Yea, anyway... Block Tech isn't exactly known for quality stuff, but this set must take the cake for silliness. Flimsy, simple design, hilariously misnamed ("space cruiser", really?), I wondered how the liquidation centre was going to move their overstock. And yet, ever since getting mine I've been meaning to build a small army of these out of real Legos just for kicks.

so my fake LotR minifigures arrived, they are from 2 different sellers

while my Lepin minifigs that came with the set are solid 4.5, these are 3.5 and 3 max. Which was a bummer, because I paid like 0.80 for each.

Worst are the Uruks, because the dark grey of their armor is completely different from the official LEGO colour, their swords are black (wtf) and the helmets are so badly made that once you put them on, you cannot put them off (I literally had to force them down).

The print is ok on all of the minifigs, except for Eowyn (custom chink prints), her face looks really weird. Probably gonna switch it with another Lego pink face I have.

Rohan archers are ok, but I don't get why they got those funny composite bows.

Eomer is bretty good, but his pink face has a slightly different shade from Lepin pink and the print on his shield has small scratches.

I definitely don't recomment Uruks from this seller, if you wan't them to pair with other minifigs. The rest is passable, not sure if you can get better, because you can't buy just minifigures from Lepin, as far as I know.

stores: Eowyn (3.5/5) +Archers (3.5/5) https://www.aliexpress.com/store/4438025

Uruks (2/5) +Eomers (3/5)

Here's a silly question, but are aqua shooter anime girls compatible with lego?
I know nothing about them other that they are qt.
>>
>>7556141
>Worst are the Uruks, because the dark grey of their armor is completely different from the official LEGO colour,

Personally i would not mind that.

I noticed that with the helmets on some knights i bought too. Some sit extremely tight and its next to impossible to remove them. Others are really loose though.
>>
>>7557485
yeah it is true that Xinh (code XH-xxx) minifigures are probably the best quality while Pogo (PG-xxx) quality differs piece from piece. The plastic is also worse.

The rest of the brands on aliexpress are most likely worse and should be used only as the last resort

Finally got around to building that Dragon Blok (aka Wange) pirate ship I've had sitting around a while. This is going to be a bit lengthy, but there's a lot to talk about, much of it not so great, unfortunately.

We'll start with what's good, I suppose. It's a pretty nice looking ship, with lots of neat little details and decorations. I'm a fan of unusual minifigs and the blockhead skeleton is one of my favorite parts of the set. It was originally $60 Cdn which was already decent for a set this size, but I scored it during a half-off sale for $30, even better. It's the largest sailing ship set I've had to date, which has somewhat endeared it to me despite all the mean things I'm going to say next, heh.

So yeah, the nitpicking. First off I'll mention the clutch; it's roughly comparable to earlier Enlighten, who admittedly have stepped up their game of late but I have several of their older sets attesting clutch issues, which is what this ship reminds me of. The ship's clutch is somewhat better in general than those sets, but it becomes an issue in areas of the build that would already be vulnerable with real Lego parts. The masts in particular are prone to collapse, a combination of weak clutch and flawed design (the build calls for technic axles within the round bricks to aid in stability, but they only provide small axles which leaves weak points, ended up replacing a couple with longer Lego ones). The skeletal ship's lantern at the stern is another example of clutch issue, in the collage you can see how it sags slightly as the hinge piece isn't strong enough to hold it level. Overall the clutch issue is the biggest one for me, the rest to be listed shortly are relatively minor, though they all add up.

Moving on to the lesser issues. The one that bothers me most out of these is that the cannons were not provided with springs, despite being of the firing design (and the box art showing them in action). I'm not sure how to go about finding springs for them either, perhaps from an oversized ballpoint pen but I've not found any suitable so far. The cannons weren't wheeled either, but I have the parts to correct this at least.

While the ship came with a significant pile of extra pieces (including wheel parts for the ship itself, something I opted not to install), there were some notable absences, confirmed by the official parts inventory in the instructions booklet. As a result, the ship is without one small lantern and one of the skeletons on the big ship's lantern is missing an arm. Speaking of skeletons, this is more of an observed oddity than a nitpick but the skulls used in the decoration of the ship's stern are all round, while the minifig skeleton included has a square one. The box art also shows the decorative skulls as square, so no idea what happened there. Somewhat related, they definitely goofed with the pirate rag hats. While all the other headgear in the setwere properly upsized and adapted for squares, the rag hats were not (again the box art shows to the contrary), thus two of my crew must go bareheaded.

