>>7501540That was a good day at WonderCon. I'm glad I was able to get that shot when I did.
>>7501712It's a pretty good looking group pic. Everyone's in scale and the only thing missing is Peni Parker, but I'll let it slide since the official one looks like a gremlin.
Surprisingly, I don't have a lot of group pics. Have this one from when I had too many packages coming in in a single month. That was a good month. Felt like Christmas and birthday rolled into one.
>>7501955Starscream's so adorbs.
I made a comic but it has some censored tiddies in it. Will that get me banned?
>>7502103Nah. Moderation's pretty lax here.
>>7502113Well haven't seen tits 404 something yet, save for statueshit.
>>7502117>Are you the lad who spent 140 on Satsuki?
>>7501540Hey look, it’s Wonder Con!
>>7502769Someone spent 140 dollars on Satsuki? The girl shelfwarmed for nearly a year thanks to being unbuyable without Matoi Ryuko.
>>7503601Oh that poor soul, he's done worse than Saberfag.
>>7501548How'd you get the blurry, retro look to it? Its a very nice photo
>>7503772Just shift a colour channel slightly in Photoshop.
>>7502883>Exposed hip jointsBueno...
>>7502879Really like this
>>7505434>"Hey, do you hear something?"
recently reread the bendis run you know
>>7502883how's the paint transfer on yours. I hear that an issue with DMG
I haven’t shot these fuckers in years, literally.
>>7509989Those 3 little exo suit dudes look neat, where are they from?
>>7511480>>7511485>>7511488>Posing with gay flowersThis is exactly how I imagined Shockwave would behave.
>>7510429Diaclone Reboot (or the MechFansToys KO's, depending on your budget)
>>7511815Well fuck me sideways.
>>7511499Got the sun to give off a lense flare. I kinda like it.
I've never done this sort of thing before, if it wasn't painfully obvious.Anyone got any tips or guides?
Made a very basic lightbox
There's a local park in my area that's great for outdoor photos. Give me some tips, anons. Thinking about doing a set with my Figuarts Rock Lee.
>>7511480What an oddly attractive photo.
>>7513076>that detailBlack Mamba?
>>7513076Get a nice camera, a nice figure and a nice background. That' spretty much it.
>>7514238Yeah. Honestly, out of all my official and 3rd party purchases, he's probably my favorite toy. >>7514241K. I'll keep at it then.
>>7514306A nice camera is not always a must, yeah you can get more freedom, better results and features if you know how to use it properly but you can get nice results using just your phone as well. Make sure you have good light.
>>7513076Is that a KO studio series megatron? It looks nice. So does the photo.
Has anyone ever done photos at night? Thinking about doing a night set when my Figuarts Kiva gets here.
>>7508710no issues m8>>7504223thanks
>>7514745You’ll need a tripod, timer/remote, and expose longer
>>7514770Always difficult for me to get good night shots at public places since our eyes perceive differently than are different than our cameras.
>>7515472*perceive differently than our cameras
Question guys. What do you like more in toy photography? Photos that are taken in diorama environments or photos taken out in the open with real rocks, plants, trees, etc.
>>7516039Out in the open. I like pics done in a realistic way, but that you can tell it’s a toy.
>>7516079Forgot to include my own answer but yeah I agree anon. I like pics out in the open as well. Everything looks more natural and realistic.
>>7516039I like it all but prefer shooting outside because creating dios takes time and money and I don’t feel like sculpting rocks when you can just go shoot actual rocks. Also, sunlight is the best lightHowever, surprisingly few dios are actually good or convincing so there’s a lot of hemogeny in the ACBA style which makes it infuriatingly repetitive. Just Marvel Legends standing an inch or two away from a brick wall with tacky letters floating around and random colors in the negative space. See pic related. You’ve seen one you’ve seen them all. Their whole “everything must be in camera with no post” rule is pretentious and goes against literally every other school of thought in photography. Post is part of the process, always has been. That’s like being a woodworker who doesn’t believe in sanding and staining or varnishing—- it’s retarded. There’s tons of non-ACBA toy photographers who do great work with sets, dios, and artificial lighting.
>>7516039I like both but if I lean more towards the outdoor ones. The diorama ones can be really good and there is some awesome stuff out there. But it takes practice to get good diorama photos and you have have to scale everything down. I guess what I'm saying is I like putting the toy in my world rather than making a world for the toy because it's easier and I like using flowers and nature for back drops even though I dont get to do it as often as I like.
