>Annalise's forbidden blood came from Queen Yharnam>Queen Yharnam chosen to carry oldbabby>Arianna is related to Annalise SOMEHOW>similar names>chosen to carry oldbabbyAnnalise had at least one child of the blood and it was Arianna.
>keep replaying bb over and over>ds3 is so fuck-boring I can't stand to replay it even onceam I insane?
>>243658192She was consuming blood dregs so that she becomes fertile candidate to birth this "Child of Blood". We know she's got corrupted blood, and so does Arianna. Arianna birthed a celestial child, and got impregnanted presumably by Oedon as a lot of his runes come from around Oedon Chapel. He has a lot of influence there. This may explain why we never witness Annalise give birth to the child, as she isn't in proximity to Oedon.
>>243658648PvE in DaS 3 isn't bad as so many make it out to be. I agree though, BB's much better and superior in many ways. Only thing it has is it's PvP now.
>>243658845Yes, so it's my theory that the "child of blood" Annalise talks of is a vessel for the Great One's child, in this case, Oedon, which happens every blood moon.Arianna is Annalise's "child of blood", a direct descendant by blood of queen Yharnam, who birthed (or was supposed to) the pthumerian great one's child. The woman chosen isn't random, but a scion of a bloodline that moved from Queen Yharnam to Annalise via the "forbidden blood" ie. queen Yharnam's blood, and then to Annalise's child, Arianna.
>>243659347>>Only thing it has is it's PvP now.I meant relative to DaS 3, PvP is all that it is left. Wasn't Namco forcing their hand anyway to make more Souls? It was bound to happen.
>>243658192I don't know how you make the leap of logic of saying that Arianna is Annalise's daughter.
>>243659615Because Annalise is heavily theorised to have gotten her "forbidden blood" from Queen Yharnam via the Brygenwerth traitor, and we know that Q.Y's blood is powerful as fuck, which is likely why she was chosen during the blood moon to carry the child.Arianna is also a vileblood, descendant of Annalise and is chosen to carry the child this time around. Not a huge leap to think that the chosen is not random, but comes from one bloodline. One to which they all belong.
>>243658845What a qt
>>243659913What is the Burgertown Traitor?
>>243660264The burgertime traitor is the one who took/stole the forbidden blood to Cainhurst in the first place. No idea who that was but it seems they were doing the will of Oedon in reviving the Pthumerian bloodlines in Cainhurst.
>>243659271There's nothing really suggesting Arianna as her daughter. And doesn't she remark, along with the hunter, that they are the last two vilebloods to exist on earth? Most likely she was a close relative , that for whatever reason managed to grow up in Yharnam for most if not all her life. Maybe in the ensuing chaos and massacre at Cainhurst, young Arianna was fled to Yharnam to take refuge. Growing up she never realised her true nature, which is why she is so indifferent to hand you over her seemingly corrupt blood. Annalise locked off from the world presumed every last one of her ilk was KIA by the time we meet her.
>>243659913There was never a Byrgenwerth traitor. It was just a guy who decided to go his way and found Kos
>>243659913I agree with 95% of what you say, because it's what the game already states. But saying that Arianna is Annalise's daughter is pure headcanon, there's nothing in the lore even hinting at it. In fact, the very idea goes against the themes of that particular storyline, that is, that ironically Odeon chose the lowly prostitute with royal (though tainted) blood rather than the queen of the Vilebloods herself. Arianna's family tree in this case doesn't matter because that isn't the point of the story. We know she's a Vileblood descendant and that's it. In fact, Annalise's goal wouldn't make sense if she already had a child of blood in the form of Arianna. It's the thing she desires above all else, having a child already would make her whole quest moot. If you want kooky theories consider the possibilty that Arianna is Maria'sdaughter or something.
>>243660662She calls the hunter "last of our kind" which makes no real sense to me because there are two of them in that conversation. Even if she discounts herself, there are other vilebloods at least because Arianna is one, and possibly Maria because she's still alive in some sense. What suggests to me that Arianna is the daughter is her being chosen to carry the baby. It seems a massive coincidence that it might happen to Queen Yharnam...and then also the closest living figure to Queen Yharnam. We know that there is no other bearer if Arianna dies, too. All signs point to her as being very close to Queen Yharnam, and there is an obvious blood link if she is Annalise's child.
>>243660997>95% of what you say is in the gameThen why do you call it such a stretch, and ridicule it so much? >In fact, the very idea goes against the themes of that particular storyline, that is, that ironically Odeon chose the lowly prostitute with royal (though tainted) blood rather than the queen of the Vilebloods herself.>with royal bloodso saying she is a daughter of Annalise DOESN'T go against the themes. Besides, when was this a "theme" before you needed to aggrandise it just now?Annalise's goal is made tragic in this sense, perhaps, rather than moot. She seeks to birth a child of blood by sequestering herself off and having people pay tribute, but in the end, it's the lowly whore she has nothing to do with that ends up bearing the child.>I hate your theory, why not consider a more ludicrous one hahaI probably won't bother replying.
>>243661479Holy shit are lorefags all this fragile? It's just a game bro. They're all just pixels bro.
>>243660662Not every Cainhurst noble is a "vileblood". Like not all Yharnamites are "hunters"
>>243661601>sling shit>get it back>bro, bro, fragile, bro!I haven't seen a "UMAD" this salty since 2009. Good job, I guess.
>>243661087She capitalizes the pronouns "We", "Our", and such. I don't quite remember where I read this on a previous thread I'm slightly drunk lul but it's royalty speak. She's referring to herself in actuality.
>>243661805 Not the same guy bro
>>243661945Even so, >>243661647 is right. You might be the last vileblood, but vilebloods are a sect within Cainhurst society, not all of society itself. They're the direct servants of the queen sent out to get her blood dregs. Arianna isn't a vileblood. You say she was a close relative...and so do I. I just assume her to be a little closer, I think, because it makes more sense as to why Arianna was chosen.
>>243661479>She seeks to birth a child of blood by sequestering herself off and having people pay tribute, but in the end, it's the lowly whore she has nothing to do with that ends up bearing the child. You are literally repeating what I just said. What you said in the beginning was that Arianna is Annalise's daughter and I replied saying that there is literally no basis or hint for that in the game. And it would definitely contradict her whole character and questline. She wants a child of blood (whatever that entails) at all costs, but why would she if she already had one? Wouldn't she at least mention that she had a daughter that was taken from her/escaped? Wouldn't it make more sense for her quest to be to find her missing daughter instead of delivering her blood dredgs?
>>243662136In addition, I believe that Annalise got her blood from Queen Yharnam because A. It would have been the only blood forbidden by the church, likely because of its power and potency, and B. Because Annalise has different dialogue when you open the Pthumeru Ihyll dungeons up. She says:"We await thy return…This chamber was made not for one alone…For the honour of Cainhurst."Though I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.
>>243662315>I replied saying that there is literally no basis or hint for that in the game. Arianna is chosen to bear the great one's child. Like Queen Yharnam. It links them both, and the only visible path is through Annalise's bloodline. Granted, that doesn't NECESSARILY mean daughter, but it surely can, which is what you are avoiding.>And it would definitely contradict her whole character and questline. She wants a child of bloodShe wants to bear the child of Oedon, or whatever great one stumps up the babby when the blood moon comes in. That is different to having a mortal daughter. presumably she has had other children because she is immortal, and there are tons of Cainhurst nobles who are alive and desperate to talk about how close they are to the queen in lineage. If you have no children, ever, then....nobody could ever claim to be close to you in lineage, ever, and that line would make zero sense.
>>243661945>>243662136Eh I dunno I always assumed vilebloods as in the direct relatives, besides two of which we encounter have similarities in appearance.Anyways bros would've loved a spelunk but fuck me ir's getting late so good night. Enjoy your lore discussions and lets not make a fucking mess like last time eh?
>>243662710>dat assIt's rather.....rapturous...
>>243662710The vilebloods were just random people that miyazaki rammed into the game in order to justify putting castle cainhurst in the game. The lore was then jammed in to make some vague sense
>>243663194Cainhurst was supposed to be tge Mensis headquarters at first because micolash has puppets that closely resemble cainhurst knights.
>>243662690>Granted, that doesn't NECESSARILY mean daughter, but it surely can, which is what you are avoiding.I'm not avoiding anything, I'm outright telling you that there's no evidence in-game for your theory and that it's pure headcanon. >That is different to having a mortal daughter. You're moving the goalposts, originally you said that Annalise already had a child of blood and that it was Arianna.Look, if Arianna's parentage had some relevance to the plot then it would be brought up at some point. That's basic storytelling. As it stands that doesn't happen, so you have to take what the game gives you: Annalise, for all her status, power and bloodline ends up being ignored while ironically the common whore is chosen to bear the child of a god. Yes, they are related, but Arianna could be the daughter of a distant cousin or whatever. In regards to the storyline, it just doesn't matter. There's no need to overanalyze it. That's why I also think it's pointless how some people go crazy analyzing the paintings in the castle or whatever.
>>243663515 That was just one version. They made cainhurst before they fleshed out the whole game.

