Anyone else looking forward to Venezuela becoming the new tourist destination in Latin America?

>it will be cheap as fuck
>the locals haven't seen tourists in forever
>girls are hot
>normies will be too afraid to go anywhere near venezuela for at least 10 year s

The attractions look pretty good

>Angel Falls
>Mount Roraima:
>Canaima National Park
>Los Roques
>Isla Margarita
>Merida and snow capped mountains and tropical glaciers
>Caracas: could be a big great city like Rio, Buenos Aires or Medellin
>Colonial towns like Coro or Colonia Tovar
>Los Lllanos
>Jungle abundance
>>
Tourism in Venezuela exists today. You have been swallowing too much American propaganda.
You seem to think Venezuela is some kind of North Korea, lol. WTF?
>>
>>1529960
>you'll still get robbed
>>
>>1529982
Possible, true. But if you look a lot of the locations they are in the nature. The problem is that currently you have no access to money which makes travel impossible. Crime is probably going to fall to Brazil/Central America levels pretty quick
>>
Yeah I'd love to do the Roraima trek. Chapada Diamantina in Brazil looks a bit similar, hoping to do that later this year.

>>1529965
Well from a tourist's perspective it's even worse than NK
>>
>>1529960
when?
>>
>>1529965
North Korea is just about the safest place possible for a tourist. Complete opposite of Venezuela.
>>
>>1529960
tfw I'm Colombian and Having Money is Enough Excuse to be a victim of Kidnap or Robery in Poorzuela. Now Imagine what you could expect being white.

Just don't go to that Shithole, Mine's better and safer, trust me.
>>
I got two sisters to have threesomes with me in Merida cause I bought their family food for a month. Venezuela is fun right now for foreigners. You just need to speak fluent Spanish and never ever show that you have money. Feels sketch as fuck all over the country, it's in a really sad state.
>>
>>1530306

how much do you reckon it would cost for a Venezuelan hooker to let you go full woodman/legalporno on them? or a slavic one for that matter
>>
>>1530373
$40-70 for an hour, you can do it in Colombia already. Cartegena is filled with them.

How old are you? Venezuela was king of SA before Chavez. Everyone visited Caracas

Regular. Still hot Venezuelans

By this criterion Venezuela is probably the most unsafe place in world, maybe behind Somalia.

Venezuela has typical crime rates for a Latin country undergoing a crisis. Look at this graph from Colombia. If they change the regime this year I am sure by the mid 20s real travelers will be flocking to Venezuela. Late 20s/early 30s Venezuela will be the next big travel destination in Latin America
>>
>>1530753
Colombia dealt with Narco wars, not socialism. Socialism makes a much more terrible impact on society than some narcos and jungle commies chimping out.
>>
>>1530622
You are told clearly what you can and cannot photograph. You can take photos of almost everything. Worst case, the guides just ask you to delete a picture you weren't supposed to take. North Korea is about as safe as it can get for a tourist.
>>
>>1530864

>>
>>1530888
One guy, and one who pulled a super obvious no-no during a real no-no time. Assuming you've got half a functioning brain, unlike him, traffic anywhere else is more likely to off you than the North Korea state.
>>
>>1530753
Venezuela needs to get out of extreme poverty, it will take 10-15 years to really improve.

Colombia was easy because the crime was spurred on by a fairly small number of large criminal organizations. Once those organizations were squashed the crime started falling.
>>
>>1530622
>Define safe
They tell you what is OK, and what isn't, and because you're not a retard you do as they tell you and you never have to worry about your safety because the state will torture to death anyone that hurts you and damages the country's already bad reputation. North Korea is very safe for those who aren't stupid.

Unsafe, as in Venezuela, is where as soon as the locals realize you're from a "rich" wealthy country like Ecuador you get robbed before you even leave the airport because the spare change in your back pocket can buy a lot of spoiled meat for their family.
>>
>>1529965

This.

Lots of it is still easily travelable, its just the major cities which are dangerous or places with lots of drug traffic. Most towns or cities with strong agricultural ties are fine, they have a good supply of food and thus often have flowing income. The only issue is getting between towns, planes are fine but there are areas that have road bandits which can be a pain.

On top of this, many of the natural tourist attractions in the country are still easily visited, the only issue is that operators only take USD so in the end its not way cheaper than you think.

I used to work in Maracaibo but haven't been back in 2 years, it really is very dangerous in big cities.

You just explained yourself that Venezuela is not easy to travel through. Independent backpacker travel in Venezuela is impossible at the moment. Of course I can fly into Caracas today and visit the Angel Falls no problem but that is not the premise of this thread.
>>

Afghanistan? Yemen? Maybe Iraq, not sure how bad it is now.

