>>106881855>No blood or goreWhelp, the kids should enjoy it.
>>106882058>why doesn't the thing that's 95% robot spew blood and gore?
wow that is bad
>>106881855So she just killed two people, cool
>>106882109Because they did in the comics
>>106882558they made it blue to stay PG-13
It looks like shit but I'll probably watch it.
>>106881855This actually just sold me on the movie. Watching her kill those robots was actually real satisfying. Usually in movies like this the camera pulls away to not show the dead body but she straight up crunches their heads and they show it. Cool stuff
>>106881855Holy fuck this looks like SHIT
>>106882646so they compromised the narrative to suit a bullshit content restriction. Why should anyone care, again?
>>106881855It looks like a cross between Spy Kids and Terminator: Genisys.
I've seen better composed ps1 cutscenes.
>>106882058This plus it feels kinda slow, I'd still watch it but it feels meh
>>106883320They did pull away, though. The one time they didn't, barely any damage was done to the cyborg's face. Also they should've kept her name as gally. Alita is way too fucking awkward to speak/hear. Especially for a german like waltz.
LMAO, what the fuck is this?
>>106883693>watch out alita, this hyper-advanced cyborg with microsecond reflexes is trying to kill you!>long slow scene of alita going into a stance when her head should've been severed in 7ms
>>106881855Did Cameron put any of his own money into this? He ain't getting that money back.
Looks like Camronkino is back on the menuyeah that's my attempt at bait, this looks fucking bad jesus christ
>that cgilooks like a shitty kids film from this scene, i was looking forward to it too
>>106883800this clip is shortened, the full action sequence is different
>>106883800she's a cyborg too dumbass
>>106884034so you're trying to say the entire sequence is in slowmo, but everyones moving at normal fight-scene speed?
>>106883984so you're telling me it's even slower in the theatrical version?
>in the source material, alita is a brown/red belt in a fighting style built from the ground up around the fact the limits of the flesh are no longer a consideration.>this fight scene looks identical to any CGI fite scene from the last 20 yearsHey lets adapt an original IP but ignore absolutely everything that made it stand out!
>>106882058No blood or gore except how her fists are covered in green blood after beating that person to death
>>106881855Looks like trash> Compromising the source material to hit a rating> No gravity> Low stakes (Robot vs Robot)> Weak CGI> No fight dialogue> Takes down two robots easily in 51 seconds, no tension>>106884296Blood/Gore is not green anon.
>>106884401it is when you're a robot
>>106884401Cyborgs are not robots
panzer kunst in "live action" basically should've looked like girl's gymnastics except every attack meant accelerating a limb to relativistic velocity.
>>106881855It looks really awful in every way. What I hate the most is probably the Hans Landa character. His vibe is like something from a 90s, pre-matrix sci-fi noir movie or a French dark children's film. It's just not current. And this creepy guy is supposed to be a good guy to the audience's knowledge at first I think.Alita looks cartoonish in this clip for various reasons, the blade-hands character is also has severely dated vibes. It just keeps getting worse.
>>106884821ohhh i remember what it reminds me of it's fuckin this
>>106881855Wait, I thought this came out two years ago.
>>106884849though, i think there was a fair few 'doll-face on scary body' things done in early CGi. christ what are they thinking
>>106881855Those comments are running on pure unadulterated onions.
Why does she have such a weird fucking face when even all the other cyborgs got regular human faces?
is there anything James can do wrong?
>>106883714Alita is the official English translated name, no idea why but that's how it is
>>106881855>69 days until releaseBased Jim does it again
>>106885123They chose it because they think it'll appeal to a global audience better
>>106885175it's Lolita but james movies has to start with A
>CGI shitNot a chance
>>106883627This. It's DoA.
>>106885251More like Deleta (That)
>>106883627>Making blood blue compromises the narrative Explain?
>>106881855friendly reminder that modern action is absolute shit. You would think with the huge amount of CGI they use that they would just have good fight scenes and choreography with a stable camera. But no. It's shithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1PCtIaM_GQ
>>106881855>mechanical bodies, should be no problem with blood or gore in the furst place>still cut away from her pounding hus face into the ground>no damage whatsoever on his face I loathe the rating and wish only death to whoever came up with that cancer on the movie industry.
>>106885123Original official translatin changed some names and some people are still mad about it. Like, yeah, it's Jeru and Zalem, normal city names, why the fuck would someone change that? Is that offending someone? I just don't get it.
>>106886196>JeruZalemewww lmao. Muh biblical
>>106886091The dude's head didn't explode like a watermelon but it's clearly cracked on the floor with blue shit leaking out
>>106886283I watched oon a phone, with no sound, not wearing my glasses. You may be right.
Why is Robert Rodriguez so ungodly awful as CGI?