I'll tell you the problem with waifuniggers here and now. They are a disease; a pestilence that must be not given attention or even the passing notion of acknowledgement otherwise they will grow and thrive off of said attention. They're parasites and I know that I may not be around as much as I should be but the least I can do as an oldfag is remind you that waifuniggers are not people like us, think of them as subhuman.
>>243664195>Look, if Arianna's parentage had some relevance to the plot then it would be brought up at some point. Because bloodborne always handholds you on plot matters, doesn't it?
>>243664195>Arianna could be the daughter of a distant cousin or whateverHow? Annalise is presumably a lot older than any of her court, if she's immortal. Maria could have been because she died a long time ago, but Arianna is a young woman.
>>243664195Oedon chooses Queen Yharnam when the blood moon rises to bear his child. Annalise has the parasitic blood of Yharnam in her, making her the blood descendant of Queen Yharnam, and she is obsessed with bearing the "child of blood" a k a the blood moon baby.Blood moon hits and Arianna, a close relative of Annalise, gets pregnant. Ergo, she must have the same powerful blood, ergo, she has a direct link to queen Yharnam. mergo, she may be the daughter of Annalise, whose bloodline is that of queen yharnam, and the one strong enough to bear the child.Unless you choose to think it's all coincidence.

Mensis is not real. It's a hoax, made for us to believe that the Healing Church moved over their detractors to someplace. In reality, all these dissidents were loaded off the altars into the Labyrinth, dying before they could see the waking world ever again. It's a coverup for one of the greatest mass murders in history, made by one of the most prominent empires. Mensis does not exist. All things you call "proof" are actually well-fabricated lies and documents made by the leading vicars of the Church. Your Mensis friends? They're all actors and Resonant Bell-generated phantoms, part of the plot to trick Yharnam. If you think you've ever been to Mensis, you're terribly wrong. The Amygdala are all in on this, and have in all actuality only sent you to nightmares close nearby – or in some cases, parts of Yharnam, where they have cleared space and hired actors to act out as real Mensis scholars. Mensis is one of the biggest hoaxes ever created, and you have all been tricked. Join the movement today, and make it known that they have been deceived. Make it known, that this has all just been a cover-up. The things these "scholars" says to be doing, all these swear words and actions based on ascension, blood and bad decisions, are all ways to distract you from the ugly truth that is one of the greatest genocides in history. 162,000 people were said to have been transported to this imaginary school during a mere 80 years, and they are all long dead by now. They never reached that promised land. Tell the truth. Stand up for what is right. Make sure to spread the world – Mensis is not real. It's a codeword for the cold-blooded murder of more than a hundred thousand people, and it is not okay. We will not accept this.Stand up for the ones who died. Let it be known, that Mensis does not exist
Started a new playthrough today after a few years of hiatus, last time I played with a quality build using the pizza cutter and Ludwig's blade and thought I'd change things a bit this time. Full SKL, full BLT or SKL/BLT?
Fucking hyped for the blunderbuss tbqh lads
>>243684145Full bloodtinge will be a more different experience. Skill and strength are pretty similar in this game

Thanks to the anon last thread that helped me decide how to specialise for spelunking. Got a build written up and i'm happy with it.May the good blood guide your way.

