Sovereign Knight figure just made it to some youtubers. Is anybody going to pick up that phone? Because I fucking called it; the lines are still on the suit.Still waiting on an assload of figures to be released
>>7551873Why wouldn't the lines be on the suit? They look good and give it detail.
>>7551873The lines were never removed. They just lightened them and honestly it looks a million times better.
>>7551873Has the blue and grey Adam's style version come out yet? That's the one I want to check out.
Did everyone order from mezco? I've never had a mezco from bbts take this long to release.
>>7551890Okay Mezco employee
>>7551873They're barely noticeable and it looked way better when they were much more pronounced. The back of the box even shows the old product photos that had the darker lines.
>>7552016I bought mine on eBay and it arrived yesterday. BBTS just takes forever to get stuff in sometimes.
>>7551873I realized that I prefer the Ascending Knight's smoother headsculpt overall so I ended up cancelling mine.
>>7552016Fuck BBTS. They've been taking forever to get stock in. I bought mine from eBay in Monday and it'll be here today.
The cloth looks bad. how badly does it hinder articulation?
>>7551890>>7551894They are basically invisible in normal lighting now and the dominant pattern is the sewer grate bumps. Also shit ab-crunch.
I can't decide if I want the Sovereign or Ascending. Space dictates I only get one for now.
Wouldn't these figures be much better without the fabric suits? They look so out of place and it screws up the articulation. What's the appeal or benefit to the fabric suits?
>>7552560But this way they can charge $80 - $100 for mediocre toys because the cloth makes it a "premium adult collectible"
>>7552560It frustrates me in a way. Their sculpts and even articulation at this point tend to be good enough that the fabric aesthetic isn't all that useful of a crutch even when they execute it well. It's not even necessary to distinguish them so much given it's not as if better DC figures are coming out from anyone else.
>>7552560>much better without the fabric suitsNot at all. The cloth IS the draw. That's why people like this line.
hi, i remember hearing that these guys were inaccurate, how so? planning on getting them since they seem to be like the only good GB figures out there right now, plus that slimer is god tier.
>>7552798I think people have been saying the suits are kind of loose and the Venkman sculpt is a bit soft but other than that they're good
>>7552560I like the cloth. Sometimes it doesn't look as good as it would without it but generally I enjoy the gimmick. I'm biased though, I loved my dad's old MEGO figures as a kid.>>7552798I can't remember the exact details but the eye color is wrong on one of them
Anybody else jump in on this?
>>7552902No wired cape no buy
>>7552905It’s hemmed, and in the other pics is pretty obviously wired. Not sure why they didn’t mention it in the product details.
>>7552911Neat, I hadn't bothered to look at any of the other product photos. If anything it seemsl ike there is too little cape to pose dramatically with the wire
>>7552913Hadn’t really thought of that. I’ve got their Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, and Black Adam. If Magneto’s cape is somewhere between Cap’s and Stranges’ it should be fine. Magneto doesn’t really need a big billowing Batman-style cape.
>>7552902>>7552911No pussy no buy
>>7553026>dat camel toe
>>7553026I had to comment on his hefty moose knuckle
First impressions right out of the box are great. I really like this guy. He's awesome so far. He looks so much better without the lines imo. I really dig his proportions too.
Man and I really liked Ascending Knight when he came out but Soverign is just so much better.
Bruce Wayne head comparison. Ascending Knights head is so bad lol.
>>7553296>>7553307Man, I really wish they got rid of the kneepads since they went full vanilla gray on it anyway.
>>7553345I can agree but they aren't bad. I need to get a pair of trunks for him. I wonder if GPSLot has a pair.
>>7553329Dafuq? Since when was an unmasked head included?
>>7553383It wasn't included originally but I guess they decided to throw it in since it comes with the Onyx and PX variants. It's shitty that the Netflix Daredevil figures are the same price as this despite coming with much less
Do you guys think mezco is going to make any endgame figures? Their ragnarok thor was so good.
>>7553402Hopefully not, leave the MCU shit to the imports
>>7553402I'm still baffled that they never made IW Thanos. Their style oh-so perfectly fits his look.
>>7553402Give it a year or two. They still don't have all their Thor: Ragnarok figures out.
>>7553405Exactly! The SHF thanos figures have lame paint apps and their molded colors are too saturated.
>>7553402Movie collectors are fickle and just want the latest looks. The exception is Iron Man collectors who will drop hundreds on a hot Toy of some random armor from IM3 some concept artist bullshit together and appears for 3 seconds on screen.
>>7553408What other rag figures are they working on?
>>7553415Hela was supposed to be out a few months ago but I believe she's scheduled for Summer now.
>>7553296Can he bend forward at all?
>>7553457A little. Not great but not bad either.
