that would both be great and kinda piss me off. I've been trying to finish my Rhino for a few years. On one hand that would solve that problem. But on the other I would now have an extra 1 armed Rhino I doubt I would be able to do anything with.

>they gave him AND korg's wrists the right hinges for weapon swinging
I'm so happy. He was already gonna be one of my favorites of the year, the only thing that'd make him perfect is if I can just put the bendy tail from the toybiz onto the new one.

I know it’s not exactly the sinister six but a box set for people to “catch up” would be great. Rhino, Mysterio with gold gauntlets and boots, maybe Doc Ock in his purple Master Planner outfit, classic Vulture and Electro, and Hobgoblin for those who missed him the first time.

>Mysterio with gold gauntlets and boots
I just painted the gauntlets and boots on my Mysterio gold. That would probably piss me off as much as getting Rhino again. I'm currently making a more "classic" Vulture so I would probably be annoyed but I doubt Hasbro would do what I'm doing so no sweat there. I'm pretty indifferent on a "classic" Electro because I think the one we got was good enough. Unless they used the 2099 body. Only way a Doc Ock would annoy me is if they gave him bendable tentacles.

But all that said they really should make a Sinister Six set for pretty much exactly the reason you said. A good "Catch Up" set for people who missed the old ones and don't want to spend huge mark ups for older figures.

>>7631089
It's only what he deserves. Stan Lee was a crook at best when it came to money. Getting milked as a toy for each time he showed up proud as if he created those characters without kirby or ditko is really not even close to a bad fate considering he's dead.
>>
>>7631343
The issue is that whatever tooling for Vulture is required, it has to cost out. Don’t see why it wouldn’t with simple repaints and rereleases though, especially five of them. Even Electro could just use the classic head on a 2099 body and it would be perfect.

just because he is sleazy, old and dead doesn't make what he did to the people, who actually designed the iconic marvel characters, anywhere near okay. loving marvel is ok, but strange to be a shill to THE guy who fucked over the people who designed the characters you're fanboying over.

He really didn't, Ditko was a fucking asshole and I don't blame Lee for not wanting to admit he was a co creator. Kirby was weak willed but Lee liked the guy at least.

Idk how true this is but someone said the figures are Marvel Girl Jean, first class Cyclops and Tiger Stripes Wolverine with an unmasked head. If true it’s some what disappointing. I’m just hoping it’s 90s Jim Lee animated series versions so I can finally finish the crew.

I don't really see it that way. Lots of dead people have lots of figures made of them. This sounds a bit like outrage culture to me.

>>
>>7631227
Dammit all, I want to finish my Sauron already! I just need the legs and left wing, but everybody is trying to sell them at jacked up prices. Some dude in a trade post on a Facebook post looking for Juggernaut tried to say he'd trade just one leg for the torso, groin and right arm for Juggs.
>>
>>7632074
>getting into BAFs in the first place
fuck that shit. Hasbro is really fucking fans over with that horrible shit. I get that they try to sell the minor or less interesting characters more but holy shit, it's just pure dogshit. The scalper market is ridiculous which only leads to situations like yours and people like >>7632068 not getting more popular figures for a decent price. They should really introduce some kind of ordering process where people can sign up and pay in advance for figures or parts they missed out on and produce that shit once the demand has reached a certain number
>>
>>7632083
>Hasbro is really fucking fans over with that horrible shit.
No they're not. Quit being a melodramatic faggot over something as ubiquitous as a BAF piece.
>>
>>7632074
I'm out here trying to get Dormammu's left leg and suffering. You pretty much need to buy the whole wave if you want the baf.
>>
>>7632074
I find anymore you’re better off just selling your pieces and buying a complete BAF, it’s pretty much always cheaper unless you happen to have the rare pieces.
>>
>>7632005
I'm hoping Jean Grey is just Jean Grey in her suit. It's not like she has a code name or anything. Scott would have and unmasked head with sunglasses and bomber jacket. Logan will have the old man Logan body with younger head and yellow flannel shirt.

You have no damn idea what kinda quantities Hasbro deals with, do you.

Here's a hint. 5 trailing zeroes is a slow day for them.

If you're having so much trouble, just buy the entire case and sell the unwanted 4-5 pieces. Someone will take em if you don't slowpoke.

