So the next Titan Class isn't a city nor a combiner

It's Optimus prime with a Huge Trailer.

Yep a Titan Class Optimus Prime
Literally one away from having all the city formers and they fuck it up. Optimus Cab will be leader sized but the trailer is the reason why it's going to sell for $159.99.

Atleast 3rd party is making a leader Sized Scorponok, and I can pretend it's a real toy even though it will be dwarfed by everyone else being a two foot tall behemoth.

Aside from Reflector, Brunt and Mirage, it feels kind of downhill from here. Red Alert and Barricade look like ass, Skyfire and Omega Supreme are too expensive and Impactor looks awful.

I'm still waiting for wave 2 to come out here (eastern europe) to get Soundwave, Starscream and some of the mini-cons to join Megatron.
In the meantime I'm hunting (relatively) cheap titans return deluxes that I've missed and looking into 3P and KOs.
>>
>>7496144
If you want cheap third party look into Mechfanstoys. Quality is on par with hasbro and they cost about the same as a normal figure. Their Reflector set is great and it’s slightly different from the Papa toys ones so they can both be troop builder sets. Their Gnaw set is also a troop builder and uses the TR legends mold of Gnaw in different colors.
>>
>>7496148
Mechfantoys Reflector is actually on my list, I'm sure to get it eventually.

>Fart rhinos
You act like that happened every episode. Well met though, that gave me a hearty kek.
As a fan of CHUG, Beast Wars, and UT, I do wish there were more Beast Wars figures, but that’s just as much from nostalgia for the army of non-show figures as it is from the show. We’ll probably never get that many figures with unique engineering again. (At the same time, anything that even comes close to the heyday of BW hype would bring with it a new generation of shellformers, so I guess it’s nice to not have to deal with that particular monkey’s paw.

I think BW is tricky because of how different it is from the rest of the different series
With Magnus we got in an eastbound RiD reference, but how are you going to cover Beast Wars without completely changing the aesthetics of the line? IMO we would need a line that covers the BW trilogy + BM, but GEEWUN is in the way of this sadly

Nope, and just by looking at the image, you can tell the legs and arms below the elbow will be exactly the same.

They might surprise us with other factors, but keeping the Galvatron legs already ruins the look, since they're the weakest part of his jet mode, and look nothing like Super Megatron's legs.

I thought siege soundwave was pretty good, so I picked up the casette 2-pack to go with him. Hoooo boy, was that a drop in quality. Laserbeak is passable but he won't really fit on the clips on soundwave's arm, and ravage is straight up terrible.

>>
>>7496635
We're guessing it's super megs but there's no guarantee
We just know he's megs cause his head appears to be arctic camo megs.
The tip of his canon looks kind of like super megs, and he has SOMETHING fin-like on his shoulders, but no wings to be found, and no thrusters, and theres that odd thing on his back.
I'm starting to think he's some other megs, or some variant of beast wars II galvatron.
>>
>>7496635
I feel like he'll be as successful as POTP Optimus to Star Convoy. Take that to mean what you will.

I have the same thing with my Cordon. Every now and then I pick him up to repose or transform and I remember how much I enjoy handling him. Sure, he's a bit of a partsy-looking mess in some places, but he just feels great.
>>
>>7496635
>>7496648

Kinda-ish, his altmode would be a mix of both galvatron modes, keeping the legs config of canon mode and arm config of jetmode. One thing is sure, he'll have a better looking head since he doesn't have o be a headmaster.

>>7496703
>but no wings to be found, and no thrusters
That thing on his back might be folded wings or thrusters since he doesn't need the gigant galvatron cockpit.
>>
>>7496019
We've been talking for months how Hasbro making a titan OP in the vein of star convoy would be a goldmine, it's pretty obvious it'll eventually happen, so no point in making shit up like this.
Honestly, if you took omega supreme and turned his tank into a separate optimus figure, with the rocket arms becoming a trailer for the inner optimus, I think the whole figure would sell gangbusters.

Maybe. And his wings could actually fold out from the back of his leg panels. I can't help but feel his "jet" mode will borrow more from galvys canon mode than his jet mode. If so, that thing on his back might actually be the handle/legs of super megs jet mode

all they had to do was a superficial minor retooling to the backpack piece so it could fold down a bit more for better clearance, and put the hands in the opposite sides, and it would have been a total G1 Mirage design. Hasbro is too lazy for even that.

His alt mode is a clever reworking of Galvatron much like how springer and sandstorm have two different alt modes despite being the same mold or broadside and alpha trion. It’s going to be a land based tank similar to energon sixshot

The current refraktor pretty much IS viewfinder, just with a different head. Spyglass would just need a slight chest retool, as the aperture is on a 5mm port.

