I want to increase the amount of grit that IE Crushers output, since they feel criminally underpowered for their cost. I'm having trouble deciding whether to go to 3x, or stick with 2x and a 50% chance for an extra one.

Any thoughts?
>>
>>253275489
If you have access to other ore processors, maybe make it 3x. If you have Thaumcraft, you can make the clusters output 3x ore when crushed.
>>
>>253275358
Looks okay. Personally I don't like the brown grass since it looks sickly (and has a change in height when you walk over it onto normal blocks) but otherwise it looks nice.
>>
>>253275852
I know what you mean. I have never used the trampled(?) grass blocks before because I'm not the biggest fan of how they look. However, I am trying to get back into my creative groove and wanted to use some new blocks. I also think it compliments the wooden planks really well. That might change though because I was thinking of replacing all of the Oak in my base with Spruce just to darken things a little bit.
>>
>>253275752
Sounds good, I've got ic2 and magneticraft, and they cost like 10 to 40 iron to build their macerators, while ie wants 200 iron ingots.
Thanks for reminding me about Thuamcraft as well.

>>253276517
1.14.1 is the newest update and I do like what they have added (Complete rework of villages and a new Raid Feature). It is, however, pretty buggy and a pain to play. I'd recommend you wait for 1.14.2 to move on to that and play 1.13.2 until then. 1.13 did a complete rework of water mechanics and oceans (added crashed ships, buried treasure, and a bunch more.).

I haven't touched Minecraft in 7 million years, but I've been watching game footage/playthroughs of this and it's gotten me VIOLENTLY interested in this mod/version of the game. Even the alternate versions with the skycities/domed city maps look pretty interesting and fun.

The crusher is the thing that increases your iron output. Getting the fuel for a drill is harder to set up than a crusher IIRC, and the drill isn't great.
Sure, getting tons of iron due to the excavator later is nice, but it comes later, so it doesn't make the crusher's price tag much easier.

Pretty sure temperature just correlates to the output, meaning that at 1000 it would be running at full capacity. At least that's usually how machines with this kind of mechanic work. They take a while to get there, and reqire extra energy to constantly upkeep the max heat, but they do their job.

I looked on the wiki, and I didn't see any machines I'm not familiar with.
Even if you're playing IE by itself/configured so other mods' crushers are gated/just as expensive, it's going to be noticeably later/more mining than usual.

Is there a specific way you could turn an image into some pixel blueprint for pixel art via Photoshop? I.e. Image related; I try mosaic, but it turns into too many different colors for me to translate into Minecraft

Hey, look man, i openly stated I have no idea how to make threads. Literally no one else was making a new one and i was in the middle of a conversation though so I did the simplest thing I could. Fell free to point me to somewhere that explains the proper way to format threads here, but if not I don't really care as long as the thread is findable.

Resize it in mspaint a bunch until you get that crispy texture you so desire.

What I want to know is, is there a program or website that can convert images into player skins? I have a very good image, but no way to transfer it over unless I do it one by one, matching the rgb values of every pixel.

I know they aren't suppose to be able to generate without a portal but I'm down to xray and spectator and still can't find this thing. Throwing pearls is leading to a solid chunk of blocks, which I cleared to find nothing.

Just used up all 6 BC tanks full of liquid xp on some lvl 30 enchantments. I got decent stuff, I like the silk touch on my main pick, and I got unbreaking III on everything, but the bow just had Power IV and both swords just had sharpness III and some extras.

Hey, thanks for the "give him time to learn" pep talk. I was actually just curious what the name option did and was playing around with it. I'm not new, but for the entire length of time I have spent on this site I have never fooled with any options. I simply click reply, type my message, and hut post. I wasn't a fan of the little name tag that showed up, and I stopped using it after that single post. Why are you guys so helpful and somewhat decent in here? Most every other board is dog shit when it comes with finding legitimate help.