Well, except the Endgame 1 wave. Wow that sucked hard.

If you buy this guy don't expect Mafex quality. He has some sloppy paint apps here and there, and his parts are mostly svaled down a bit, but for the price he's an awesome Spider-Man, and he doesn't smell like toxic chemicals in the slightest which is always a plus when it comes to bootlegs.

Anyone thinking that MCU Mysterio will eventually be easier to find, since his scarcity as well as Spidey's is cuz movie hype?

>>7632186
I'm hoping this is what that three pack is. It'd be the first time I snagged a three pack from anything ML, and I'll just sell Scott and Logan since I have their 90s versions already.
>>
>>7633078
I think his scarcity is primarily speculation based on the scarcity of the previous mysterio, especially since without a face he can fit pretty easy into a comic style display.

This is a bit different since you don't have to buy the entire wave to complete the Mysterio figure. Vulture didn't necessarily shelf-warm, but he didn't fly off shelves either, and part of that was definitely that his wing pack was the BAF of the wave.

Scarlet Witch is a vast improvement over the last one and definitely the best non-MCU female face Hasbro have done(best MCU female also happens to be Scarlet Witch IMO).

Stupid question, on the unhelmeted head with the Apoc wave figure, is there some yellowish highlight paint in the white hair? When I've seen reviews on youtube I couldn't tell if I was seeing things or what.

A lot of heating it with a hairdryer. The thing did not want to come off easy. I basically had to peel it off, cutting away the excess glue as I went and eventually had to turn the helmet inside out to get enough leverage to separate it from the head.

He's alright. Probably a must get if you really like the character. Only problem is he doesn't look up very well because of the hair and the head sculpt without the helmet is garbage. DO you mean the actual head sculpt itself or just the head in general. Because its the paintjob that makes that head look so bad. I've seen a few people repaint it and it looks way better. Which it usually the case with most action figures.

Anyone know if the upcoming Legendary Riders WW2 Captain uses the same body as the 80 anniversary two pack movie Captain?
>>
>>7634548
It does not appear to. It looks like it uses the same arms, legs and webgear but the torso looks different.
>>
>>7634558
>>
>>7634558
Damn I was thinking of taking some parts from the Legendary Rider and adding them to the 80 anniversary one. I don’t the look of the WW2 movie Cap.
>>
>>7634546
I haven't seen a better paint job on that particular head, I'm sure it could improve it to some degree, but there's only so much you can do with a sculpt that looks like this. The expression is just flat for what it's supposed to be and he looks unsure. It's definitely not something I would display him with out of the box, is my point.
>>
>>7634558
6" GI Joe customizers will like this bike.
>>
>>7634561
Better fully shot of that Cap.
>>
>>7634564
Thats mostly due to the eyes and eyebrows. The repaints I've seen made them look better. One of which gave his eyes a more bloodshot look which made him look more intense. This is why I wish Hasbro would do the face printing on the comic figures, at least for eyes.

Mine was fine aside from the hair. The sculpt wasn't completely covered and it lacked the paint wash. Otherwise the face itself I was pleasantly surprised with, I expected much worse, and the skin tone looks great aside from the neck.
The alternate head isn't completely unusable though, with a little heat and work you can get that curved barbell joint out of the default head. Not sure why you'd want to use it though, it was the worst painted of the 3 for me. Lots of heavy black wash around the eyes.

So I want to build a villain squad display. What are some good villain teams once can get as Marvel Legends?
>>
Easiest villain teams to collect are Sinister Six, Superior Foes, Dark Avengers, and Wrecking Crew. Though with Superior Foes, expect to pay latecomer tax for Boomerang and Moonstone and IIRC, we've never had a proper ML scale Dark Hawkeye (though you can sub a comic costume Hawkeye into it as a substitute). Also, if you are OK with using the Superior Foes Boomerang, you can make the OG Sinister Syndicate now that Hydroman has a figure.

X-Men villain teams are way harder.

OG Brotherhood remains unmade (Mastermind doesn't have a figure period, Toad only has a super expensive one that was one of the very first Marvel Legends and was short-packed back when short-packed Marvel Legends were next to impossible to find).