There's also other things to mention, such as marks on the hull pieces due to cheap molding processes, scratches on one of the glass windows for the stern, the captain's left arm beg breaking while being inserted and requiring that it be glued in place... But yeah, for 30 bucks I'm reasonably content with what I got; admittedly, I might've been less charitable if I'd had to pay full price. I'm tempted now to order up a ship or two on Ali and get a fleet going, but space and financial considerations are keeping that in check for the time being, heh.

Fun blockheads aside, Wange definitely needs to step up their clutch and QC game.

Sorta. They have a vaguely similar articulation setup to Mega Construx/Bloks figures but are about 2cm taller (they are same size as Desktop army). The neck joints are also similar in size so you could put an Aqua girls head on a standard Mega bloks figure.

You will be able to fit Aqua shooter girls into larger klocki builds ie builds scaled closer to Mega bloks figures (which many ppbg sets such as the Kazi Abrams, based godtier Cobi, Winner blocks military series, Panlos tanks and Xingbao sets are).

Overall my Mega bloks figures provide the bridge between klocki and non Lego toys so I love incorporating Aqua Shooters into my klocki world as aliens or supersoldiers.

The build was easy and the blocks are great quality. Same as with the halftrack in the background, the scratches etc are all stickers, but they add alot to the vehicle i think.

I need help.
I've digging through my childhood LEGOs and shit, and found a kit I couldn't identify.
Its clearly not LEGO, pins have no logo on them.

Its a multi-section ship, floating, IIRC it was supposed to be kinda a cruise ship, its had weird long window blocks. Interestingly, it has kind of keel blocks to attach to the bottom of this ship, which are quite heavy and are apparently intended to keep the ship upright in water. The hull is light blue, deck, weights and windows are white, and there's a number of pink blocks to make walls and shit.

Anyone has any ideas who made it?

New liquidation centre haul inbound: dinosawrs, sea critters and a steampunk dog. All three brands are new to me; there were a few other Steam Age sets but they're not really my thing, I got one to try out the brand (the bowler hat dude is kinda cool too).

Oops *four brands. I also got this ship, Jie Star seems to have a thousand variants of this style vessel (and I must have them all...)
>>
>>7601993
$15 seems like alot for that, don't get me wrong, I like the set, just think it is expensive. What is the regular price?>>7601993
>>
Why do so few city builders include lights?
>>
>>7602298
Bear in mind these are Canadian prices, in the US it'd be more like 10 or 11. Don't know what they'd normally retail for, probably about the same as I've seen similar sets on Ali for that price.

Lights are not Lego and therefore heresy.

Jie star is known to be practically equal to Lego quality so it really isnt bad afterall (aside from tbe very basic set designs)

Will do. If it impresses me enough I might even go back for more, the largest set they had was a shark mech thing which I passed on more for the price at the time ($24 Cdn) cuz I was buying so much other stuff already.

>>7604174
>practically equal
In recent times, yes. Pic related was the first Jie Star set I ever got, a few years ago and it had some clutch issues, particularly with the ship in some places. All the sets I've picked up this year have shown marked improvement for sure. My source for these has that original set again as well, I'm half-tempted to buy another and see if it's a reissue with better quality bricks, or just old stock.

After I build this one >>7601993 I'll have three ships of that general design, will have to take a "family" photo at some point heh. Think there's at least one Enlighten version floating around Ali as well...
>>
>>7604174

Here's the rest of the sets I've picked up, had these way back during the winter and kept forgetting. I got all the furniture sets to check out the designs, which unsurprisingly were all stickers, but were mostly pretty nice. I really like the vines patterns on the swing set, but was disappointed that the computer screen differed from the box design, and the colored pattern for the parasol was too small and a pain to apply. The robot guys are rather fragile owing to inferior clutch, but they're charming.

