isn't that normal for Fanstoys?
>>
>>7527462
What’s wrong with this? Could you imagine how shitty the set would be otherwise?
>>
>>7527472
Not really. I'm just upset that Toyworld/Zeta opened up this new can of worms of combiners that aren't combiners.
>>
>>7527472
Seeing as how they've never done a combiner before, it's hard to really say what's "normal" for FT but judging from the fact that Superion has been confirmed to do it too, I think it's pretty safe to say that it is their norm.

If you're talking partsforming and false parts, then no, that isn't normal on their non-combining releases.

But to actually comment, I think part of the combing problem comes down to how the trailer is handled. Is it part of Motormaster? Is it part of Menasor?

It's a pretty decent and well made figure, doesn't have the best articulation though.
>>
>>7527576

Sunbow Menasor is just a really stupid design. All the limb bots basically contribute nothing and it's all on Motormaster to turn into a giant black man by himself.

Just about that, yeah. Very tight ball joint on a strut (the purple bit sticking out of the arm) that can easily stress itself from the leverage of trying to move said joint.

Do you have an example of one that’s designed property?

MMC is trying it, and I hope they succeed, but I’d prefer FT sticks with the parts forming since the main appeal is how good the individual bots look.

I decided to order the KO of him. Hopefully they do Challenger next. They seem really good but didn't feel like they were 130 good, know what I mean?
>>
>>7528886
>>7528947
It's my second favorite toy from 2017. Both modes look awesome and the transformation is pretty much perfect. The only fault I can think of is that they prefered to make that dumb dog instead of spending just a few more time/money on engineering to hide the side mirrors without partsforming.

I own the original and the first KO (forgot the name of the company) to test some mods before risking to fuck up the real deal. The KO is almost as good as UT's, the plastic feels a little cheaper, some stressmarks here and there but nothing dealbreaking IMO.

I think between the two groups they're entirely different animals. I can vouch for Double Evil, but won't deny that Flame Toys have a very special look to them (even without handling them myself). His transformation is simplistic and straight-forward enough (nothing like ol' Wardog there), but not everything moves as smooth as you'd like it to. That's mostly just on the two panels that make up the back of the turret -- really stiffly stuck right out of the box.

Or maybe the team should have been called that and the combined mode would be called “The Judge”. Potentially with his double fusion cannon being called “The Executioner”, or even better, a war-hammer to thematically riff off of a gavel.
You know what, screw the DJD, they get to keep “Tarnation”, this idea deserves to be its own thing.

I primarily collect Decepticons, so Trypticon makes more thematic sense for my collection, and Comera's "ankle breaking issues" make me nervous. On the other hand, I really want a female transformer that LOOKS feminine. And I'm sorry, but Power of the Primes Slash looks androgynous. But I don't know if it's worth it to buy such an expensive 3P toy that might break on me
>>

yeah, I'm just not sure if I want him. He's really amazing looking, but he's also really expensive. I'm just not sure yet. I am going to a comic-con at the end of May. If I see him there, I might bite the bullet on him (depending on how much he's being sold for)

>>

Check out that fancy website threads on it. The ankles magically lock up despite being friction hinges and just snap off on a worrying number of copies. I'm not sure what the deal is but it does not impact all of them.

There isn't a lot of choice when it comes to con dinos. You can probably find TR trypticon without issue. There is also the MP beast wars guys but you'll be paying out the ass. If you just want a good Dino the best bet is always px Vulcan who is being reissued.

I bought one a year ago without knowing about the ankle problems ahead of time. Part of the trouble is that the ankle feels tight, but is still slightly moveable even when it’s placing undue (and undetected) stress on the stalk of the joint. The stalk broke on mine after I’d already transformed her once, so it’s not so much a hamhands issue as an inability to detect whether the one you have is about to break.

The thing is, only the left ankle had this problem on mine; the right ankle, and the replacement left leg I got from TF Source, both move smoothly and without any problems so far.

Anon, I personally think Chromia is worth it, BUT I would recommend that you a) see if one ankle feels tighter than the other (the “good” joints feel like a normal, kid-friendly retail toy’s ball-and-socket joint), and b) be prepared to disassemble the foot/ankle (there are 2-3 screws which hold the foot together around the ball joint). You may be able to salvage a tight ankle by loosening it in this way. Anons with more experience in models and toy-repair can probably offer input on lubricants which will help as well (for example, some lubricants will deterioate the.plastic, and should be avoided, but I do not have a full list of those on me). If you’re willing/able to take all that into account, she is a VERY aesthetically-pleasing dinobot girl, with perhaps the best T&A on a 3P or official transformer until Firebird Arcee gets enough backing to become a reality.