Perhaps it doesn't like using silk touch tools on doubleable blocks, which sucks because I doubt I can fix that.
But it looks like for whatever reason I have version 1.0.0 instead of 1.0.2 of Aether Legacy (just called Aether in CurseForge now for whatever reason and looks like its owned by gilded games too) which might have fixed it.

been playing it for the past week, pretty fun but the whole sapling management can get a bit tedious.
The prestige thing makes it ultra tedious by locking you out of essential time-saving things like ore excavation and hopping bonsais, I disabled it two hours in.
You can get to simple storage networks pretty early, it's basically AE lite and will carry you for a while. The mob simulation mob has also interesting and fun mechanics and gives you an excuse to explore the city to farm the mobs and get the glitch armor that unlocks creative flight.
AE is trivially easy to set up once you have all your resources in place and that's where I am right now, I just got mid-game power generation through ethylene and I sort of don't have much to do, there's still the whole twilight forest to do but after that I'm not really sure if there's anything worthwhile to do other than going for the achievements, it's starting to feel like work and just checking stuff off a list

To avoid anymore spending three days trying to autistically spawn a mob in a world, here's gonna be the prelease of my pack T̶a̶m̶e̶ Claim the World.

Take place of a lonely buccaneer, with nothing but you, the seven seas, and a boatload of Treasure. Make yourself a vessel, or steal yourself one, and venture out in the vast world. Dungeons to plunder, structures to steal, and lots to gather. Visit different worlds, and recruit all different kinds of mateys to your crew. Use magic to dominate amongst the world of creatures, and brute your way to King of the Pirates. (screenshot is too big, Davincis is in here)

Featuring Twilight Forest, Erebus, The Betweenlands, the Aether, and even the hidden world of Gaia, a world of gems those pesky Elven people have hidden for all these updates. Overworld uses Ruins with Gillymoth/Greywolf, and a few custom ruin mods.

Another "major" project done, this time sprucing up the village up south by adding some oak to the birch-and-sandstone structures and making it more villager friendly. The main idea is to make it look like the newer village designs (though that will come later, maybe). The only unfortunate thing here is that the villagers still live claustrophobic lives inside the house located on the isometric south of the fountain.

Yeah I really don't get it, try to explain it to me. not any of the other anons but for some reason i can't enjoy mods in any game unless they are minor technical things like bugfixes

It's sort of like explaining comfy to people - either you already get it or you probably never will - but basically it feels like an entirely different experience you can't really share with others. You may as well have created an entirely new game to play alone. I already feel autistic enough playing vanilla, and that's nearly socially acceptable to discuss in public. Mods are a new layer of isolation and autism on top of an already autistic game and they rip a sense of legitimacy away from the game just to fix some irritating bugs and "features". Do whatever you prefer but I think I'll just wait for the bugfixes to trickle in.

>>
>>253317116
I don't know, there are mods that are so small or would fit right in with vanilla that adding them wouldn't really change the experience. Quark for instance, or just something like chisel & bits for pure aesthetics. modded has a multiplayer but I guess you don't have any friends to share that with so you just assume modded means no multiplayer and you rely on vanilla public servers for multiplayer experience so this is just something you made up yourself
>I already feel autistic enough playing vanilla, and that's nearly socially acceptable to discuss in public.
imagine even thinking that people care about what you play at home and on top of that thinking its acceptable to play and talk about it in public minecraft unless you are 12
then again this is something you made up yourself and doesn't exist outside of your head
>Mods are a new layer of isolation and autism on top of an already autistic game and they rip a sense of legitimacy away from the game just to fix some irritating bugs and "features"
anon this IS the autism you are talking about
if you think adding bug fix mods or feature mods bothers you enough that you can't play the game then you are already on the maximum autism and you can't sink further down so just drop the "muh autism" gimmick
there I found the source of the problem its literally autism to no ones surprise just a different brand of it that you try to sugar coat it with a different name while trying to make it related to comfy term

All you do is prove that we do indeed understand you, and long ago rejected your world. Modded Minecraft was never the 'in' or 'acceptable' thing with the major sites, so even when the modding scene was healthy, it was some kind of taboo to even suggest it existed for most players. Then, we were promised a real API, one that vanilla clients would actually have; And what did we get? Datapacks. Oh, certainly, there's a lot you can do with them. More importantly, they work by just being installed on the server. You, the lazy, contented player need only connect with your same client and enjoy the wonders of new and exciting mechanics. The main problem is the way they are coded drives away all but a literal handful of super-autists, and is so limiting that we utterly scoffed at its existence. The one thing datapacks have, is the one thing modded players have so wanted: for a server to push the current data to the client. If modded had this, then while you would have to change to the modded client, you could just browse all the modded servers with all their myraid packs and offerings, without ever restarting your client or fighting with folders to jump between them.
But this isn't what we have. We have precious few places to talk about mods, but you can find vanilla discussion almost anywhere by mentioning Minecraft. So why are you so shocked that we're annoyed by you waltzing into our wizardmoot and complaining that we're not attending the homeowner's association meetings?

