is truly mysterious!
>>
>>22677136
ive had dreams of a mall like place, usually very lucid where i can fly to wherever i need. mall world sucks because theres always awesome hard to find stuff there like weird plastic model kits or lightsabers
>>22678675
also seen this exact place except with large glass roofs over the outer oval part where the shops are, its huge like three times the size of the place in the picture
>>
>>22677136
Walked into a Fred Meyer in Oregon my family shopped at when I was 5 or so. The makeup department continued on into an endless shopping mall
>>
I usually hang out in the arcade section of this mall world. There's a second where you enter, turn right, and you'll be led into a dark laser room. In front of the entrance is a small buffet. The rest are video games and ball games, not the most fun experience but I enjoy eating there.
The clothing is really out of style with a lot of stuff on sale but I can never find what I want. There's a nice little ice cream shop where you can eat acai flavored "balls of galaxy" (which are sugary ice sculptures filled with acai and berry flavored ice cream). Not my favorite thing but it is pretty tasty. The parking lot is strangely small for such a huge mall and in the middle of no where. A little ways southeast is a bridge that goes into my world, a beachside town that merges with a swamp based in rococo towards the more touristy region and oriental minimalism up the hillsides. There's even a nice little park with streams and stuff. Come visit if you can :)
I'm also familiar with Amusement Park world but I spend less time there. It's dangerous walking the crowded roads because it's on the streets. They have a pit for motorcycles and plenty of strange spinning roller coasters but it's not my thing.
>>
>>22683140
I also remember a zombie attack in mall world a really long time ago. Me and two other dream friends of mine were running away from all the bloodshed and chaos but we got stuck in an elevator shaft. Went down into a basement and some crazy guy used the elevators to crush us.
Painful.
>>
>>22683085
I've also been in Grocery Store World. The last dream I ever had with my dead best friend was in it. I followed him around the place and eventually met him before he left. I told him I was sorry for anything, everything and he shook his head, looked outside as if contemplating staying then told me he had to go. I hated it. I wish I could've spent more time with him in it. I wish I had the courage.

Shared dreamscape.
Created and stability maintained by the minds of many dreamers. Key factors separating this from standard dreams:
1. Level of detail - extremely high
2. Number of people - way, way more than regular dreams
3. Quite stable.
4. Safe - not nightmarish at all. Might be some "far out" and "weird" elements but no harm comes to anyone.
>>
>>22683546
>2. Number of people - way, way more than regular dreams
also, less "NPCs", like you can immediately recognize when another person in your dream is a real person either living or dead by pure intuition rather than a humanoid prop
>>
>>22683554
^^^This^^^

There is a definite difference when you can just sense the sentience in the other dream people. They aren't like the regular characters that are NPC automatons. They really have their own independent sentience and awareness. Everything about these dreams just feels more "real" than reality here. As if the world there has been going on forever and will continue to whether or not we are present in it.

In my mall world, I can only recall extremely tall, like several hundred feet, ceilings with massive archways and pillars, and the mall itself seemed sprawling, immaculate and mostly empty. I don't remember anyone, but I think there might've been this mall guard dressed in a bell-hop uniform that I saw. There was a movie theater inside that I think I went to a few different times. I did have a nightmare in the movie theater once when a bunch of diseased-looking people shuffled in, looking like they were sick with krokodil addicition.

I've very rarely been to Mall World but I have once or twice, here's what I remember
>The mall has a ring shaped design that appears to extend indefinitely upwards
>There are huge escalators as well as strange elevators that only have "up" and "down" buttons, no floor numbers
>The stores are all along the outside of the ring they are massive and connect to each other, but it's always clear how to get back to the innermost layer of the ring so you can walk around and look at the storefronts or take the escalators
>As you go further away from the center (where there are enormous crowds) the products become more niche and there are much fewer people. If you go even further, there are empty rooms and hallways with virtually nothing in them, but if you stray down them, a kindly employee will appear and whisk you back to the mall proper
>If there's something you're looking to buy, the elevators will take you directly there. Rather than the feeling of the elevator knowing what you want, it's rather the feeling that you know you can make the elevator take you where you want. But if you leave the store it brings you to, it will be unbelievably difficult to find your way back there.
>There is a huge lobby on the ground floor with few people in it and no shops. It has a comfy aura and has benches to sit on to wait for friends. This is the "entrance" but there are no doors and no hint of an outside world. Rather, when you're here and intend to leave, you simply find yourself no longer in Mall World, and possibly simply wake up. If you want to return to the lobby, you will always find that you can, though it might take a long time. Basically, you have to walk through the huge mall for a long time to get there, but you "know" you're making progress, rather than having that feeling of dread that you're in an endless maze which happens in some similar settings in dreams.

