Speaking of Linnea Quigley, what's her best role?
Anyone seen this movie? I just saw it yesterday and was disappointed. Had a lot of badass designs but felt like they weren't really used.
>>122244028It has to be Trash, right?
Can bees really kill you like that?
>>122244123Getting stung a billion times? I guess
Not much of a carpenter's dream anymore.
>>122244076I did, but like most Italian kino, I already forgot most of it.
>>122244211On average horror actors and actresses tend to age better than most
The Keep sounds interesting, Tangerine Dream music, good cast, nice visuals, but opinions online seem to be very divided. What does /hor/ think?
What was her problem? Why wasn't she wearing a bra?
>>122244123You'd need more than 500 bee stings just to kill a small child.Unless you're allergic. Then a single sting would fuck you up.
>>122244633Her problem was all the guys in camp were gay
>>122244633It was the 80s dude. Teens never wore bras until late 00s.

I love boobies in horror films.
>>122245804Holy crap, John Candy in a horror movie.
*thows you in the water*
>>122243221it was a joke and god forgive me but I’m going to explain it:I was pretending like they meant they were looking for a “proper general” as in a general about “proper” which I was pretending was a movie or something I had never heard of, which is why it wouldn’t make sense for there to need to be a /pg/ - Proper General./hor/ has been doing just fine.
>>122243891Cant settle on what to watch tonight. Thinking one of these>Tales from the crypt movie>Creepshow movie>Night of the comet
>>122246168I didn't even feel bad about the hair curler scene
>>122244123they explain it in one of the Jackass movies that a certain number of bee stings can kill you because they each carry a small amount of a toxin and with enough you will succumb to it and die.and then Dave England and Steve-O (I think) put like ten times that amount on a tetherball and whack it around.God Bless America.
>>122244113no argument here
Posting this again. What do you guys think of Children of the Corn?Saw it when I was younger and it freaked me out so much I got nauseous and now my brain has turned it into the scariest movie ever and I'm too afraid to watch it.And what are the sequels like?
A lot of people seem to like either Prom Night or the sequel but not both. I watched Prom Night last night and thought it was pretty great. Is the sequel worth my time /tv/?
>>122246177you had to explain it because it's not a very good joke
>>122246431They're not even related from what I remember
Here's your horror movie of the day.Watched this as a kid when it came up on TV because obviously animation=for kids, right? No fuck, that.Decapitation, disembowelment, ultra violence worse than most slashers, super dark themes and sex.Plague Dogs and Watership Down pale in comparison to this.
>>122246431The sequel is a totally different beast. It's like comparing TCM and TCM2, they are both good for completely different reasons.
>>122246470>>122246525cool then I'm going to try and watch that today or tomorrow
>>122243891Is Joe Bob still doing these? I have the three marathons I know about
>>122246432I didn’t say it was, but I know the typical user base here has trouble understanding even the simplest of jokes some times and I didn’t want to deprive them of the joy that the comprehension of my dumb joke would bring. you’re welcome.
>>122244727A grown man can die from 200 stings, or live with 500It varies a lot from person to person.
>>122246431Prom Night 2 is super wacky. You could tell me it was a Elm Street movie and I'd believe you all the way.
>>122246706Yes. On shudder. There will be a Halloween special and there will be a new double feature season next year.
Vampire Rutger Hauer with a katana
>>122246431I thought the first was garbage but some anon told me the sequel is really good. I dont usually watch horror sequels though, so I may never get to it
Saw Candyman last night. Felt like a psychological thriller pretending to be a horror. Decent enough movie, but I didnt like the direction they took with from about halfway in onwards. They should have done way more with the mirror in the bathroom.
>>122246806>Buffy the Vampire SlayerI was so happy when Paul Reubens reprised his role from this movie in the What We Do In The Shadows tv show. Here's a small part with other vampires you might know:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKgRM7J0xi4
Glad to see the Sleepaway Camp love.
Watched this yesterdayActually pretty good
>>122244596Just be aware that it had troubled production and was originally meant to be 200 minutes long. The final cut ended up having a messy plot. It's still worth watching, there are some certified kino sequences. But it is apparent that it could have been much more. Shame!
>>122247011Tilda is the only one I can believe is actually a vampire IRL.

