>>106853226>sicariogood movie>prisonersalso good movie>arrivalmeh kinda boring but decent movie>Blade Runner 2049Boring and gay as fuck just like OP

>>106853226He’s gonna fuck it up
>>106853226>you can name a better directoraudiard would've been a much better choice, miike or scott good 2nd choicesvillenueve isn't even 10th on the list
>>106853246Kill yourself, you're slime and you are lucky she's damaged enough to let you leech off her.
>>106853246>where do I go from here boysTo the morgue you fucking sadsack. Your parents shouldn't have let you play video games.
>>106853450no it sucked cock just like OPs dad
>>106853226Based Jim should have done it
>you can name a better directorDAMN RIGHT I CANPTA should've been all of this shit. Why has he not attempted big budget sci fi epics yet, he'd thrive. Can you imagine a world where two Dune film adaptations are made by David Lynch and PTA? That's the existence I intend to achieve.
>>106853226Im also hype for DUNE.He has a near perfect filmography, and Im hoping 2049 is the only exception to that rule. It was utter dogshit
>>106853463Yet, you can't you name a better director?Checkmate
>>106853226Villeneuve is great when working with a good script. Arrival was a turd and BR was just okay. Eric Roth is writing this, so I'm pretty hopeful.
>>106853529>his only hardcore scifi movie was shit>thinks he can make an epic icon like DuneLmao just lmaoVilleneuve is finna boutta get LYNCHED
>>106853488where did Denis touch you?
Why the fuck do people pretend to like Lynch's Dune?
>>106853607nobody does lmao not even Lynch himself
>>106853607better question, why do people pretend to like hard science-fiction
>>106853607Contrarians. I'm not saying it can't be a fun watch, but it's objectively not a good movie.
It will be total dogshit like every other Villanova movie. It will make maybe 2-300 million box office and wind up a wash for the studio. Everyone will think it looked good but ultimately it was forgettable. Lynch's movie will remain much more soulful and memorable despite facing insurmountable studio interference.
>>106853522Why should they waste time with your nerdy pew pew garbage?
>another boring, slow, dishonest film from a reddit hack
I actually have some degree of faith and optimism for it.It might not be as good as it should be, but it won't be as bad as it could be with another director
>making Dune in the current political climate where Americans get triggered over everythingIt's like he's asking for his Twitter feed to overflow with the opinions of retards. I mean name a single group of people Dune won't trigger (except well-adjusted adults but those don't use Twitter that much).
denis is competent but not good enough. not yet, maybe one day. this is going to be mediocre at best. but it's going to take 4-5 more years to come out.
Villeneuve is the perfect pick, not only because of his autistically passionate love towards the book but because all of his past projects have some elements of Dune in it, both narrative and scale wise. And considering that this is the first film in a long time where Villeneuve is the actual writer (along with the co-writer Eric Roth) you can be sure that he doesn't want for anyone to twist his vision in any way, as opposed to the usual practice where he had to make heavy logistics to execute the best possible film out of mediocre scripts he was handed with (seriously, read the BR2049 script and see how much garbage Villeneuve dumped or how he translated literal exposition from the script into pure visual language, Fancher can't write for shit)The only problem here is that I don't see this film being a financial success in any way possible, no matter the budget or the quality of his execution. Dune is an even more niche subject matter than Blade Runner, even if the cast ends up being the most popular A list cast the general public will not give a single fuck about it whatsoever. I guess he loves the book so much he will take one for the team yet again just to deliver his artistic expression
>>106853734>this kills the average /tv/ 2049iggers
>>106853748>Not realizing Dune is a massive exercise in Muslim apologism, so the clickbait writers will love it
>>106853783The fact that it's getting made at all after Blade Runner 2049's initial box office is interesting. I think these epic science fiction movies must generate a lot of long term revenue from hard copies and streaming sites.
>>106853798I'm sure they'll love A WHITE MALE leading a bunch of sandpeople and then telling the strong women of the universe to get lost.It gets even better in the following books where we see that Paul failed. And god have mercy if by some miracle we actually make it to God Emperor of Dune and beyond. The worst part is that all characters (except maybe the Harkonnens) are really well written. Especially the women.
>>106853675>>106853675Christ what the FUCK was Dennis thinking with that fucking scene my GOD. Lynch’s knife fight in the cave is 10x better than that embarassing shit
>>106853722That documentary was cringe as fuck. Reddit personified. “Lyke omfg dink about if we woulda did it xD xD xD!!!” God i regret having watched the whole thing, could jave spent that time fapping to shota or something. Anything would have been better.
>>106853783>Dune is an even more niche subject matter than Blade Runner, even if the cast ends up being the most popular A list cast the general public will not give a single fuck about it whatsoever.Call me a hipster, but this is what makes it even more appealing, like jacking it with lotion.I love being the only one in the theater anyway.
>>106853857That white saviour shit is in every avengers movie, but it doesn't stop people kissing marvel's ass for progressiveness. As long as the space muslims are well cast and have prominent roles, it'll be find.