I love the Rifle Spear, I was so worried Bloodtinge might have been a boring build. Are there any boring builds in Bloodborne?
>>243673968It doesn't, but it also isn't as vague as people make it out to be. That's why I said that I think there are a lot of ploints that are overanalyzed fruitlessly. >>243674043You didn't get my point, I'm just trying to say that Arianna's parentage simply isn't important, otherwise there'd be more focus on it in an item description or something. The game wants you to know she's related to the Vilebloods. >>243674654>Oedon chooses Queen Yharnam when the blood moon rises to bear his childThis is literally your invention. We don't have a record of how or when Queen Yharnam gets pregnant with Mergo. She was the queen of the Pthumerians and and the Pthumerians disappeared so long ago that their ruins are all underground and a city was built on top of them. We have no way to know that and, to top it off, the idea that the father was Oedon is another contentious idea. >Blood moon hits and Arianna, a close relative of Annalise, gets pregnant. Ergo, she must have the same powerful blood, ergo, she has a direct link to queen Yharnam. mergo, she may be the daughter of Annalise, whose bloodline is that of queen yharnam, and the one strong enough to bear the child.Dude, I already said that I agree with most of that, except the idea that Arianna is her daughter. We are going in circles.
What's the lowest possible BL to make a solid conehead terminator Chikago build?
>>243692871>The game wants you to know she's related to the Vilebloods. Yes, it does. The question is: why?>This is literally your invention.Hardly my invention. It's part of the storyline. Did you miss the presence of Yharnam at the blood moon rising? Or her standing outside Mergo's wet nurse boss? Or the blood down her front? Yharnam bore a great one's child and it failed. Do you dispute this? Also, it doesn't matter if the child is Oedon's or not. It's a great one's child.>Dude, I already said that I agree with most of that, except the idea that Arianna is her daughter. We are going in circles. We are. It seems that i'm not going to convince you of anything, and all you do is deny any possibility of discussion on the topic, so you're just reiterating what you *will* talk about.
>knocking out my story chalices on this character>1 hit away from killing defiled hotdog>suddenly his paw collision box raises me up into the air>as im falling he does his fire chomp combo and stunlocks me to death>my face wheni swear to christ chalice bosses are actually sentient and will regularly cheat to kill you whenever they're about to lose by exploiting the game's jank in totally retarded ways
Ok guys im planning on doing a lvl43 twink build using the burial blade. My question is if i should split it 25/25 vit and skill or if I should dump everything into vitality and rely on gems for the damage ? What do you think is more effective ?
>>243693530>Yes, it does. The question is: why?I already explained that it serves the narrative. It reinforces the theme that the Great Ones are unknowable and difficult to comprehend for us. Oedon, in an act of cosmic irony, choses the whore over the queen. Annalise, for all her power, royalty and plans, is left by the wayside for reasons only a Great One can know. At the end of the night, no matter how many blood dredgs you feed Annalise with, the one womb blessed with child is Arianna's. Her parentage was never the a relevant part of the plot. >Hardly my invention. "Oedon chooses Queen Yharnam when the blood moon rises to bear his child". This is what you said and that is clearly your invention. Repat, Pthumerian civilization fell so long ago their ruins are all under the foundations of Yharnam. You have no evidence in-game of this. >and all you do is deny any possibility of discussion on the topicI'm not denying any discussion. In fact, I'm having one with you and explaining my point of view, which is that you're overnalyzing a rather simple plot. Look, write up whatever you want. The other day a guy on leddit wrote that the Orphan of Kos was an Old Hunter that crawled up inside the corpse of Kos and mutated. I'm just gonna roll my eyes from now on because it's a lost cause.
Holy fuck, I just realized that the howling wolves you hear during invasions point you to the general direction of the host. >>243693737Why not do the false depth chalices?
>>243694083> It reinforces the theme that the Great Ones are unknowable and difficult to comprehend for us. Oedon, in an act of cosmic ironyOn that contrary, it makes them far EASIER to understand, if we apply such human concepts as irony and poetic justice to them. Besides, it could be literally ANY other reason. The fact that Annalise is bound, and might well be dead if you follow certain paths, at that point in the game. The fact that Arianna is inside Oedon's chapel, etc. Besides, it might not even BE Oedon. The one link we DO have is the blood link between Queen Yharnam, Annalise and Arianna. That is the ONLY solid link that exists.>You have no evidence in-game of this. If you're going to deny that a great one chose Yharnam to bear it's child and it failed, then I have nothing else to say. THIS IS DIRECTLY TOLD IN HUNTER'S NOTES, and the character model even has a bloody front to make it clear to you. If you want explicit explanations, then this is NOT the storyline for you. Try Dark Souls.>I'm not denying any discussion. In fact, I'm having one with you and explaining my point of view, which is that you're overnalyzing a rather simple plot. It's not a simple plot. There is a LOT of hidden shit. The fact that you think it's simple kind of belies the fact that maybe you aren't giving it enough consideration.>some guy on reddit said...I don't really care, but it would be neat to hear his juestification. because JUSTIFICATION is what matters.>I'm just gonna roll my eyes from now on because it's a lost cause.Dude, you sound like a smug prick, to be honest. I imagine in a few days you'll be on reddit, talking shit about this conversation because it's so much easier than trying to understand.Out of interest, did you read the paleblood hunt? Seems like you didn't, if you're calling this a "simple" storyline.
>>243694469I haven't been following BB for about a year and just got back into it, only to learn about FDs now that I'm at Pthumeru 5.
>>243694549>did you read the paleblood hunt? Not the guy you're arguing with, but you just lost all credibility dude. Paleblood Hunt is so basic it's laughable.>Logarius is the leader of the Executioners because the item descriptions say so!
>>243694850Try it on a new character, it's a godsend.
>>243695031>but you just lost all credibility dudeWhat, by citing the work of another person? How? Also, why should I care? >Paleblood Hunt is so basic it's laughable.so it's basic, in your view. The guy i'm "arguing" with is claiming that bloodborne has a "simple plot", so it's probably too much for him.
>>243691164Whats figma?>>243692674I'm not sure actually. >>243692936Use Mugen in the OP to figure out what build gets 50Blt the quickest and use that one.

You're twisting my words and moving the goalposts again. It's pretty complicated... in some parts. I'm just shooting your baseless theory down and it seems you can't deal with it.

>>243695681>Exactly, the only one. There's nothing in-game saying that they're mother and daughter. >ONESo how many links do you personally need? One is enough.>So, blood on her dress: child of blood? Wut? Isn't the simplest explanation that Byrgenwerth agents removed her child forcefully by cutting her up? If you're trying to deny that Queen Yharnam was intended to birth a great one's child, we're done here. It's such a basic fucking part of ther storyline.>you are not as deep as you thinktry to avoid ad hominem. You don't even know my name. Don't embarrass yourself.>I've read it, and it's not the Bloodborne gospel some people like to think it is. That tells me nothing about what you think of it. It's weasel words.> I'm just shooting your baseless theory down and it seems you can't deal with it.you're really not, though. You're just...denying it and crying at me. With a whole underlying "u mad bro" smugness. Anyway, i'm not going to reply again. You're not worth it, because you don't bring anything new to the table. Just denial of basic storyline points. Maybe Queen Yharnam spilled ketchup on herself before showing up in-game, eh?
>>243695961You do you, my friend. Just be sure to be a good sport and accept some criticism next time.

