That was the episode when I dropped the show. The plot turned into completely incoherent mess and this was just "Ok, this is going nowhere, they are going to just pile up more shit and try to pull emotional shit without actually making it engaging"
Then friend of mine told me they've started to travel in time. Definitely a good decision to drop it.
>>

>Implying there was any point keep watching after Mr. Eko dies
That show managed to jump the shark by 2nd season. The really surprising part is that it took people another season or two to realise that and they are duped into another X-Files kind of deal, where the plot never was planned and never got any sort of resolution, but the ball was rolling as long as people were convinced it has some purpose other than win the ratings war.

>they are going to just pile up more shit and try to pull emotional shit without actually making it engaging
Agree. For me the breaking point was 3rd season finale. However many people are praising the show for exactly these moments which are charged with emotion without making sense. And there's many of them. Also notice all three of us (presumably) think our tastes are good enough to call other fans out for liking something we consider pleb-tier but each one of us has different opinion on the time the show went to shit.
>>
>>2494938
But anon, at this point, so many years ago, when the dust and then another layer of dust and cobwebs gathered, it's pretty much a common knowledge LOST was this absurdly bad show that got great ratings solely because it was going something new and fresh, without any idea where to drive itself. And then EVERYONE copied the formula, so the original one got caught in an avalanche of look-alikes.
Remember how suddenly every show needed to have flash-backs and convoluted plots piling up questions? And how all of them got cancelled after just one season, so nothign was achieved or resolved?
Either way, LOST was always this awful series that initially had originality on its side. The thing that really fucked them up sideways however was inability to keep writers within the show. There were in total over 60 different people writing that shit. So it was pretty obvious from about season 2 they will be unable to answer anything and just adding more and more crazy mumbo jumbo just to keep the ball moving.

tl;dr the show was always bad, it just took the hype to die for most people to realise that.

So you dropped it after seeing the first few episodes? Or do you have some convoluted reason to justify you watching entire seasons while at the same time doublethinking yourself into hating/not caring about it?

There's interesting account made by one of the writers https://web.archive.org/web/20150527022211/http://okbjgm.weebly.com/lost/the-lost-will-and-testament-of-javier-grillo-marxuach
Obviously its a wall of text so I'm just gonna post some interesting pieces I harvested from it;
>the Rand. Corp (Dharma Initiative) was initially named "The Medusa Corporation"
>Locke being "warped, frustrated man whose mystical experience as a result of the plane crash had brought him to see himself as an enlightened figure whose destiny was to be revealed on the island"
>Damon Lindelof knew right from the start the island is a nexus of conflict between good and evil
>idea of Nazis using the island was pitched in
>every MacGuffin Losties find needs to be grounded in reality
>"You sow the field of good ideas with the dead bodies of bad ideas."
>pilot was already made and still the idea was that the entirety of the show will be happening on the island (no flashbacks)
>"we came up with many other notions which would eventually come to fruition in series" for example "the concept that the island could summon the presence of figures from the castaways' past (like Hurley's friend from the psych ward and Jack's father)"
>"The "jungle creeps," who eventually became "The Others," are a good example of our struggle to find viable stories when the network continually pushed us to deliver a "grounded" and "believable" show that went to sci-fi as little as possible"
>there were wild ideas floating around such as giants ants destroying food supply or intelligent dolphins attacking the survivors - all of these werent incorporated because of the network

tldr the network saved the show from the writers

>Oh so you are one of these folks butthurt over not getting every single question answered...?
Not him, but they never were even trying to answer at least 10% of questions. They just kept adding "new, mysterious elements" never thinking what to do with them or what for adding them in the first place aside just "mystery". It simply got boring at certain point.
And it's not really rocket science to realise if a series about piling up mysteries is written by constantly changing team of writers, there is just no way to get a coherent story out of it. It just leads to classic Chris Carter effect.
Not sure when the original anon dropped out, but I lost any interest by season 4. When the island disappeared in the finale, I decided this makes for a great, if unintentional end of the series and never bothered to watch any episode after that.
Turns out years later writers admitted they had no fucking plan. Not just during production of later seasons, but ever. They just wrote this whole thing by the seam of their pants.

Here, ftfy. Then it break all records in ratings and they were given free hand.

