Games with Infinite Replay Value.>pic relatedWhy do people whine about new releases, modern gaming and sequels when there are retro games that never age, will always be fun and take years to master and do challenges in?
Replaying games is for autists, didn't you know? God forbid the average zoomer does the same thing twice his brain will disintegrate without that constant drip feed of shallow engagement and novelty.
>>5435575>>5435586The hatred for zoomers and love for replayability shall unite the future racing bros
>>5435586Wipeout is great too, still run the N64 version from time to time.
do romhacks count as replayability?
Infinite replay is among the reasons why fighters are the best genre.
>>543559290's had some great arcade racers. I prefer XL and 3 to 64 but that one's good too, especially on the actual hardware since you need the n64 stick's precision.>tfw all the best replays have garbage qualityhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLQtob-MQCQ
>>5435606>fighters are the best genre./thread
>>5435586we can't have one fucking F-zero image or thread posted without this retard screeching about Wipeout?
>>5435575>Why do people whine about new releases, modern gaming and sequelsDopamine addiction
>>5436265Lol. I started noticing this too.
>>5436274How is that different from arcade games?
>>5436265>>5436274It's the same with Mario Kart 64 threads being flooded with Crash Team Racing and Diddy Kong Racing anons.
>>5435606There should be a distinction between single player and multiplayer. There are droves of games from many genres with infinite replay value in multiplayer, the players are the ones that make it interesting/good. It's vastly more difficult to come up with a single player game with infinite replay.
>>5435610Rollcage Stage II was an awesome racer on the PC. The Scramble Mode was amazing.
>>5436274dopamine tolerance to be more accurate, but yeah, this
>>5436274They hop from game to game never getting deep into any. and when they do they barely manage to finish on default-normal settings, while using dozens of continues and savestates. They'll gush about some character or how much they LOVEEEEEEEEEE some series, but ask them a basic question about level mechanics or boss strats and they go blank.
>>5435575WORMS ARMAGEDDON for me
Any score-based game, time-attack game, or multiplayer game really.
>>5435575The only positive thing communism has ever done.
>>5436265The fuck's wrong with you? How is posting a game I like in a thread where it's relevant "screeching"
>>5437631There are multiple well done documentaries about Tetris if anyone wants to learn about how socialism almost even ruined Tetris.
>>5437818I'm guessing he's an asshole that doesn't like Wipeout.
civilizationdragon crystal in my game gear late at night wearing headphones when my parents thought I was sleeping. good timesnow there are better options as far as civilization and rogueshit goes
>>5437818>>5437824Lel, fuck right off. Every time F-Zero is posted some guy comes out of the woodwork to post about Wipeout and how it's better even if the thread had nothing to do about the quality of the game. We had a thread about the our favorite F-Zero character recently and he came screaming into that thread too.
>>5438353Okay but >>5435586 didn't do that? Worry about that shit when it actually happens you schizo.
>>5435586I am familar with F Zero but never played Wipeout. Whats the definitive order of the series?
>>5438356He didn't do it here, but i've seen it in literally every thread thats been more directly related to F-zero. This thread only used it for the OP image while discussing a different topic and the first reply had a wipeout pic, so I just put two and two together.
>>5438356>it wasn't me >;)>ignore all my past shitpostingWe know it's you retard, you use the same lingo every time.
>>5438360Back to your containment board. You've been found.
>>5438369I have legitimately never posted about Wipeout on /vr/, >>5435586 isn't even my post.
>>5438360There's no such thing besides maybe the chronological order, otherwise the games are very different. Wipeout 64 might be a good starting point since you like F-Zero because it has very responsive handling without the inertia that the other games have. Otherwise you have distinct styles, 1/XL/3 have similar kind of gameplay mechanics but 1 has been surpassed by its 2 sequels and there's no point playing it first. Then you have Fusion which is its own thing unlike any Wipeout before or after. Then you have the new series starting with Wipeout Pure the mechanics of which were used for every other Wipeout game since, albeit heavily tweaked so you're still getting a different experience if you play Pulse and Omega.
>>5438373then don't get involved in the conversation.
>>5438364>>5438353This display of mental illness though
>>5438376Literally all I said was >>5435586 wasn't doing what >>5438353 was worried about. That's objectively true and doesn't require being involved in any previous Wipeout shitfliinging on here.
>>5438379No ones falling for it, Wipeout anon...