Okay this is freaking me the fuck out. For the past 2 years I started having this reoccurring dream world that has a mall. The mall is mostly the same but obviously can have slight differences since it's a dream.

The front of the mall has a medium sized parking lot and has 2 push-pull doors. It's a 2 story mall and I think the stores inside of it relates to events and places I have been too/experienced. I love my coffee and I usually see Dunkin donuts kiosks in the mall, but ever since I've been starting to quit coffee the kiosks are gone now.

On the first floor is a smoke shop, I used to work in a smoke shop and in my dream I would usually go inside the smoke shop in the mall and smoke this weird herb that would get me high in the dream. The shop always made me feel at home for some reason, I don't smoke weed anymore and I don't work at that place but I still feel at home.

On the second floor is alot of fun stuff, like a bootleg GameStop, a huge arcade area, a place that is like fye (it's like a mini toys r us for adults that sells music) and sometimes there is a mini rollercoaster in the mall too. But Everytime I dream of the mall I love to run through it and go into every store.

Maybe it's my brain remembering moments in my life in a fun way. I hate it when I wake up because I usually don't dream about the mall often, I might dream about it 2 times a month. But Everytime I do it's relaxing and i hope to dream about it again soon.

I'm very intrigued that "jet propulsion" works for both of you, since this is one of the common strategies I employ after "Superman style," but it never works. Superman style works for me slightly, with brief and wobbly flights, but propulsion-style does not. When I try, I feel as though I'm pushing streams of air out of my hands, but not nearly enough to fly, though I can sometimes very briefly levitate. When I'm already flying and want to speed up, however, it works wonders.
The strategy that works for me when trying to fly requires visualizing a kind of "immediacy" between by mind and body.
It's basically the same feeling that lets you control your body parts. When you raise your arm up into the air and move it around to various positions, it's not like you're consciously applying "force" to your arm in order to "push" it to where you want it. Rather, your arm just IS part of you, and it just MOVES. There is an immediacy between your will to move your arm and its movement.
To fly successfully I need to imagine the same thing. I don't apply "force" against the air or into my own body. I simply move my body through the air as naturally as I can move my arm through the air.
It becomes so natural sometimes that for a short time after waking up, the feeling that I just CAN fly persists, and there's a sort of mildly uncomfortable feeling when I (obviously) can't actually do it. Sort of a "phantom limb" type feeling except obviously nowhere near as severe because there's no legitimate damage causing it. Just mild unease that completely subsides in 20 minutes.

>4. Safe - not nightmarish at all
It's deeply interesting to me that the accounts of Mall World in this thread are very consistent on this point with the sole exception of multiple accounts that specifically describe zombies. There are tons of things that can go wrong in dreams, but Mall World is immune to them all - except zombies. Why is that?
Also here's an unrelated question to everyone who's been to Mall World - did you buy anything? If so, how did you check out? Were there cashiers like in a traditional mall? Did you pay with money, card, etc? Or was there a more esoteric way of paying? I'm curious if other people had the same experience I did.

I was there in the night, flying through the wall with my crush. there were some panel and door mechanics reminded me of a game. wasn't super crowded, but was a nice dream.
>>
I was gonna say no but then you mentioned University World which reminded me that I do often visit a giant school in my dreams and one or two times we had some kind of fair going on and the school changed into something much more mall-like. I don't know about the escalators, I'm stuck in a wheelchair. I guess I could hop out in my dreams but it just never occurs to me. There were elevators, though, which often lead to pretty spooky places.
>The actual geography and layout of the place is the same for many people.