Mystique's Brotherhood also suffers from having a member with no action figure (no Destiny) and Avalanche only has a super rare figure from the tale end of the X-Men having their own separate Marvel Legends toy line when Toy Biz had the license (and which doesn't resemble Avalanche at all, as far as being part of a wave of figures with Toy Biz created costume designs). Plus Blob is a BAF (meaning he costs way more) though the Toy Biz Onslaught Pyro can be found super cheap.

Masters of Evil is a bit harder since certain characters remain MIA with no figures but about 70% of the most famous version (the Under Siege Masters of Evil) have been made.
>>
>>7636557
Spidey villains aren't too hard to find.
>>
>>7636557
Sinister Six would be the go to since you can pretty much mix and match Spidey villains as you please. I'd almost go as far to say Doc Ock should be the only real staple.
Evil Brotherhood of Mutants would probably be next in line but you'll likely have to resort to some old Toy Biz figures for completion's sake.
>>
>>7636572
>>7636577
Tbh they're probably gonna do some of the Brotherhood soon. They seem to be focusing a bit more on X-Men nowadays, as well as redoing the old Toy Biz line.

How do you guys deal with floppy accessories? I got an ML Thor just the other day but the Mjolnir keeps slowly bending towards the ground. Found both packs at gamestop today.
They're great; likenesses are spot-on across the board, and all the accessories in the Hela/Skurge pack really makes it worth the price; the sculpting on the armor on him is a work of art.
I wish the other pack had as many accessories, but I guess because Korg is a big dude it offsets that. Maybe.

Also, Goldblum's feet were wrapped around their own plastic tray. That was weird.

I was looking for them last night and couldn’t see them on the website.
So after work today, I went by the local gamestop on a whim and both packs were there. When I went to check out the guy told me he had literally received them in the morning and just put them out an hour or two before I came in.
So my suggestion would be, if you want these, to go call a GameStop close to you and have them set their packs aside, or just go there and hunt.
>>
>>7638308
They've been hitting comic shops and local toy Stores apparently. Dorksidetoys had the listings for some of the 2 packs and Thor and Iron Man up once or twice but the listings have been pulled. I doubt they'll do that when most people prefer Liefeld's skinny Toad from the 90s over fat fuck Toad.

Also, a proper Cameron Hodge is impossible unless they do him as a convention exclusive given how huge his robot body was. Best case scenario for us would be that we get the Phalanx version of him from UXM #306.

I don't. We know how much Hasbro loves to reuse bodies and who else would they use that for? Besides that fat Spider-Man guy. It's perfect for a fat fuck Toad.
>>
>>7638505
>unless this series is getting a bump for whatever reason
The 80 years one are 25 bucks MSRP for whatever reason (Hasbro's reason was fancier packaging).
>>
>>7638297
I really wish that body had regular boots, and not high heel boots; and that instead of holstered guns, actual gun accessories.
>>
>>7638585
>>7638593
Yeah, even though I'd rather have something closer to the 90's Toad (though I'd prefer it not be a 100% representation of Liefeld's art), you just know they're going to reuse Ock's body. There's any number of slim bodies they could use, but they went to the trouble of making a new buck for Ock and they're going to find a way to get their money's worth on it.
>>
>>7638640
Yeah, if they do skinny Toad I hope they just make a general version instead of basing him specifically on Liefeld's depiction. As it is, Toad's one of those characters where pretty much every artist draws him completely differently so even if you try to look up how Toad looked in a certain era, his appearances are wildly inconsistent.

If they do a fat Toad they better have a Mastermind down the line so we can finally get the full original Brotherhood.

Not the MCU ones. Look at Antman/Yellow Jacket, Cap/Crossbones, etc. Even the single figures were $25 or more.
>>
>>7638606
>Hasbro's reason was fancier packaging
No it wasn't. It's due to new tooling and extra paint.
>>
>>7638505
>>7638512
>>7638716

Usually 2-Packs are $40, with markup from GameStop, whether it’s MCU or otherwise. The 10th anniversary MCU stuff last year and the 80th anniversary (MCU and comic both) stuff gets marked up by 20%. Hasbro asked customers a while ago in a survey if they’d be okay paying $25 for a marvel legend and everyone stupidly said yes.

