They had AB out but nothing looks new.
>>7587419No, released two years earlier
Well congrats OP for actually getting it right this time despite 2 threads on the board already.
Got my Revo Units 01 and 00 in today. God I love these things.
>>7587737They're so weird. I got the 01 evolution a while ago and absolutely hated it so I sold it and got the robot spirits. Then a couple years later I got the new 00, which I'm pretty sure is 90% the same damned figure and I love it.
>>7587361>More batman crapStop, do something else
>>7588144>Implying anybody care for DC stuff that aren't Batman related
>>7588174If you can't speak English you can't be here.
>>7587361>Evangelion Unit-01 NATAYANAGI ver.i can't find anything on this on google, does anyone has some material on how its gonna look like or being based off?
>>7587361Yamaguchi Poison Ivy NOW
>>7588178Throw me out if you can ;^)
>>7588182from google search "NATAYANAGI"
>>7588122Headsculp is everything. 01 is messed up but the rest are fine.
>>7588182The art it's based on for colors reference.
>>7588642I can pass on this, but thankfully it isn't rebuild shit
>>7588655It's funny how they're avoiding doing anything TV related. This is the closest one we got post original revoltechs.
>>7588174Nightwing, Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Two-Face are AY revos I'd buy. Then again I don't know how they look like now in this new 52 bullshit or something with the tacticool pajamas.
Why don't they do someone cool? Like night crawler or beast or StromIf they wanna do dc at least make a Superman first
>>7588762bulked up superman in AY style would be great but it might also trigger the capefans
>>7587467when? Ive never seen that silver female before.
Anyone know if this assemble borg kit got canned? Haven't seen or heard anything on it.
>>7588178he's right, DC would be a million times better off if they just deleted the IPs for the rest of their characters and just published like 20 Batman books and only made Batman movies
>>7588762To sell a decent amount in Japan the comic characters have to be at known to a certain level. With Marvel nostalgia only comes form the MvC games which is not a big group of people, so most comes from the big hit movies. There are so many characters to prioritize , we're lucky Gambit and Psylocke happened at all.Superman's popularity is weird too because the live action keeps fucking things up and he's usually not someone's favorite hero. Maybe that's cause for hesitation of release. Plus caped AYs didn't sell as well. Yamaguchi is working to making a new caped AY so it could be Superman.>>7588781Store exclusive Nexus color scheme of the IO sisters.>>7588785AB new release takes forever, like years. IO sisters quick release was very unusual. There are three other new (one just a few parts) ABs that were revealed with no news, 2 no proto. That one is a guaranteed release at this point.
>>7588785And to give you a better understanding, they were working on a female AB long before Nexus and that became the base for the IO sisters. Development is that slow.
>>7588762>>7588767>Supes with Cap proportionsMuh dick!
>>7588799Did you know that there's comics (from Marvel, DC, etc) in Japan too?
>>7588799>store exclusive colorFuck man. I wish AB's were more widely available. I always gotta get lucky with ebay, Mandarake, or weird places online. I can typically pick up main line and more common figures (like the jarkroids) on amazon japan, but the sentai lookin' robot guys, doom diver I got mad lucky and found someone on the /bst/ selling them. I'd love a silver IO - I wish I knew it was a thing before. She's probably like a $150 figure now. Where do you get your news for AB? The website (at least the one I know of) hasn't been updated since like... the golden armor Mr.Assemble figure.
>>7588912Cap is my favorite avenger and I really hated the way that figure came out. Sucks man. I dont like the dummy thicc torso/armor, the helmet looks weird, and his face sculpt is odd. At least Iron Man was a win for me.
>>7588915Yeah, recently. Probably the main reason all these AYs are modern costumes. Not sure how they're selling but it's not mainstream for sure. Not close to any manga too, they occupy a small section relatively far away in bookstores.
>>7588786batfags are the worst
>>7588912almost wish this wasnt one of the first ones he did, seeing how much better he's gotten with these, I can't help but imagine how his cap would look like now (and with a different costume choice). but yes, a superman from AY would be fun to see.