Does Venezuela have similar ethnic tensions to those two countries, which in those cases were exacerbated by having ruthless dictators from one of the minorities?
>>

ah yes when the leftist military dictatorship doesn't work you just swing hard right to a fascist one

>>1530927
This essentially, I've been long planning a bike tour through the region and unfortunately venezuela would've made a great starting point. its a shame since the cities are where its really bad and Colombia has closed its border so there's no point in going. But if anything the countryside is still relatively safe from most accounts.

I dare to say, almost everyone in Latin America Doesn't want anything to do with Venezuelans, because they are becoming source of Cheap Labor so they took er jobs and shit, some other bad apples commit crimes and wants free stuff because they were used to get everything free under they wrong version of Socialism..
Recently, Ecuador tightened their inmigration policy towards venezuelans Because some dude Killed her Pregnant GF with a Knife while helding her as hostage.

There's many bad shit happening with these dudes around the continent.

Ecuador and Perú are currently receiving the trash from Venezuela, even more than Colombia. So it's natural that they´re complaining. Argentina and Chile on the other hand are quite welcoming to Venezuelans because most of them are college professionals and (ex) middle class.
>>
>>1532520

You have clearly never been to Latin America. Only in Venezuela more than one million Europeans (Spaniards, Portuguese and Italians mostly) arrived between the 40s and 70s when the total population didn't even get to 8 million people.

Venezuela is whiter than Colombia or Brazil.

Pinochet was all about free market capitalism. The free markets he forced on the country are responsible for Chile being the most prosperous country in Latin America today. And they did it without an ocean of oil to exploit.

Bullshit. The U.S. is still Venezuela's biggest trading partner. The sanctions are only against specific members of Venezuela's corrupt government who were caught engaging in drug trafficking and other crimes, and against the Venezuelan government itself because it's refusing to pay old debts (gotta transfer ALL THE GOLD to Russia to pay for Maduro's new Russian mercenary regime protection force).

Presumably by contacting pimps and dropping very heavy hints. You might need to go through a variety of pimps before you find one with a sufficiently flexible sense of ethics to offer you an under-15. Being in face to face contact with maybe 5 different Venezuelan pimps inquiring about underaged girls would have maybe a 5% to 10% mortality risk, call it 7.5%.

In the meantime, you can enjoy local acitivites, like food and toilet paper shortages (which can't be solved by money, since there is often nothing on the shelves for you to buy or bid on) and being robbed by hotel and airport staff.
>>
Has anyone considered going to Venezuela with scads of dollars in small denominations and trading them for wedding rings and other precious metals?

I used to fantasise about doing that if I lived in the days of Weimar Germany, but now Venezuela is a reality. The trouble is that I wouldn't blend in with the crowd.

I don't buy this. According to wikipedia Colombia whites are 37% and Venezuela is 40% but that's without accounting for the "white flight" during the last decade. Pro tip: they are not white to begin with in either case, just light mestizos and kinda quadroon looking in Venezuela due to the fact that they have a larger Caribbean coastline, hence more african influence overall. Also based on personal experience ,I'd say Colombians are actually a bit lighter while Venezuela might be around 30-35% instead of 40% as they report , but in general both countries are extremely similar, almost identical racially speaking. Lastly, notice how Venezuelan self reported whites concentrate on the colombian border, one can expect that trend to continue into Colombia which has a larger population

t. Latino south FL fag who interacts with people from both countries frequently

>>1532520
exactly. Maybe Uruguay or some parts in Argentina tho
>>
>>1532779
I guess you are Venezuelan. Venezuelans in Florida have this attitude but they are wrong. First off, Brazil is actually the whitest of the bunch, while Colombia and Venezuela are basically identical with slight differences, both at around 1/3 white.

Most Venezuelans I've met have African traits, while only some Colombians I've met do. The latter tend to have finer traits and light eyes/hair more frequently. However, Venezuelans are slightly taller imo, probably by 1 inch

In general, the whites Latinos I've met in FL are usually the Brazilians and Cubans. Colombians/Venezuelans.can be white passing but I wouldn't call them white. The rest of Latinx (ricans, dominicans, mexicans are mostly brown with the occasional fair skinned here and there, but just like col-ven, not white)
>>
>>1535019
>both countries are extremely similar, almost identical racially speaking.

not at all, for a start, Indigenous people in each country were and are different, different linguistic groups, different phenotype etc.

