I admit, I fucking love all of HL sound because I've played hundreds of hours of HL and it's mods. If I was a zoomer and played HL for the first time this year I'd probably hate the sound design, but I'm a nostalgiafag boomer and it feels great.

Nunreal Tournament tried it. Dusk has some tools but I don't know what you can do besides maps.
Maybe smaller games will have full support for mods, like Prodeus, the three next 3D Realms FPS and hopefully the new Romero game will have it too.