Gun damage just wasn't enough to make up for stretching my stats so thin and the chikage was not fun at all to use. SKL has some neat weapons though. BB, BoM, Rakuyo, Saif, Cane, all very fun.
>>243697614Neither does he. He's just here for the anti-lore
>tfw forgot to rescue AdellaWhoops.
>>243697625I made the same mistake. The right approach is to make either a skill, or a bloodtinge build- no combination. Bloodletter, bowblade and tricked rakuyo + firearms is the way to go.
>>243697614You wouldn't have any. You're a headcanon NPC
There's a not that says "The Mensis ritual must be stopped, lest we all become beasts".So I guess that the ritual in question was beckoning the Blood Moon to descend? Maybe the whole thing failed because of Rom?
>>243698308Rom was holding the ritual off. Hints are two of the ingame lore snippets are about the byrgenwerth spider keeping all manner of rituals and their master hidden. And there's the lake runes.
>>243698308>>243698583The mensis ritual was to use the blood moon to birth a great one's child, likely to use it as a conduit to commune further with the great ones, like Ebrietas. Rom/Willem was there to obscure the blood moon and keep things hidden, rather than put a stop to the ritual, but it had ther effect of keeping Micolash hidden in the nightmare, too.
Would anyone be willing to carry me through Cainhurst to get the Chikage early? That's my main weapon, new character, and I'm only level 35. I'll be at the first lamp, password is Chikage1
>>243699268You can get a Lost Chikage super fast if you do the false depth dungeons.
>>243699083>he even gets hard established explicit facts wrongSo we're back to baitposting again..
>>243699538>he even gets hard established explicit facts wrongsuch as?
>>243698351>>243698583I see. Then the real question is when was Rom conceived. Was she created as a response to the ritual, or did she already exist beforehand without Mensis knowing about it? The I don't know if that would fit with the story. It kinda paints Willem as a good guy even though he was the one who ordered the Fishing Hamlet sacked.
What's the most stylish weapon in bloodborne? I want to make a build that goes for pure style over damage.
>>243699485I'v never actually done the chalice dungeons
>>243699739What a retard.
>>243699689Cane obviously. Maybe burial blade.
>>243699538>>243699617>>243699739He's right though. The school of Mensis wanted their own Ebrietas, and after they failed so hard with Mergo they set to the ritual to summon the blood moon and the great one's child so that they could use it to greater communion. They wanted their own Ebrietas.
Spelunk anyone?1-3 pthu4-6 loran7-9 isz0 steak driver only spelunk (rerolling for location)
>>243699632>Willem ... was the one who ordered the Fishing Hamlet sackedThat attack was a healing church initiative
>>243699986So what's the evidence chief?
>>243700090Nope, it was before the split. The shaman near the entrance to the hamlet specifically mentions Byrgenwerth.
>>243700151The cords tell us that their audience with Mergo failed, and their brains got stillborn. The hunter's notes tell us that the blood one brings forth the child of a great one.
>>243699702The false depth chalices are super easy, just read this:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ffQccio5iZzxVDJxdCoSKO4FfMqhSmOo/viewYou literally have to beat two bosses, then input this glyph and run for dear life: 9nheuvvzAccording to the sheets the Lost Chikage is in the first bonus room of the first layer.
>>243700227And the presence of healing church hunters (harrowed set) indicates that it was after the split.
>>243700250>The hunter's notes tell us that the blood one brings forth the child of a great one.Yeah, Arianna's child. I don't see how any of that means that Mensis wanted an Ebrietas of their own.
>>243700564The purpose of the blood moon is to birth the child of a great one...> I don't see how any of that means that Mensis wanted an Ebrietas of their own.Mensis was DESPERATE to get their hands on a great one. Even down to the fact that they wear antenna cages on their heads to try and hear them. The tried it once with Mergo and failed.
>>243700564>I don't see how any of that means that Mensis wanted an Ebrietas of their own."Nightmarish rituals crave a newborn."
>>243700430You misunderstand. All blood-drunk hunters end up in the nightmare, no matter the time period. The harrowed set belongs to Simon, and Simon was clearly a church hunter, sure, but he seemed to be there of his own volition, like us. He was trying to bring an end to the Hunter's Nightmare by uncovering the secret beyond the Astral Clocktower. He gets stopped by Brador, but in his final moments he says (copied from the wiki): >"So our forefathers sinned?>…We hunters cannot bear their weight forever…>…It isn’t fair, it just isn’t fair
>>243700867Nothing here indicates that the ritual was to bring forth a great one. Only that they would sacrifice mergo to sustain the nightmare of mensis.
>>243700867That could very well mean that in order to commune with a Great One you need a newborn, not that the purpose of the ritual is to conceive a newborn.
>>243701131The hunter's note says that:"When the red moon hangs low, the line between man and beast is blurred. And when the Great Ones descend, a womb will be blessed with child."
>>243701059"When the red moon hangs low, the line between man and beast is blurred. And when the Great Ones descend, a womb will be blessed with child."As above. Also, they didn't sacrifice Mergo. He was already dead, stillborn, and communing with him caused the stillbirth of (Mensis') brains
>>243700984There's harrowed hunter corpses, like the one you loot a chunk off upper floor house next to hamlet lamp. The harrowed department is a pre-emptive measure.
>>243700034Anyone up for a Loran spelunk?
>>243701219>>243701346It could be as you guys say, and that Mensis wanted to birth a Great One child but didn't know what they were doing and got nuked in the process. In fact, I like the idea that their ritual was actually a success, just not in the way they hoped: they only womb blessed with child was Arianna's, a common whore with no relation to Mensis or the Church. But there's one big wrench in the wheel and that is that every little clue points that Arianna's child is Oedon's. So I don't know. You'd have to consider that both the Moon Presence (the red moon) and Oedon are working together, and while a crazy possibility, there's nothing in the lore that hints at that.
>>243701346"a womb will be blessed with child"must be talking about something else then, because it happens twice, to both Arianna and Iosefka
>>243701346The child is right there at the wetnurse, you can literally hear him crying.
>>243701875Mensis' whole thing was communion with the great ones, possibly out of jealous of the Choir or something, and yes, they did succeed...kind of. They communed with Mergo, who was already dead, and it blasted their brains to shit, which I guess is why we see so many of them sitting down dead. I suppose they just got fucked into a coma on the spot. Not sure why this didn't happen to Micolash, or Damien. As >>243701883 points out, there is also Iosefka's child. Not sure if there is any proof that Arianna's child is Oedon's, either. But it wouldn't matter. Wasn't Mergo Oedon's too?Not sure about the moon presence, desu. I have no fucking clue what that is, other than it was controlling Gehrman....somehow..for some reason. Not sure who called it, or why?
>>243702034The carriage is empty, and the child was stillborn. It existed only as consciousness, it seems. Wouldn't be the only character to do so. The mother is standing outside with her abdomen torn and bloody, as a clue.
>>243702156Damien has the Loch shield and Micolash is the host. Not sure if and how exactly it would work, but those are the things I can think of.
>>243702504Maybe? And the mad scholar you fight in Mergo's loft doesn't wear a headcage thing, so maybe he's safe, too..
>>243702590I believe that was a healing church/choir infiltrant. An anon made a pretty compelling argument here
>>243700090The Church didn’t exist at the time
>>243702235>The carriage is emptyNah, the child was formless. Just like a certain Great One. A certain Great ON
>>243702148Glyph: d3zu mca7Pass: bbgBe there or be square.
>>243702878I don't think he was formless. The Yharnam Stone looks like a calcified fetus and there's a a cord that's most likely Mergo's.
>>243702878>>243703065He was stillborn. His mother's guts are hanging out, the stone looks like a calcified fetus, you get his unbilical cord, and you hear his crying, if you have insight enough, throughout the game, not just in the loft.He exists in some form. All the ascended/great one characters do, after death. But he ain't alive in the world.
>>243702832Yet you have nothing to back up that statement while I have an item description linked to healing church operatives that preemptively strike scourged locations, directly on the scene. Hmmmm.
>>243702778Oh? I wonder what their reasoning was.
>>243702878"Every great one loses it's child.."
>>243703273I believe his weapons
>>243703345Oedon lost Mergo to the nightmare of Mensis. Kos lost orphan to the hunter's nightmare.
>>243703532I always found it odd that Micolash used an augur of Ebrietas and call beyond, actually. I thought there would be some explanation of that.
>>243702148Ringing my dude.
>>243703214I'm agreeing with you. I'm saying that he was born dead but had a physical form, which where his cord comes from. Afterwards it's just his consciousness.
>>243702878Or some say Oedonm.
>>243703639I don't believe that to be the meaning. I think that Great ones just...don't birth properly. Mergo was a stillborn, and Kos died before the orphan was born.
1 spot free in the spelunk.
>>243703720Yep. Which is why the Mensis Scholars got mindfucked when they tried to commune with him. Dunno where the brain of mensis comes into it though. Seems like the Scholars of Mensis had so many Great ones on their payroll, they shouldn't have bothered with the ritual at all.
>>243702778>I believe that was a healing church/choir infiltrantWell, his name is Choir Intelligencer Edgar
>>243703661likely cut content. He was probably supposed to use Kos weapons.
>>243703269>"Byrgenwerth... Byrgenwerth... Blasphemous murderers... Blood-crazed fiends... As for the hunters: anyone can enter the Nightmare if they have a relic like the Eye. Either those corpses are dead blood-drunk hunters or they tried to stop the Nightmare just like Simon.

