I really like the look of their Cyclops from its promos, but i'm waiting for it to release before i end up buying it.

I've been wanting a good cyclops for ages and since the Mezco one looks rubbish Mafex will have to be my savior.

Better review with close up shots for mafex Eva. Look at all the paint and panel line splatter and paint just not properly cured. Plastic can look good in certain lighting though which is a semi relief. https://youtu.be/HjtGnUUU87g

Deadpool is pretty good.
He actually comes with gun holding hands if the lack of guns bother you and he can even hold the Revoltech's guns.
He isn't perfect but he doesn't have any of the awkward sculpting quirks of all the other Wade figures out there.
>>7579085
Yeah. Spidey is still easily the best Spidey figure on the market but he looked better with the more vibrant colors.
>>

I couldn't disagree more but you do you.
I feel like having a better overall figure is much more important than having guns out of the box and it isn't like there aren't plenty of 1/12 weapons out there to borrow for him.
>>
>>7583575
It's not even an improvement, the figure is lacking a lot of detail, and their plastic color cost cutting is already sneaking in with this release.

It can pose without looking stiff unlike the Legends, isn't deformed like the Figma or Revoltech, it comes with a decent amount of stuff and it captures the Gurihiru look about accurately as possible and that is good enough for me honestly.
The paint situation does seem a little bare and the guns are annoying but it is still my preferred Deadpool figure.

do u people still not get that this Deadpool is based off the specific Gwenpool comics??
>>
>>7583785
So that's why it's bad?
>>
>>7583785
Actually he was barely in Gwenpool and wasn't in this costume in his one major appearance.
This is more based on covers featuring Deadpool (I am not even sure they have done an entire issue) done by the same artist.
I guess they wanted to continue working on a Gurihiru sub line but wanted to put a proven seller in there instead of putting out something risky that Gurihiru has covered like Ms.Marvel, Squirrel Girl, the Power Pack or the new Wasp.

Should I bite the bullet & order the Mafex Pennywise? The biggest thing it has over the NECA seems to be articulation, particularly in the legs, but it also has way less accessories.
>>
Think Mafex will get the license for the Infinity War/Endgame stuff? They seemed to avoid non-Iorn Man/Spider-man MCU stuff until the Thor reveal. I just really don't want to support bandai and their shitty business practices, and even though I'd prefer Comicave versions of the newer suits I doubt thats happening since they're basically a shady as fuck company thats barely alive. Medicom are no angels but releasing 3 Mark 50 figures was a dick move by Bandai. Really hope they make 50, 85, and Rescue.
>>
>>7584238

>>

1:12 EVA would still be like 21 feet tall
>>
>>7586517
for what it's worth, their sculpt in the promo pics look like the better likeness but I'm not sure I trust mafex at this point to deliver what they promise with these pics consistently just yet. They've been on a good run recently, then that EVA 01 just looks like dog shit smeared on a good sculpt. If Pennywise turns out good, I'll happily pay the late tax and pose him next to my NECA.

At this point, the NECA is so inexpensive that you might as well grab it first. It's still a very nice toy of Pennywise.
>>
Just saw John wick 3
How's the mafex of him?
>>
>>7587224
>>7586560
The NECA’s going to be grossly out of scale with an import 1/12 collection though. Mafex Pennywise seems like a good option for tormenting your John Wick, 2001 astronauts, Freddy Mercury and Bruce Lee SHFs, etc.
>>
>>7588737
It does not yet exist but the one from the first film is pretty good.
>>
>>7588879
Why worry about scale? That's silly.
>>
>>7588879
I actually don't mind the scale error because it makes him a good monster for my bugmen. I get that he's only that huge because in the movie we only saw him contend with kids.

If the mafex pennywise is good though, i dont care if he's big enough for my other toys or not, I'll get him. Plus the only horror movie toys I still have is just the revoltech aliens, which are small too and NECA Pennywise and Pale Man is there for the slightly larger scale on my shelf.

>>
>>7589887
I am amazed it hasn't happened yet between the import lines since he is one of the most consistently popular movie Avengers as far as I can tell.
Classic Thor and Cap are the things I want the most out of the line.
>>
>>7590166
"I never yielded!" Haha I hope the release him too, I wasn't a huge fan of the lion king- I mean black panther, but this guy looked too good to pass on. Iron spidey will be my first Mafex so hopefully they both have tight joints and look as good as the promo pics, but hope the both get shipped soon.