>>122244076I got memed in to seeing it because it was also titled Demons 3, so I thought it was the sequel to the aforementioned series. I think what you're saying cane be applied to a lot of Italian gore horror. It feels like the hype is always greater than the payoff.

>>122248317pleasantly surprised to see so many bubba hotep friends in the last few threads. I really enjoyed it, but would have figured it for exactly the kind of movie that would have /tv/ mindlessly screeching "REDDIT REDDIT REDDIT REEEEE" if I brought it up.
Why are incestuous relationships so common in horror movies?
>>122248905called it fairly early on in the new Netflix one
>>122248708Not really what you asked but I've been thinking about how stacked the cast for The Faculty is. It's like they knew who was about to be super popular for at least the next few years. I guess you could make it related since Josh Hartnett was in H20 a year before the faculty when he was still unfamous.

I'm not much of a Jesus Franco fan but there's a close up ass shot in Snakewoman I jerked off to twice so he's alright
I wanted to watch some kid's horror with my little cousins this month but even Beetlejuice and Gremlins was enough to give them nightmares. They are already 12 and 13 so I thought it would be okay, but I guess not...
>>122249307Yes Totally agree .
>>122249406Time for the REAL Blair Witch series
Are there any of Joe Bob's Last Drive In up on mega, my goulish friends?
>>122249503Those are both adult movies pretending to be kids movies. Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Goosebumps were made with kids in mind.
>>122249503Giving them nightmares is the point. A little movie trauma does a kid good.

>>122249963Here, someone posted it in one of these /hor/ threads:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZVVBE4amY6Y2opd1zavgvysQpGQCLHQ7/
So, there's no general thread in this board and I didn't want to make a new thread just to ask this but:I downloaded some foreigner movies, but they don't have subtitles, so I found and downloaded the subs separately.Does anyone know a good software to attach the subs to the movie so I can watch them on my TV? I tried Format Factory but it didn't seem to work (or I'm just really dumb, but still).

Do you think Joe Bob faps to her vids?
Fuuuuuck, man. These Conjuring "universe" movies (Annabelle x3, The Nun, La Llorona), are ultra-shit. It's unbelievable how bad they are.I'm watching them with someone and they look like they are enjoying them so I didn't say much, but Jesus.
>>122250885I really liked the first Conjuring movie, it's unbelievable to me how bad they managed to make the rest
>>122250704I'm planning to watch with some friends, so I would copy it to a pen-drive and bring it to their house.
>>122250859I liked her in Zena warrior
>>122250859That thing is 90% plastic, no one should be fapping to it. Every time it comes on screen I ask myself what the hell Shudder is thinking. This is the best they could do for a mail girl?
>>122250534I just use Localcast with my phone. It supports subtitles.Back in the day I used the MKVToolNix GUI to make a .mkv with custom subtitles and tracks but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a better way to do it now.
>>122250859>vidsYou really think she would be a recurring guest for her talent alone? Joe Bob is getting some of that.

Yeah, this is by far the worst I've watched this month. No idea why it's in so many 90's horror recommended lists.

If I had unlimited budget and could pick any one horror story to adapt to film, I would choose The Dunwich Horror. What would you pick, /hor/?
>>122252383Something about North Sentinel Island. I've taken an interest in that recently.
>>122252383I would adapt the story about my face
>>122251642>Localcast In this case, just having the movie and the subs files on my phone would be fine? I'll give it a try (but also try the MKVToolNix GUI just to be safe), thanks.

>>122252987>just having the movie and the subs files on my phone would be fine?Yup. I've been doing it for a couple years now.I also use the smb option to access the movies I have on my laptop when necessary.
>>122248798A total mess but I'm glad I watched it just to laugh at all the weird decisions the film made. If I remember correctly a great deal of the movie is people running around screaming
>>122249525Surprisingly accurate to it's source material. And arguably better the the Blair Witch sequels
I just realized watch 2012s "The Bay" definitely one of my favorite horror movies. I'm not a huge found footage movie guy. There's no handheld shaky cam bullshit which is nice. If you're looking for a non super natural horror movie, I would super recommend.
>>122246471It's funny because the guy who wrote this is a prominent German alt-right figure: Akif Pirinci. A turkish immigrant who regularly enrages and provokes the mainstream media with tasteless statements about Arabs and muslims being stinky, raping, stupid subhumans. He's actually been found gulty of Volksverhetzung. Weird guy. Weird film - good though.