>>106853734This comparison is so dumb, did you really expect K to start monologueing as he died? 1 it would not suit his character and 2 it would be so obvious it would border on parody.
>>106853922>Paul>a saviorUhm sweaty. If they do it faithfully Paul will bring war and death to the galaxy (and has visions of these things), followed by a theocracy which will be mostly led by a tyrant. Also I don't think the average clickbait writer could resist pointing out the fact that the women in the story aren't perfect. I bet they'd get "mad" at the fact that the Bene Gesserit are quite manipulative and use this power quite often. And don't get me started on what goes on in book 5 and 6.
>>106853959Why is it a dumb comparison? It's almost the same scene. The the first one is a character reciting lines into the camera, in BR2049 that same scene is expressed visually. The fact that he DOESN'T have a monologue is great.
who the fuck is bankrolling this?
>>106853246lmao at the triggered roasties and betas replying to this. You're living the dream.
>>106853675>Not realising that Luv's tears were lost in the sea that was filled with rain
>>1068537342049 makes you feel sympathy by showing and not telling
>>106854049i don't like br2049 much, but the ending is great, better than blade runner's
>>106854049Yeah, this scene was kino. This and the AAA scene are th onky things which made the film mentionable
>>106854049Well yeah ok, the comparison itself isn't dumb but the bait image saying Br2049 is shit because it doesn't have the dialogue is dumb.
>>106854049did he died?
>>106854198Yeah, why would tears in the rain play? If he lives?
>>106854049>reel human bean>an a real hero
>>106854054I'm curious myself.
should i read the books?
>>106854207I thought he was just bummed out because he didn't get the girl or found out he wasn't "the one"
>>106854260The girl wasn't even real
>>106854286It was real to him.
>>106853675Not defending the scene, but wouldn't it have been ultra hacky if the movie ended on a monologue again?
>>106853226I've never seen or read Dune, but Villeneuve is a decent enough director.
>>106854378Villeneuve is going be great. Finally some faith is restored in the future. 2019-2020 will be a great year
>>106853226Villeneuve is shit director as his fanbase, OP is pretty good example. Nolan has more talent, and he has also better fanbase which is suprising.
>>106855041screenplay is by the guy who did Munich, Forrest Gump, The Postman, The Good Shepherd.
>>106854378>>106855041redditors plebs.. There is nothing memorable or remarkable in any Villeneuve film, he has no own style, are his flicks are forgettable schlock for teenagers who think they have good taste.
>>106853226All seems great for now. Fraser as the DP seems like a great choice aswell
>>106853529You are beyond a meme at this point.
>>106853959The first comparison is the dumb one you illiterate idiot. Before the tears in rain monologue Roy is howling.
>>106854376Essentially this. If one compares a monologue with a fight is either an idiot r a dishonest individual.
>>106857119quit using the word "dishonest" you're not even using it right you faggy redditor.
>>106857190Not that anon, but he actually is using it right. Only a person can be dishonest, not the work. Even Armond White knows this, but braindead zoomer trannies took it as a meme and now even a fucking pot can apparently be dishonest
>>106853722I feel you anon. This DUNE will be divergent crossed with hunger games with black people.I wont get my hopes up.
>>106853645>>106853607care to say why it's a bad movie besides making baseless claims about the book you didn't read or repeating what someone else said or for some reason bring the 3 hr edition up?
>>106857551Jodorovsky dune is shit... Lynch dune even with producers shitting on it is still very decent and has SOUL most importantly, im talking about theatrical version because these extended version with narrator and other piece of shit gimmick are terrible
>PrisonersA product of the acting, of which Denny is clueless about>SicarioA product of the screenplay>ArrivalA fucking shitshow>2049Style > Substance, it's a more bloated and less interesting Drive
>>106857980whatever anon, the fact jodorovsky had the balls to sort of sack the guy who Hollywood hailed as "best special effects" guy, then talked about having spiritual warrior's on board only, no plebs allowed, makes me very disappointed his version never got made.arrival was shitnu blade runner was shitmost sci fi films in the last 12 year have been shit. I can just imagine CGI worms moving fast on screen action action action ,its too dark to see any detail.
>>106858041Arrival was shit, but everything else was kino and to say that Denny wasn't apart of that success after being the fucking director is just being in denial bro. Edgy is for 14 year olds dude.
As a rational homosexual, I'll watch Dune simply for my boyfriend.
>>106854054>>106854230Legendary Entertainment, here is the filmography:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legendary_Entertainment#FilmographyThey were bought out by a chinese investment corporation around 2016, if I remember right, the Warcraft movie was the last movie collaborating with the old owner. This studio has produced some of the most contrived and soul-less garbage since the buyout.
>>106853226just imagine the dishonesty.
>>106853246Cool story bro.