I thinks its really fun, but only when everyone is involved. Its fun on kitchen sink servers/packs so you could have clashing of the roles. Adds some spice to "get everything as fast as possible." Ofcourse this is more attainable when making you're own pack so you get stuff like Technomancy to improve upon magic mods.

An old ass server tweaked a bunch of recipes depending on what rank/role you chose, that shit was cash.

if you are going to make a modpack I suggest sticking to one theme like a tech pack and if you don't want to miss on magic side you can add some of the more reasonable magic mods like thaumcraft in the mix

Depends on your play style and imagination really. The beauty of a sandbox game is that it is all up to you what kind of journeys and experience you encounter. In my experience mixing and matching mods never come up as an issue, as you can always just ignore ones you don't like. I have done plenty of play throughs where I add 100+ mods that range from space travel to magical realms but end up just making a realistic medieval rice farm instead. I say just add everything you might play, its best not to limit yourself. As the other anon brought up you might want to try out some generic modpacks first to get your feet wet and figure out what you like. Joining a server in this endeavor always helps too, having other players to show you around mods and potential builds you can achieve for inspiration.

My modpack is the ultimate defeat of shame and futility.

It was going to be a grandoise modpack with a 20k x 20k custom painted map called the Toxic Jungle world. But I realized that I will burnout with utmost certainty if I endeavor to paint the entire worldmap. So I've made some sacrifices for the sake of being realistic.

To most people this doesn't matter, because:
A.) 99% of anons don't give a fuck about my pack.
B.) No one but me can see the artistic vision I had in my head anyway.
C.) Moonti is the best worldpainter who ever lived, and his map will be better than anything I could ever produce, even if it had lots of flaws originally.

SO as I was in contact with Moonti years ago when he published his map, I obtained a copy of the original worldpainter file. Which means I can fix his mistakes.

Cont.

So I've expanded the map to be an actual square, instead of this wierd rectangle, and in the Eastern ocean I will paint the actual toxic jungle and substrate (all of these words are basically nonsense to anyone not familiar with my previous work), since these were the only actually unique landscape ideas I had.

Here is a rough sketch of the layout so far. Open to ideas of what I can fill the black portion with. Was thinking maybe an archipelago of scrapmetal and detritus.

In the end this basically all means I can release Toxic Jungle Pack much much sooner, thanks to my beast of a new PC and remembering I had the original WP file for Moonti's map.

All of this said, I will need to ask Moonti for permission to redistribute his map (for which I will give him all the due credit, I have little interest in fame or recognition, I just want this project to come to life) and hope he agrees, though I'm sure he will since afaik he hasnt touched minecraft in like 5 years.

Then again there are always those types who keep a death-grip on their material instead of letting others expand upon it for f u n. But he seemed like a pretty cool dude previously. Of course I will also need to get XSSheep to sign off on the whole fact that Prophylactic Presumption is basically an integral part of the modpack, but once again he's a ghost and usually p chill.

Question about map painting. Assuming I have a lot for mods that all add loads of world gen, how bad a disaster would that be? I've never really used any map painting tools before. But it basically outputs a save file, right? So there'd be no way to generate custom structures unless that mod has a re-gen config setting, right? Same for custom ore gen I'd guess.

I'm absolutely positive that there will be a fair bit of butthurt in the community about the modlist/objective of the pack.

It has and ALWAYS will be a project of personal passion. It will not support vanilla textures, it will disable some vanilla features entirely.

