Anyone else collect Guyver figures and want to share. Was the first series I started collecting back in 2004/2005 and one of the few tv series that has 20+ scale figures
>>7624199>few tv seriesI meant mangas adapted to tv
>>7624199This is the bottom shelf.I also have the BFC Guyvers and Murikami, but they never scaled well with the others imho, so I haven't added GII or Murikami. Would be nice if we got them in figma scale one day.I have a couple of kits to build and some more BFW figures arriving this week, so i'll post more as I add them.
More Guyver 3 pics anons.Guyver 3 was always so fucking kino
>>7624278Sure thing. I will get it out and take some pictures over the weekend when my family are out!!For now, just completed Gregole kit and added it to the display!
Have another GI coming in a couple of weeks as well.
Had a shuffle around. Gonna need more space for the rest of the Zoanoids!
I'm fucking jelly man. I really want to start collecting the Guyver releases, I only have the G-1 Figma. But those aftermarket prices... Oh god.
Missed out a long time ago on pretty much every Bio-Fighter figure... Except the 1.5 Guyver 1, since some better retailers got it, but not the others. Also completely messed up and forgot to get Guyver 3 figma at launch... and now he's just mostly selling for crazy prices. But I did get the two massive knock-off Gigantic figures for 50% off when the manufacturer was shut down and a place was liquidating them.
>>7631837Yeah, I was fortunate enough to start collecting just after the BFC Guyver III came out. They only cost me between $50-$100 each back then.I remember when Imakarum went up for pre-order for over $100 and I thought that was a lot back then. For 15 year old figures they really were ahead of their time in every respect. Worth it if you can get them!>>7631855Nice display! Sorry to hear you missed out on GIII! I see there is a bootleg now that is still selling for $70 which is crazy!!I skipped on that soft vinyl 1/6 scale Guyver, but the Sanken Gigantics awesome! Really hoping Figma do that 1/6 GI & GIII to pose with them!
>>7632087There are 1/6 Guyver 1 and Guyver 3 figures being made... They are not figmas, but still made by Max Factory. They are going to have a super articulated Skeleton.Guyver 1 has been showing up for a while at toy shows, but the Guyver 3 prototype has shown up recently as well.
>>7632087>>7632827And earlier shot of the Guyver 1 proto-type.
>>7631855>But I did get the two massive knock-off Gigantic figures for 50% off when the manufacturer was shut down and a place was liquidating themI am extremely interested in these
>>7632827That’s nice and all, but I wish Figma would continue with the line they already started. Give me at least a Lisker 2 and a Unit Zero please.
Man I don't give a fuck about 1/6 Guyver or Figma Guyver, Max Factory needs to release the goddamn BFC Archanfel already! For fuck's sakes it's been over a decade!
>bootlegs of the old max factory colleciton linei'm curious about this, how can you tell them apart besides the obvious made in china/hongkong version? and how shitty are?
>>7632851>>7633147I'm not sure whether bootlegs are the right word. They are more like unlicenced 3rd party upscales. They were released by Sanken Studios back in 2016. They were originally $300 each, but just before Sanken got shutdown they sold the 2 as a set for $300.
>>7632851>>7633147They are incredibly good quality. The articulation, paint, sculpt are top. They also have LED's installed in all of the power orbs. The only downside was the lack of accessories, particularly with the Gigantic Dark which only came with one set of hands and no chrysalis. Only plus was it came with a stand which the Gigantic didn't. Which reminds me, I really need a 2nd stand.
>>7633278>>7633281holy shit. a red repaint to make him look like gigantic exceed would be fucking amazing
>>7633278>>7633281It's a shame Sanken got shut down, they showed off prototypes for more upscaled and improved BFC figures after releasing the Gigantics, and they looked just as good.
>>7633282They were supposed to, but it never got released!!
>>7633133I still have the e-mail I received from a maxfactory employee back in 2012. I aksed him when this Archanfel would come and he said:"Dear Sir,Thank you for your inquiry about guyver series.I asked Max Factory about this and they said they will release in the future surely. We are really sorry about this late information.Thank you.Best regards.Akiyama "7 years later.......still waiting.............like waiting for new chapters...
>>7633287>BFC Gigantic Exceed never released>giant Sanken KO never releasedREEEEE
>>7633310at this point that's how you roll with this franchise
>>7633315Oh man! I need me that Polnareff wheelchair!!This is just how I feel. I was born '85 at Guyvers inception and feel an affinity to it and the last 3 years have been purgatory!!
>>7633282If only it were a bit bigger. Unfortunately it's not even to scale with the trading figures.