>>7501540What hat is that for Noir?
>>7516542I think Zombie13 made it.https://www.myactionfigurecustoms.com/store/p57/Painted%21_Custom_hat_for_Marvel_Legends_Spider-Man_Noir.html#/
>>7516409Great pic, anon!
>>7516039Diorama for sure.Outside photos tend to be mostly just nature while Dioramas can vary from nature, fantasy, sci-fi etc (Ignoring ACBA and their famous alley shots).I always enjoy the making side of the diorama too as well as the picture taking, both play important parts.
>>7516039outside, ACBA has sort of ruined the whole diorama thing for me at the moment and stuff involving effect parts. It looks tacky compared to just getting a nice shot outdoors.
>>7516542I used the hat from the Cult Classics New Nightmare Freddy Krueger.
>>7516212Nobody said ANYTHING about ACBA, and here you are shooting off with this corny little essay. Maybe you should just close your eyes, it's so easy
>>7517350>Maybe you should just close your eyes, it's so easyTake your own advise if you don't like what I have to say. Anon asked about outside vs dio. You really think ACBA wouldn't eventually come up in a discussion about dio-based toy photography unless I brought it up?
>>7517350ACBA sucks anon, deal with these truths of life.
>>7517507Not that guy but we know they suck. We dont need to be reminded about it 20 times a thread.
is this all OC or can we post stuff we like that we found online?
>>7516039Both, but I guess I prefer irl pics.
>>7501921Windrunner is flat as a board, that toy is all wrong.
>>7518108That's hella cool!
>>7517494>unless I brought it upAnd yet you did, you fucking dumbo!
>>7518108Fuck, I haven't been able to find this guy anywhere. Nice pic, I'm jealous.
>>7518419How’d you do this? Spray bottle?
>>7516039I like doing both outside and diorama. I'd add that lately I'm liking and looking to do more just spur of the moment toy shots, like on my desk or on a coffee table or something. Here's a some of each from me.
>>7519326That scorpion one is pretty cool. What’s your Instagram?
>>7507154>Bendis runWhen mr.hyde shows up out side Murdoch's apartment, also DD balancing in the light above all the oblivious reporters. Magoo kingpin.Love that shit
>>7519297Pump spray bottle.
>>7519614Thanks! It's reze11even, but don't get too excited because that's probably my best picture.
>>7519326What is the stuff to the bottom left?
>>7517940This is mainly for your own content, although that rule isn't explicitly written. You could start another thread and just source where you found em.
>>7519824The pink monster is a very cool and very affordable Deadly Spawn by Justin Ishmael. The sci fi building and little mantis robot are Planetary Base from iluilu Techno Loaders. These are not affordable and nearly impossible to find sadly.
>>7519781Don't undersell yourself Dan, you've got some quality shit. Been following you for a while and always dig what you post.
>>7520154This. I like ur stuff too dude.
>>7520500First time using a monitor as backdrop. I think it came out pretty good.
>>7520500>>7520564The angle of the backdrop makes it look weird. It seems like he's on some building floating in the sky.
>>7520576I don’t think the angle is wrong, just the picture was taken from way higher than the other buildings. Next time I’ll spend more time attention to that.
>>7520595I guess if there's any compliment it would be that using a monitor like that looks far more realistic than that one autist's photoshops from a certain Transformers Fancy Website. I do wonder how you'd handle fully-lit shots with this method though, it feels like they'll be far harder than the silhouette shot you did.
I've seen some people use lume cubes outside when there's still daylight, is this a meme?
>>7520626Dunno but i'd use a reflector if there's daylight.
>>7520500>>7520564looks cool and nice trick for a backdrop while still using a set piece.I disagree with >>7520576. It could just be a taller than the rest building.
>>7516039Desk shots that look casual and spontaneous.
>>7520661I’ve got tons of unused shots from the desktop. It’s where I play with them, then I discover a pose, then I set t up to kinda “storyboard” a shot, and if I love it then I retake that shot outside. Sometimes things change along the way.
>>7520661>>7520884Same here. Usually desktop fiddling turns into more “produced” pics.
>>7520154>>7520214Daww thanks guys! Rare to see some genuine support on the chan, much appreciated. >>7520661I mentioned this in my first post but it can't be mentioned enough, more and more I like this kind of thing.