>>7588998I don't think it would've been that different, the engineering used then is about the same as the recent release. This started to use the stronger shoulder joints too. Only difference might be use of revolver joints for the torso vs two ball joints. If it's the bulky body shape, it was intentional because Yamaguchi aiming for that All Might look. I don't think that intention could change based on release order. As for costume it'll never be the classic one so Now is really the only option.
>>7588745Most of them looks okay in New52 except Poison Ivy. She got this weird black undersuit and it looks stupid. The "official" pattern of the leaves sucks too, but Yamaguchi could change that around.
>>7589016dear god that ivy with black suit sucks... and technically i like tits but that harvey just looks less sexy than the full jester outfit harley for some reason. its just a damned mess.
>>7589016>>7589040Idk Harley looks super fuckable right there.
>>7589040>Good action figure of classic outfit Harley Quinn It won't happen any time soon.
>>7589016>>7589040With that hair color I think the outfit is the best one after the classic. So I hope Yamaguchi thinks the same. The shitty movie might actually do some good and push for that Rebirth hair over the actual New52 hair. For the new Harley I don't like bleached skin look, but my understanding is they made her a female Joker and not just a regular woman wearing white face paint.
There are a bunch of Revoltechs on sale at HLJ.
>>7588639Honestly, in hand it's nowhere near that bad. Not accurate by any stretch but I honestly love the liberties taken with the Rebuild designs in the EvaEvo series anyway, and it's not horrendously derpy/badly painted/sculpted. It's not photogenic at all though and it's definitely the worst of the EE heads. Also I didn't realize the green paint was luminous until I went to bed and saw her outline glowing in the dark. Fucking awesome.
>>7588915Do you know how much domestic manga there is in Japan?
>>7589507Even for Yamaguchi the EvoEva 01 head was his worst, so I can't blame anons for hating it. I think it affected overall sales more than anything so it was a critical slip-up. Not sure what was his thought process there. I like the angle of the horn though.Natayanagi's head sculpt looks really nice so i hope we see it painted soon.
>>7589513So that's the reason because there is a lot of Amazing Yamaguchi figs based on mangas, right?
>>7589542To be fair, I'd say that Revo on the far right of the image has a far worse head than the EE. Even up close she looks pretty decent at most angles.
>>7589725...Not all angles mind you.
>>7589729Overall though she's really quite nice, I much prefer the sleeker, more refined proportions of this than the movie model's (and by extension Mafex's and RD's) slightly chubby, onesie-wearing version. Not that there's anything wrong with a MILF with a few extra curves in a onesie mind you, but for angel fighting duties it doesn't quite cut the mustard.
>>7589542>Revoltech will never redo TV series EVA-01
>>7589725>Revo on the far right of the image has a far worse head than the EEIDK I think it still has some charm. Not to mention a mouth joint. Don't care about screen accuracy but the EvaEvo 01 head...not sure what it is exactly but it looks very off. I do have it. Looks like she was born with a face deformity? if we're talking about a human. >>7589729Maybe the balance of the purple helmet areas above and below the eyes are off, too much on bottom too little top of head. In the old ones that part seems right. She shouldn't have a full upper jaw(the grey part) like that too it's more merged with the purple part.I'm looking at some hand drawn pics which are closer to Yamaguchi's style since any official model sheets or CG models are way off.Body is perfect but I wish the tip of the arm blade thing didn't stick out onto the hands, they do interfere more that I like. They definitely got a lot of mileage off of those molds, maybe more than Woody if you include the other units.
>>7589764Looking at the cleaner high-end Kaiyodo products by two very different sculptors, the jaw difference is very clear.Perhaps it's the eyes too, but I like the Yamaguchi eyes more.
>>7589784Yeah I see what you mean. I reckon if Yamaguchi resculpted just the head to the same brief with his current talent it'd look much better, assuming there wasn't some degree of detail loss in the casting (I know he has bemoaned the use of PVC with the line before). Also I have to say, that Yamaguchi sofubi looks gorgeous and if it weren't for the huge size and lack of joints I'd buy it.