Does Mafex have the licenses for all the infinity war characters? Do the plan to do every main character, how are the deciding which characters to produce? I would love a MK 80 iron man with rdj head and gauntlet hand...
>>
>>7590302
To be honest you sound pretty pissed because people points out that you was wrong with your complaining about the picture.
>>
>>7590361
Because people want movie Avengers, not comic avengers. X-Men and Spider-Man are more popular in comics.
>>
>>7590326
>>7590604
Pissed about what? The figure looking great?

You seem more upset about some calling you out.
>>
>>7590607
Why would comic versions of the X-Men sell and not the comic counterparts of the single biggest superhero team in movie history?
I guarantee you that they are a hotter property at the moment in the comic world and that plenty of people want Cap, Iron Man and Thor.
>>
>>7590646
because comic avengers have not quite been as popular as comic x men or comic spider-man. i dont know though if the movie has done it wonders or not.
>>
>>7590166
god i want them to do a killmonger. no other import companies have done that and the only competition is a good marvel legends. if mafex does a killmonger, I'm all in. Heck, I'd rather have Killmonger in my display than black panther.
>>
>>7590721
While the Spider-man and X-Men (I am actually not so sure how the X books are doing lately but they were huge in the 90's) books are usually better sellers than the Avengers books the Avengers are far from slouches and it isn't like comic inspired Captain America and Iron Man stuff hasn't already proven itself on the foreign toy market. If they next comic Mafex announcement isn't an Avenger I will be pretty surprised.
>>
>>7590640
okay retard
>>
>>7590640
Mad about being wrong and people pointing it out
>>
Now I'm almost positive figuarts had an exclusivity deal with Marvel to release infinity War and Endgame figures since the release of the movies up until a year, then after that is fair game for Mafex to release Avengers figures
>>
>>7590361
I just want more comic book figures anon. I was hoping they'd complete the X-Men so I don't have to get in line for the MLs.
>>
>>7590957
if so, better for Mafex to actually get their figures more screen accurate unlike shf
>>
>>7590968
I am sure we will get Gambit and at least one of the girls.
I am not sure they will get to all of the Jim Lee team members (especially Beast and Charles) but we will almost definitely get most of the big names.
>>

depends on area. i live in south east asia and marvel legends arrive here at retail stores and shopping malls for ranging from 40-60 bucks. It's a really hard sell. They end up bargain binning then you have to see if they hit a decent price whenever you visit the mall again... and even then it bargains at 30 bucks at best. i feel like marvel legends are a great option when they're 20 but at 30 i feel like they're a hard sell for me.

Just got my Eva 01 today. Was planning on starting a small to medium mecha display. What are some other good Eva figs? Doesn't necessarily need to be the same scale, but I'd prefer if 00-02 were all in the same series, like the Mafex ones.
Thanks in advance for help, anons.
>>
So now that Eva-01 has released and after all the reviews on here, would y'all recommend this over the Revoltech or some other alternative? Right now the Revo EvoEva01 is on sale at HLJ and I'm thinking of shipping some other figures out an Eva.

Except they aren't. New Iron Maiden is just as good as the old stuff, and Judas Priest only got more intense.

>abloobloo Blaze Bayley sux, I want Bruce back!
>waaah baaaw the new Bruce albums are trash! The old stuff was better!

The Blaze albums were okay and the stuff since Bruce came back sounds good too. I'll admit the Ripper era was trash but only because KK is a shit songwriter and Glenn needed Rob to co-write(Glenn's own solo album was a bit iffy in places, the lyrics were somewhat questionable) and Ripper was just a mouthpiece not allowed to contribute.

Misfits were actually better with Jerry. Fuck you. Graves was okay but he fucked up doing drugs and got rightfully tossed, and Glenn will always be a lousy one-hit wonder who can't sing or successfully sue anyone.

You listed two bands. Cool. Not all of them continue to produce good music through their careers. That however doesn't make the previous music they made bad.

I hate what Disney did to Star Wars and I refuse to give them money going forward for it. But I still enjoy the OT and parts of Revenge of the Sith. In fact watching those films is all the more upsetting because of how good they were compared to now.

I honestly think that Anon has mental problems, i mean, all his responses are very literal and taken to extremes, if he considers a part of something bad than everything is, on the other hand the bands he likes are good because he considers everything done by them good. This is quite the lack of nuance, even though he does seem to aprehend well the details of the stuff he likes. I actually know a kid with Asperger that shows similar lines of thought and behavior.

The purple colour on the Mafex looks more accurate, and so is the detail like the logo and writing on the arms, as are the seam lines that are sculpted onto both, but only painted on the Mafex, like the lines on the legs.

