DC General thread because the other one fell off the board.

So the Super Lex wave of the DC Multiverse line is finally hitting shelves. I know because my local Target has got three TEH REY figures on the shelves and nobody else. Looks like the local scalper is up to his usual tricks. But two can play at that game! I ordered Wonder Woman online at MSRP with free shipping. Not a bad deal and the seller shipped her out super fast.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited for this wave. There's only four figures to buy and complete the BAF, Super Lex. All the figures in this wave look great too. So let's get started by opening up Wonder Woman and-

Wait a second. Something's not right...

Thankfully, the seller was good on exchanges and shipped a new Wondy to me. Granted, I had to ship ol' lefty back and spend $5 doing so, but it's the principal of the thing.

A week passes and I get my fixed Wonder Woman. I checked her over. She's great! Put her on the desk, go out to do some yard work, come back in, and...

Discover that Wonder Woman's upper torso skin has gotten several shades darker in the couple hours I was gone. WTF?

The lower thighs are slightly darker too, but it's the torso that's really noticeable. From a warm orange fleshtone to cold clay tan. It's almost like Wondy is wearing an upper body stocking. Really off-putting. I've seen some youtube reviewers commenting that the torso paint is slighly off color, but their Wondys are nowhere near as off color as mine.

What happened? It's been really hot the past few days and the mail package was out there for a couple of hours before I got home. Was the paint on the toso affected by the heat? Did the shock of going inside an air condition house affect the plastic or paint?

Here's a line up of all the other Wondy figures I have in contrast. She's certainly better than the old DCU Wondy as far as articulation and sculpt go.

And that ends my tale of my misadventure with DC Multiverse Wonder Woman. Let this be a lesson to you to buy from the store whenever you can. I guess my search for a good Wonder Woman that's not fundamentally flawed or a rape prices will continue on.

If you anons have your own Multiverse Wondy, please post a pic of her. It would be helpful to see if yours is going through the same discoloration as mine is doing.

Yes, because they bought them online, moron. Matty's distribution of the DC Multiverse to brick n' motar stores has been horrendously shitty. Some places have never even seen the Clayface wave, let alone the Lobo or Lex waves. It doesn't help that that the Aquaman & Shazam waves were prioritized getting to store shelves over the regular comic waves. And let's not forget the huge bomb that was the Doomsday wave. My local Wal-Mart is still sitting on a shelf full of fem-robins that they can't get rid of for $3.

And before you ask why don't they just buy online, read OP's story, dumbass.

Shit, I can even tell you when I bought one: the night the new Broly movie was showing in theaters in January. I walked out of the movie and across the street to Target and bought Gaslight Batman. Sorry I don't keep 5 month old receipts just to provide proof of purchase to some fag on the internet later. That was after months of seeing nothing but Ray and Vixen.

>>
>>7554128
personally, I don't mind 7 inch figures but ML figures have a pretty great standard when it comes to that. it also means effectively more space when the figures are smaller. they totally fucked up with the Essentials line though because the proportions are way off and the figures look even bigger because of that. horrible shit right there

My Target had two Wonder Woman and Batman but goddamn the quality is utter shit. Sloppy paint on Bats and Diana's chest piece is a completely different duller color than her arms.

I'm excited for Todd taking over for two reasons. He gives the fans what they want and there won't be any distribution issues with him.

Okay. I have no idea where DCC stands in regards to Matty. Always thought they were just a subsect of Matty.
>>
>>7572832
From the sounds of it, McFarlane replaced DCC as the collector/direct market toy producer.

Also, if you didn't know, DC had a couple of layoffs and WB is restructuring the company so what DCC (was part of DC but is now part of WB) is doing now seems to be a bit of a mystery: https://www.bleedingcool.com/2019/01/23/dc-comics-restructuring/
Could be the same shit that happened with Toy Biz. They were merged into into the licensing section of Marvel, where they do approvals for licensing and other shit.

As for Mattel, they recently reupped the license, but not for action figures
>it has extended its global licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and will continue to be the toy licensee for DC in the girls, preschool, vehicles, games and novelty toy categories.
https://news.mattel.com/news/mattel-extends-global-licensing-partnership-with-warner-bros-consumer-products-for-dc

Woah, where did you get all these Wonderwoman collectibles? Were you collecting them all from the previous years? Would be good to have Wonderman as a collectible in this augmented reality project called Ecomi. I'll love to own her atleast digitally.