>>7588786Actually, DC would be a million times better if they killed Batman.
Kaiyodo should really look into making AY Master Chief. I guarantee you only Yamaguchi can make this guy articulated enough to do the necessary poses, and more. Not sure how difficult it is to get the license but surely there's enough potential buyers in the world to turn a profit.
>>7590686You know what, I think that'd actually be a good fit.
>>7588174I'd totally buy a AY Green Lantern with fully decked out effect parts, or Starfire with crazy 90s hair and bombshell proportions.
>>7590686Speaking of licences, how well does 343 and Microsoft studios play with foreign toy companies I wonder?
>>7590936Square's made a number of Halo figurines, and a Gears character too once.Shouldn't be an issue.
>>7590931One good thing to come out of choosing New52 for AY would be to do Starfire. It won't happen of course.
>>7590976Except he cant do nice plump round breasts still but if he does im all in
>>7590686>Darkhorse styled AY Chief
Give me an AY Gorilla Grodd and its a day one preorder.
>>7591172He's saving those for Rogue
>>7591276I hope he use his best ass tech for her
Fuck, just got a new Carnage in to replace the last one that I ham-handed, and the upper-torso crunch is absolutely fucking STUCK. I can't budge that fucker, and I'm afraid to put much pressure on it because there is no way to leverage it without transferring most of the force to the triple-ball-joint in the Hips.Tried running it under hot tap-water and tried a blow-dryer. Has anyone else had this problem? Suggestions? The ball in the chest is unreasonably difficult to get to.
>>7591514And for the record, this is what happened to my first Carnage, which again was because I was trying to pull the chest apart to remove some stubborn plastic film. There isn't any safe way to grip this figure and pull or push without putting pressure on the hips.
>>7590976I-I'm not sure how comfortable I am having that on the shelf...
>>7591514>>7591516swap parts between the two until you have a good one.
>>7591514>>7591516Trying more with the blow dryer is gonna be your best bet, just running it under water isn't going to get much heat to the actual joint. When I was taking batman apart to attach a cape, I put him on a radiator on medium heat for a couple minutes. Same with iron man, one of his side torso swivels was incredibly stuck and even heat broke him loose too.
>>7591516>I was trying to pull the chest apart to remove some stubborn plastic film.Wait seriously, what did it not tear when you pulled it it or something?Sorry about the chest though anon, I'd just try enough heat for the plastic to flex from softness in your hands and either pull/try to unfreeze from there.
>>7591611Easy to do with the neck, head, arms and legs.Risk of breaking your shit goes up 80% if you try to pull anything off the 3-ball hip-joint or the torso.
>>7591514Wew, got it free. Had to pull out the neck, boil a kettle of water, and then spoon it directly ontop of the ball through the neck-hole. What fun.Now to see where the AY QC roulette lands with Ironman.
>>7591763>where the AY QC roulette lands with Ironman.Odds are paint fuck ups somewhere very noticeable. Joints wise the shoulder or elbow joints could be a bit too tight, difficult to fix.
>>7589016soul and soulless.
>>7591209You know it doesn't have to be comic based. Then they need to get approval from 2 companies instead of 1?
>>7592034That's just the standard set so far.Heck Optimus is a hodgepodge of Dreamwave and G1 proper after all.Besides it's not like throwing darkhorse into the mix would cause issues outside of maybe costing 1.5k yen more or something.
I’ve been told that this is the right thread for this, so I’m posting these:
>>7592404Dear god, I never knew I needed something like this until now. What company is making these?
>>7592412Internet seems to be claiming Bandai from what I can find.
>>7592402>>7592404>>7592407>>7592409>>7592413>>7592418wtf wow bandai is going to beat kaiyodo to the punch... and at a different price range too. if these are smaller they'd be easier sells than a full sized revoltech price. damn. i'm not complaining but i feel bad for kaiyodo if this is going to hit them hard since they're the first ones to dare go for this market but are slow to produce.