>Still defending that stinker
What fucking for? Seriously, what for? The series went from half-decent modern Gilligan's Island to complete clusterfuck within the spun of just two seasons and that's common knowledge to everyone at this point, fandom included. Vast majority of elements thrown into it? A complete bullshit that existed as distraction with no real purpose other than "oooooo, so scary/mysterious/weird" angle. The entire plot collapses eventually under the sheer weight of all those meaningless elements added to the series on the fly.
And here you are, pretending it's the best thing since sliced bread, rather than a series that lucked out in the first season (and due to reverse of typical trend - it was station's executives that salvaged a pile of garbage, not creators being smart) and then carried on the momentum till the final, in the process being single-handly responsible for all those horrible, horrible series of the mid to late 00s where everything was mysterious and secretive and had half a dozen retarded conspiracy theories behind it. Hell, I would argue it was responsible for success of AMC, because they were the only station not following LOST formula and thus people flocked to them, because they were the only people offering actual variety rather than another show about step-flashes in mirror universe to solve the mystery of mysterious secret.
>>

>absurdly bad show

So which one is it?

And why did you even bother typing all this out instead of just quoting
>some convoluted reason to justify you watching entire seasons while at the same time doublethinking yourself into hating/not caring about it
cause thats exactly what you have been doing so far. Theres no shame in admitting you used to be involved heavily in this show. I dont understand why is it so hard for you.

... because I wasn't. Why the fuck I'm suppose to admit something that's not true?
And yet, despite I had nothing but disgust toward this show, I had to endure it leaking all over the place and watching how every single fucking series tries to ape this piece of shit.
It's the same as with The Walking Dead - saw grand total of first two episodes. And they were pretty fucking bad. Then it exploded some year or two later into being "biggest shit out there" and we had a mini-revival (no pun intended) of fucking zombie genre, despite being literally force-feed that shit ever since Dawn of the Dead remake and 28 days later came out in 2004.

tl;dr fuck that shit and fuck everyone aping trends, making TV series worse each time something like that happend.

Welp, it seems it's hard for you to get enjoyment out of things which everybody else is praising. Happens to me sometimes too.

For the record, I do think the first 2 seasons of Lost are the best thing since sliced bread and do think no other TV show so far has been able to even compare (perhaps except Twin Peaks). I'll also add I wasnt there, or anywhere else for that matter, when the show aired. I torrented it I think 2 years after finale.

True Detective was fucking glorious and everyone was always praising it, so go figure.
And I loved the shit out of The X-Files, mostly because I very early realised they don't have any plan or plot, but had enough episodic stuff going to keep me hooked and enjoying myself.
I loved ER, despite it being a high-budget soap opera. Hated House, MD, mostly due to how absurdly formulatic it was (seriously, how the FUCK this pile of repetition managed to produce more than first season?).
Loved the shit out of Breaking Bad, aside the final season (which was just forced due to ratings and money at the stake, rather than wrapping things up in 4th season). Absolutely adore Better Call Saul, because it took all that made BB good and made more of it, while carefully ommiting all the bad things. And most importantly, it has a clear ending marker, so they can't just keep making it indefinitely.

In other words - LOST managed to turn me off from the get go, as a premise alone. I would watch it, if it was Robinsonesque stuff. Instead it was this big, stupid mystery show going from nowhere to nowhere, resolving nothing and not even trying. Just pilling up mysterious mysteries is shit-tier writing, as observed on both LOST and the countless copy-cats.
Also, I have another reason to dislike it. Jerycho was in plans for almost a decade. And when they finally green-lighted it, LOST had a full swing on the industry, so naturally Jerycho turned from a solid premise of The Day After: The Series into LOST, but IN POST-APO! Fuck that shit, they've ruined the entire fucking premise and series with it.

I will suck your dick if you can tell me this song from Drag me to Hell. I don't believe it's in the soundtrack.

Sometimes particular music, no matter how iconic or important for the whole movie, isn't included on OST, for no fucking reason.
Like pic related. This is THE music piece of the entire movie. The most important scene. The most important music bit.
Not released on OST.
Why?
Because fuck you, that's why.
>>
>>2527397
To put it into perspective (and using music by Poledouris) - try to imagine Klandathu Drop, Rock Shop or Riddle of Steel was never released on OST

Never saw the movie, so I can't exactly help you. BUT - what plays during credits? If it's a variation of that music piece, you can just rip off the audio from the file and have your piece.
This is how I have "my" music from Friedkin's Sorcerer. When Tangerine Dream released OST, they've re-recorded all the music, so it sounds differently than in the movie. Hence I prefer the version of "Preparing the Trucks" from the movie (all the sounds of car repair included) to the OST version, which is just "off".
>>
>>2527420
nah the credits are something else and on the OST. can't really rip anything because there is always talking through it.
>>
>>2527430
Go find a version with separate/multilanguage track with dialogues. Then just mute the dialogue track.
There is ALWAYS a way to rip things off. They might not sound great and they will end abruptly due to how the scene cuts, but that's the easiest way to just brute-force through an issue.

It sounds a LOT like Ludovico Einaudi's stuff, but he doesn't usually have strings in the background. If you like the style, not just this one song, check him out.