To their credit, the quality is better. We’re getting mostly unique sculpts with good paint apps, which apparently isn’t possible for $20 anymore. That being said, the 2-Packs all have some reuse in them to balance out some of the cost, so that’s a bummer. WWII MCU cap shares tooling with the upcoming Riders Cap. Grandmaster is being rereleased as an SDCC Exclusive. Hela was released two years ago. Etc. But at least the comic sculpts can be reused for less popular characters, hopefully under $25. But it means we get a gold Iron Man and a scaly Cap? Worth it to me at least.
>>
>>7638419
Yeah, which is lame. Also, the massive amount of underboob would probably get people all in a tissy.

Funny thing is I either don't get any of them in my area or I get them for clearance.

Last year I got Suit Tony & Mark 1 for $23 at walmart, Civil War Cap vs Crossbones for $24.99 at Target, and Repainted Miles & Spider-Gwen for $19.99 at Target.

Shopko (RIP) is the only place I ever saw Thor & Sif but they wanted like $80 for it.

Check your Gamestops right now then. X-Men vintage is hitting.

I found 3 of the figures today, and then had them removed from my hands because they fucked up and realized they were all pre-orders. Idiots.

Also, got my Hulk in from Gamestop, so here's a quick shitty photo. It's wonderful. The shirt is a rubbery piece, so it doesn't hinder articulation at all! I thought it was a plastic shell or something, but no, no. It moves with the body, so good!

With the retro X-Men wave on the way, what do you think the chances are of Hasbro doing the same for Spider-Man? I’d love to see some of these given the modern treatment.

I thought about this before, it'd be pretty awesome. They could even repaint Venom so he had that weird red/blue outline look the cartoon had sometimes.

Found a retro Cyclops today along with an Iceman and Dazzler. Left with Cyke since I missed out on the other two recent releases and he's a pretty solid figure though I wish he had the unmasked head since he went unmasked a good number of times in this costume iirc. Wonder what the one in that Jean/Wolverine/Cyclops 3 pack is gonna be based on. It's probably too much to hope for a Jim Lee re-release but I dunno what other costumes they could go with aside from the Grant Morrison look.
>>

I’ve been trying to only buy x-men waves these days but I think I’m gonna have to make an exception for this 80th stuff, it looks too good.
>>
>>7639817
I mean I would certainly be down for a lizard who doesn’t look like a dinosaur and a second chance to buy a kingpin who isn’t in a wave of shit figures, but a lot of these don’t look that different from what we’ve already got.

I can only think of the following that should be made as part of such a hypothetical line:

1. Spidey with cartoon unmasked head
2. Shocker with unmasked cartoon head
2. Venom with unmasked cartoon head
4. Alistair Smythe
5. Civilian Black Cat (since Felicia spent most of the series as a normie)
6. Cartoon Doctor Octopus

I could settle for that, or even a long robot necked hodge head that comes with another figure would feel like enough. Maybe something that could attach to the Warlock BAF figure?

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is. I remember Nightcrawler and Sinister both sold out right away when they went up, and like 2 weeks later they were back.

Is there a decent Legends library for Iron Man comic villains or are they too much of a F-listers to ship units and move the peg?

>>7640551
Grab the select rogue while you're at it, you can easily swap the arms at the shoulders and give her double elbows. The head is YMMV, but you might prefer that too.
>>
>>7640775
I saw this really good tutorial where they got the MS Rogue and cut her legs to make her a bit shorter to scale with 6" figures. Works like a charm.
>>
>>7640778
Yeah I saw that too, it's a good solution for people without the legends. Redoing the pegs for the swivels is out of my zone though.
>>
>>7640671
Well blizzard just sucks. I think that characters like crimson dynamo and titanium man would move a lot faster, but they'd be more expensive to produce.
>>
>>7640379
I'd settle for any of those options, I'd just love to get a Hodge that isn't that one 90's figure that looks more like a TMNT character.
>>
Would love to see a more modern Doc Ock (perhaps with a coat) and a Cardiac.
>>
>>7640671
Hasbro have given us a few of Iron Man rogues over the years like Iron Monger, Blizzard, Dreadknight, Grey Gargoyle, Living Laser, Madame Masque, Fin Fang Foom, Whirlwind, Radioactive Man and Ghost.
You're right though, pretty much all Iron Man's rogues gallery are obscure nobodies and I'm actually surprised we've gotten has many as we have.
>>
Still waffling on whether I want the Colossus/Jugg set, I already have the BAF Jugg so it's really down to Colossus. Does anyone know how he compares to the Select Colossus, size-wise? If they're roughly the same I'm just getting the Select.