The focus of the pack is kind of diatomic. On the eastern "continent" there will be a massive, sprawling substrate which is basically an indestructible foundation of some ancient society. Its literally the superstructure from Blame! except obviously more lateral instead of vertical since there is a build limit. Bordering the substrate will be a massive swathe of toxic jungle ala Nausicaa. Go in without protective gear, take poison (wither actually so you die) damage. Substrate life is about scavenging and navigating the hazards of the substrate.

On the western continent will be fairly vanilla+ comfy. Hidden locations for more advanced items but mostly cosmetic stuff. I don't plan on gating any mechanics really behind anything. There will be no ores in the overworld, instead ive tweaked a suuuper cool mining world that is full caves from 0-250, with caves biomes and all kinds of cool features.

<--- modlist here. Its a REALLY simple modlist. If you're looking for something revolutionary mod-wise, this isn't going to scratch your itch. Its much more about how the world is constructed.
>>
>>253337731
My first packs were all lite kitchen sinks I threw together myself with minimal theming, it can be a good way to practice lots of mods at once without spending a lot of time making a pack you're unsure of.
The best is when you tweak things so those disparate mods seem to go together or have a progressive advancement to higher tech. IE+Airships+Aether, maybe.

oops senpai, forgot to add modlist pic.

>>253340265
Not sure exactly your question. If you paint a map, it outputs a save file yes. So in the chunks that are painted, no structures will spawn, and no ores will spawn, so yes, this could be an issue. I worked around this above by having the overworld contain zero ores, and have a super complex and fun mining world that is random gen so it can be deleted to regenerate ores or whatever ad-infinitum without harming the overworld. This also means less people stripping the beauty from the overworld to gather resources.

Also, check out how many custom layers there are. Like 3 pages. If you notice, they are in french, because Moonti is french. So not only am I trying to figure out why and where he placed everything, I'm also learning to translate french so I can know what the FUCK is going on.

The full world when exported is over 4 GB. So this will be a huge modpack.

My computer shits a fucking brick when I export, which takes around 45 minutes. The fans go full blast and I'm afraid I will melt my CPU. So I just export small sections at once to test.

I've found some very strange things so far... like Moonti painted all the mountains in one region with "river" biome... and I can't figure out why.

Prepare to be absolutely overwhelmed at first. It will take a LONG time until you can produce something decent. My advice, start small, one mountain, one swamp. Try to paint a whole continent and it will look like shit.

Secondly, get some decent brushes, I will try to find my old brush folder for you.

Finally join the discord, I dont know how to find discord links after I have joined a channel though, so just search for worldpainter. Its a super slow moving discord, but eventually someone can answer your questions.

The only thing I remember that it does is when you brake vanilla glass, instead of the glass exploding into nothingness, you get a few glass shards which you can combine (2x2, 4 total) into a new glass block. I'm sure it does other things, but that's just about the only noticable one

I haven't used worldpainter but theoretically you can have a save file where every chunk is 'unpopulated', meaning ores, stone variants, plants, lakes, and structures will be added the first time it loads. Seems like that would be a good way to make a modpack-neutral world map.

Feel free to add whatever you like for your own version.

The entire thing was kind inspired by valkyrian warfare back in the day, but seeing as its years later, completely unfinished and buggy and the main dev is literally grounded by parents for not passing his exams, I'd say we won't see anything decent for a while if ever.

A real shame too.

Actually yeah, you can climb the first half by horse. Once you get toward the top though it starts to get vertical by 2s or 3s. Almost every mountain on the map IS climbable with some thoughtful parkour though.

I gotta go to sleep. Im always lurking though so feel free to throw any feedback at me for morning.

Does anyone know any good designs to do for pic related?
I want it to be a very very tall sea spire, but everything I see online is either too fucking complicated to make (fucking spirals) or doesn't suit what I'm lookin for.
Does anyone have any somewhat non autism level designs they could share? Or a good method to make spirals I could follow? I wanted the staircase to go around the outer of the circle keeping the inner like it's own pillar.
I'm playing in a multiplayer server and I don't have OP so it needs to be reasonable to make in survival mode.

Maybe I'm a bit stupid, but nuclearcraft seems to be a pile of dogshit. The craftweaker documentation says you can put in an integer for time, and at first it works fine. I put 20, and the machine takes 20 ticks. I put 40, it takes 40 ticks. Then I put 100.. and it takes 40 seconds? Then 200 and every other number also makes it 40 seconds? What the fuck is wrong with this piece of shit. How do you even make it take 20 seconds if 20 is 20t?