>>106858041>Sicario>A product of the screenplayYou clearly haven't read the screenplay, it's utter shit, but Villeneuve miraculously made a great film out of it by cutting out all the weightless generic shit.Just go ahead and read the original script and see for yourself how much of a hack Sheridan is. Villeneuve quite literally skipped the entire cringy original opening which was Alejandro having a beyond cheesy monologue about revenge or justice, so Villeneuve chose to start with that raid instead cutting the entire monologue part out, which in return made the actual introduction to Alejandro in the film ten times more powerful, mysterious and engaging. That's the difference of a director having enough prudence to take action according to his vision in any department that is necessary.
Tim Burton should direct Dune
>>106858598you are an idiot if you think that fucking Sheridan wrote a bad script.
>>106853246>>>/adv/Now fuck off, cringelord.
>>106858377I'll watch for both Timmy and Denisbr2049 and arrival are both 9/10
>>106853607because the characters and universe are still infinitely more interesting than all the capeshit of the past decade combined
>>106856606>Nolan has more talent, and he has also better fanbase which is suprising.lmfao
this movie will be shit.>screen grab this
Is Deakins filming it?
>>106853607Ive only watched it in portions. It had a lot of heart and the ambience was a great match for the one given in the book. It had some obvious flaws that turbonerds cant forgive, and yet it was far from being a lightweight movie, so neither normies nor autista can give it praise. Is still a much more 'alien' and futuristic movie than 90% of the rest of sci fi films
>>106859268I second this question.
>Timothy Chalamet as Paul
>>106858604And Johnny Depp should play Paul.
>>106853734why did the replave vangelis with hans zimmer wtf?!
>>106860629>be me>wikipedia Grieg Fraser>First Film:>Jewboy>mfw.
>>106860078johnny would play everyone
>>106858598>the screenplay, it's utter shitjust like the movie
>>106860806Vangelis is now a 75 year old fuck who didn’t make anything relevant in a decade or two, besides his Rosetta album that just sounds like Vangelis didn’t do anything new since the 80s.At best he would make a forgettable soundtrack that tries to hard to be like the original just like Williams did that for TFA.And the point of the new one is not to recreate the original soundtrack but to make something entirely standalone that only expands on the original.
>>106858793Timmy's gonna slay.

This is literally the most important and best /tv/ thread on this board.
>>106853274Imagine being this retarded
>>106860629>no Deakins Denny is about to be exposed
>>106862287He worked without Deakins on Polytechnique, Incendies, Enemy and Arrival. All of those look great.
>>106862141Right?2049 is the best sci in this decade, easily.
>>106861584it was very boring yes? this will be a shit remake. why do you have your hope up the villvue fanclub are making themselves look like shill with constant threads the movie is miles away with no cast etc etc.
>>106862375I know it gets shit on here but Elysim was way better than nu runner.
>>106864092>this will be a shit remakeIt's not a remake you absolute pea brain dumbfuck, it's a straight up fresh adaptation of the book.
>>106853274Are there any legitimate claims as to why Blade Runner 2: Electric Boogaloo is bad? All I hear is the "dishonest filmmaking" shit and it really grinds my gears. It's a good movie with great atmosphere and I feel bad for beta fags that don't like it.
>>106865780Ofcourse it's not an absolutely flawless film, those two or three audio flashbacks were indeed unnecessary and the replicant rebellion scene with them coming out of the shadows could've been executed a bit less cheesy, but to pretend like these two minutes out of a nearly 3 hour long film are the reason why the film is "bad" is beyond ridiculous. But autists want to farm (You)'s as much as possible ofcourse
>>106858635u wot m8?
Anyone else love the fact that /ourtwink/ is going to be literally the best cast person for Paul? Also he's in love with the source material so you know he's going to give his best performance that's closest to it.
>>106865869What the fuck? BASED ANON with a legitimate response. I feel like it's 2012 on here. You think the new BR anime will be worth the watch?
>From the director of PrisonersThe most IMDB sensibility film made so far. Anybody who thinks that Prisoners is above mediocre is juvenile about the medium and entirely emblematic of the video game crossposter fueled downfall of this board.Villeneuve is one of the biggest trashmasters working today, hack's hack. This is hot pocket: the movie. Cheeto dust: the flick.IMDB "FILM BUFF" pleb fodder. If you like this film then you are an enemy of the medium.>MUH BASED JAKE>MUH BASED DEAKINS>MUH DARK THRILLER>MUH RELIGIOUS SYMBOLISMAll the memes are there, it's shit.
Here's your protganist bro
>>106866068>You think the new BR anime will be worth the watch?I don't have my hopes up since Adult Swim has been pretty much shit recently, but since people like Shinichiro Watanabe are attached to it there's some potential of it not being total shit.
>>106866068>I feel like it's 2012 on hereThat's hilarious because you would have been calling everyone pretentious hipsters for shitting on blade runner 2049 if it was 2012 Or is 2012 a different board for you? Perhaps /v/?
Can't wait for Villeneuve to finally kill starshit once and for all.
>>106866174Agreed. I'll watch but AS has been complete shit for the past two years.>>106866194Nah. Never really went on /v/. /tv/ is my home brother.