I have the Select and he fits in just fine on my X-Shelf. Colossus is supposed to be a little taller in his metal form anyway. I'm like you though and already have the Juggs BaF. I'm pretty content with the Select.
>>
>>7641055
Doh I forgot to mention, he's standing on the base of the tamashii flight stands for the figures behind him so he's a bit taller than he should be in this shot.
>>
Comic Cap Shield
>>
I feel like I made a wish on a monkey's paw, I wanted more X-Men figures, and now they're releasing three waves of them at once and I'm going to have to scrape my wallet to catch all the ones I want before they ascend to the elemental plane of scalpers forever.

>>7641055
That is a good X-shelf, and I'm glad to see the fliers with stands, especially Archangel. His posability is so wasted when he's on the ground desperately trying not to tip over. Until I got a good stand for mine I actually just rigged up a little harness to hang him from a shelf edge that kept him tilted enough for flight poses.
>>
>>7641032
ML Juggs is a bit smaller than MS Juggs, MS Piotr is almost the same height as MS Juggs, and ML Piotr is noticeably shorter than ML Juggs, so ML Piotr should be significantly shorter than MS Piotr

I dunno, his armored height seems to vary by artist, generally he's significantly taller but not absolutely gigantic compared to his teammates. Select Colossus seems too tall to me, everyone looks like a straight up midget next to him. Even average height characters come up to his mid torso.
>>
>>7640671
You are basically fucked.

While Iron Man's rogue gallery was well represented in the original Iron Man line for the 90s Cartoon; Hasbro has 100% been douchebags about producing Iron Man villains because of their garbage "kids don't like villain toys in movie lines" bullshit for the Marvel lines.

We've gotten a couple of Iron Man rogues from Justin Hammer's goon squad but that's about it. Beetle, Blizzard, and Boomerang (granted, it's Superior Foes Boomerang). We also got Dreadknight and Ghost but both were convention exclusives (so go for big bucks) and Ghost is the garbage Thunderbolts version too/super expensive at that.

Mandarin was a Toy Biz Marvel Face-Off two-pack exclusive (the comic accurate version being the chase version from said set) and Crimson Dynamo. And Hasbro's only made movie Mandarin.

So this motherfucker showed up...I cant tell if I think it's shit or not. The elbow Joints barely have room to move. The feet have water effect parts that can come off so thats... neat I guess. He fine if you want another Spider-Man Villian but you arent killing yourself if you pass on him.
>>
>>7641214
they really missed out on an opportunity here by not giving him swappable arms, that way you could just have a generic looking dude for a thug or criminal to army build
>>
>>7641283
I'm not tryin' t' be a jerk or anything, but it's silly to refer to anything Hasbro does as a missed opportunity. They half-ass most of their releases, ensuring that you, and I and everyone'll be buying the next one (that may or may not be better).
>>
>>7641283
I guess it didn’t cost out. He just deserved the BAF treatment. Interchangeable arms, the water feet, and maybe different hands. Problem solved. But Sandman didn’t have interchangeable arms either.
>>
>>7641388
No, you're just being a narrow sighted asshole. It's not about missed opportunities, you think it's all some conspiracy to fuck the consumer over.

I am admittedly not a fan of it. Ab crunch isn’t great, arms only get 45 degrees, feet can only be flat or move down which makes bending the foot up hard, the hips can’t spread very wide, and often it doesn’t have a neck joint. And I don’t like having both a bicep swivel and an elbow swivel.

That being said, it’s better than some of the male bodies, the proportions are great, it looks like a superhero. It just suffers from being made too early, like the Bucky body. And yet it was retired long before that hot garbage.

They've made figures based on Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers: Assemble cartoon appearances, so cartoon designs aren't off the table, but they're unlikely to go back and make toys based off Evolution.

How many people are after Caliban? I don't have a good gauge on his actual popularity, but I hear about him so infrequently that I almost wonder if he'll end up like Warlock where a D-lister I like is so unpopular that I could pick him up later for basically a song.
>>