Finally got to play around with this fella today. It's so damn good it makes me wish there were more good KOs of 3P in affordable prices out there.

How's poseability on IFs War Giant? Anything to be wary of when considering its KO?
>>
>>7530373
I can’t decide if I want Ismenios or if I should wait on Mastermind’s upcoming D-Zef Continuum
>>
>>7530472
There's only a couple of known noticeable issues in War Giant. I know for Brawl there's the potential for his shoulder balls to rub and scrape up in the socket. The major one of course is the tightness that exists on the mushroom pegs for Vortex's and Blast Off's arm mode elbow. A little bit of shaving there might help. I can't speak to the Pocket Toys version, however. I can post any kind of picture you want of him when I get done with my outpatient hospital visit.

>>7530475
The benefit that Inseminos offers is the secondary kit that changes out his look. He's a real hefty and sturdy guy, and I haven't noticed any sort of QC issue to him. I can also do pictures of him if you want them.

Eh that’s not the ONLY reason Trypticon went on clearance , when toysrus went under last year, some of their stock was sold to a bargain store called Ollie’s in the US. They got Trypticon and Overlord and sold them for INSANELY cheap prices. They’re all long sold now, but anyone who was near an Ollie’s that couldn’t afford Trypticon now could. . So few people need Trypticon anymore and as such, online retailers are slashing his MSRP to try to entice anyone that needs him and weren’t near an Ollie’s or missed out

The elbow issue is the waist mushroom pegs for Vortex/Blastoff usually came stressed as fuck, likely due to insertion in the factory. Dunno if anyones ever broke, but I'd be careful. Check yours if you can.

Now to the bot modes. As you can see the screws are quite obvious, on the iron factory version they and the metal pins are actually black. That's probably the biggest and most notable difference, but it doesn't really detract from the look I feel.
The transformation for Brawl's arms is awful, but that's on IF. They have one peg and two tabs which makes them so secured in their position that you really have to force them out. I might actually sand down one pair of pegs. While this part is scary the plastic feels pretty good and I haven't ever felt like I was going to break something.

Swindle has one of the two missing paint aps, the middle part of his chest should be black. Otherwise he's great and probably the best of the bunch.

next ones. Blast-Off is pretty solid, the only thing is that he has a splotch of silver paint on his chest. Probably easily fixable, but I haven't bothered yet.
His hip joints are loose, but you actually get replacement hips for each limb bot (it's still tight enough that I haven't bothered though)

Vortex is the problem child. Like Swindle his chest should be black, not teal. It was extremely hard to get what will become the elbow joint out of his torso, so I loosened the screws on his back. Now the helicopter tail that goes over his head doesn't peg in very tight, but at least I can get the elbow joint to extend. This is a good point to mention that all the ratchet joints on this KO were extremely tight, but four of them could be loosened easily by loosening some screws and the other two (the knees in brawl and Swindle) got better over time.

>>7532092
I just checked, Vortex is perfectly fine, but the one for Blast-off looks like it might be breaking. I can't really take pictures of it, but that definitely doesn't look good. Thanks for bringing that to my attention

now the onslaught comparison (left legit, right KO). If you don't know what to look for (mainly the screw colour) these look almost identical. The transparent pink and the silver on the KO are slightly lighter which actually looks better imo, as it makes for nicer contrasts.
The two antennas on the head of the KO are a bit bent because they are made out of rubbery plastic. The ones on the real one aren't and I've heard many reports of them breaking, so it seems the KO company wanted to avoid that.
The middle antenna on the Ko can be positioned more vertical as on the legit one, because the pin is situated slightly farther back. That's pretty much negligible though.
Also if you look at the folded up feet of Onslaught you can see the soles are molded slightly differently. No idea why

one pic from the back. once again, legit on the left, KO on the right. On the cannons the different screw colour is really noticeable and you definitely want that side turned to the back.
I circled the worst nub in red, there are a few others like that on the other KO bots, but none as bad as this one.
The silver thing on his butt is really hard to peg in on the KO, but I leave it off most of the time anyway, since it looks dumb and only serves a purpose in the weird combiner parts buids.
In green I circled a part where the original is actually worse than the KO. There's a tiny peg there for the alt mode, which gets in the way of the back part of the combiner torso and creates a gap. I can't for the life of me get that part to fit right, but on the KO there's no problem
>>
>>7532131
finally the bot modes for Onslaught. Not much to say here, except that for some reason the whole face seems to be remolded. The original has a much smaller visor (almost unnoticeable from certain angles) and darker mouthplate, while the KO has a bigger one, brighter colours and a weirdly "jagged" mouthplate.
Also the KO's chest is extremely hard to flip open, but getting the head out of the torso on the original is equally hard.
Overall I'd actually say the KO feels better to handle, because the joints aren't as tight as on the IF version, but still tight enough to hold poses. Only the ratchet joints are an issue and need adjustment.

and for completion's sake here's a pic of the rest. As mentioned new hips for each limb bot and you also get the shockwave gun and the flight stand adapters for Vortex and Blast-Off (no actual stands though).
I forgot to take pictures of the individual weapons, but you get everyone of them and can combine them into the big one for Bruticus.
Also I forgot to mention the crotch armour when talking about the original's tightness. You can basically pull it apart (needed for making a trailer out of the combiner parts), but it's so incredibly tight that I've only managed to do it once. That problem doesn't exist on the KO.