Kino.Works as an excellent double feature with The Incredible Shrinking Man.
This has been on my watchlist for years. Finally got to watch it. Surprisingly good.
>>122244076I remember liking itSome good effectsIts italian but it isnt one of those Italian-horror movies like zombi, suspiria, etc, its like a regular horror movie from the 80s with decent effects
Is AHS 1984 seriously making every surviving character a killer or the killer's accomplice? Fucking insanity.Reminds of April Fool's Day, except people are dying.Yeah, I know American Horror Story is 90% shit, but I'm enjoying this season for what it is

The dread or anticipation or whatever you want to call it was one of the best parts about that movie and I wish more films would show less and play with expectations like that.

I've mostly only watched Argento's earlier stuff as well as>In the Black Belly of the Tarantula>The Case of the Scorpion's Tale>Blood and Black Lace>Case of the Bloody IrisI think Deep Red and Bird With the Crystal Plumage are still my favorites though. Deep Red for having the best individual moments/visuals and Crystal Plumage for the best atmosphere and pacing.Any other good recommendations, Gialo or not that let the viewer guess who the killer is? >>122266764Again, either answer the question or fuck off. You had the option to say nothing, and you went out of your way to be a dipshit.

Rewatched Silence of the Lambs, still great. Tomorrow it's rewatching Tales from the Hood + something from the backlog
>>122250534If you're using VLC, or similar really, just drop the sub into the same file as the movie. Then when the player opens choose to enable subtitles from the menu.
Not subtitles-needing-help-anon, but>Get subtitles>It has all these bizarre spelling errors>Some of them aren't even things like 0 instead of o, but are things like ( instead of THow does this happen? I used to think it was someone not fluent in English who knocked them up for someone else on fiverr, but I've even had it happen with things I won legitimately on disc. What gives?
>>122268755Sounds like a coding error like seeing &'s or sumthin. Not really sure tbqh.

>>122253731>a prominent German alt-right figure>turkish immigrantI don't want to turn this thread political, but when I think of the "alt-right" I think of how they're portrayed, ie the vanguard for Nazism and white nationalism in general in the west. Not Turkish immigrants. It's like he isn't German (because he's Turkish) and isn't a nationalist (because he doesn't even live in his own country for a start) and therefore it's difficult to accept he's "alt-right". Do you know what I mean? It's like he can't be a white German nationalist, and thus "alt-right", and equally be non-white, not even European let alone German, and a nationalist. We know only one set of these claims is true and it's the one we can prove (which you've even helped me to do). And, by that measure, he can't be "alt-right".It's not semantics btw it's just a straight up fact. Semantics is when you try to convince me that everything I've just explained as being wrong is actually right despite having nothing, no facts, not even simple logic, to back it up with.I'm not asking for much, just that you use your own brain and don't rely so much on what you're told is a fact. Especially when it can be easily proven as anything but.
Name any horror movie and I'll watch it immediately
>>122274706I couldn't get into Ginger Snaps 2, but I often see it praised so it's got to be worth a shot.
Is tales from the crypt movie from decades ago as the creepshow movie from around then?
>>122275015your logic is solid, but anyone that goes around proclaiming people “alt-right” doesn’t care about logic.
>>122274706I personally skip the 2nd one -- the whole mental hospital thing bores me. But I liked Ginger Snaps Back (the prequel). It's like Dog Soldiers crossed with The Revenant. Super comfy movie actually.
just had a bizarre thing happen.I was watching a found footage movie called The Final Project and when I loaded the file, it said it was 2 hours and 30 mins long and I thought “there’s no damn way this low budget shit is gonna be that long”then about an hour in, it just stopped in the middle of a scene and started over from the title cards and then I skipped to the last ten minutes and watched the end.never had anything like that happen before. do you think it was just a problem from whoever ripped it?
>>122263658Bay of Blood will keep you guessing who the killer is because there's a lot of them. I recommend Tenebre as well.