Seconding Bombshells Ivy. She's already sculpted in her undies for maximum lewds and has the articulation to pull off just about any pose your dirty mind can think of. She's also pretty cheap too at under $30 at most places.
>>
I've never gotten any multiverse figure, but just pre-ordered the whole wave that's coming up, just because I desperately want a good Killer Croc figure, and he's the BAF.

Figure I'll sell all the figures other than Croc, Red Hood, and maaaybe Alfred

What am I in for?

Wonder what Croc is gonna look like since tons of artists draw him differently. Hoping for a look inspired by his villain month issue..

geez, i didn't think it was possible for them to look worse than 4H's DCUC.

Speaking of which, how come 4H is no longer deoing the sculpts for Mattel?
>>
>>7575786
These are all 4H.
>>
>>7575725

Wow. Starfire looks horrible. The prototype looked so good but this is just pathetic.
>>
>>7575806
Parts are, but they've been using other sculptors for quite some time now.
>>
>>7575806
Stewart, Starfire, and Beast Boy look too cartoony and not buff enough to look like 4H's stuff.
4H's sculpts are noticeably always 30 year old body builder looking.

I think I'll just get the Figma Ninja Bats. Who would have thought that an import toy would be cheaper and easier to acquire than a figure from the biggest western toy maker?
>>
>>7576303
Just buy the Figuarts then.
>>
>>7576303
The figuarts is cheaper but more sturdy from what I've seen. The only advantage to the figma is a cloth cape.
>>

Figma, Figuarts, does it matter? Either one is better, cheaper, and easier to get than the Mattel one will be. That's the issue here.

Me too. She doesn't look worse so much as she looks different. I think she'll be hell to find though, like Jessica Cruz was.

Twilight Batman and Phoenix Joker figures are probably a given, but I can’t be the only one wanting Figuarts and/or MAFEX to make:

>Linda Carter Wonder Woman
>Keaton Batman (89 AND Returns)
>West Batman & Ward Robin
>Fucking Christopher Reeves Supes

So why hasn’t it happened?

>>
>>7577009
I really hope Mezco does '66 Batman and Robin. The cloth gimmick would be perfect for them.

Don't really buy dc figs but I wanted to ask, what are the best batman and superman figures. Was looking at the essentials line but I'm not sure whether to get those or something else. Just want something akin to marvel legends and is decently articulated
>>
>>7586051
batman figs ranked:
>mafex
great articulation and detail, only movie figs. expensive imports
>mezco
good articulation, great detail, cloth material (its better than it looks), expensive
>figuarts
expensive imports. good articulation but I like the mafex paint better
>revoltech
expensive import. the one batman fig has a huge ugly cape, but by far best articulation
>dc collectibles
various statuesque figures, great to display with good detail. greg capullo batman is ok, but the hip articulation is almost nothing
>dc icons
blue batman is short (black is ok height) and the articulation isnt quite as good as it looks, but in line with marvel legends
>dc essentials
articulation and plastic is wonky. not as good as it looks in picture
>dc universe classics
old school, too expensive, outdated articulation

best value is mafex justice league batman, figuarts dark knight rises, or mezco sovereign knight or ascending knight. The domestic budget batman figures are either low articulation or slight downgrade to marvel legends. I like DC icons for a starter batman, but dc essentials is still ok for like $20

for superman, the best deal by far is the dc collectibles film BvS superman for $40ish. otherwise, figures follow the description above, but avoid mafex dawn of justice superman.
>>
>>7586051

>>7564218

mafex on the far right and left, figuarts is the 2nd and 3rd from the right
>>
>>7584842

What's everyone's thoughts on the Batman Missions line? I keep seeing them in the store off and on, and the more I look at them and see of them, the more interesting they seem. They have good sculpts, a decent amount of articulation, and a good number of characters, along with a Batmobile and Batcycle, and in general just look like a fun line. I saw the Bane figure in Target a few days ago and was very tempted to buy him, and them happened when I saw the Harley Quinn a few times.