Thats really cheap, and if the quality is similar to their military vehicles (i'm the guy with the halftrack and the 8-wheel-armored car) then this should be a no-brainer if you are into police sets
That big plane looks really cool too.
>>
>>7608932
I have some older sets from them, like the big Osprey with artillery piece, and quality is decent. Not quite Lego, but close enough.
>>
>>7610681
I've got the Sembo halftrack too. It's good quality, but some of the tread pieces were missing so I had to make the tread so tight that its pretty much unrollable
I'm not really a fan of police stuff but they make for really cool bases, but I'm worried about missing a jailbar piece or a window or something important

Got really busy over the last week, but here's the Steam Dog in all his glory. I ended up really liking the set, enough that I went back and got that Steam Shark Plane they also had. The clutch is good, hovering around Lego level of quality. The designs on the pieces are stickers, but I was ok with that, they fit really well which can be a hit or miss area with Chinese legos. Not too likely to happen. Chinks would rather give you extra pieces than risk missing pieces.

If you still miss pieces, dont confirm order no matter what you do, hassle the fuck out of the seller and cross your fingers.
>>
>>7631778
I usually inform about missing pieces at the store I’m about to buy from. It’s always good to know before you order if sellers send missing pieces. There are that do, but to be certain you should ask beforehand.

I have it and got half chinked because I didn't declare all my missing pieces upfront. So they paid for the 1st one and then I had to eat the cost of the others down the line.

So what you do when you're missing a piece, is keep building as far as you can go and note down the subsequent missing pieces. Then hopefully you get to the end of the instructions with a list of what you need.

What is the code for the Breakout Beast Charcolt?
>>
Hello? Can anyone answer my question?
>>
>>7608744

I recently started picking up the MotU and and a few side characters here and there like Kratos and Hellboy.

But it seems like it shelf warms a lot.

96% of the stuff is Halo whenever I look. And usually just rando star trek or aliens guys the rest.

Is this stuff actually selling or am I only going to find it online second and second hand?

Side note: I'm mostly using these guys for RPG characters, does anyone knock off the Destiny line? Cuz I could use some spell effects.

What is the code number for the breakout beast Charcolt?
>>
>>7657451
The state will have to seize your blocks temporarily until there are enough produced for everyone. Don't worry, they're free. You only need to cover the production and shipping costs. Don't forget to sign up for the waiting list. Expected wait time is 3 years per kit. No more than 2 kit orders per citizen at any one time. Thank you for your contribution comrade!

I just found these old as shit Atco sets in an actual brick and mortar store. I don't ordinarily buy lego, much less bootleg building block sets, but these caught my eye because the packaging design looked particularly old fashioned so they ended up standing out on the shelf, and on a closer look the copyright date on these is 1988 and now I'm wondering if these are really 30+ year old sets, because they look brand new, unlike a lot of the other old toys I've come across have some degree of wear on the packaging due to having been shifted around quite a bit, probably back and forth between storage and shelf over the years, and these would be the oldest toys I've found sold in stores yet.

Probably not original 1980's stock because those boxes look way too good for that age. Even if they were kept in conditions beyond reasonably good for bootleg toys it would still have something to show its age even if it's just moisture discoloring the box or the corners getting miffed. I seriously doubt these were kept sealed in an air conditioned storage unit for roughly three decades before being unearthed. I would presume it's a modern production that they never bothered to update because bootleggers aren't known for trying. Still though, cool find. I like the '80s era Lego set aesthetic

They might be original. I occasionally find old products that got lost behind a shelf and were kept preserved from sunlight and moisture.

I once found a comic book from the 1970s in mint condition that had fallen behind the rack of comics at a drugstore thirty years earlier.

Speaking of Cobi, I bought one of the fake Cobi sets for half off on aliexpress. Its not a full substitute for Cobi but I am still really impressed with quality; it fits together like Kazi but is much harder and tougher plastic. The finish is also spotless; just like real Cobi.

The minifigs have better printing than Lego at this point but if the plastic of the bricks were solid; the minis are made of some kind of oddly light plastic. Still abit above average as far as pbbg minis go.

I forgot to take pictures of finished tank before taking apart again for moc freebuilding. The bootleg thin treads are sort of fragile, so Im glad they came with many spares. Doesnt roll on smooth surfaces but literally no thin linked track system has done so for me.

As for why I took it apart; its a typical Cobi design that left zero room for mega bloks drivers. Stay tuned for some wacky Nazi tank moc anons.
>>
In the meantime, I built this panzer light tank out of the sluban nashorn/panzer 4 set. I somehow managed to make a tiny fully rotating turret with closing hatch fit a figure in it. Im always happy when I can repurpose a set thats too small for mega bloks scale into something that fits nicely.

Im not even that interested in WW2 equipment but buying those Mega Bloks Nazis has increasingly escalated my desire to equip them well.