While the overall shape looks more accurate on the Mafex, the sculpt decisions they made for the Damashi, for me, make it easier to pose, like the hip/leg joint is super easy to pose and keep looking good in a pose.

And there is a wider gap between the shoulder fin that goes around the arm on the Damashii, making easier to move the arm, while on the Mafex I found the shoulder fin kept getting in the way.
>>
Why did they put Deadpool’s legs on ratchets, I feel like I'm gonna snap something off when I try to move them forwards and back.

And I can barley drop his legs down to get the extra poseability without pulling so hard it makes a loud squeaking noise and feeling, again, like I'm gonna break something off.
>>
>>7597909
Ok, I'm dumb, they're not on ratchets, they were just sooooo damn tight that it was making a noise like a ratchet whenever I tried to move them. I put some dish soap in the joints and now they're moving more easily (still really squeaky).
>>

I had the same squeaking on my first run homecoming spiderman's hips and justice league wonder woman's shoulders. I threw some graphite powder on spider man's hips first thing and he's been all good for the last year and a half of posing him a ton. I didn't do anything on wonder woman though, and her shoulder sheered off at the peg. Sooooo if you get ahead of it you're probably good, but people who don't know what's up are in for a bad time.

>>7597849
This just singlehandedly turned me off buying it. I actually like that height and paint, but jesus, that bend is almost nothing. How are the shoulder pylons attatched? That's something I always hated about the RD and wanted someone to do better.
>>

I thought Mafex was good now.
>>
>>7598423
Sounds like you will change your mind stupidly fast when you'll have it in hands.
>>
>>7598476
There's a balljoint out of the shoulder area of the torso that a small intermediary joint piece that's molded as part of the torso plugs into, then the shoulder pylon plugs into that with another balljoint. It's a fairly safe, moveable system that ensures you'll pop a balljoint rather than break something. They're not directly attached to the arms at all.
>>
>>7598480
Honestly it really seems to be hit and miss on which releases are good and which aren't. Although they're tending to shift towards more good releases than not.

>How are the shoulder pylons attatched? That's something I always hated about the RD and wanted someone to do better.

This is the set-up:
The shoulder has a ball joint sticking out of the top.
a little triangle thing pegs into that.
Pylon pegs into the triangle thing.

It is pretty much the same set up as RD except in the RD the triangle thing seems to be permanently attached.

But yeah, the Mafex pylons have been popping off a lot more for me then the RD do (which doesn't happen to much on my RD Evas).

>>
>>7602953
Yeah this just looks great. It's an autobuy for me since I'm hoping it will have close to Spidey articulation too.
>Comic Spidey sold out.
>ML figures that spike in price are usually the ones that are loyal to the comic or the series (Jim Lee designs).
Why does Revo keep on insisting on stylized versions? Why does Figma only go for fotm (Injustice, Ninja Batman)? What I don't get is why other companies don't make accurate designs. I actually bought the aforementioned above while hoping someone will eventually make the iconic designs. I'm really really glad Mafex decided to make some money and take that market.
>>
>>7602937
Damn, guess I'm gonna have to start collecting another line now. I'm excited to see how this goes.

Between X Men, Avengers, and now possibly Justice League (and mafex's year long pre-order lead time) how many years will it take Mafex to release enough figures to get a mostly complete core team going?

Too bad these figure are $90 a pop, when they should be near $75ish.
>>
>>7602959
Why does Revo keep on insisting on stylized versions?
Because that has always been their thing--Yamaguchi's stylization and reimaginings have always sort of driven the line. Everyone knows you don't buy Revoltechs for accuracy, you buy them for hyper-dynamic proportions and posing ability. I mean, Ingrams never posed like this in the source material--which is why I'm so glad Yamaguchi exists. He gives us an interesting alternate take while everyone else races to have the most accurate figure.

Why does Figma only go for fotm (Injustice, Ninja Batman)?
Because Figma DOES fotm. That's been their schtick for a long time and it's not gonna change now. They typically chase what's popular, what's gonna make money. Why else do you think they largely just make moeblobs while ignoring legendary older anime?
>>
>>7602971
Shit, forgot to greentext. Whatever. You get it.
>>
>>7602937
So minor complaint. The batarangs. Were they white in the Hush comic? Because I hate that. I want black batarangs.
>>
>>7602970
Yeah that's my one gripe about them. They're usually more expensive than other brands. I have no idea how long it's gonna take them but since I like to mix and match I can form a complete team from various lines. Would be great if Mafex makes more though.