I haven't checked in on this line in a while, how are the horror figures? I have the green Frankenstein's monster and really love it, wondering if Jason and Michael turned out alright.
>>7553296looks like a squirrel with these teeth
>>7553592If you liked their Frankenstein, you'll probably love Jason and Michael.
>>7553513In d-amazing's video the crunch didnt do shit.
>>7552798The heads are terrible. For some reason the only good one, and by a long distance, is Zeddemore. The others look like badly-sculpted, badly-painted versions of their stunt doubles.
>>7553307>Soverign is just so much better. How so?
>>7554293I personally like just everything about it more. Granted what I'm about to gush about is just my opinion, so take it for what you will. Where to start? The outfit for one on Sovereign is just so much better. It fits better and without any vinyl like Ascending has it doesn't hamper articulation. With the vinyl stuff I'm a little more wary of pushing the figure to it's limits. Not the case here. The cape is also made of a lighter material and sits a lot better than Ascending knights. The proportions are just better. Honestly Sovereign has my ideal Batman proportions. Ascending was too lanky in order to illustrate a younger Bruce Wayne. Soverign is just bulky enough. He also has better articulation with boot and glove cuts when Ascending is lacking those. Accessories are also much more plentiful. The three extra heads are top tier and the unsolicited Bruce Wayne head is the same sculpt as the younger Ascending head but the paint is just SOOO much better around the eyes. The outline on the younger heads eyes bugs me. Plus day battle damaged head is good tier. I have quite a few Mezco figures and I honestly didn't think they were going to top their Punisher or Popeye but I think Sovereign Knight may be one of their best figures. It's funny because I almost cancelled my pre order like 3 times. I'm so glad I didn't.
>>7554316I'm not a big fan of the texture of the fabric on the default Sovereign Knight. The blue Sovereign Knight looks better on that front, but I worry about that much vinyl being prone to peeling. I still might get one of the Sovereigns or Ascending at some point.
>>7554451It looks a lot better in hand. The texture seems to get exaggerated a tad at super close up macro images.
>>7554316He looks nice as a general modern Batman, but I might just stick with Ascending Knight since I prefer the First Appearance/Year One vibes it's giving.
>>7552798The only real bummer for me is how soft the Venkman likeness is (though considering how off EVERY Bill Murray-related toy I've seen is, I'm assuming that might be more of a likeness rights thing than a bad sculpting issue) and how out-of-scale huge the jumpsuit zippers are, but I'm otherwise completely happy with this set (and I'm usually someone who HATES soft goods stuff on 1:12 scale figures).
>>7552902They took out heads they showed it having in the earlier sell sheet. Down from 4 to 2.
>>7554657That's pretty shitty.
>>7554745We can all agree having more accesories in a release its a good thing and taking out accesories it's a bad thing
>>7554773Yeah, but is that going to absolutely stop you from buying this? In my case, no. I just want a quality Magneto.
>>7554782Glad we agree in the first part
>>7554782>I just want a quality Magneto.Sucks you'll have to keep waiting. So far no one has done a good Magneto.
>>7554316>top their Punisher or Popeye but I think Sovereign Knight may be one of their best figures.I mean, glad you like it but I really don't see how. It comes with an average amount of accessories and it's re-using a buck that has limitations. I'll wait to see what the third batman version in this line looks like.
>>7554839I mean, it's not to everyone's tastes but there's no denying the Revoltech is a quality figure.
1/2 off everything on Mezcotoyz.com rn, add to cart to see
>>7555317They had to drop this right after putting Magneto up.....
>>7555317That's clearly an error.
>>7555317Got captain marvel and sovereign knight. Can somebody explain what the hell their waitlist is all about in the off chance these go through?
>>7555345Retail stuff that you can get at retail elsewhere has a decent chance. Stuff that blows up in popularity less so
>>7555333I feel like they will honor it on In Stock releeases, but not POs or Waitlist.Or especially not Waitlist. They'll have extras and be like "fuck them"
Have we seen any in hand versions of the PX blue Sovereign Knight? I love the Neal Adam's look
>>7555545This promo is making him look like all his shit is peeling off already.
Sovereign Knight is a fucking masterpiece, the best figure Mezco has done so far. The articulation is better, the fabric has more give, the aesthetics are 10/10 and it comes with the most accessories of any standard release I'm aware of. I'm not posting a photo because my photos suck ass and photos never do Mezco figures justice anyway.
>>7555552Lol it's using an old body that has issues with the ab-crunch and the ankles are kinda shit too.Why is everyone sucking this thing's dick? It does nothing new.
>>7555574>Lol it's using an old bodyMy ass. I own four other Mezco figures and none of them have arms that can sit as flush next to the torso than SK Batman. And I don't know if it's new engineering or the give of the material but SK Batman can do splits that put most Marvel Legends to shame. Also it has a new double ball peg in the neck joint that allows for a lot more movement. The way the cape connects to the cowl makes it so the neck joint at the shoulders can't move as much as other Mezco figures but the new double ball peg more than makes up for it.