Id happily buy the massive Cobi Tiger II but should I also get a bootleg Cobi Panther? I am trying to avoid frivolous spending but 40 usd for it is pretty tempting.

Bought the same 38t tank as a gift for my girlfriend. Glad to hear its good quality.

Im back. Moced the bootlego Cobi Panzer 38 to fit Mega bloks figures. Chassis is somewhat inspired by Sweden (yes) tanks. Turret isnt perfect but this will do for now.

Thank you!

Enlighten Combat Zones receiving a new wave. For anybody keeping track, this is the third consecutive series to receive the bighead treatment.
>>
Was just about to post about it too. Pic related is the tank set, link below goes to the new series. I think they look pretty cool and even tho I’m not a fan of the big heads, I give them credit for trying to make these sets suitable/legal (even by changing patented bricks like Xingbao does)

I've been getting into collecting some of the sets lately. i just ordered the ship in a bottle and also found out about cobi. a polish company mostly putting out historical tanks and planes and stuff. pretty cool company. but man I sure do miss those fucking forestmen sets. reminded me so much of forest bandits/rhodocks from mount and blade

That tank is like an awkward looking version of the xingbao desert tank
>>
>>7708551
Yea its supposed to be the same type of tank I think. This set will probably be a lot cheaper than the xingbao version. I like it still
>>
>>7708761
>a lot cheaper
Youre right. That alone justifies its existence. The minis do interest me just for being so different. Do you have in hand pics of them? How do they scale next to lego? Also wondering how heads are connected.
>>
>>7708227
there is little these companies can do about the minifig situation, and these are among the nicest looking alternatives.

What i don't understand, if thats Enlighten, why is the brand on the tank box different?
>>
>>7708875
check this video from minute 3:35 onwards.
Its in german, but at that timestamp he builds the bighead-minifigs of that set

Just in case you don't want to watch it: the minifigs are compatible with lego-sized heads.

Yeah, these were the best medieval sets they ever made.. (probably spoken through pink nostalgia glasses as i had these as a child).

You can find some of the oldschool knight/medieval minifigs on Aliexpress actually.
I bought a small force of the black falcon knights from your pics a while ago.

And i forgot the pic..

Quality of these is "only" good. The prints are 10/10 but one out of 10 parts (arms, legs, heads) is rather loose. Not terrible and no problem when they just sit on my shelf, but it would have bothered me as a child when i actually played alot with Lego knights (used them for D&D among other things).
One other thing thats a bit sad is the equipment they come with: I had to buy a couple of these classic black helmets with noseguard (and still don't have enough as you can see in the pic) and i also need more "standard" weapons. The newer medieval things are way to fancy.
And last but not least, not all items with that classic black falcon logo are actually "original" i.e. existed back then: the larger shields for example and some of the upper bodies are new. But that does not bother me at all.

Overall i'm extremely happy that i found these and over time i'll expand and properly equip that little army for sure.
>>
>>7709074
Thanks, didnt expect them to be that big honestly.
Theyre reasonably animeish which is a nice touch.

Qman is the rebranded name of Enlighten.
>>
Are lego men the best for stop animation or is it just me?
>>
>>7709862
I see. Thanks

Why did they went for such a strange name instead of the more catchy "Enlighten"?
>>
>>7710654
Lego men don't need stands to balance but they are basically 5poa, requiring techniques to create illusion of large movement range.
Mega Construx figures on the other hand...

Anyone know if these are online in pdf form at all? https://otakurepublic.com/product/tag_page.html?tags=283751&ref=product_page&type=desc_link_author

I want that armored Truck really badly now. Link to it?
Do they got the Charger from Speed champs by itself? I wanna make a Mad Max Interceptor really bad.
>>
>>7715942
Here's the link to where I got the truck from. There's another version which has a lab trailer instead of a dumb trailer, but that's not for sale on this one.

I don't think I've seen Sembo release the Charger. They used to release copies of lego sets a while ago, but now they mostly do their own stuff.

After having a bit of a look, I've found this. I don't know if the Challenger they have here is Sembo.

Those straps I thought were belts that didnt fit torsos are actually gun straps? Im fucking dumb. Thanks for figuring this out, will outfit some guns with strap now.

The lack of interior is a Cobi curse. Its nice that the chink designers (lazy bootleggers) at least put in the effort to make a driving compartment.