We already got a good Cyclonus with Generations, and TR Sweeps aren't bad. Really need a good Galvatron, keep him as a deluxe, feel like Galvy should be smaller than Megatron in keeping the "new technology" being smaller and more powerful.
>>
>>7496947
Isn't Generations Cyclonus like ten years old, too small, and has too much grey and too dark a purple? I mean, it's a great figure, but engineering has gotten better over the years.

And TR Galvatron's fatal flaw was the head gimmick, even if the hands were iffy and the alt modes pretty crap. I can forgive those faults as long as the robot mode (especially the head) is okay, but that spring up mask just killed the toy, even if the idea came from a good place.
>>
>>7496954
Cyclonus is about half head taller than a TR dlx(full head than Siege), only lacks a bicep swivel and is available in "toon" colors(2pack with classics Hotrod).

Got a question: what is the best G1 Combaticon/Bruticus to get? The originals cost a lot, but I keep seeing people selling the RiD and G2 versions cheaper. Are there any difference between them in terms of reissues?
>>
>>7497062
They don't look anything like cyclonus in robot mode
From the top the alt mode doesn't look so bad until you realize it almost entirely folds onto his back.
>>
>>7497168
The Combaticon molds didn't change when they got reissued. So the only main difference is colors and the fact that none of the RiD Onslaughts have stickers, which make them super plain looking.

If you want them cheap, the desert camo set from the Universe line is your best bet. It was released at a time when Hasbro was doing a TON of Wal-Mart exclusives and it got over-ordered and had to be clearanced out. So it sells dirt cheap.

However, if you are getting them separately, I'd just spend the money and buy G1 Onslaught and Swindle at least, since he has the best color scheme of all of the Onslaught molds and Swindle because he's such a great character.

them being small meant they were dirt cheap, like if what little research I did indicates they were only slightly more expensive than your average Hot Wheels or Matchbox car of the time, thus a kid could quickly acquire a lot of them

personally the only real issue I have with the Micromasters is that they had an unbalance in the numbers of Autobots and Decepticons in the line

Yeah they had uneven numbers of MMs for some reason. More autobots than decepticons. And in the Japanese 1990 toyline zone which was all about the micromaster toyline they made EVERY micromaster product except one into Autobots. that line had 2 decepticon releases to like 20 autobot ones.

>personally the only real issue I have with the Micromasters is that they had an unbalance in the numbers of Autobots and Decepticons in the line

IIRC that was Takara's doing.

Japan is infamous in that toy companies often refuse to put out villain toys, because "parents don't want kids playing as the bad guy" or some crap.

Transformers was a bit of an outlier in that it was the rare toy line with a large number of villain toys, let alone one where all of the villains got toys of the franchise was released at that.

Takara wasn't interested in Micromasters (hence why the Victory line was made). But Hasbro insisted they had to take the Micromasters, so a compromise was made that the subline would be Autobot heavy so they could "better sell it to Japanese parents"; only to then also make the Decepticon Micromastes Autobots too in Japan

Amazon aren't the problem, it's Hasbro UK.
For some dumbfuck reason they're shipping single figure cases not waves and seemingly have no distribution schedule so it's causing massive delays getting waves to retailers. They're also just straight up skipping certain figures from waves entirely, Chromia and Scrapmetal for example.
It's been a nightmare for sites like Kapow and IDToys, I know Kapow posted on facebook a few days ago that they're cutting ties with Hasbro distribution until they get their shit sorted.

Kinda pissed MP-43 skipped out on a stand. Had anyone done a KO of the Dinobot stand? And speaking of Dinobot, after the whole shoulder thing, I barely touched mine. Can the shoulder defect be spotted visually? The shoulder ratchets seem to be sitting flush on mine.
>>
>>7497846
None so far as I know, and the connector is unique which is gay. if anything, MP-43 might create a demand for a stand KO, which would be nice.

Pretty much the only way to see the shoulder defect is if it damages the ratchet housing. The slot aligning the part with the ratchet teeth will just get chewed up to the point that it can move freely outside of the slot. I don't think the issue is as common as people make it out to be, though.
>>
>>7497857
Both Dinobots I bought had the ratchet problem. Unfortunately the first one that broke was better off, but I applied some shock oil and was really careful with the second, not giving it a chance to come unratcheted.

>Both vehicle modes work better than I imagined, and the drill springs inward which is fun.

Overall the gang isn't rock solid but I would recommend them if they look nice to you or you manage to have attachment to them as characters.

I have a question for American anons - how do you deal with the G1 Megatron toys? None of them seem to have the orange caps (which would look butt-ugly anyway), so are they illegal? Does that mean you can't find a G1 Megatron toy in the US toy stores?
>>
>>7497963
Stores that care usually add their own orange caps (so MISB can be difficult to come by) that may or may not be easy to remove. Any gun megs will usually state this on the store page when shipping to the US.