I dreamed of mall world a few days ago. And one guy I approached told me that all dreams, our reality and psychedelic experiences are connected. Then I wandered through the mall and I saw security or police and a small man with glasses and a mustache trying to stab me but my body was to hard. Then I stabbed him in the heart and everyone in the mall was cheering:“Yeah! You did it!“
The vibe was very nice. 10/10 would dream of it again. I felt welcome and at home.

This is a great point. It seems that nothing bad happens in Mall World except the occasional zombie invasion. What gives??
>>
>>22685065
I think I know.
Invader Zim
Left 4 Dead
Dawn of the Dead
They all feature this theme and they're all pretty popular. But then you could also argue that the zombies were there before pop culture put it out for the masses. To that, I say that I've been in an underground tunnel that connects to my Mall World. There's some semblance of a military in *my* Dreamscape (though I'm not so sure about an actual government) and they try to contain zombie outbreaks but since The Mall is in the middle of buttfuck nowhere, it's less contained than the urban and suburban regions.
Outside of the more popular regions of the Dreamscape, things are much more dangerous and one of those dangerous are zombies roaming the decrepit regions where, even though people still visit, are in deep decay.
Malls are slowly dying as people prefer local small shops or buying online.
>>
The mall for me was a roughly 10 stories tall and equally wide both ways (cube) there was a parkade wrapped around it and we arrive in a sports car with a girl sitting in the middle and the cops directed us down a couple levels and I entered into the mall which was like a lavish mansions full of my friends and others, very luxurious and everyone was partying.
Even though the mall was large and visibile from the highway, normal people couldnt see it, everyone was permitted to post on social media about it but always using different names and words to hide the mall, later we were all in the pool and very sickly people came in and placed leaches on each of hands on the opposite of the palm, which turned into massive sores and burned. we had guns and jets and fancy cars, later the sky was full of a massive storm that was like a massive energy surge that struck towards where the mall was

Like, say, eyesight, intensity of dreams, whatever the underlying reality under them is (common culture from a pure materialistic stance, collective unconscious, shared astral experiences) is different for everyone. Extreme cases are rarer, but they do exist.
I suggest that you pay attention to the features of your contact that are not shared with other people; pay attention to those, and reflect on what they might mean.
I would recommend a Jungian analyst if you can afford one.

I once had a dream that I was in a suit in a big house, I remember looking down at the floor which was a hard dark chocolate coloured timber in a long hallway, I look into one of the rooms and I see a girl (Most probably a teenager/young adult wearing blue jeans, facing the other way towards the window, she had long blonde hair going down her back and her bed was covered in a zebra stripe pattern, then I remember walking down the hallway again, dream was weird.

I've dream of mall world for years until my teens, always thought it was normal as I grew up basically in a mall since my mom worked on one and I was almost daily there. But the mall in my dreams is creepier, there where parts of it that would lead to stairs, those stairs would get you under the mall where a humanoid being lived alone. Said being looked like a girl, but dirty and with her mouth covered in blood. Inside my dreams I would refer to her as the vampire. The maintenance room, staff door, or basement/storage room, all would lead to her. And she had the loneliest, saddest expression but she would chase after you yelling bloody murder. Last time I had a dream with her in it. She was put behind a glass box, with bodies scattered under a messy floor, with her moving around like a trapped lion

...I can't clearly remember this dream at all, but I also remember a dream where I was at a "school" I know it was a school just judging by the general layout, and I remember the building I was going towards being all silvery with big glass windows and all glass elevators and all sorts of shit if I can recall correctly.

The only difference is that I'm not walking through this lit up, amusement park like world but I'm driving through it. I always seem to be the only person driving and come to think of it, I don't remember seeing a road. Sometimes the path in front of me starts to do a loop like a rollercoaster that ends up getting me nervous and panicked then I wake up. Strange that some of you anons are experiencing similar, if not the same thing

I have been to the University world mostly. When I am there I know intuitively that it is a giant spaceship. There are huge open areas with fountains lined with benches and multiple levels of stairs and balconies that are also large open areas. It is appears to be made mostly of marble or something similar. The 'ceiling' is domed but looks like a window and is usually at least 100 - 200 feet in above. It's always full of people.