For me, as a Colombian, it's fairly easy to tell when someone is Venezuelan, but also if someone is from Cali, Medellin or the coast, because the Natives of each region have very distinctive traits.
>>
>>1533349
I know a bunch of Venezuelans, kinda random, through a co-worker. Many are more of the mixed light brownish Latino standard, and black and indigenous mix is obvious, but it's also true there are more "white looking" types. This co-worker I know is 1/4 standard stock and the rest Spain-Spanish. That's how we was able to get an EU passport and GTFO. He has black hair, but green eyes, light skin.
>>
>>1533897
How would you get anything out? Up your butt?
>>
>>1535416
Presumably by either melting the gold into pearl-sized balls and swallowing it, or just wearing the maximum legal amount. Gold is non-toxic, so it would basically be no more difficult to get tax free income out of Venezuela than it would be to shit in a bucket and dissolve the shit with soapy water and a sieve. People have done a lot worse for a lot less.
>>
Won't work like that. They've been breeding a generation of super-criminals there, it'll be wildly unsafe for years.
>>
>>1535027

That is just personal anecdote. The truth is for some decades there was also a difference between Venezuela and Colombia/Brazil regarding social mobility; in Venezuela you were able as a black or mestizo to attend a good public university and become middle class through study and hard work. All of this before the crisis in the late 80's and 90's and the arrival of communism. That's why you see so many between Venezuelan expats in the United States; quite the contrary with Colombia (a country I know well) were social status is more rigid and vastly hereditary.

Chávez was openly marxist as Maduro is, they both praised Castro and took Cuba as an example and applied its disastrous policies to Venezuela for 20 years. Anticapitalism, a centrally planned economy, price controls, destruction of the free press, commie symbology every-fucking-where, from schools to hospitals. A socialist dictatorship as your typical red scum kind of government.

So funny when ignorant folks try (and fail) to explain other people's reality.

And what is this false, bullshit analogy with Trump being a Nazi?
>>
I want to go just to fuck their whores
>>
>>1537409
Anon, nobody is ever going to refer to systematic state control and interference with the economy as communism again, not if they started after 1991. That doesn't mean you can't call a spade a spade.

What I will say is that communism, as a pejorative, sounds kind of outdated. I would describe Venezuela as a leftist country, leftism being the "clever" central management of the economy by people whose salaries are completely unaffected by failure. (As we've seen, Maduro's stooges are eating well and not at all suffering from the shortages they've created. Even their money is worth more, because they have access to privileged exchange rates and prices.)
>>
>>1537261
>That's why you see so many between Venezuelan expats in the United States; quite the contrary with Colombia (a country I know well) were social status is more rigid and vastly hereditary.

Da fuc are you talking about? There are more Colombians than Venezuelans in the US. and every year more Colombians travel to the US than Venezuelans.

if there were so much social mobility in Venezuela during these years, and Venezuelans from lower classes were so well educated, then why Chávez came to power, and why Venezuelan cities are full of favelas and there are such strong social divides in the country? (the origin of most of the political turmoil we see today there).

everyone is Mestizo in Colombia and most people in the universities is mixed race.

Reading comprehension, first of all. I never said there were more Venezuelans than Colombians in the United States, I said that the proportion of mestizos abroad could be seen higher because of past social mobility (and I could add, new-money under the red regime), this social mobility like I said was affected by the crisis in the late 80s. "Favelas" are part of all Latin American societies. Chávez won because of general skepticism for traditional parties and high abstention in the 1998's election.

TL, DR: Venezuelans are whiter than Colombians but, who cares?

>>
>>1539021 (You)
I mean this is not to offend our venezuelan brothers but I wished the african venezuelans who are like 3/4 of all the immigrants here went to the coast instead of coming to the interior, a place not fit for their skin (It's cold up here). The Gochos who are actually culturally and racially Colombian and other venezuelans without thick lips could move inland as they can pass as locals and probably wouldn't suffer as much discrimination as afrovenezuelans currently do because they honestly look very different.

I suggest them to move to cities on the Caribbean like Barranquilla, or Cartagena where people look like them and have cultural similarities. Here in the interior we are introverted while most venezuelans are loud and extroverted like our coastal people

>>
>>1539801
Eh, I've been to Argentina. Most really really do not look like Anglo-Saxon (or Irish/German/French/Scandi/etc.) stock Americans or Canadians. In Argentina, it's obvious that there is a larger indian mix in people's blood, as well as straight up indios, and even the "whites" generally look like Italians or Spaniards, dark black wavy hair, ruddy skin, brown eyes, etc.

Blondes or natural lighter hair is of course seen, and some with pale skin too, but it's not super common. It stands out.