So basically the TLDR on Maria is >She originated from Cainhurst>She was (I think) a member of the healing church and participated on whatever went in the hamlet>she was (somehow) lady of the Astral clock tower and hated the Church for what it did in the hamlet and tried to hide it/cover it up. >Gehrman had a crush on her and got rejected and became an incel with a sexdoll replica of herThis is it right?
>>243726412They don't really exist in BB. I think I know maybe one, involving the MLGS.
I feel like I'm going crazy. I WANT to love Bloodborne, but I just keep bouncing off it when I try to get into it.

>>243727872there's no fucking timeline if you still haven't got itshe's young in the nightmare meaning she died at that age, gehrman was older obviously
>>243726956Personally I interpret that she was Gherman's apprentice, presumably while he was still an agent of Byrgenwerth. I say this because the events at the hamlet were Byrgenwerth's doing.Someone correct me because I'm probably wrong, but I can't remember atm any instance where she's refered as a hunter. Was she?
>>243731072>is Gherman's apprentice>but is she a hunter?big think
>>243731413Welp, I mean an official Byrgenwerth/Church hunter.
>>243726956Gehrman's never made his feelings for Maria known while she was alive, according to her set.>Maria is distantly related to the undead queen, >but had great admiration for Gehrman, unaware of his curious mania"
>>243731951The research hall as a Church institution that she had a hand in going by descriptions from the Nightmare.
>>243731951She's not from the Church Workshop, she's from the Hunter's Workshop, established by Gehrman, given the timeline. Gehrman's workshop existed during the early days of the Church so it explains how she became the caretaker or supervisor at the Research Hall.
GOD I just killed Bloodletting beast in pthumeru chalice with all the curses. But it was in a relatively small arena so it felt like miyazaki personally plucked my eyes out at times.I feel so fucking accomplished though, my heart pounded so much my neighbor thought I was nailing something to a wall.Just wanted to share that moment with you guys
Weird question, as I'm totally out of the loop with regards to "modding"/accessing cut content.Have people unlocked early versions of character creator options to use or anything like that? I just invaded someone using a voice set I swear I've never heard before and it sounded really muted/out of place in comparison to the six regular character voices, a bit muffled/strained sounding.I do actually have a capture of this that I could upload to YT.
I know this marks me out as a complete fucking noob but how the fuck do I beat Gascoigne? He moves faster than me, his attacks track far better than mine, he has infinite fucking ammo. Every other time I've died, it's at least felt fair, but this just feels like I'm meant to lose.
>>243733229You can hide behind the graves and sometimes he gets kinda stuck. Or you could get good and parry his attacks until he becomes very angery, then use the music box and molotovs.
>>243733229doge to his sides throughoutparry in 2nd phasemolotovs in 3rdgg ezdon't fucking cheese, you'll get your shit kicked in later bosses
>>243733229You've got enough time after stunning him with the music box to backstab him, and he's pretty easy to parry before he transforms. Be aggressive, he's there to teach you what a real hunter should be fighting like.
>>243733485I've tried to parry him, but my timing is shit, plus I'm out of bullets now.I don't have any music box either.
>>243733651This. Gascoigne is a great hunter and you should be as aggressive as he is.
>>243733719Is he the first boss you're facing? If so, explore more. Also, you missed an NPC if you don't have a music box. She's inside a house and you talk to the window.
>>243733128https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy8Sfqxf2bYVid related. I think he might also be using a pair of trousers I've never seen in the game before but that could just be my total inexperience of fashionborne. Shit's kinda weird and I'm intrigued.>>243733229If he knocks you down in beast form, dodge through his attacks to the forward left/right. If you dodge backwards or stay on the ground he can chain lunge you to death.
>>243733945No, I've beat Cleric Beast who at least felt fair. Gascoigne can do a bunch of shit I can't, like cancelling out of his own fucking animations, and stunlocking me so I can't dodge at all.
>>243734520Trust me anon. It might feel unfair now, but if you persevere, you'll see how easy he is on your next playthrough. I promise.
>>243734204That IS pretty weird. I have no explanation. Unrelated, but what BL are you? Are you getting frequent invasions in that area?
>>243734520What weapon are you using anyway?

>>243734791BL100. I used to get really frequent Nightmare invasions at this level but not so much anymore- it's not really dead by any means but you do have to wait around. I think I lucked out here.
>>243734916Maybe try focusing more on dodging his attacks and studying his moveset. He'll get more predictable if you pay close attention to him

>>243732761God I wish the wall actually filled up like this
>>243733229His attacks don't really track that much, you just need to roll away later in his windup, or better yet parry. You don't need music box or molotovs, you just need to dodge to his sides and punish his ass. And learn to parry
>>243733229Anon, this will seem like a weird question but: Have you played any Souls game before? If you have, you're at a disadvantage because you need to unlearn shit.Because El Padre is essentially a trap boss meant to punish the bad habits you learn playing Dark Souls. Turtle up? Kills you easily. Dodge backwards? Kiss you easily.Bring the fight to him. Get the fuck up in his face and don't give him any chances. Dodge toward him to close gaps and to make his attacks overshoot. And learn the might of the sidedodge. You are invincible for FAR longer than you think during a sidedodge, more than enough to bullshit your way through his gunfire.