>>7592581They are tiny unpainted gashapon model kits. If you think that is at all comparable to the Revoltechs we've been getting you're insane.
>>7592402It's really not, might as well make a new thread about animals/insect toys if it doesn't already exist. Or go to Gashapon General. >>7592581This isn't the first time Bandai steps in later and kill other toylines, not for Kaiyodo, or other companies. Ultimately Revoltechs started the cherry picking IPs and releasing monthly figures under the same format. Before then it was more like making many toys from the same IP. Bandai likes to wait and see what idea sells and then just throw money into the same genre. These are capsule figures, which is really the home turf for Kaiyodo, and they have been making animal figurines for a long time there already, but not like these. It could kill the Revo Geo, it might not, might cause some adjustments. Eventually Kaiyodo will start doing another new thing and be copied if it becomes successful. With quality to price nobody can compete with Bandai so others need to fight by creative ideas.
>>7592768There's direct competition especially for overlapping insects. Because the gashapon would be smaller close to real size something like hornet and mantis would be preferable to some people over the bigger Revo Geo. And you can get many multiples before reaching the price of Revo Geo. Gashapon have a much lower barrier of entry for casual, everyday customers so they are more likely to pick these over the 7-8k yen Revo. Also some looks painted unless they're going for the pop art color.
>>7592418This looks like something I'd totally buy, but not if it comes unpainted.
>>7592792Sure, but that guy was acting as if Bandai was coming out with Revo Geos for 500 yen.
>>7592409>>7592413Looks like great cannon fodder for my fantasy heroes.
>>7592798>>7592768I'm pretty sure they have some painted details. Plastic's color for the major color of the bug plus small paint apps for the eyes and such. It still looks like a toy but not one solid color. The Dango Mushi series which was successful and lead to this happening had painted eyes. it might only take a simple wash to make them look good depending on surface texturing.
>>7592787>Or go to Gashapon General. Roger that. Carry on.>>7592814
>>7590686Aaaand Sentinel picked up Kaiyodo's slack yet again. Well not that they were likely to do Halo like with DMC but it's sad Kaiyodo isn't making a wide variety of IPs anymore.
>>7593394>Sentinelwait what now
>>7593394>>7593408>>7593413>They are doing the anniversary version of Mark VAwww man such a bad design. Fucking monkey-paw'd again.
>>7593394>>7593408Are sentinel and 1000toys interchangeable or something? It clearly says 1000toys on the placard.
>>7593442Same people basically, 1000toys is like their US office. The Sen in Sentinel is 1000 in Japanese.
>>7592810i clearly typed:>and at a different price range too. if these are smaller they'd be easier sells than a full sized revoltech price. you can't understand how a different pricing and size can eat up sales of people who'd want an articulated insect toy but were on the fence for the revo geos due to their pricing and size? learn to read.>>7592792this other anon got it.cool, we'll go to gashapon general. in other news, still waiting for Yamaguchi to do more stuff than superhero soon. I need a full sized Kerberos Gear from revoltech. My old one is too small.
>>7593394>it's sad Kaiyodo isn't making a wide variety of IPs anymore.Yeah. I don't know how profitable capeshit is overall, but they're missing out on a lot of Jap IP's that have a time window of popularity. Like everyone wants an AY Dante now, but will it sell as well as they need it to a year or two down the line? Anime and games are relatively seasonal.
>>7593550revoltech of classic Dante from DMC1 is what they should go for instead of flavor of the month/year dante. hell, i'll take dmc3 dante again at current revo engineering and size.what i want is onimusha 3 samanosuke and jean reno but.. yeah, that will never happen.
>>7593444Nah, they are different. Everything that is sold with that Sentinel lable is way more expensive.Just look at their regular Dante and regular 100toys' Hellboy, 125USD vs 80 USD.
>>7592402>>7592404>>7592407>>7592421>>7592422>>7592433At this rate it seems more and more possible that there will one day be articulated figures of Cambrian animals.
>>7594031revoltech coelacanth is really high up on my list besides the japanese hornet, mantis and stag beetle.