>>7602971
>>7602976
I wish Revo would go accurate though. Accuracy plus hyper posing would make them a lot more money than they're making now. It will still be the same hyper posable figure just with a more accurate and iconic design. Although at least them not being accurate allows me to justify getting Mafex versions of Wolvy, Batman, and Venom even though I already have Revos of those.

You're right about the Figma but with the size of their company, I think they can afford to add a comic accurate line. I'm guessing the only reason they don't is because the license is too expensive and they don't think it will make a lot of money. It would also be terrific if they made classic anime Figmas too but I guess what they have sells enough for them to even try branching out.

>>7602978
Not sure anon but I'm hoping that's just some lighting thing and they're actually black. The pic is kinda crappy and everything.

I collect MLs and I think the Fortnite articulation, based on reviews anyway, is a huge step up at least. I'm really reluctant to start another scale though. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Although they would be good for bigger characters like Darkseid, Mongol or Doomsday as those might fit. I'm really hoping for a Marvel Legends type of 6" line for DC so we can get a lot of characters with the main ones supplemented by Revo or Mafex. Hope that happens someday.

I'm talking about the scale and the amount of products put out anon. No reason why whoever ends up making this can't improve the articulation. Even if McFarlane articulation is better, that scale will still keep a lot of buyers away from the line. An ML type for DC would actually be good too since it creates a competitor for MLs which would force them to improve. The technology is there. The only reason Hasbro doesn't improve is because they have no reason to. You can't get the less famous characters from imports so you have no choice but to buy theirs even if they're mostly only good for standing poses and would look terrible when you turn them to the side because of that waist swivel.
>>

You sort of see that with Jazwares 6" Fortnite, I fear it it kind of killed the hype for the McFarlane line.

Do you know who has the DC 6" license? I've seen the Jazwares one but people say that McFarlane is better and Jaz has bad QC or something? I don't collect Fortnite but that McFarlane review I watched with the pink female bear was really good that I would have bought it if it was 6".

Imagine it anon. By the time you have this a comic accurate Superman would already be announced as well. Best Timeline.
>>
>>7603037
Literally the first thing I thought was "this means we can finally get a decent Superman".
>>
>>7603053
Im hoping that's what this means too anon. If you make a DC line you can't skip Supes.

>Do you know who has the DC 6" license?
Not exactly, I know Spinmaster got the (kids) boys action figure license.

>I've seen the Jazwares one but people say that McFarlane is better and Jaz has bad QC or something?
From what I heard is vice versa, few McFarlane figures suffers from QC issues, but it's not NECA level of epidemic.

Not really, the 4" inch got second wave.

I'm not a huge fan of Jim Lee but if they're going to base their DC figures on his art, that's cool with me

>Why does Revo keep on insisting on stylized versions?
Because that's always been Yamaguchi's thing, even before they got western comic licenses. I'm honestly fine with it, I just wish they weren't seemingly limited to mostly modern era costumes. I love Yamaguchi's take on Cap, for instance, but I wish it was his classic costume.

I was this close to buying a custom made 6in scale Hush suit from a customizer on Instagram, then I saw this.

I'm okay with a wait as long as it turns out good. Mezco's TDKR Batman has been my favorite figure for a while so I'm excited for another decent Batman figure that's directly based on an artist's style
>>
>>7602937
Glad I didn't fall for the Mezco cloth meme.

Finally, i was getting worried already. Just paid for it.
>>7602937
Damn, i guess i know what i'll be pre-ordering in 2020.
Now, iff they ever decide to release Keaton Batman (1992 less organic design), i'll be forever grateful.
>>
>>7602937
I expect they'll do a DKR Batman eventually. I hope they also make Year One.
>>
>>7603302
I guess it was because of the material they used.

Which is not a thing at all. Especially in the last few years. Mcfarlane stuff breaks way, way, way more.

If they do make comic Batman variants, which would honestly be a license to print money and I couldn't blame them if they did, hopefully it's not until we get a decent selection of other characters. Like the rest of the league, some varied villains, and maybe some of the Batfam at least.

I think they were silver in Hush. Both the pics floating around look like phone pics of Hobby Mag ads. I’m already thinking of painting a dark metallic gun metal colour.

Yep, I'm thinkin' this is the definitive Batman.
>>

100%. But the only competition is the Revo anyway.

The vast majority of DC figures fucking blow because DC Collectibles sucks & Mattel sucks even more than that.

It’s not like Marvel where Hasbro’s stuff is passable for the price.