I for the life of me can't beat Maria. BB has been pretty easy for me, I've beaten probably 80% of the bosses on my first try and just have her and orphan left. But fuck me she's hard.
>>24375822790% of her moves have a blindspot behind her right shoulder, and you can always just interrupt literally everything she does.
>>243758227you can dodge through almost all of her attacks, or even walk around her. she does one very delayed swing with tracking with both swords that you need to be on the other side for (not the side she's swinging towards). p2 and p3 can be made easier by parrying or just gun spamming and hoping to land a parry. good luck!
>>243758227Is it her final phase with the 2x lingering hitboxes? Yea, one wrong move and it's stunlock time. But her initial phase(s) aren't bad, you can just doge. Also pizza time is your best friend here.
So with all this new cheat fuckery, what is the absolute minimum shit I need to do to get on FRCs and gem farm?I imagine I still need to kill most of the story bosses and Mensis Brain?
Christ, Honestly surprised to see this general still around.I have not been here in yearshttps://youtu.be/Pa_k1WfMdzs
>>243761116There's generals of visual novels that came out 7 years ago, what do you expect
>>243759587Technically to get to the FRCs all you need is the pthumeru root chalice, so in terms of story progression just BSB. You can then use glyphs to go to the false depths story dungeons, which essentially just skips to the tail end of the chalice run. Run Isz, Ihyll and Lower Loran until you get the root chalices/sinister chalices you want (you technically only need 1 root chalice, sinisters can suffice for the other two). Then run the false depth ritual material dungeon one to two times and make your FRC.Story progression beyond BSB is optional, but probably recommended since you'll be fighting some tough depth 5 bosses. You'll want to be a decent level and have some decent gear.
>>243761973Well goddamn. I might just fire up the game and do that, if only for the novelty. Are the chalices that drop the Root chalices all the same old story chalices, just flagged as Pthumerian Labyrinth?
>>243762627Yup, they're exactly the same If you're looking for glyphs this page on the bloodborne wiki has them allhttps://www.bloodborne-wiki.com/2017/11/save-editing-chalice-dungeons.htmlthere's also a google doc floating around that might be helpful, it was either posted in this thread or the last one.
>>243763002>YupAh. Well that's slightly less novelty.
>Calling Father Gascoigne Papa G
>>243733229There is a trick to beating bloodborne bosses. When you fight them don't always fight to win. If you go into a fight and use half of your vials then die you've lost resources. Isn't all that bit of a stretch that Logarius could've been their leader too (before the Cainhurst massacre), due to how revered he is by subsequent executioners further down the line, as implied by Alfred's zealous adoration. But this isn't all that important to the overall plot.Got any viable arguments regarding the 1st, 3rd, and 4th claims? Pretty interested in what you think.
>>243772756>Got any viable arguments regarding the 1st, 3rd, and 4th claims? Pretty interested in what you think.>Isn't it implied that it was a failed pregnancy?Mergo was a stillbirth. Which in turn caused the stillbirth of the Mensis Scholars' brains when they tries to commune with it, dead as it was. But it still lives in some form in the nightmare. >Then why does Micolash inquire Kos to "plant eyes" in his brain and ascend to higher planes of thought?Mensis was DESPERATE for commune wit great ones, which is why they went to such great lengths to perform their ritual, and bring forth a child of a Great One. Not sure why, though. They already had the brain of Mensis, and kind of Mergo. And the One Reborn, if that counts. And maybe even Kos. Then again, there are people that think the doll is a great one. >I guess he lead a band of Executioners, as explicitly stated then. Isn't all that bit of a stretch that Logarius could've been their leader tooWell, Alfred is the only executioner we meet, and he refers to him as his "Eminent Master" or something like that, so...for all intents and puposes, Logarius led the executioners. They weren't a large sect, anyway, I don't think. Just one of many things the church got up to.Many people in this thread who require concrete evidence for everything, even though none can be given, as is the nature of the narrative. After all, there is no concrete evidence that Arianna and Iosefka are birthing great one babies, either.
>>243773318>They already had the brain of Mensis, and kind of MergoOn the topic of why Mensis didn't use the Brain, it is stated that it was a vestigial, albeit legitimate Great One.>The immense brain that Mensis retrieved from the nightmare was indeed lined with eyes on the inside, but they were of an evil sort, and the brain itself was terrible rotten. But even still, it was a legitimate Great One, and left a relic. A living relic, at that, which is a precious thing indeed. Not sure why they didn't use Mergo, maybe he was too young to posses any "power" so to speak. Don't fucking understand One Reborn at all, ditch that lmao I'll stick with the headcanon that it was an unintended consequence of the beckoning.
>>243774368>it is stated that it was a vestigial, albeit legitimate Great One.I don't know much about the brain, admittedly. Where it came from, even. Did they summon it, or create it somehow? I assume they've done this blood moon ritual a ton of times, which might be responsible for the state Yharnam is in...I guess they learned all they could from the Brain and then left it on the tower..Well, when they tried to commune with Mergo, they didn't understand that he was dead, and they ended up communing with a dead great one on a plane they presumably couldn't understand, and it literally blew their minds. As far as the one reborn goes...I think headcanon is the only route we can take, unless we wanna go meta and assume that Miyazaki wanted the rotten or to reprise his tower knight from demons'.I always imagined TOR to be an attempted recreation of Mergo using the bodies and the bellmaidens. The "reborn" part of it seems to allude to something that was dead, and the only great one we know of that is "dead" and known to Mensis are Mergo

Yeah, it's interesting that Lovecraft wrote this or that, or that flowers in real life sustain themselves like this or that, or that the taro cards spell out this or that, and it's interesting that Miyazaki apparently also put these things in his game - but why did he do it? It completely neuters so many enemies and bosses.

It satisfies Bloodborne's Gothic literary and Lovecraftian roots the forbidden knowledge, forbidden not by any one person, but by virtue that it was something better left unknown by man. >>243866826Did you get that from here? http://soulslore.wikidot.com/data:pthumeru>>243866898Not so sure about that. All of Mensis seems to have died long ago, and the Pthumerian maidens and snatchers seem to be using Yahar'gul for their own purpose. At least in my opinion.
>>243867046> Logarius is also blatantly either Pthumerian or the product of experimentation with Pthumerian blood, he wields Pthumerian weaponry. Try again. So he's possibly a Pthumerian. Meaning they aren't long dead, if he comes from there? Think it through, man...>evidence against youbecause you're trying to argue that the place is long-dead. Yet you're also arguing that things still come from there.
>>243867156>All of Mensis seems to have died long agoHow so? They didn't die that long ago, because they weren't set up that long ago. Maybe you could argue that most of the characters in the game are long dead, existing only in dreams, but then...that doesn't help anyone's argument.
>>243867156>Not so sure about thatit's true though. The one reborn by mensis has a number of bell ringers aiding in it's continued existence/acting as midwives for it. They're clearly in league with mensis. Whether for their benefit or not, we can hardly say that Pthumeru is a dead civ when they're still running about. It'd be like ancient Egyptians aiding in the FDA
>>243867456For one, they're mummified, although I guess you could say that when they got nuked the aged rapidly like in The Last Crusade. But at least they seem to have died off before the events of the game. There are several mummified corpses wearing Mensis cages sitting around Yahar'gul during the first visit.
>>243867797Before the events of the game, sure. But the game takes place over a few days, really. Or even a night. Everything in-game happened before the game began. But the point is that it wasn't THAT long ago. See for example Edgar, the informant for the choir that infiltrated Mensis. When you fight him, he is alive, and he'd have to be long dead if Mensis werelong dead. No point infiltrating corpses.
>>243867456>>243867989They have died for a very long time. Evidence to suggest it is strongly implied through visually. Some of these petrified corpses have vines growing all over their bodies And right outside the cell you escape from when you submit yourself to the snatchers is a petrified corpse wearing a Mensis cage.
>>243867315It is established that Pthumerians have immortality and undeath, it is established the Church and its inner factions use Pthumerians/Pthumerian experimentation, PLEASE you have to be shitting me. You want to argue the Church Officials wandering the Cathedral Ward? Well, take for instance the pretty strange fact they're not weak to arcane like every single actual Pthumerian we encounter. It is not above the Church to dredge things out of the Labyrinths for their own sake.>because you're trying to argue that the place is long-dead. Yet you're also arguing that things still come from there.Okay, now, get this: the civilization, as a living, thriving entity, is long dead. It's rulers are, for all intents and purposes, gone. They were wiped out by the same problem Yharnam suffers. Now, just because their civilization is dead, doesn't mean that everything made or left behind mysteriously vanished. In fact, it's precisely because they left so much dangerous shit around that we get our current problem. Do you follow? It's the forbidden knowledge angle, which I will reiterate for your sake, isn't forbidden by some authority, but by the fact that it was knowledge better left untouched by mortals who cannot fathom it and end up making wretched beasts and freakish slugs. There are treasure rooms, chests, altars and sacrificial pits and things brimming with their leftovers. This is a concept that crops up in much older fiction Bloodborne takes heaps of inspiration from. Hell, I'll even argue Lovecraft - every pre-human civilization he presents us is powerful and monstrous, but at beat degraded and decadent and far past its golden age, sunken into degeneracy, or at worst, completely gone and left something awful behind. I don't know what else I can say here.
>>243868342Yet Damian is still alive. Iosefka is still alive (at the beginning anyway), and she has links with Mensis. And there are defectors.Remember not all members of Mensis were scholars of mensis.

The doll is the first great one enticed into the physical world by Pthumerians, and used as a conduit to guide great people into becoming ascended through blood echoes. She was dug up from Pthumeru and is both simultaneously alive and not alive, and therefore cannot die.