>>5438395Yes anon it's all an act to make it seem like you sperged out for literally no reason like an insecure manchild, you've figured it all out
>>5438403>Calling me an insecure manchild for calling you out >Pulls the 'lol mental illness' cardWhatever you say bro
>>5438371>tons of games to play>lots of hobbies to have>lots of life to life>OMG U NEVER PLAYED WIPEOUT U MUST BE A ZOOMEREat a dick.
>>5438360XL/2097 > 3 > 1 > shit > non-retro Wipeout > any F-Zero game
>>5438737>>5438756absolutely fuming.dorks can't stand the F-Zero chad.
>>5438831says the goober that likes the racer with dorky ass character designs and casual glitchy mechanics
>another Cee shitposting thread
Who knew that posting a pic of another AG racer in close proximity to F-Zero was haram lmao
>>5435575>there are retro games that never ageThere are very few retro games that haven't aged in some way.
>>5437604don't worry, the games they play changed so that strategies and thinking are optional.
>>5438364Great, go be overly sensitive about F-Zero in a thread where it's actually the relevant topic instead of sperging out when someone mentions a similar game in a way totally unrelated to your sensitivities. Now then, I find one game that really lasts is Zelda 1. You can enjoy that game a lot, though admittedly after doing both quests and going for swordless, I'm not sure what else to do beyond replays with progressively less equipment. The randomizer helps here I suppose.
>>5438376You are an absolute fucking loser, far worse than anyone posting about wipeout
>>5438353You seem upset
>>5439094>>5439096>>5439224More than anything else this board has taught me there are fans of video games in general and then there are fans of Nintendo games. And though they might appear similar at first are in fact very different kinds of hobbyists.
>>5440689Sega made GX.
Great score attack games. So, most of the arcade shit from the early '80's.
>>5437254I'd say score attack focused games are the closest you'll get to that. Something like Sonic Adventure 2 or Battle Garegga are the things that immediately come to my mind.
>>5435575>waaahh sports games>waaahh JRPGs without premade animu characters/vr/ hates replayability. Faggots.
>>5440680What am I supposed to be mad about? That half the people who come here don't even like games? Lol
>>5435586god I love wipeout
>>5437845What is Drahon Crystal? Sounds like I should look into it.
The most replayable games for me are usually standard linear games that I enjoy a lot. Stuff like Rayman 1, Tomb Raider 1, as well as a ton of flexible PC RPGs. I've lost track of how many times I've played BG and FFT. The quality of the game is usually all that matters for longevity IMO.
>>5435586There are stacks of great retro vidya you don't need to replay to enjoy.
>>5444984Wow I usually can't stand replaying a linear game after I've beat it.
>>5440689>doesnt know sega made GXyou need to get cunted
>>5435606but theyre boring
>>5445989The core gameplay is really fun, I'm just not into multiplayer anymore personally.
>>5445989You probably think they're boring because you only fight the computer due to not being able to handle multiplayer.
>>5435575>>5435601If you count mods/usermaps, then Doom, Quake and to a lesser extent Duke3d. If you don't - then Diablo 1/2 played them for 20+ years straight, still play themNot many games come close to this amount of replay value>>5435606Once you master every aspect of every character they become boring because at that point CPU on highest difficulty offers no challenge at all, and all the human playerbase you can play it with has already migrated onto the next big thing.
>>5449959Yeah playing against the CPU is only good for practice and it's not even great for that. Like chess it's a multiplayer genre that only shines with real competition.
>>5438360Don't listen to this pleb>>5438756, the non-retro Wipeout games except Fusion and Pure are mindblowingly good. Wipeout 2097/XL, Wip3out:SE, Pulse, HD and Omega are among the best products of pop culture in general, let alone video games. So just pick any one of these and you're good to go.
>>5450632>PureWhat? Fuck off fag Pure is good especially now that you can apply the 60 FPS hack on PPSSPP for some sweet time trials.
>>5450637it's alright but pulse blows it away in every regard
>>5450983Pulse physics too grippy and not as fun
>>5449959Street Fighter 2 is still one of the most popular and frequently played fighting games ever.
I replay my games all the time but I still want new releases and sequels. But mostly in franchises that I already have an attachment to. Maybe that's why I don't feel like i'm missing out by ignoring indies and like 95% of all triple A releases.
>>5451097You sound genuinely autistic.