Abyssalcraft looks ugly, it's dimensions are really empty, and it adds more overworld cancer that's worse than taint
Apotheosis I only touched briefly but it's one of those BIG NUMBERS sorts of mods, I just don't see the point in level 150 enchanting requirements - its spawner module is kind of neat but I was using Soul Shards instead so I skipped out on it
There's Roots 2 and Roots Classic
My only opinion on 2 was that its pixies spammed my log with openGL errors and I heard someone say the monster spawning structures it adds cannot be broken or disabled
Classic is a simpler mod without worldgen, some nice potion effect and automation pedestals, basic rituals for growth/time/etc, nice aesthetic, main problem is it's not really that big on its own and is rendered largely redundant when paired with similarly themed mods like Nature's Aura or Botania
And that's my main problem with 1.12 magic, that a lot of the mods are just doing the exact same shit slightly differently. 1.7 had more unique interpretations, but 1.12 is treated as an excuse to ape tech mods by some devs.

Are there any good nostalgia mods? I really want to go back to beta, but for some reason trying to play beta versions has been running bot my CPU and GPU super hot for some unknown reason.
>>
>>253370438
Depends on the version. 1.12.2 has Beta Days and Beta +, while 1.7.10 has Old World Gen (not on curseforge). There's Hungerstrike and beta-style resource packs on both versions.
As far as content mods go, IC2 Classic, BC, Railcraft, Forestry, Aether Legacy, Logistics Pipes, Project E, Project Red, Computercraft, Balkon's Weapon Mod, Iron Chest, and Treecapitator are all the retro mods I can think of. But note that Old World Gen's pre-alpha 1.2 generation will result in your world being a single biome, which isn't very good if you want to get multiple bees and trees and such from Forestry. I used a bunch of biome tweaks to get rubber trees to spawn, and the different basic saplings appear in dungeon chests anyhow for my pack:
https://mega.nz/#F!NcRDQYyY!kDbpOAchPoeBCKRmVKQppw
Which is basically what I described above. But without Project E, since it's a shit mod.
>>
>>253370438
>>253371057
Oh and 1.12.2 doesn't have a playable buildcraft version, hence why it's a 1.7.10 pack.
>>
>>253370438
There are several mods that bring out terrain generation from the Beta versions. Among them is Biomes O' Plenty's Origin Valley/Origin Island.
>>
>>253368673
Apotheosis doesn't add any brand new mechanics but it does give you some significant enchantment customization options. There's another mod called Enchantment Control that does the same without new items or heightened levels though.
I'd never recommend Abyssalcraft regardless, it has some TC-esque altar crafting but the Shoggoth spreading is unforgivable design - the mob spreads the ooze that spawns more mobs as it moves, and it can spawn naturally in the overworld.
Can't say much about Roots 2 but Classic has some CT support and more basic ritual circle crafting. Burn incense(which just means any item the book requests, sometimes you're using silly items like clocks) with a catalyst to trigger an effect. Nothing revolutionary, just nice textures. There's a spellcasting system but it's only to create specific hard-coded spells.

My final complaint was mostly about other mods but it's probably more accurate to say they're aping each other than tech mods. Throw some shit in a circle and consume some easily renewed abstract aura resource to do everything. Not much innovative like Thaumic Horizons, and mods like Blood Magic lost all their complexity.
Even Botania has some nice wands and baubles, and manages to be comprehensive without breaking its theme too badly(like Nature's Aura does).
Only magic on 1.12 I really like is Embers/Soot(arguably tech anyway) and maybe Astral Sorcery for being the best implementation of the above "does everything" while being more magical than Botania. Otherwise I feel like they're all interchangeable and you're only mixing them together to force players to spend time developing multiple systems.

Completely unrelated, but you might like Zen Summoning.

Thanks for the detailed info. Looks like I'm not going to bother with Roots or Apotheosis so thank you for saving me time with that. Abyssalcraft however,
>TC-esque altar crafting
that does sound interesting, I'm going to look into this.