Once I made it out of this very steep open air market world to the surface streets, I found myself in DockWorld, where there were a bunch of boats tied up but many of the boats were derelict and most everyone, especially people aboard boats were hostile to me. The sea stretched out into the distance but it was almost the same color as the sky so I couldn't make out the horizon and since I couldn't get aboard a boat there was essentially no escape.

Forgot to mention how I entered this Amusement park world. Normally my dream starts where I'm pulling up to an extremely large, white building on a green hill that at first glance, looks like a mansion. I pull up and a red carpet goes from the road, up to the front doors of the hotel/mansion but the building has no steps. I decided to just continue driving through the hotel/mansion, even though I feel like I shouldn't. Once inside the building, I pass by rooms of colorful lights and at the end of the path is a large stone archway that turns to the right. After emerging from the archway, I'm in Amusement Park World

I have been having reoccurring dreams in a mall setting for years now. Nothing bad ever happens there, well except for zombies. This is really weird though, because I have always wondered why I have so many mall dreams. The mall always looks different too. I even remember wandering into shops in some of the dreams, such as a bookstore. I already mentioned detail, but damn. The people all walking around, the different books on the shelves. Gamestop is another (very detailed) one I can remember visiting more than once in mall world. It's just really dawning on me how many mall dreams I have had, too many to remember. I think I have been to hotel world once too. It wasn't fun. There was some kind of party going on and I think the place was packed with Brazilians. The hotel started on fire after a while, and I got out of there somehow.
>>
With me, it's visiting places in my home area and surrounds that don't exist. I'll walk down a street that is entirely residential in reality, and find a small parade of shops, or be walking down a street and notice a shop that isn't there. On one occasion, I even drove out of town and visited a huge garden centre that doesn't exist. Nothing unusual or weird ever happens, I just walk around and chill.

Malls/ shopping centers are fairly common settings in my dreams. Maybe because they're literally full of different things and connected to lots of things we encounter in day to day life (as our waking life informs what we dream about, so plenty of things we encounter everyday would make sense to appear in a mall).

I love these dreams, I often go lucid in them because I want to cast and interact with stuff or fly around because its a highly stimulating environment. Usually lots of people to have fun with, too.

Idk about my malls being connected to houses a lot, but I do know many of my dream settings incorporate elements of my house or give the feeling of being set in an altered version of my house.

I think it's just a common dream theme/ setting because its something we encounter a lot or things we interact with daily have come/ are sd in such places, inspiring the setting

You just described vaporwave and there is no sub genre required beyond that

It’s just vaporwave, lot of dickriders out there trying to appear involved by making up shit like this

Don’t be that guy at a party trying to make up a name like mall-hop or whatever when everyone on earth calls this vaporwave - check Wikipedia ffs
>>
I have not experienced mall world but I have experienced things people say they experience in mall world in the real world and sometimes dreams. Example being extremely low gravity perceived gravity and accelerated movement and perception of time.
>>
>>22688902
I've done this as well. I hate that urban area. It's in a bit of a peninsula and there's a hotel where they try to murder you if you reach the top floor. Extremely dangerous. I've never been here in the daytime.
>>
Yeah this has happened to me enough that I've told people about it, i wonder if it's just an mmo for sleeping people.
>>
>>22677351
Maybe mall world is reality (or at least the layer above this one) and it's a giant mall built snowpiercer style to house the remainder of humanity, and the Asian is peddling some psychedelic VR matrix shit in his back room for us to escape from the confines of the mall

Yoooo, when I was little I was always going there in my sleep. Had a baby velociraptor some carney came through selling one time. Now that I think about it, I used to have a few other recurring dreams I can't remember, but now whenever I try any sort of lucid or astral stuff, I get an uncomfortable tingling sensation on the right side of my neck that gets too much to ignore after a while and distracts me
>>
Mall workd is for people who dont normally dream. Their brains think of consumerism all the time. Dream entities built it for them so they can also gain from our mindset. Very few people (in comparison to those who dont) remember their mall encounters. Theres so many shops because of so many desires.

When we enter mall world forever there should be something there to free you. This is why people have kids, it makes the attachment string smaller and you can move to next dream quicker.