>>122265268im close to boomer but I dont know how to pirate shit. I have no protection on my PC aside from basic adblock so the idea of downloading shit from these torrent sites worries me. Like how the fuck do I know for a fact what I'm downloading is safe. Back in the day, I would just go on random sketchy ass Putlocker streaming sites before I figured out they will fuck your shit but I don't know any other way. I've hear of some popular torrent sites like piratebay and whatnot but I don't know if I can just to the place and start downloading shit at random or do I need to install some other unnecessary bullshit before downloading shit from the site. It's all so weird and foreign to me.
>>122277134Don't be such a brainlet anon.
Who here watching Lucio Fulci kino this month
Just finished experiencing The Greasy Strangler and I feel reborn.
>>122278235sorry for saying Paranormal Activity is trash you fucking faggot.
not the heckin woofer!
>>122277134you should stay from films like Hagazussa, then.
>>122278435Both The Beyond and City of The Living Dude are on my letterboxd Halloween season 2019 list! But they have such dull premises that I just keep skipping them and be like "I will probably just watch them tomorrow".
>>122278603You're right. I also don't watch films with retarded names like fucking Hagazussa
>>122278611story and premise matter little in fulci films. it's all about presentation, especially of creatively grisly deaths.
Somebody start new thread with The Girl Who Knew Too Much poster because I'm too lazy to start a new one
>>122278435Probably going to watch House by the Cemetery and something else. Maybe Touch of Death, House of Clocks, or A Cat in the Brain.
>>122278703This. It's all about the style, plus The Beyond's plot ends up getting pretty insane towards the end.
>>122278079A good place to start from a purely academic standpoint would be Wikipedia. You can learn about modern file-sharing technologies, as well as current internet hygiene and legality. Do your own research on software and security. I think people don't spoonfeed other people anymore because it draws attention to themselves and to sites/apps they may or may not use. Not that I would know myself.
>>122278890Cat in the Brain has all the good scenes from Touch of Death.
I'll say it. Not a fan of the 70's and 80's Italian horror films. I like the gore effects but the plots always fall completely flat and usually feature very bland wooden characters. Even a classic like Suspiria, I only really remember it for the visuals and music. The concept of >well it's about an American girl who goes to some odd ballet school in what I assume is.. Germany? That's just a weird premise and makes it hard to capture my imagination. Not weird in a creepy way, but in a way I cannot possibly relate. Everything is so obviously foreign and it doesn't help all the dialogue is poorly dubbed over. It's not even just Suspiria. Zombi 2, Inferno,The Beyond, City of the Living Dead, ect.. These are all movies that have dumb plots which usually make no sense and have bland forgettable characters, but we remember them for the effects and aesthetic. I always find myself getting bored while watching these since they also have long dialogue heavy scenes. I don't have the same problems with crappy low budget slasher flicks because even if they make no sense, I'm always entertained by the over-the-top performances that distract me in between the kill scenes which is something Italian horror films don't have. It goes>boring scene >boring scene>oh that's pretty>boring scene>cool gore>boring scene>boring scene>pretty>cool gore >boring scene >boring scene>boring scene>MAYBE a cool finaleThere's just something about Italian horror films that dont normally sit well with me for whatever reason. I do like Mario Bava films and I do enjoy Demons quite a bit, but other than that.. They aren't very good in my opinion.
>>122278977I know. I like the dark comedy aspect of Touch that aren't present in Cat. And checked.
>>122279099But Cat's great cause you get to watch Lucio playing himself.
Today's film is Frailty, oh boy!
>>122279378I can't argue with that. Especially the last scene. It's too bad Fulci didn't have the rights to his classics when he made ACITB. Yeah, it had some of The Beyond's music, but it would've been great to see something from Zombie or City of the Living Dead.
>>122279727There's so many beheadings in that kino, it's great