Regarding the rest of what you said, I do agree with you, but
>you're only mixing them together to force players to spend time developing multiple systems.
I see this as a positive. To me, setting up the "factory" side of things is the most interesting part of MC, and since 99% of tech mods is mind-numbingly-boring magicblox, automating magic mods ends up being the most fun. It's the reason I think Divine Journey is the best modpack ever made. So even if they ARE all "throw some shit in a circle", that's still far more interesting than "pump item X, get item Y" which is what literally every single tech mod does.

I definitely like mods like Zen Summoning, so if you know of any other like that (not about summoning but about adding new ways of crafting/creating stuff) please do post them, I would appreciate it

Are you using Embers? I think it's pretty good for this. In case not, it has the Exchange Tablet which works by slapping items in specific slots on its 5 inputs, then feeding it ash from up to 5 pedestals. Each pedestal has a number within a stated range that needs to be matched, if you're wrong you'll get a waste product that tells you how far off you are for each one.
Soot's Alchemical Recombulator uses the same system to transform liquid mixtures into a new liquid output.
The Dawnstone Anvil can be given two inputs which are hammered manually or automatically to give 1+ outputs.
The Stamper accepts up to one item, one liquid, and one stamp to create an item output, but can also be used with any item or null as a stamp. Can make a dry crusher or other things this way.

Aetherworks takes it farther and adds a heat-based forge with timed hammering. It's pretty easy to use and you can obtain heat neutrality just by using some more resources, but it's something. No in-game documentation so you'd probably want to add your own to a pack. All of the above have CT support.

I remember when Microsoft bought out Mojang they made everyone change their username and some other basic information. I had gotten locked out out my account as well. Ended up having to change security questions, my password, and had to start using my email to log in instead of my username. I'd suggest tat you visit the Mojang website (not the Minecraft website) and log in there and just sort of look around the options.

That's just the change from your minecraft account to your mojang account, by logging in with your email instead of your username you obtained the freedom to rename your character, and it meant the account was a bit more universal for other mojang titles. Be glad that happened before the M$ buyout otherwise we'd all have to have M$ accounts or something awful.

Forestry also has a bunch of farms in more balanced way, I think people use IF more for the autospawner. But EIO also has one of those, so I'd only have one of the two.
Oh man Forestry should add migrating swarms of bees that occasionally pass by so you can obtain bees from biomes that aren't nearby if you swipe at them with a scoop and don't get stung to death. It would also add a 20m diameter god-swarm boss mob that drops something rare and is spawned if you try to modify the weather too often.

My base was originally a couple rectangles of varying sizes with long hallways and passages connecting them. I was having trouble planning room out and was not enjoying the building process, so I decided to restart. I made the storage tablet that is always in my first slot and put literally everything into it (including all of my animals) and used a couple diamond wands and a lot of stone to completely reset everything. I ended up with nothing except for the starting room again and then started rebuilding from there. I wanted to use a different shape that would be easier to both decorate and look better so i ended up going with a series of torus shaped rooms.

I'm currently working on making a Builder Machine so that I won't need to keep digging these out by hand. Also, I made a little comfy room right under the entrance to the Mining Dimension.

>>253392583
Wouldn't using electrum have a lower resistance than whatever HV wires are made of? I know there's voltage to include in these calculations also, but that doesn't have much to do about why you'd use copper for one cable and electrum for another. Each cable sort should have a current rating and a strength rating, so there would be some compromise between length of wire segments and how many of them you need to carry enough current. But big copper or even silver bus-bars as expensive short-range power transfer would be great, also arcing between HV lines.

Yeah, in follow up, they have like 5 "devs" "working" on it, but 4 out of the 5 are "Idea People". So they're "producing lots of content", which basically means they are wanking over make-believe and schematics such as these in their discord, while the real coder of the actual mod logs in once a month with little to no actual work.

They want to add floating sky dungeons, super complex steering contraptions and ore processing. When the base concept is still buggy as fuck and will ruin your saves. Literally just add an airship block and some engine blocks, and make the physics work right.

Why do mod authors always do this? JUST ADD THE THING WE ACTUALLY WANT AND MAKE IT WORK. You can add your fucking super special sky dungeons and quartz fences in an addon mod.