>>243870532also:>you need insight to see her, like the amygdala>she takes care of the hunter, being kind and helping them grow, rather like a surrogate mother...>she can control blood echoes, the only character that can do so

>>243872070>>243870870>>243870532>>243869671I like it, but then what's the deal with the MP? Is it invading the Doll's territory when you fight it at the end?
>>the moon presence has no power over her, and when it's dead, she persists, so she is the REAL master of the dream. But the Dream was concieved by the Moon Presence as stated by the cord we find in Gehrman's Workshop in the Waking World.
>>243872672Well, my personal theory is that Gehrman was given/found the doll in the ruins for some reason, and when the MP got a hold of him, and he realised he was alone with the doll, it was all the company he had. The great one, being basically sympathetic, became a solace for him, helps to train hunters in a way that he can't, making them stronger through the use of guided ascension and blood echoes because when the hunt ends, Gehrman can rest. but when Mensis.MP ensure a neverending cycle of blood moons and hunts, it becomes clear that the only way to save Gehrman from the MP is to train a new hunter to kill it and become a new great one. One that it can take care of. It takes over the hunter's dream when the MP is dead, with you as it's comfy slugbabby. It's actually a happy ending in the long run. A great one with its surrogate, formed of love and redemption rather than greed and lust for evolution.
>>243873034Conceived by the MP, but the MP is definitely dead when you kill it, and the dream persists. The only possible thing that could be sustaining it is the doll.
>>243873034>But the Dream was concieved by the Moon Presence"The Third Umbilical Cord precipitated the encounter with the pale moon, which beckoned the hunters and conceived the hunter's dream"Perhaps the doll is the real pale moon. The moon presence acts like a beast, and bleeds red. She doesn't.

Question about limb damage. Is it poise damage dealt or actual damage dealt that breaks limbs? Could a few bullets destroy the limbs of a boss if Bone Ashed and built properly? On that note, would a proper Bloodtinge build be able to benefit better off shooting a staggered enemy a few times over instead of a visceral attack?
>>243897886I'm 99% sure it's damage-based.Possibly. If not shooting, just R1ing another body part.
>>243873146Kinda late, but the doll exists in the real world, it's a model of Maria made presumably by Gherman. Though maybe the doll in the dream is a representation of that, given that Gherman is the only person that seems to live there, and other hunters just come and go.
>>243900894doesn't explain much about the doll, though. >>243901403>I think the Dream is sustained in post-game because, it's a fucking game.Actually no wait fuck that. In Yharnam Sunrise, you don't kill MP, in taking Gherman's spot, you don't kill MP, and when you kill MP, you become the Great One that sustains the Dream. It's consistent.
>>243901635>you become the Great One that sustains the Dream. It's consistent. You'd have no reason to. It was the will of the MP to continue the hunts.
>>243901635>>243901834Not to mention that you'd have no reason to keep it looking like it the abandoned workshop that was so close to Gehrman and the Doll.
>>243901834Maybe it's assumed that the Hunter shares MP's motivation, especially after absorbing its blood echoes?Maybe once a new plane is created it doesn't need to be maintained to continue existing? We're not thrown out of Mensis as soon as we kill Wetnurse/Brain, we're not thrown out of Frontier after we kill Amygdala. You're looking at this shit too hard.
>>243902058>You're looking at this shit too hard. How so? Is it harmful in some way to examine something I like? I'm hardly going to break it.I'm still going with the Doll, actually. The gravestones always bugged me, because why would the MP allow it? But the doll as a great one makes much more sense. They can be sympathetic, after all.To be expected, perhaps. >>243922050I’m trying, but my melee damage is currently shit because Pre-FRC arcane gems are awful, and my spells are so slow he just starts smacking me around. Boss is hard.
>>243922779shoot gloves at him he's weak to arcane
>>243922779Throw two or three 16% fire gems in a Saw. Have you not gotten him yet? I know the moment I turn my PS4 on Albatross will cuck me, but if you absolutely need it I might be assed to log in, because he's one of my favorite bosses.
>>243923118I haven’t, to my annoyance. Every boss up to here, I’ve cleared in one or two tries. Chalice Amy is a joke. This guy? Absolute cunt. I’ll wait for you if you’re gonna boot it up!
>>243923212Yeah, what the hell. I love me some Darkbeast.Give me five.
>>243923212Alright, I'm on. You wanna set a password and I'll use the SRRC.
>>243918132>>do you think water drips down at the bottom of the seaI don't know why, but that phrase always creeps me out.
>>243923667Pass is bbg. I’ll try to not die right off the bat when we fight him, 20 vitality is pain.
>>243923972I'm rusty as shit so we can get stomped together a couple times. Ringing now.
>>243923972Based SRRC. Somebody show up? Standing far enough away from the boss' door?
>>243924554Mhm. Bell isn’t crossed out, network set to worldwide, nobody else has hopped in. Pass is still ‘bbg’, minus apostrophes. This is fucky.
>>243924554>>243924787I'll try to srrc too
>>243924787It pinged a second ago, but it's not sending me in, heh.Is this a false depth or something? If you want I'll just run down to L3.
>>243923972Can I come too?
>>243924926>>243924949>>243925039If you lot all want to, I’m still ringing. Max is two though, if I recall. I’m in no real hurry, because it’s this or go bulldoze through Mensis to grab the Choir Bell. Just silenced and re-rang so let’s see if it works.
>>243925197I didn't see that other guy, I don't wanna cuck anyone. Let us know if you're doing stuff later, though.
>>243925197I got the jews come up from the gravestone too but nothing else is happening. I'll try to speedrun to L3
>>243925421I gave up after the third person asked to come along, so feel free to join.
>>243925452No rush, my man. I’ll be ringing the whole time if someone else wishes to jump in. >>243925421Probably will be! Bloodborne is my addiction for the third time now, and a 99 ARC build is proving fun. I’m eager to try out the Choir Bell at 99 ARC...
>>243925742Ringing on L3 now, maybe it'll work better than srrc
>>243925982Hell yeah. Pass is still bbg, I’m in the hallway to the arena.
i've done pvp so much i have four 10+ weapons, one +9 weapon, and five 8+ weaponsi'm not even on NG+
>>243926465>four 10+You are like a baby.
>>243927136what NG(+) are you? as i said, i haven't done any yet
This is... really unusual. I’ve been SRRCing with a friend almost nightly, and haven’t seen it take so long.
>>243927274well i feel less autistic now. thank you
>>243927261I don't think you're waiting for anyone, or they aren't waiting for you.Someone ran to L3 and rang, and I imagine they've killed Darkbeast by now.>>243927380Words can hurt you know.
>>243927261>>243926365I'm still ringing on L3 too. Usually it goes faster. Maybe host needs to restart PS4? I get the "Lost connection to the network." but it doesn't connect shortly thereafter like it usually does.
>>243927465i'm sorry :(
>>243927505I just restarted the PS4, actually, rang again, all that. It just isn’t working!
Oh wow, just got a cooperator in- gonna be running Darkbeast now!
>>243928265has /bbg/ sunk to a blogpost central?
Eyyyy Julia, sick looking build you have. Not often a charscter’s appearance stands out that way- thanks for the help!
>>243928494>said the metaposter
>>243928680Happy I could help!
At least I got to put the disc in the PS4 and log in, and listen to the SRRC for 20 minutes.Glad you got to kill Darkbeast though.
>>243928701>he implies blogposting is somehow better than metaposting/bbg/ is literally nothing more than a discord shatroom right now.
>>243928746Yeh. 2:35 EST for me, I’ll likely be doing more at like, 10-11 EST if you’re around later. Maybe Chalice Dungeons, if only bevause base game is so easy doing it with cooperators almost feels rote. If you’re around then, mite be fun.
>>243928680What was the build?
>>243928916Sorry anon, I wasn’t sure who was and wasn’t ringing at that point. Next boss that’s Fun, drop your char name and I can wait till you’re in?
>>243929221Eh, I called as much when I first replied, so.Yeah, maybe.
>>243928494>playing the game the thread is about togetherwow what a crime
>>243929467Actually, I’m gonna go through the Hunter’s Nightmare, I think. Since you’re already on, wanna do that? I’d hate for you to waste your time for nothing.
Ringing at Hunter’s Nightmare lamp, gonna try and beat Ludwig. Pass is bbg, if anyone wants in
>>243915526best voiceacting ever
>>243930996>Don't like that? Well,>Pish posh. Catch, us, if, you can, in this drrream, auv, drrreams. Why did they remove this
>>243930996>Game: Bloodborne>Franchise: Dark Souls
>>243931749bloodborne is a souls game.
>>243929724Sorry for the late reply. I appreciate the offer though.
Who is schlicking in the tree in the garden of the Abandoned Workshop?>Hmhmhm, yes...
>>243932170You’re fiiiiine. Unrelatedly, ringing again, Austen. Sorry, had my hands full with the other tentacle axe giant. Will be at the second lamp in the Nightmare.
Eyyyy, nice- beating that asshole in one go is a treat. Thanks Austen! On arcane builds, the damage is great at 99 ARC... but it doesn’t seem to significantly outstrip weapon damage on 50 STR/SKL/BLT builds, and the bullet expenditure is insane. Am I missing something?
>>243931885Call of Duty is a quake game>>243933758Blood Bullets. With enough heals, you can have effectively 145 bullets.
>>243930996>That one anon who was convinced that David Bowie voiced Micolash but wasn't credited
>>243933758for weapons you reach 85% stat saturation at 50 in a stat. 99 is 100% stat saturation. so you won't see a huge difference using your weapons. the 99 arc meme is mostly for tools. I think it started with someone taking the "how to setup arcane builds" literally and just pumped arcane to 99 and actually disregarded all other stats. since the tools continue scaling very well all the way up to 99 it becomes a sort of glass cannon build, using the tools and keeping a safe distance.
>>243931749the great ones are the lords of cinderthe main hero - sleepless one
people who say there are no brown people in Bloodborne are fucking retarded
>>243934156Fucking WHAT now?
>>243937262Henryk and the Yahargul hunters are brown