>>106886091Yeah this 200 million dollar movie that's already a huge risk to make should have cut it's potential audience by about 90% just so some lame fucking edgelord can see a head explode in detailgrow up
reminder anyone that is calling gally ‘alita’ should be ignored
>>106886283In both the manga and the anime that first guy she kills gets their head exploded. There's a shitload of head exploding. There's no reason those two assholes shouldn't have got their heads exploded.
>>106884401>no fight dialogueThat's good though, unless you think marvelshit fights are good because of the quips. The scene didn't look that good though, was expecting better from Cameron.
>>106884401> No fight dialogueYeah, good.
>>106886463>The scene didn't look that good though, was expecting better from Cameron.can't blame Cameron on the action for something he didn't directhe provided his toys to Rodriguez but that's about ithe said he showed up only once on the set
>>106886832Yeah, fuck you, Cameron. First he buys the rights, then he gushes on how much of a fan he is and how much he wants to do it properly, then he sits on it for 20 years, then he lets some trashmaster spic make his baby for him and barely even shows up on set to oversee the process. "Huge fan" my ass.
>>106886923>"Huge fan" my ass.but then, why even bother buying a literally who ip over anything else?
>>106886923to be more precise, he did write a 180 page draft about itand he wrote lengthy emails to Rodriguez when he had questions!
ITT Faggots with no faith in Cameron.
>>106883860Cameron is just “producing” it aka sticking his name on it. The director is the Spy Kids Director.
>>106882411>peopleYou mean toasters. Bot on bot violence needs to end.
>>106883627Nigger if it were red it would be fucking NC-17, who the fuck would see it then? The aging audience that went to see fucking Showgirls?
>>106883627>black ink on white paper>demands red bloodLow T rots the anime fan's mind
>>106881855Holy shit the movements look so bad.
>>106884273this is a great point. the action was mediocre. there are humans today that perform greater matrial arts than this horseshit.
>>106885175It means buffalo wings in Spanish.
>>106881855The double fist punch is cut from this version, they mushed up the scenes to make this fit in the games award show. I'd rather they show a shorter full cut, because this messes up the flow
>>106881855Holy fuck there is 0 weight behind any of their movement
>>106886923To be fair, part of the reason he sat so long on the rights was because there wasn't good enough SFX technology to do it properly.
>pg 13meanwhile, on the first page 13...
This is the equivalent scene of ido realizing alita is actually really strongthe thought bubble exposition is a bit clumsy here, but compare the action, the movie looks like ass in comparisonand this is when the manga is just starting out and hadn't reached the full potential yet
>>106889141>slight push propells her really highMagical girl cliche
>>106889205Those arms are mechanical, so it's not just a small push.
>>106889205but her fusing someone with the brickwork with a kick doesn't bother you?
>Wiping red blood on her face in the poster>Blood is blue in filmReally jogs my nog
>>106889366She's putting oil on het face, not blood. Read the fucking manga.
You zoomer faggots can't recognize a comfy movie. This is kino in the wild and any boomer worth his salt knows it too
>>106889141>directly comparing a western live action adaptation to a japanese mangaMovie would look like shit if Cameron tried to reproduce what works in 2d paper media to film. These guys are masters in their medium, they know what makes for a good movie
>>106889547I'm 28 and it looks pretty cringe. Christoph Waltz has hit rock fucking bottom desu.
>>106889616personally I wanted something like a jackie chan movie but with the stunt choreography replaced with CG and the whole thing made superhumannow it's just typical hollywood blockbuster fighting, which always is lame as fuck
>>106889705he always was a meme actoryou probably can't even name one movie he has starred in outside of the tarantula shitflicks
>>10688954733 hereit's shit you dumb queer
>>106882558>in the comicsManga.
>>106889915manga is just japanese for comics
>>106881855>>106889808it reminds me of the black panther bridge fight clip
>>106881855>jewish male leadof fucking course
>>106888002Cameron wrote the script and Lord knows what else. He's not just "producing" it. I mean, he's ACTUALLY producing it. Like what a producer is actually supposed to do.
>>106886196>why the fuck would someone change that80s and 90s manga had a trend there where they renamed everything just to make it sound more exotic. Mostly because the Japanese would name shit that sounds boring because it sounds exotic to them.Case in point: Zalem vs Tiphares.Or Yugo vs Hugo; Yugo just sounds like an old useless car.
>>106883630Putting Spy Kids and Terminator: Genisys in the same sentence is an insult to Spy Kids.
>Anons trashing and defending a movie based solely on a misleading trailer.I thought IMDB forums were kill
>>106890871i genuinely thought it was Jordan Peterson for about an hour after seeing the trailer
>>106886334risk aversion is why hollywood is dead/dying. Where people used to try to stand out, now everyone wants to fit in, and it caused the creativity in the medium to shrivel to nothing.