Shit is fucking dumb. And due to the fact that they have done it now, it almost guarantees no other author will do the same concept. So we've essentially been cucked by incompetence out of ever having the mod we want.

First up is Climatic + BOP
My first big issue is there is no real visual cohesion in the landscape. You go from deep dark greens to dry greens and browns. A lot of the biomes look alright on their own, but mixed with other biomes, they look out of place. Look at this for example. A neat swampy plateau, with a fucking dry dead grassland and snow within view distance.

Something I actually really liked was this sequoia forest that ran up this mountain, with a flower field in the valley below and another swampy plateau leading up to it. What you can't see is snow just on the other side, which kind of ruins the appeal. It seems like I found all the points where it transitions from warm to cold, and it's such a sudden harsh change.

If it's pirating you want, how about SEUS PTGI? Jokes aside, a weapons mod like Balkon's or whatever the 1.12.2 version is called would be ok for the few sword variants and primitive firearms, but perhaps Techguns limited to just the basic guns would work a bit better, since it's a better gun mod in general. The same could probably be said for Flan's (might be a good inclusion for community pirate-esque vehicles) and Vic's MW. Actually isn't Davinci's vessels also made by Balkondeur?
Tech mods in general don't really fit in with the pirate theme, perhaps with the exception of Ancient Warfare 2 or BWM, and as far as magic mods you wouldn't really find anything with a matching aesthetic so sticking with the exploration look just plain old EB's wizardry might be the only one that fits.
But dwarvy foundry shit might be ok, and there's a few mods besides tinkers (like that one with ceramic pipes and tanks, and that magic mod that I think might be embers). As far as general ocean content, no clue what terrain generation mods might add what you're looking for, but I'm pretty sure there aren't any coral reef mods for 1.7.10.

>>253400696
Any particular reason you're going for 1.7.10? 1.12.2 might have better variety for the kind of pack you're trying to make.

Looks like you can put Mending on pretty much any tool, with potential gamebreaking results. (To those unfamiliar with JABBA, the Diamond Barrel can transport stuff like Mob Spawners at the crafting cost of 3 Diamonds and has very few uses if used to carry spawners.)

Of course, I decided not to push through with the enchantment.

To actually answer your question:
All mods add their own tools. Botania, thaumcraft and nearly all tech mods add their own tools and/or armor, which tend to blend well together and aren't cheesy as hell. Tonker's is not only bloated and clunky but it shits on every single other tool from any other mod that isn't Bad Dragon's dildo lotion, which is a retarded mod to begin with.
>>
TiC is fine if you install and configure Tinker Tweaks to your preferences.

>>253403473
I'm not asking if any mod adds more tools (because according to you even babby's first emerald tools mod counts), I'm asking if any mod adds better tools and convenience features.
>>
>>253404337
The appeal of tic to me isn't the new tools, desu, it's the fact that it provides a more complicated process for crafting tools, and also that the tools feel more personal becsuse they don't permanantly break.

This is why ExtraTiC and iguana tinker tweaks are nice. ExtraTiC adds most mod materials, and tinker tweaks allows you to customize the stats of each material so you can actually balance things because the TiC devs don't understand what that word means.

Uh, ok so I tested it and the BC stirling engine makes 1600EU from one coal, while the IC2 generator makes 4000EU. While changing IC2's flux generator config values to make these two equivalent would be simple, I'm wondering if it's a good idea since the IC2 generator is so much more expensive (4 tin, 2 redstone, 1 rubber, 1/3 copper, and [8 steel and 8 cobble] or [3 steel and 8 iron] or [3 steel and 5 iron and 8 cobble])than the BC stirling engine (13 cobble, 5 wood, 1 glass, 1 redstone, 1 iron).
Pic related is my setup Yes that is an infdev giant brick pyramid way away from the central island, I was surprised to see it too.
Might also want to change the name of the flux generators, as it's pretty vague as to which one is RF>EU and which one is EU>RF.

>>253404573
Yeah I'm kinda fond of it for that too, which is why I'd heavily tweak it. Using it (and maybe also primitive tools for the earlygame) to simply replace all vanilla tools would be pretty good for a low-tech (BWM?) playthough in my opinion.