The best dreamy dream state is when we are finally tested with the attachment of self. The more kids you have or legacy you leave, the longer you can enjoy or suffer in this state. That's pur goal as humans. For the time between the next life to be super great, so when the next life strikes our souls will be fiery and ready to conquer the vessel its given.

My dreams are usually in relation to metal other worldly heads that show me things. Just last night had a dream about the moon breaking apart in cloves like a citrus fruit. Then it started changing, in the dream I explained it to scientist as a the moon connecting to different dimensions and taking their form. One looked like an expanding mass of lego.

I've been to a Walmart esque massive building, with an amusement park outside of it. Cute women were outside and child hood friends and familiar people were inside.

Maybe I'm close to escaping material poverty in the waking world, or I'm stuck forever and my dreams are attempting to motivate me to a differant path.

Humans are as much as the environment too. We are a natural species and our high rise buildings and pollution factories are all of earthly nature. We come from the ground, not the other way around.
>>
>>22685101
What was the movie gir checked out in that episode? Blockbusters are IRL deepweb movie theatres and it's why theres literally only one left in the country. What would a mentally defunct AI checkout to learn from such a place.

Why are cartoons secretly passage ways into the mind of man?

Anyone ever have a dream about a massive apartment building in which there’s a party going on in every floor, but the only way to access other floors is via ladders on the outside of the building?

My brother says he has that dream a lot, and I used to have it as well.

I’ve been to a creepy hotel before! It was super creepy too. I was there with a friend of mine and we were in a theatre watching some sort of play and discussing how we were going to solve the hotel murder. We split up and I went from room to room where all the inhabitants were fucking ghosts or lunatics and shit.

It was bretty good.

I do seem to vaguely remember a dream where everybody was running around and I was trying to get somewhere in a hurry but I don't know where or why everyone was so panicked. I remember being in a sort of medical bay in a different dream, small rooms with only one bed and large glass windows with glass doors in them facing out into the 'hall' area where there were a bunch of plants and fountains and more benches in the middle with more of the med bay rooms lining the other side. The room I was in was near the end of the 'hall' and there was a large window at the end of the hall where it was only the black sky lit by stars. The ceiling here was only about 20ft - 30ft high. I remember being on one of the beds then getting up and going into the hall and sitting down and talking to someone who I believe was a doctor.

I've been to dream malls. Stores weren't connected but some were huge, some small with niche stuff. But holy shit, the food court. Like 15 stories high, super steep escalators. Shit was nuts.

Different anon, but I frequently had museum dreams as a kid, I would call it "The Fun Museum"
I don't know if you ever went to children's museums or play museums as a kid, but it was very much like a giant version of that.
And I've kept dreaming about it long after my parents stopped taking me to those places and I grew up. My most recent one was when I was 19 or so.

I've had similar dreams, I wonder if they come from memories of being a child and feeling overwhelmed by a large, bright, busy place. Like a mall or a carnival.
>>
>>22687192
Not the barn part, but I've ridden down that slide.
>>
Yes I've had dreams like this usually it's some futuristic looking mall or a mall that feels like an endless underground tunnel. Often it connects to schools I went to as a kid or giant movie theaters. Being in the actual theater is insane, watching the movies feel like you're living them. Going to the city in my dreams is the craziest shit, every building is this giant menacing tower of iron every street is impossibly long and sometimes it ends up turning into an anime convention or something. One time I had a dream I was at school and there was a shooting and me and some people were in a hallway and I decided to just bolt out of the school and as I was running it turning into my backyard and I ran so fast and hard I woke up because my heart beating so hard and it took some minutes to wear down.

no recurring but my second ever lucid dream took place in a giant mall.

Me. Something like that. It is always a big building of some kind. Always at night.

I frequently have these mall dreams. And I can’t go out when I need. I will be in the dream and wanting to go out for a cigarette and can’t find exits. Where I would think there would be an exit is a giant floor to ceiling glass window instead.
>>
>>22677481
I had an amazing dream about being there with my dad, my older sister, and my brother. that accounted for maybe half or two thirds of my nuclear family at the time.

I guess it's about the third most memorable dream in my life. I was honestly so disappointed upon awakening. real life simply can't compare.

I think it represents heaven.