>>7520886Tips on putting guys in the air? I've done it with stands before but it's to annoying to Photoshop those out
>>7520955That one is mostly a feat of balance. Link has a stand and the skeleton is actually being held up by him.Try your best to hide the stand or wire through posing or perspective to lesson your load but if you use stands and wires then ‘shopping is inevitable
>>7521023Should’ve used this example. Hate how it turned out but the horse is held by a pole like previous picture so I ‘shopped it out and Leonidas’ cape is hiding a Figma stand so I didn’t have to mess with it
>>7521026The cape thing is clever, but yeah I guess there's no other option but to shop those out. I still have to try wire, I bought some but I think it's not strong enough to hold a figure in the air
>>7501540>TFW proper movie version of Sp//dr
>>7517507So do these threads. Jfc my dudes, you spend hundreds of bucks on DSLR cameras just spout out some mediocre shit. You may as well just stick to tumblr and instagram
>>7522118Show us your acba stuff anon
>>7521067Sometimes I take shots of things I never put out there because I’m just too lazy to ‘shop out the wires
>>7522512Bro this is great even with the wire
>>7522693This is almost a great shot, but whatever that is in the background is stealing too much focus. It's the brightest thing in the scene and therefore draws too much attention from the Trooper. It's also creating weird ambiguous reflections that are pretty distracting. I'd take it out, or at least manage your lighting better.
>>7522699Honestly appreciate the feedback, it's so valuable. Pretty new to toy photography and got a lot to learn. You're right about it being too distracting. I thought my shot was too flat without something in the background.
>>7522693>>7522716Tough call. The first one is a little more interesting but Anon is right, that white spot is distracting. Anyway to remove it?
>>7520955dawg just stick a metal rod up they asses lmao
>>7501548Ah man, this is awesome!
There is a lot of cool staging here !This is my first attempt to picturing figures. if you have (even harsh) criticisms or advice, I'm ready to receive them. Otherwise my goal in the long run is to make a short video paying tribute to the SFC DBZ game Super Saiya Densetsu.
Just got this dude yesterday in the mail. I call it "Wandering the Forests of Nosgoth"
Does anyone know how to create a sort of radial zoom effect with black lines in photoshop? I super don't know how else to describe it, but I'm hoping someone here would know what I'm talking about
selling the lemonade
>>7526318That's adorable. Trade you a cookie?(Also, did all that stuff come with her? I want that bear lemon)
>>7526533It did not come with her. It's an Aqua Shooter doll and the Rilakkuma Honey Garden Re-Ment set. Re-Ment stuff in general is obscenely cute.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWjZ0QSBEIY
>>7526318I would like a glass. I'm bone dry.
>>7526764>>7526533It's piss, anon. You're asking to drink a cup of piss.>>7526313>>7526315
Got my first storm collectibles ninja today
>>7526786Should have looked at the other pictures. Guess I'm drinking this instead
>>7526786I know exactly what I'm asking for, Anon...
>>7526764You always make good use of various props. Know of a good 1:18 scale acoustic guitar and shopping cart?
>>7527439Thanks man. And I found some instruments on Ebay, it's where I got my saxophone for my skeletons. As far as a shopping cart u could probably find it on Ebay as well. Ebay has a ton of 1:18 stuff.
>>7527168nice dude, he's also my first
Kind of spontanoeus in its nature, but I love the way the shadow fell completely over his one eye, a la comic Starlin style.
>>7524645it's cute that you title your photos.
>>7527168why does he have lollipops for hands?
>>7529063Ermac's actually a pretty nice guy, loves to give candy to the children in between fights
>>7529068He gave that feller in the back some iced cream.
>>7524645Is that the old Neca?
Having discovered lightroom i started "remastering" some of my older shots.
Some backdrops my wife made, just trying them out.
>>7524842Do you have any tips on taking outdoor block shots like this? Im a complete newfag to this with nothing but my phone as a camera but I've been meaning to take some of my /pbbg/ vehicles outdoors and see if I can't shoot something cool
Timeparadox! come with me, no time to explain!
>>7530275Only the common pointers; keep the angle low, at the eye level of the figures, read up on “rule of thirds”, pay attention to lightning and the posing of a figure can make or break a photo.Regarding the phone camera, that’s not really an issue if the camera isn’t shit. On pic related, I took the top pic with a Nikon D3200 3 years ago, the bottom with an iphone a couple months ago.
>>7532394Here’s another comparison, top with Nikon D3200 3 years ago, bottom with iphone 6 last week.