>>7624199In college, I ordered a vinyl model kit of Guyver. Icut the armour bits out and glued them onto a vinyl black body suit on a G.I. Joe body. I then trimmed the hands of the g.i. joe so I could slip and glue the model kits fists over it like a glove. I did the same to the feet. I painted the detais in on the head, and removed the joe head entirely and attached the modified model kit head, made to hold in place with a custom peg joint. That was pretty much the only way to get a figure of him. It was my first successful custom. It hasn't held up well over time, only because the body suit is crackling and flaking.I got the first two posable Guyver figures by Max Factory (III and I in that order)And thought they were amazing. My III is still in near mint state. My Guyver I crumbled at the joints one day like the Control Unit got broken. No regenerations here. Haven't had a new one since.
>>7633282I was actually more excited at the prospect of them doing the Enzyme II they showed. This displayed with a 1/6 Guyver I would be awesome!
Also, if i'm not mistaken, they were also doing a Guyver I and Murakami? Has anyone go the pictures?Makes me wonder whether GSC got to them and then stole thier idea. It just takes them a lot longer with licensing and so many other properties to juggle.
Does anyone know what this is?Think it appeared at a WonFes a few years back before we saw the unpainted 1/6 articulated body. Wonder if it has been shelved. I like the light up eyes!
>>7624278You asked for it. Here it comes!
>>7633653A prime1 statue?
This is why I need blood effects! Thinking i'm going to get the Storm MKs for them. It's a big investment just for effect pieces, but don't know where else I can get some!
>>7633653It was an early prototype of the 1/6, presumably to drum up interest.
I didn't even know they made an articulated figure of the Aptom form to the left, damn.
>>7633393actually it's a wheelchair of a wwe figure, i bought it time ago in a second hand shop, it does look like it>>7633401it would be almost impossible, it would end even bigger than the average person judging how he's holding aptom in >>7633404
>>7636452Very limited articulation. More a statue than a figure, but can turn its head and has an interchangeable left arm.Interestingly HobbySearch put some damaged stock up recently. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10042731Unheard of for a figure that's been out of print for 15 years, but I guess it was the "Ultimate" shelf warmer back then!
Being a Guyver fan is among the most depressing things you can think of when it comes to being fan of any franchise (except Star Wars I suppose). I loved the original ovas, I liked the 2005 series but it ended when it started getting really good and the manga is most likely never going to return. I have two of the three figmas they've released but the chances of more down the line are next to impossible despite the fact that they sell most of the production run just fine.I want to get some of the old figures but it's kinda hard and while I'm really looking forward to the 1/6, I'm positive it's going to be overpriced and considering import taxes it's maybe too hard to justify. But I still love this thing and probably always will.
Got a 2nd Guyver I in today so I can have them in different poses.
>>7636888>except Star Wars I supposeAt least they got their complete story before the easily ignorable sequels came out.
>>7637490Well, yes. Going back to Guyver, I've yet to read the manga, will I rage at some huge cliffhanger when I get to the most recent chapter or something? I've heard it gets pretty epic when it goes beyond the 2005 anime.
>>7638581It's well worth reading if you enjoyed the anime. The first 30 volumes are available scanlated online. Currently if you want to read 31-32, the group requires your proof of purchase for the 2 Japanese tankabons. It's an attempt to help support the franchise, but i'm not sure how relevant it is now it's been on hiatus for over 3 years.
>>7638581at first it kinda loses a bit of its steam some volumes after gigantic's debut, but mainly because it was to give us more details on the zoalords, sho and his gang's actual situation, and how the world works now. but it recovers imo, with this >>7633404 being the most iconic part of this slow recovering, from there shit starts getting more intense. also the world-building gave us a different way to see the zoalords and arkhanphel's ambitions.
>>7638702>>7638708That sounds really hype stuff, and exactly the reason why I was holding off to avoid being pissed off. But I think I'm finally ready to accept it's just not going to continue. Thanks anons, I guess I'll read it.
>>7635529>>7635533>>7635535>>7635540>>7635544>>7635548>>7635553>>7635557>>7637471Dope pictures. Where's the brick wall from?
>>7639038Thanks! It's 3 of the Tamashii Options Wall Brown Ver. that came out in April. I got them for my SNK display, but now thinking I need some grey ones for Guyver. https://tamashii.jp/item_brand/tamashii_option/Also, decided to display Enzyme II today
>>7639442Thanks! That's a hell of a collection.
>>7640361Thank you!>>7645381I know. What a sad moment! I couldn't leave him like that, so he's now back in action against Gregole!