>>7555552Still not better than DKR Batman
>>7555552I'm pretty tempted. Just not sure which version I want.
>>7555581My old ass BvS batman can do that stuff. Wouldn't even be surprised if it's the same body. has the same double-ball in the neck too.>the splitsStill pointless considering nobody will dare leave them in a position like that because muh cloth damage.
>>7555574Wrong. It's a new buck. It even has slight butterfly joints in the shoulders which is awesome. The only thing I'm disappointed with this buck is tphis ab crunch. Otherwise it's a fantastic. >>7555671Cloth wear is less of an issue with this figure. I think they changed the material because it doesn't bunch or wrinkle or anything weird that some of the other suits do. Plus the lack of vinyl makes him just a dream to pose. I was extremely luje warm on the figure and got him only because I wanted the Knight trilogy they're doing. I was surprised about how great he is.
>>7556065Tell me what this "new body" does that any previous mezco batman can't and I'd be happy to prove you wrong.
>>7556123The arms sit very flush with the body, it has boot cuts. It has slight butterfly joints and his ab crunch sucks for whatever reason compared to Ascending Knight. It's definitely different from the bulky DKR Batman. I don't own any of the Batflecks though so I can't compare directly but that body looks a tad more bulky than Sovereign Knight.
>>7556144Arms flush, boot and fore-arm swivels, bicep/thigh swivels, same minor(bordering on useless) butterfly and same crappy ab-crunch.
>>7556179Splits could go further, if not for the fabric.
>>7556179>>7556182Oh dear, that looks very, very bad.
>>7556269I think you forgot to post your reasoning.
>>7556179Looks bulkier than SK. I'd have to see side by side to say for sure. But like I said I don't have Batfleck so I could be wrong.
>>7553307>>7553296looking good, but>that knee padwhy? why mezco do this type of shit to ruin almost perfect figures? jesus christ
>>7556314knee pad looked better with the darker deco
*Notices bulge*OwO what's this?? :3
>>7556314This. Shit sticks out like a sore thumb now that the lines are less prominent.
>>7556427Don't like it don't buy it.
>>7556397Mmm Batman u so musky
>>7556283Like, the articulation looks majorly hindered by the suit, which itself doesn't look very good. Looks like he's wearing a onesie.
>>7553296He comes with an alt face, right?
>>7556547Comes with three masked heads but unfortunately I don't believe you can swap the mouth pieces without modding it
>>7556547Yes this is the gritting face. The nutral face is on the longer eared helmet. I like it but I like the shorter ears more. He also comes with a battle damaged head and a Bruce Wayne head.
>>7556452>those complaintsThis is a mezco thread. They all have those problems. And as far as Batfleck goes, he has more poseability than most.
>>7556433>STOP TALKING ABOUT MY TOYS!!!shut up
but do you ladies will enjoy the farts from the batmen ??
I can't understand why they keep making these shit figures after what they did whit TDKR Batman and Judge Dredd, those were awesome, now all figures look like cheap crap
>>7555317Yeah about that...Some people from FB believe that that 50% deal from last night might've actually been potential hacking threat to steal CC info, especially when this randomly popped up for a buck. What made me laugh even more was, it was listed as 2 pounds and 12 inches. So RIP whoever put in an order last night.
>>7556891Hilarious if true, wonder if Mezco will even fess up.
>>7556643Why do you live your life having shit opinions about everything?
>>7556894I doubt it. They barely acknowledged it on Twitter.
>>7556904enjoy your crap then, faggot
>>7553307Can you swap the AK head onto the SK? I prefer the cowl with short ears, but that sculpt really didn't translate well in the final product and I infinitely prefer the overall look of the AK head over the SK head with longer ears.
>>7556925Enjoy being an unloved faggot that hates everything.
>>7556952I don't hate verything, TDKR Batman and Judge Dredd are great figures, love them
Dangit. I preordered the PX Neal Adams blue and grey Batman from Amazon and it had a street date of May 30th. They just updated the release date to September 27th. I was so stoked for this guy too. That's too dang far off.
>>7557316it'll probably be out in six weeks or so
>>7557316>Neal Adams Batmanno way that's Adams design with those shit hockey pads
>>7557316I really do like how this suit looks, but I have very strong doubts about that vinyl.
>>7555587DKR Batman is shit by the simple fact that it's based on DKR, no amount of supposed "quality" could redeem it
>>7556958So you're an unhappy prick, got it.
>>7557887if not sucking Mezco cock make me a unhappy prick, I'm fine with it
>>7558070You thinking it has anything to do with "sucking cock" shows what a prick you are. Thanks.