Come on anons! It’s the weekend! Prime time for pics.
>>7533692I have not gone through my photos I took yesterday. But it's been pouring down rain for like 3 days so no outside stuff.
>>7518108>Dreamworks' Spyro the Dragon
Are pictures of playing welcome or is it serious business here?
>>7534164Does not have to be serious dude.
>>7534192Making sure. I often just like playing with them and taking a quick cell phone picture, no sets and whatever I am playing with in the background.I like being six years old again sometimes."Yotsuba eventually lost and had to go to Tad's violin recital afterall. He was terrible..."
>>7534266You can do whatever you want in these threads, as long is it's your photos of toys. Well, except yknow. Post anything with a dioarama, or anything with a single-color background
>>7534266>I like being six years old again sometimes.I wish I had time to do that.
Just finished this for a friends birthday.
Imagine if the characters in Endgame had time to bond once they returned to from the snap.
One chungus of a ravage. I love him.
Nothing crazy, just love how MP-43 looks.
>>7537228I love it.
>>7537228Where'd you get that Chain chomp? Yotsuba would love one! Also, bless you for creating a scene from one of my top five favorite games.
>>7537438>>7537228Shit, also, what Link is that. Is that an Awakening figure?
>>7537442Found himEx-032, ordered it straight away. I'm an accessory person and there's so many with that one.
>>7534192What a smug fembot.
>>7537758She really is.
>>7524651Oh now that's beautiful. Revoltech?
>>7537400>>7537759>>7537438Thanks, Glad you guys like it.>>7537438It's a World of Nintendo figure by Jakks pacific, it was at my local super market, but there's some on ebay.>>7538472Nice, I like it.
>>7537812 looks like Hasbro Marvel Legends Monster Venom and Toybiz McFarlane Spider-Man
>>7537695Rainfags owned again
>>7537795>>7534192I'm even more pissed off that I never bought Slipstream when she was released.
>>7540288How are the after market prices? I never bothered to check.
>>7540417Most of the ones I've found range from $200-$625, but I've seen a few on eBay going for about $70-$100.
>>7540426Ebay sounds the best. Fuck that's outrageous.
The Link figure came in as well as some beers/root beers I ordered. Downside is they sent the regular link instead of the EX I paid for and won't respond. Upside is it's a bootleg so I'll get a refund and just need to "Destroy" it.Also found a legit EX for less and it should be here tomorrow.
>>7540288I just got her for 23 bucks from Ebay a few days ago. I was so happy, even if she can't stand worth a damn.
>>7540534Who was the seller? Even if they might not have another one, I think I can get lucky with their other products, considering the deal you made with him.
>>7540534>>7540568Nevermind, I think I found him. His name is thatrandombot, right?
>>7540575That was fast, yeah.
If only this would happen to me in real life... oh well guess I'm going to be single forever.
"Why's a man got to pick up sticks against another man, instead of using them sticks to prop a man up?”
>>7543468lmao - I kinda regret passing over that Figma Widowmaker
>>7545449thanks dude, have a 2019 goji
Finally finished my dead soldier, not the best but it works l guess
Got another Chinese order in, amongst it was popcorn that claimed t be properly scaled, luckily it works even though it's too large. It will be a family bucket for Jigen, Space Ghost and Yotsuba on movie nights.>>7545614
>>7548325Shoot, the reason I linked to your post was I wanted to know what figure that is. It looks great and reminds me of "A Cricket in Times Square"."Image limit reached"
>>7548329Thank you! I know it's goofy but it's nice to get a (You).
>>7548221That's pretty cool, I really like the background
Bought one of these for the purpose of taking pictures with it and because I love Mad Max and these were the only official figures ever made, even if some of the details are off, but a buddy of mine told me I shouldn't open the box because it's a collector's item. This is my first time buying a (((collector))) toy, and I bought it entirely out of my love for Mad Max, not because I'm a collector. But on the other hand, this thing has been in the box for near 20 years now. Is it sacrilege to open it? What do you guys think, because I think I could get some cool forest pictures but I dunnoImage limit reached so this is the figure I'm talking abouthttp://www.madmaxmodels.com/toymaxwithdog.html
>>7552928Tell your friend to get his own if he wants to keep it in a box
>>7501921>Dota figureswhy have I not known these exist until now, and where do i get them?
>>7553268Figma, and they come with free in-game items.