The real Mall World has areas that are closed off to the public (under construction). The real Mall World also has a vast parking lot and multi-layered garage that makes it difficult to find your car. And when you do find your car and "escape" Mall World, you return.
>>
>>22693766
And your car will have headlight problems or been sitting for a long while on the side of the road and it is surprising the engine fires up. There will be a passenger who you think you know but do not and cannot recognize his face.
>>
There is a restaurant in the Mall. Kind of like a Applebees, Ruby Tuesdays, or Fridays. The restaurant is only another random store inside the Mall. You will not know it is a restaurant until you see and interact with the hostess. Her podium is on the normal Mall walking path (maybe on a 2nd floor or higher)
>>
>>22677136
Hotel World is connected to Mall World. Numbers.. weird hotel room numbers. Expansive hotel rooms. Gigantic and HUGE suites. Nothing particularly fancy and one floor and wide. Sometime people you know are there. They are getting ready for a party or an event. You choose not to go and hang back at the massive one floor hotel suite. They wonder why and the dream STOPS

Anyone have related dreams where you pull thread or string from your teeth or gums? Looked it up and A LOT of people experience it. Curious if related to MALL WORLD. Suddenly you start pulling something from in between your teeth like corn or orange pieces stuck. Then you keep pulling and pulling and sometimes get a spool of floss, wire, string, spider web or whatever. One time others in dream crafted a silky quilt from my teeth pulling. It is usually from top of middle front teeth.
>>
This x thread is definitely connected to the multi verse. Reminds me of the movie Coherence.

No but I've been to Airport World many times. In one instance dream physics broke trying to process the sheer amount of NPCs that were generated in the airport, so all the people except myself were frozen in place.

"University World" for me is always centered on the valley where Western State College is (Gunnison, Colorado) but extends indefinitely in every direction. Follows the basic land contours but everything has been covered with buildings, fields, inexplicable water features, etc.

I feel like I can guess ages by some of the descriptions. Most of the Mallworld I see is outdated and slightly run-down...probably because when I was a small child in the late 70s, that's what most of the malls were like. (Fuck stagflation, amirite?)

Mine have been more nightmarish or stressful, there. In one I was following around a dark haired girl. But she got bored of me and walked away, ghosting me, and I couldnt find her.

Others have been on rides like log rides through rapids, or spinning ones that never stop.

It's not a mall I dream about but familiar but very strange houses and neighborhoods. I usually stay the night in one. Nothing weird ever happens but makes me feel like i'm a kid again with how mysterious and huge the interiors are.

I only saw mall world once or twice but I've been to school world multiple times and the school was made up of areas cut from other schools I've been to and put back together in a unique way. The layout was consistent between each dream. I'm really curious to see people draw a map and check if the layout is at all similar to mine. I'd like to draw a map of my own school world but I haven't been there in a while and I'm not sure how good it'll be. However, I would definitely be able to compare a few general locations of rooms and such.
>>
haven't dreamt about a mall world but when I was a kid I used to get recurring dreams where I would pace the halls of some never ending old people's home. I'd never see anyone but there would be rooms filled with people's belongings and I could always smell that care home smell, like bleach and overcooked cabbage. It looked very much like the backrooms pictures with yellow and green washed out walls and patterned carpets but it never felt sinister or anything, just endless like I couldn't get out.
>>
>>22678675
Sort of. I had a dream of something like your picture except it was like 15 stories high, had walkways around the edges of each floor, sky bridges walkways, escalators, and a glass elevator slightly blueish green glass. It was my college dorm (it didnt resemble my real life college dorm at all, of course), a sense of knowing told me so. Instead of shops, there were many doors leading to small rooms around. Each "Silo" was connected on a couple sides to hallways that would connect to another "silo". The color scheme basically fits.

In that dream I was searching for something, wandered a bit, was on the top floor, and hooded figures tackled me and pressed their hand toward my belly button. Felt like getting stabbed by fingers there.
>>
I don't think it's Mall World but I've had multiple dreams where I'm in the same Mall but the only things I really remember is that there's some sort of cage that's extremely tall in the media section of a Sears-like store and the Barnes and Noble was like one giant tunnel that didn't end and some shelves were also really tall.
