there's an amazing guide called buyfags.moe
I know statuefags mostly reference it but it has sections on garage kits, models, scales, doujins, figures, dakis, everything. Plus just about every store mentioned on your image, details on shipping rates, things to know about customs for individual countries....

right arm should be forward, left arm should be back, and vise-versa. That's how a person moves.
Also look up the "S" curve and "Contrapposto"

Back when this was made, there weren't many big players in the game. Nowadays there are so many (and many of those have subdivisions, etc) that this would get stupid complex really fast.

Good? It's kind of funny how this "guide" is only two places, lmao. Should also note that a lot of Franks vendors will haggle. And that Jungle is largely overpriced and if you're in the know, you probably won't wanna buy anything here cause you can get it for less online.

Seems like the best thread up to ask this, I ordered from megalopolis toys for the first time and its been two weeks now and they still haven't even sent a shipping notice. Is this normal or should I be worried?
>>
>>7505191
Like I said, I think it's kind of an exercise in futility. There are so many prominent companies now, and even the old ones have many confusing subdivisions (like for instance, the once-simple Revoltech now has had like a half dozen spinoff lines and sub-brands, like Mini, Takeya Shiki Jizai Okimono, Movie, Geo, etc). I think updating it properly will both be very difficult and kind of a waste of time, since it'll likely result in a super bloated infographic that's just daunting to newbies, who are the "target market" for such an infographic in the first place.

>Like I said, I think it's kind of an exercise in futility.
Not really, but it needs to be redone with a different point of approach, like the overall cathegories mentioned should be something like this:

>Chibi figures
>Characteristics of these type of figures:
>Examples (Nendo, Cu-poche, chibi-art, etc)

>1/12 scale figures
>Characteristics of these type of figures: ( that they are considered Non Scale, but mostly fit the 1/12 scale with some expections
>Examples (figma, SHF, Revos, AY Revos, ML, DC figs, etc)

>Plamo/Model kit figures
>Characteristics of these type of figures: Mostly mechs, ships and militar vehicles, but some humanoid figures as well
>Examples (Gundam everywhere, FA, FAGs, MD, Planes, Tanks, etc)

>Mini Figures ( any figure in the 1/18 scale or less could be included here, even some gashapon figures too)
>Characteristics of these type of figures:
>Examples (Hexa Gear, Aqua Shooters, Desktop Army, Pose Skeleton, etc)

>1/6 Scale figures
>Characteristics of these type of figures: fabric clothes, mostly for realistic or movie/tv characters, etc
>Examples (hot toys and many other)

>Scale Statue
>Characteristics of these type of figures: non posable, different scales, some are cast off, etc
>Examples

This is how I think it sould be redone, what do you think anons?
>>
>>7505385
I'd say it's a good start, but don't forget things like gashapon or gachapon however you say it and PAKs.
>>
>>7505837
>PAKs
I guess these could fall in the 1/6 scale section, Bring Arts in the 1/12 scale too
Point is that the other anons mentioned, that list could be updated, but with a different approach

Sadly I can't post PDFs here, but this site has a bunch of PDFs on how to make various diorama/dollhouse items.

Here's a screen cap of their Chinese take-out box. I haven't built this one yet but there's probably a better way to do the noodles.

The point of this image was to put the things that people new to the hobby would call figures. For example, people would refer to all Japanese figures; scaled, nendo, whatever, as figmas. That's why it might save your life if you know the difference, because people would shout at you.

They're purportedly pics of /toy/ soldiers from this massive thread we had back in the day, but of course, it's hard to verify who's legit and who just Googled a pic for laughs and posted it. You can just google which western toy you want and the first sites will usually be fine, things like BBTS, Entertainment Earth, Sideshow, etc. Just check a few and pick whichever is cheapest with item price + shipping.

non-cartoon/non-movie/non-hero related site.
I know I can google them but I feel like they'd be fishy as I've delved into this before and didn't feel right.

How trust worthy are opened/used figures on Mandarake?
>>
>>7532230
Haven't encountered any major problems so far.

I do sometimes wonder if some of them were sold to Mandy brand new because of some minor QC issue and the original owner was super anal about that sort of thing.
>>
>>7532230
Mandarake is very trustworthy. Most of the preowned figures will be like new unless they state it as otherwise. (And note that "box damaged" means someone breathed on it as far as they're concered)