>>106889021and, apparently, there still isn't.
>>106889616so instead, the movie looks like shit because literally nothing was done with the concept or premise.
>>106891740>they changed too much, fuken ruined it>they didn't change anything but completely missed the point, fuken hacksThis is a zero win scenario
>>106891561>they're holding back the good scenes for the movie!Have you not watched a trailer in the last 20 years?
>>106891881>its only possible to do things wrong...?
>>106891891Yes, and that's how I know it's pointless to use them as a guide to a movie, especially when it's an adaptation of a known story.
>>106891906>it doesn't matter what you do you will be criticizedTell me I'm wrong.
>>106889487I's menstrual blood, not face-punch blood.
>>106891939Man, you shills are hilarious. They've had numerous opportunities to give people an idea of how this movie will be different from anything anyone has ever seen, as the foundation of the premise is the idea cyborgs have existed for hundreds of years, thus physical combat between cyborgs has been refined to an art form, but there's literally nothing of that in the trailers and all the combat they've show looks like a low-rent copy of that horrendous gold v purple fight scene from black panther.
>>106891958If the result will be the same no matter what, then it is automatically better to do something, rather than nothing at all.
>>106884955It's literally all pajeets and chinks
>>106892052When did I say otherwise? That was literally the point I was making, retard.
>>106881855>no headsquish splatter on the wallWhat the fuck. That's as signature to gunnm as you are already deading is to north star.
>>106892032>doesn't defend or promote a movie>gets called a shillwhew lad
>>106892032There are several real life martial art movesets referenced in the trailers, it's not just generic grapple and boxing moves
>>106892082All indications point to you not knowing what point you're making, as you're just mindlessly jamming away at the keyboard. Because it is your job. There has been literally nothing that stands out in any of the trailers so far. They took an original IP and did literally nothing with any of the aspects that made it noteworthy. and they're being criticized for it.
>>106892137I see reading is very hard for you. Perhaps try again? Or are you just mindlessly jamming away at the keyboard. Because it is your job.
>watch trailer>no titsD R O P P E DROPPED
>>106892158>All indications point to you not knowing what point you're makingLol sure.>There has been literally nothing that stands out in any of the trailers so farYou realize soulless marketers make the trailers, not the people that made the movie, right? If you want to discuss the movie then wait for it or a screener to come out and then discuss it, but if you really really want to discuss an ad designed to sell tickets then at least know what you're doing.
>>106892304>lmao i'm not m-marketing!>ignore the trailer and go see the movie! It'll be great!its pretty amazing how stupid you are and by extension, how stupid you think anyone else is.
>>106885714if it was true to the comics that second cyborg's head would have exploded like a gumball machine filled with spaghetti bolognese
>>106892374>ignore the trailer! stop talking about how bad it looks!>its pretty amazing how stupid you are and by extension, how stupid you think anyone else is.
>>106892391I hate it when you go for a gumball and get spaghetti instead.
>>106892180What I wanted to say was that a standout point from the trailers was actual martial arts movesets being used, and that is not common in hero flicks. I know that panzerkunst is a space martial art that evolved from multiple earth's martial arts, which make the references fitting
>>106892428>ignore the trailer! stop talking about how bad it looks!Nice strawman, did your husbando suggest that? Carry on discussing the trailer and not the movie, retard.
>>106892459>it is fitting for hyper-advanced cyborgs to use the same martial arts as meat-puppetsYou are a special kind of stupid.
>>106892527I see you're still attempting to force the narrative that trailers in no way indicate anything about a movie.
>>106881855her look is still fucking weird so its a no from me
>>106892530It literally happened in the manga
>>106892554>I see you're still attempting to force the narrative that trailers in no way indicate anything concrete about a movie.ftfy
>>106892588In this thread are a bunch of sequences from the manga. Also the pages of the scene the trailer was supposed to be. Go look at them. then realize how utterly idiotic you are for making that claim.
>>106881855That looks seriously terrible. Even X-Men Origins Wolverine had better CGI and fight scenes.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1oUy-RwW9cI'm sad this movie is going to flop and end Robert Rodriguez's career.
>>106892719>RR's career ending>a bad thingMore like someone wished for his career to end, and the monkey's paw had him take a beloved IP with him. As he's been totally worthless for just about all of his career.
>>106892673I'm talking in general of what cyborgs in the manga uses. For example there is a cyborg that uses capoeira, and one that uses a choke hold
This movie desperately needed a better fight choreographer. Someone with enough imagination to think about how a martial art designed for super humans in zero gravity would work on earth. I agree with the poster saying it looks like regular human fighting for the most part. Panzer kunst does have traditional boxing elements but the reduced emphasis on up and down isn't coming across.
