Why didn't he just play the cards? I don't know much about poker to be fair.
>>
It wasn't his hand

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was a shitty hand
>>

weren't his cards actually really good?

Isn't 2 pairs decent? Was he just superstitious?
>>
Why didn't the prospector keep all those gold nuggets from the river?
>>
>>108406364
Because they weren't worth as much as today.
>>

I'm not sure if the idea of the Dead Man's Hand would have been well spread enough by the time this was set. To me, it seemed like an elaborate bluff. He might have planned to play the cards all along, but when the other dude drew, it completely changed the situation. I thought the fact that he the Dead Man's Hand was more like foreshadowing for the viewer.
>>
>>108406364
Maybe then he would have been satisfied with a handful of specks and never stumbled across Mr. Pocket. He knew what he was looking for.
>>
>>
>>108406221
Dead Man's Hand. Last guy who played it got shot in the back of the head.

Buster died getting shot in the front of the head
>>
>>108406364
Same reason you don't hunt baby animals or keep little fish: you throw them back so they can grow bigger for another time.
>>
>>108406221
because he was a misanthrope and was trying to provoke others.
>>
>>108406364
same reason he put the owls eggs back
>>
why didn't he just choose to play then fold?
>>
>>108407234
That would be cheating.
Also I think we all agree
Buster >>> mortal > gold > gal > algodones > meal

WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T HE HAVE A DRINK AFTER HE WENT TO THE LITTLE BAR FOR ONE, THEN KILLED EVERYONE, THEN HE JUST WALKED OUT AGAIN AAARGHHH MY AUTISM
>>

The mood was ruined, can't expect a man to whet his whistle with that much death in the air
>>
>>108413676
He didn't come there for the drinking.

Surly Joe was right. He saw em, he played em. He played the hand fate dealt him.

He wanted a whiskey
"I'd like me a splash of whiskey to wash the trail dust off my gullet and keep my singing voice in fettle."

>>108414041
You're dull mister.
He knew it was a dry county and knew he would be refused. His whole outfit is solely so people look down on him and try to start shit so he can shoot them. He purposefully gives off the appearance of being non threatening.
>>
>>108413676
Buster wanted an honest purchase; are you implying that he was a thief?
>>
Why wasn't t he whole fucking movie about Buster riding around and starting shit with people so he could kill them. ARGH! What a missed opportunity. The rest of the movie was a steaming pile.
>>
>>108416105
It really should have been a full fledged musical about Buster.
>>
>>108413676
Honestly because it would be stealing.
>>
>>108409689
Am I the only one who thinks this looks like green screen garbage
>>
>>108413676
You wanna talk autism?
That classic table kick headshot was so hilarious but then pissed me off because it's a single action gun (you have to cock the hammer back after each shot) so there's no way he could have done it repeatedly. Should have left it at one shot.
>>
>>108416105
I liked some of the other parts. Wish it was just the first story, the bank robber, the prospecter and the frightened girl.
>>
>>108416181
Would have ended up in my top ten for sure. What a waste, man.