A thread or two ago someone posted an image of a deconstructed AY Iron Man, does anyone here have that saved? Just got mine in and the butterfly slider joint is quite loose, just looking for a guide to help me buff it up.
>>7593973Who cares? They are both revealed at a Sentinel event in Japan. It's like being so specific about which department of Bandai (Spirits) a toy is from, instead of only saying Bandai. I think the actual difference is the IP license they have. And maybe distribution rights. Price difference is only a byproduct of that.
>>7594253Here.If anyone has the same thing for Carnage, post it.
>>7594253>>7594285Also look at this guy's tweet maybe. https://mobile.twitter.com/jojoliver252521/status/1134449329853173760
>>7594285>>7594289My man, thank you for posting this!
>>7593379that looks ugly af
Any tips on good custom capes for the AY batman? The articulated one is just frustrating.
>>7594794How so? I've had the figure for a while now and I've always seen people complains about it but I think it's actually pretty fun and can be used for some awesome poses.
>>7594361So far. The arms are nowhere near final
>>7592415This looks like the Fujimi Living Think Arc model kit. It’s up for preorder at HLJ and their beetle kits are in stock.
>>7594266I care. Everyrhing under Sentinel label is heavilly overpriced, while the product isn't worth the money they are asking..
>>7594861Don't get me wrong, I do like it but it's finicky to work with plus too big for my shelf. Right now I'm just looking for a good cloth cape for it. You definitely pull off some nice poses with enough thought and patience with it.
When AY resume (well start for this brand) releasing Japanes IPs, I wonder if they'll consider some left field selection again.I was recently reminded of this existing. In terms of acquiring rights it shouldn't be difficult? Reboot movie of Silver Kamen and Red Baron made by a guy who left Tsuburaya and made his own production. Not sure if the film was successful but reviews points toward not terrible?I only brought it up because the new designs are perfect for Yamaguchi. I assume the film was heavily inspired by Pacific Rim and since we know Revoltechs of that aren't happening, these could be real fun.
Bad guy too perhaps.
My main interest is with the new Silver Kamen.
Other suit looks cool too
Effect parts recreating this would look amazing
>>7594921Dude, do your eyes suck or something? That one has like at least a dozen less joints the one anon posted, and a bunch of posters already identified it as a Gashapon.
>>7595805This reminds me that we need warframe figures from anyone, especially Kaiyodo.
>>7595811>>7595813And the beauty of these two are you only need to make the head, crotch and shoulders to do the enemy. So the costs can be split across two releases.
>>7595822More MGR Raiden. Nice.
>>7596004Pretty much my thought process.
>>7595822I'd kill for an articulated figure of that monster
Found some places selling the new ironman for 7000 yen, is he worth picking up at that price?
>>7596479Probably, that's only a 500-600yen late tax.
>>7596479Honestly, you might want to wait for the re-release, pretty sure it's guaranteed, because the paints on this release was messy. Since something like that doesn't go unnoticed to Kaiyodo they will likely improve on it for the second release. If you're a patient man.If you think you'd want more than one of the same figure you should get one now and hope you get lucky. That price is as good as it'd get for now.
>>7596478It's very Tsuburaya-like alien design but modern day detailing.
AY Iron Man is being reissued already, out in September
>>7597653Ah you got it out before me haha. They probably expected him to go out of stock so had the factory schedule open. Or the production line they have now can't make enough for the one release to satisfy the demand. They might've had less confidence because there were so many Iron Man Figuarts so they lower the amount produced. They should go strong.I do hope they fix the painting process. I think the main problem was assembling/packaging before the paint dried.
Iron Man's getting a reissue/restock!https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail?scode=FIGURE-045369-S001
Guys, I heard Iron Man's getting a reissue. Cool, right?
>>7597781Everybody deserves to own him. I'm having so much fun with mine I don't even feel bad about missing out on the figuarts.
>>7595901>Dude, do your eyes suck or something?Yes, they actually do suck. I did notice it looked different after posting. I don’t think anyone minds having more options though.
It looks like the body of two Abyss Seekers.
