Reposting from the bottom of the last thread:"Anyone know why a fresh install of gzdoom would just not allow inputs at all, once a game is started? At the menu everything works fine. But if I load into any map whatsoever, the controls no longer work. Not even esc, so I have to alt+f4 or alt+tab to quit. I've tried multiple release versions now. It was some antivirus software I have that scans for programs doing weird injections/file creations, VERY HELPFULLY not telling me when it is blocking a program from doing so, like it's fucking supposed to. Disabled that and it was fine. If anyone googles this problem later and wants a solution: it's probably either this, or some other overlay that is interfering with the gzdoom inputs. Apparently Discord and maybe Steam, maybe also Teamviewer type shit can do it. I have played Doom for years, but haven't gotten very good at it. I've beaten UV pistol start Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Master Levels (>cabal series), Evilution, Plutonia, and NRTFL. Currently stuck at map5 of Sigil.I am very tempted to try mapping. Should I do that, or should I get better at the game first? I am worried that I might create some unbalanced trash if I don't know what I'm doing.

So far I'm really liking Ion Fury. I think they improved a lot with the enemy design since the preview campaign. UV seems like just the right amount of difficulty. Anybody tried quake in VR? I have a quest and the port there works really well, not to mention this game is fucking crazy in VR. I'm still flipped out from getting snuck up on and from my first time seeing a shambler up-close and personal. Had to let him chew on my boomstick since aiming is a bit tough in VR (no sights and I don't turn on the added laser sight, though I might start doing that). Still, a really fun way to play, and amazingly even works for multiplayer on the servers I've tried. Just a shame there isn't anybody playing when I check, or they require absurd amounts of add-on shit to be downloaded.

Well after finishing the first zone and getting to the future cops HQ I have to say the game is good buuuuuut-performance is all over the place makes me question if I should keep playing and wait for some possible fixes in the future-crossbow seems weak at least on the second difficulty (two shots to kill the yellow guys?, really, civvie?)-levels are beautiful but they are so busy visually and the enemies aren't that visually distinctive so they end up blending in the background half the time-fucking spiders are everywhere and are annoying, as well as the small flying enemies, the pistol lockon works well enough but still annoying

I'm playing Quake 2 with the music off. The prisoners cries of insanity and pleading for you to kill them is extra upsetting when you don't have that industrial music thumping in the background.