>>7555545>Neal Adams lookNigga what? Don't even try to compare this garbage mezflair design with one of the greats.
>>7558526Cry more you whiny cunt. That's exactly what it is, despite your tears.
>>7558529not every Batman with blue cowl and oval bat-symbol is a "Neal Adams Batman", even more with all those overdesigned shit and the lack of trunks. you stupid fuck
>>7556946SK peg is slightly smaller than AK. The head just sits there and doesn't actually click in. Looks decent though.
>>7558526>>7558529>>7558531Did Mark Waid ever draw Batman? If so they need to do one based on that, to make stupid people cry.
as an original MEGO figure collector back in the day, i am very tempted to start collecting these figs. most impressed with the advancements in toy production. My original MEGO bats looks like so retarded by comparison and i may have sell him and the rest to get some of these new figs.
>>7558810wtf are you talking about, you autistic fuck?
what Batman could've been instead of these overdesigned trash
>>7559086I know the guy that makes these, Tony Mei he charges insane amounts for unpainted head sculpts and outfits. Fucker thinks he’s a high end custom maker.
>>7559166yes, I used just as comparison to show that it's a shame that mezco, sideshow and other mixed media companies still fuck up pottentially good figures with shit designs
>>7559173That Batman alone cost 300 plus shipping, dude lives in California idk why he charges so much for one figure.
>>7559177yes, it's overpriced, that was not the point of my post tho, I'm not saying anyone should buy a overpriced custom instead of the mezco, just that mezco ruins some good figures with their "detailing"
>>7551873Anyone know if their Gambit is coming this year?
Got Sam not too long ago. I absolutely adore this figure. He's so creepy and adorable, at the same time.
>>7559259the detail on the unmasked face is almost life-like.
>>7559262and then my cat photobombed sam. anyway, was wondering if anyone else has one and what do they think?
>>7559224It hasn't been solicited for pre-order yet so probably not. The only way it would come out this year is if it's a con exclusive.
>>7559279Has this been done before?
I really want that Keaton Batman, Mezco.
>>7559086>Mezco could have given us the perfect Jim Lee figure
>>7559264You have a cute pussy, anon.
>>7559293Sometimes a con exclusive version of a character will ship out a few months before the regular retail version but I doubt they'd release normal Gambit as a con exclusive
>>7559166>>7559177The outfits themselves are only around $150, which is honestly reasonable for someone to be making these on his own time. The full 250+ is for him to do the fitting himself. Its just what he deems his time to be worth. Being out of California makes it more reasonable because he isn't in some asian hole int he wall where the dollar is a few lifetimes of money, he has to make a wage in one of the pricier places to live in the US.
>>7557316why don't you throw in a few "dag nabits" and "consarnits"?
>>7562388Why don't you whine some more?
Netflix DD looks lousy.
>>7564116Chin seems too long, but he looks really good otherwise.
>>7564116>that flat black padding>those oversized bolts/studs printed on the armor piecesWhat the fuck? What the hell happened? This could almost pass for a Soap Studio release based on looks alone.
>>7564116Yeah but what about the Mezco figure?
>>7564116Eh, could be worse.
>>7564116He doesn't look like an $80 figure. Doesn't look like a $40 figure.
>>7564116Jumping on movie licenses was such a mistake for Mezco.
>>7559166I would charge that too if I didn't really want to make these for people.Have you ever given someone an absurdly high rate just so that they say no? Well when they say yes you get yourself a pretty penny
That articulation thoughIf Mezco bucks aren't at Marvel Legends levels yet they're damn close. Even better if you include the superior neck and wrist articulation.
I just got charged for Logan so I'm hoping he ships within the next week or so.>>7564116They really used the least amount of effort possible on these Netflix figures
>>7567845I like both but woof, having articulation on par with $20 figures on an $80 one should be super commendable.
>>7567845MLs have better ab-crunches lol, and they aren't even very good.
>>7567864There's this bizarre misconception that the more expensive a figure is, the more articulated it should be, and that is not the case at all. It all comes down to what the toy manufacturers prioritize. If Hot Toys and Sideshow prioritize aesthetics over articulation and that's what collectors of those toy lines want, then technically people will be buying $250 figures that don't articulate as well as figures that sell for $20.It would be very easy for Mezco to follow that same path since their appeal as a toy line is very similar, so the fact that their line articulates as well as it does is kind of incredible.
>>7567845>>7567981Most of what Mezco makes have superior bodies over MLs. more articulation, though Hasbro almost caught up with their Overwatch and Power Ranger figures.
>>7568001I really do think they could create a better articulated figure, it is just being hindered by the soft goods gimmick. If they can find the right balance they might solve the articulation problem in the future
This looks bretty gud IMO
>>7568191What’s that flying Superman in the background?
>>7568301Cool. Thank you!
