I've been using an Android Nougat phone with an micro SDHC formatted as internal storage, never had a problem with the card. Suddenly it stopped working properly, some apps were not loading, I assume the ones that had data written to the micro SDHC. I thought the card got corrupted and just had to reformat to fix it, but when I try it on Android i get the error message "command failed" and in Windows I can't format it because it's detected as "write protected".
Any ideas how to fix this?

If it won't format then it's broken, and if it's broken that's why it stopped working. There's no fixing this, just buy a new one.

ok
thanks

Did you flip the switch on the adapter, that little lock thing might be what's making it write protected.

yeah, I also inserted the micro sdhc directly into the appropriate slot in a multi adapter and still can't format it, tried EaseUS, diskpart, partition manager, only thing I'm yet to try is linux but I think the card is gone for good.
Thanks for your help though