TLDR: The KO has some issues, mostly QC, but overall is comparable and in some aspects arguably better than the original. If you can get it for a decent price I'd say it's worth it
If there's any questions left feel free to ask

>I guess my only question at this point would be: why did you get and keep both to begin with?
Good question. I got the legit Onslaught on sale but missed the other ones and they got really expensive (imo the original price was already pretty high).
Then I found this KO at a con a few weeks back for a good price (couldn't tell it was a KO at first and thought it was just one used one until I saw the box) and decided to give it a shot. I kept the real one in case the KO would break, but I'll probably sell it in the future.

A friend did a quick & dirty photoshop on the head to reduce by another third. I personally think it's now far too small, but he's of the contrary that it now makes it "the right size."

My main reasoning is that his neck stem is at the right size (for being made of translucent plastic) to not so much risk breaking, and that going smaller would likely compromise this.
>>
>>7533772
I like the tiny head way more, honestly. Feels more appropriate for Overlord, while the "upgraded" head isn't that much smaller than the SD iteration.

Really do love his colour scheme. Was never a fn of megatrons red but this works well personally. Also this mode is so fucking annoying to get to stand but it looks lovely once you do.

And here we are at the end of the week, and TCP is sending out invoices for them. He'll be nice to have, but my current Diaclone shelf is only designed to house my Diabattleses and Battle Buffalo.

We live in the right timeline, thanks Captain America of Avengers: Endgame.
>>
>>7534800
If it was the right timeline they'd have KO'd the Takara version.

When and where can I buy this? What company?
>>
>>7534819
Now from Chinese sellers, same company as the COOL BECOME BRAVE, TAIKONGZHANS IS A RISE KOs of the CW combiners.
>>
>>7533836
Wait, how did you get him early?!?
>>
>>7534800
Too small. Manlet Constructicons don't belong in anyone's collection.
>>
>>7534867
It’s in stock in the uk. I posted the link earlier in the thread. I’ll post better pictures a little later since something came up yesterday.

Let me show you the perfect Devastator.
CW abominatons need not apply.
>>
>>7534957

Chosen Prime shipped theirs out early this week, I got mine yesterday in Hoosierland.
>>
>>7534963
What makes that ugly looking guy the perfect one? There's nine million knock off Devastators, how's he unique?

WHY THE LONG FACE

>>7534780

Excited. But where the fuck are Hound and Prowl?
>>
>>7535034
Hound is in April, they haven't announced a new Prowl.
>>
>>7533729

Honestly, I've started to prefer all my Master Made masterpieces with the big heads! Even when I'm pairing them with my Iron Factory stuff I'm starting to feel like it looks better.
>>
>>7535038

I meant Wheeljack. At the time I was thinking about the Prowl/Bluestreak mould that got rereleased in metallic colours.
>>
>>7534985
That one is unique in that it has no combiner kibble, with all of the parts self-contained by the individual constructicons.
>>
>>7535086
The gun is a separate part
>>
Used FP Colossus is goin for about $50 has no weapons

should i get it
>>
>>7535117
The weapons are pretty important, so unless you have a back up plan, it's a vote for no from me

>>
>>7535086
If he was a bit bigger (about IF Bruticus sized) and had the extra partscount/articulation that would afford he'd be an instabuy. As is, he is cool and I feel like a lot of the tricks he uses could be incorporated into a hypothetical CHUG-scale self-contained Devastator but he's a bit flawed.
>>
>>7535161
They sure haven't done anything to advertise that, though.

I try to be like minded here.
>>

I think beyond the heads, I enjoy the Statue Series for all the other parts you get. Apollo's tracks and tubes, Odin's ramps and sword pieces. I don't mind so much that D. Rex didn't get one because he's got guns for days to start with.
>>
>>7535167
There is this YueXing OSKO of Hulkie that is about the size of IF Bruticus, but it's the shittiest KO of Hulkie, with simplification and unnecessary diecast. see pic

>diecast in a legends
That's a yikes. But I don't include MM in that, I like their diecast.