>>243937262Eileen VA is also brown
>>243937689I don't remember if it was here or on /v/ but we managed to wind up some anon into believing that David Bowie was an uncredited VA for Micolash. Some anons edited the fextra wikis and linked them here kek
Does Beast Mode increase damage of guns?
>>243940261no just physical damage
>>243937262what about Asians
>>243941981Yamamura the wanderer, which is also the name of the actual guy who took part of the artistic direction for Bloodborne (now Sekiro). Cool easter egg.
What's the correct way to dodge Bloodletting Beast's Falcon Punch? I'm realizing now on my low Vigor build that I've always been just surviving it.
Hotdog in 1D 01 0A 02 is weird>>243945497Just time it, it has like a 1.5 second windup and he never does it when you're close so you really shouldn't be seeing it anyway
>>243945497I either just outrange it or dodge through it a bit to the right, it's a pretty narrow window though.
>>243946657>you really shouldn't be seeing it anywayI get pancaked, he jumps away, and is doing it by the time I get up.That double forearm slam animation should just be replaced with a bodyslam, it never looks like it should hit me when it does.
Questions from a casual player1. Is the community max level still 120? I leveled my first character to 210 in NG+3 and the game isn't too challenging, but I can't summon for ludwig or orphan2. Is it OK to level up to 180 for NG+7. I can still summon people and everything still two-shots you3. Did any one else fall for the 99+ arcane meme?
>>243946657>>243946954They made it so its AI can showcase its entire moveset without having to waste time fishing for every specific attack.
>>243947185A lot of players go 120, you'll probably get more coop around 80 if you're looking for that but i'm not sure you'll find anybody around 200.
>>243947185The whole point of NG+ to me is increasing difficulty, why do people continue to level up to offset it? My NG+ character is BL80, I think I'm on +5 or +6. Most people here stop at or around BL98. Most people outside of here stop at BL120-150.
>>243946657>>243946954Cool stuff. Are you messing around with the developer menu or something?
>>243947137You should make a str build to force yourself to farm HBLB for Heavy Abyssal gems. Every single attack become easy to avoid after that, including the hitboxes. The only negative thing about this is that you tend to forget that the normal BLB does that grab and snack-attack if you linger underneath him for too long.
>>243947959No it's just a dev chalice
>dissatisfied with the stat spread of my current build>have to redo the entire game This is why a respec system is good. I hope if there's a BB2 they introduce one like in DSIII.
>>243948404if only there was a way to plan out a build before allocating points
>>243949582>Make a build that diverts a few extra points into a non efficient stat to try out a new weapon>I end up not liking itGee, I guess I'll go ahead and waste another 4 hours getting to where I was with my new build!
>>243947652Again, casual player. This was my first soulsgame and I want a heavier challenge. Also this >>243948404 I want a true Arcane Wizard build, but I still want to be able to coop. my next build will either be that or skill/bloodtinge for pvp
So, the Rifle Spear is kinda crappy eh?
>>243950569It's really good solo, but co-op fucks with the damage. The shotgun is the best way to deal damage without using any stamina.
Is this decent for a low level SKL build? The strenght is for Burial Blade. Should I lower END a little bit more?
>>24395035199 arc is mostly just for using the tools. and if you use tools you can stay far away so you don't need a lot of vit. 50 arc is enough for converting weapons, and most tools are good enough at that much arc too. you could make a build with 50 arc then the minimum str/skl needed for all weapons to be able to convert them and keep it under BL100.
>>243952007looks good but I would get 30 vit and 25 skl. you might also benefit more from putting the 2 points from end into str. or start military veteran 30/10/14/25/7/6 for even more str and less end. but it comes down to personal preference, especially on a low level build
>>243945497>>243950569Rifle Spear is FUN. Charged R2 is the best shit.
>>243765880>He is the most bullshit bossYou seem to be getting Laurence and Rom mixed up, friend.
>>243957794Rom is easy shit, I don't know why people have so much trouble with her.
>>243957957It's not her they have problems with. I personally never had an issue with her my first 3 playthroughs, but now her meteors are always heatseeking, and almost ALWAYS a one-shot. I can't imagine what she was like pre-patch, nor do I want to know.
Now it is deadCome hither>>243960701>>243960701>>243960701>>243960701

wait shit lmao now it's ded
>ring beckoning bell>get someone within 2 minutes>ring beckoning bell with a password to get a friend in>after two hours, still nothingWUT
>>243922139It's because they hire theatre actors instead of voice actors to play the part.
>>243928680>>243929131What was the build though?
>>243950569I like dropping a few delayed molotovs then using the fireblast to obscure my tricked R2 chargeup. Killed a few people that way.