Also yes illegal but no one cares besides import customs that may or may not catch it. Toy stores pretty much never stock realistic toy guns.

Damn, I really want to ship mine out, but I'm waiting for another item to come in to my pile of loot.
>>
>>7497963
The only semi-realistic gun Megatron to to be sold at a US toystore since the 80's was too small to draw any attention and even then Hasbro said it'd probably never happen again. owning a G1 Megatron toy isn't illegal but you won't see one sold in stores anymore. They can be sold online but some stores tend to add orange caps for safety reasons.

Eh, I meant more the nutcracker jowls he has. When I saw the headsculpt I noticed parts of the face were meant to fill in blanks on the helmet, so it's a bit easier to parse visually with that in mind.

It's not illegal to own a toy gun that looks realistic, it's just illegal to manufacture, sell, or ship them. In some jurisdictions having a replica gun in public is illegal.
>>
>>7498084
So basically, it's easier to buy and own an actual gun that Megatron was based on.
>>
>>7498084
Yep; Keeps it from being confused for a real gun in public, and all toy firearms, realistic or fictional, are mandated to have an orange cap.

Not that it stops some cops.

I don't even remember the last time someone in the US got shot holding a toy gun that had an orange tip
99% of "toy guns" reported are airsoft, bb, or pellet, which aren't required.
Ironically, if a megatron toy was spring loaded and fired pellets, it would be perfectly allowed
Of course, it also wouldn't be sold in most stores
Not that it matters these days

Even if it doesn't happen, no one wants to be the person caught weakening child safety laws. And if you did change the laws and a kid did eventually end up hurt or dead, you'd be crucified. It's simply one of those laws that we probably don't need, but it's a terrible career move, so it's never done. From what I read, the porn censorship laws in Japan are in a similar position.

It's looking like that the next line is just going to expand upon Siege with no real major changes. Weaponizers are going to be given other size classes other than deluxe because that Wreckgar rumor apparently has him be slates as one of the first voyager weaponizers. Deluxes will now expand to two two packs of smaller legends-ish sized guys, I'm guessing this is how we'll get runamuck and runabout and maybe the Throttlebots.

Micromasters will stick around and we'll probably get the two packs that form larger vehicles. Slamdance is a 1 for 1 update of his original toys. My guess is beastbox is not far behind.

Selects, Siege 35, and WFC are all going to be running together. 35th anniversary line will eventually continue in some form after 2019.
>>
>>7498270
If the Siege 35 line continued past the anniversary they would probably make it be about the original G1 comics, I dunno how well that would go over. Like nobody carfes about the original marvel g1 comics, IDW is far more popular and well known.

Having a Junkion able to wear parts of other Junkions for armor and weapons would ensure that it would be scalped to High Heaven.

Like when would it end? having like each limb be equipped with one full figure's worth of parts each? But it probably wouldn't stop there until every possible hole could be filled with junkion parts.

And you would have retards buying figures to make a Junkion Juggernaut, a Junkion Scout, a Junkion Double Headed Shaman, and all different types of junkions.

Soundwave is apparently taking ‘wearing-armor-made-our-of-babies’ approach to fighting good guys.

Missing a few details there.
>>
>>7498184
I was more referencing that the actual threat to a child to be shot by police for having a toy gun is virtually nill.
For one, something like 90% of shootings involving gun replicas, airsoft, bbs, pellet guns, etc involve people literally trying to convince the cops it's a REAL gun.

It's entirely possible the bright orange tip law DOES work. Maybe it works so well that we think it's too strict? That happens sometimes.
I mean, not LIKELY, but possible.

much like most things it's avoiding that one time risks that if a kid did get shot and the parents sue your company and win, you don't lose millions on millions and get bad press for it. In 1978 Mattel was almost killed by one lawsuit and bad press incident over -one- kid dying from their toys, ever since then most companies that deal with kid merc and apparels do everything they can to avoid an incident because you only need one kid to be hurt or killed involving your product to lose everything.

So let me understand this, every month a new selects preorder goes up?

Megatron, Smokescreen, Ectotron, and Star Convoy are the only ones so far correct? Red Swoop and Stepper were prior to Pulse’s launch?

That’s six figures and way more than the fucking collectors club could even ship in a year.
>>
>>7498518
But didn't FunPub's subscription service have six figures a year as well? Or did it take more than a year to ship all 6 figures? But anyways, I still think there will be more than 6 a year for Selects, and at least they will be more than a shit new head mold.

>>7497943
I mean, you're not wrong. If you compare Takara's Generations Selects offerings to Hasbro's, it's no contest. Takara is giving us Big Powered, Armada Prime and the Seacons while Hasbro is farting out red Swoop, a Stepper from the worst Jazz mold that doesn't even come with a targetmaster, and an ugly Smokescreen.