>>
>>253425159
It's more that they don't set it to anything and just leave it on default values, in the true FTB spirit of things. The mod even supports using fonts that aren't installed in the system but I guess changing a config is harder than minetweaking 999 recipes.

I've got Quark but I've never seen them before, I assume they aren't disabled by default.

Also this might be a thing.

It's part of the most recent update. Check the Quark website, under World.

Nah it's not just me
I have a couple of minecraft experienced friends on a private server, years of experiments and we all agree - chisel reduces your fps. But actually the argument was over a chiseled gregtech concrete which fastens you, I don't know, maybe other non-interacting with the environment blocks are okay.

Then it could also be the way the mod deals with fonts that aren't installed. The correct font should be listed in smoothfont.cfg, if it really is Verdana or something then it most likely really is just FTB being retarded.
>check config for Sky Fucktrees 4
>Odin Rounded
And they even fucking did it again

*by chiseled I mean it's from the chisel mod

Let me clear this up for you all. Chisel does indeed drop your FPS. I had a long conversation with some of the devs where they tried to pin it on a bunch of other things, mainly forge's poor coding.

But after a lot of testing I figured out the issue myself and they happily bandwagonned to it because in the end its not "technically" their fault.

Its the Connected Textures. Yes they are just blocks, but your machine has to look at every single chisel block and see if its adjacent in 6 directions to another chisel block of the same type, and then apply one of 6 textures to it. For every single block.

So yeah, a huge build of chisel vomit will chip away at your FPS, I made an entire airship out of chisel and it dropped my framerate by at least 20%.

Hope this clears some things up for you lads.

>just found out you can hold shift and not get hurt by magma blocks in water elevators
Help I think my palm is stuck in my head.

I am also looking for this, can't find it anywhere (except on GGn but I'm pretty sure it's an outdated version)

>people arguing over whether vaccines give kids autism
>genetic scientist chimes in: "Actually we proved vaccines don't cause autism"
> You: "Maybe you shouldn't have kids with autism though!"

There was a discussion about whether chisel caused any sort of performance impact. I proceeded to inform they participants of said conversation that, yes, indeed there is a proven performance impact. You're intellectual bread mold.

literally "source my ass" the post
>>
>>253434308
Ugh, I literally have no horse in this race, as you can see above I was just informing you all that it does. But please, continue to argue over stupid shit and claim to know things with zero proof or explanation. Also please keep using your shitty over-compensating lolmachine textures mod, while us real chads build dope shit with minimal block palettes.

>gives no evidence
>compares himself to the people who give fucktons of evidence
In this argument, you're the guy saying vaccines give autism, not that they don't.

OMFG is school out for summer all of a sudden?

SOURCE: "Its the Connected Textures. Yes they are just blocks, but your machine has to look at every single chisel block and see if its adjacent in 6 directions to another chisel block of the same type, and then apply one of 6 textures to it. For every single block."

THATS LITERALLY HOW THE MOD WORKS, how could that possibly not require more computational power? Even turning of regular "varied textures" or whatever the fuck its called in vanilla increases performance. I'm done responding to cretins.
>>
>>253433280

what are your fucking specs? i have a secondary pc with a literal gt 1030 and chisel never caused any problems for me
>>
>>253434642
yes and I can say that thaumcraft has a secret chinese spyware in it and both of our arguments hold the same weight
show me some proof nigga I'm not going to take your crappy word for it

Read my description of how the mod works. If you want complete proof LOOK AT THE SOURCE CODE, I guarantee you, this is indeed how it works.

Now think, with your brain: If a block needs to run a check on every single block around it and then decide between one of six different textures, how could this process not take more than the regular computing power for a normal single texture block?

Did. I. Fucking. Stutter.

>>253434751
>>253434848
I'm not saying it TANKS your FPS, jesus fucking christ I merely stated that they don't have the same effect as a "normal block like planks or cobble" that some anon claimed above.
>>
>>253435203
yes and if you go check the source you can see that thaumcraft has spyware in it because I said so
it is literally how it works it just gets your data and tanks your fps and steals everything
Did. I. Fucking. Stutter?

>>253430085
it's as usefull as your imagination lets it be, you can make anything out of it with a ton of detail but it is pretty much an autism diy decoration mod
