Because yay kaiju!
Anyone have any luck finding any of those Jakks Pacific KotM toys yet?
>>7490646Found all of them. Got big Rodan. He is THE BEST. So much paint wash
>>7490646Only one of the three Walmarts near me have put them out.
>>7490643So apparently some people already got their KOTM figures from HobbylinkjapanOrdered them a few weeks ago and they're still backordered
>>7490646Been checking like 4 different Walmarts whenever I have a chance since release. 5 days ago I found the foot tall Godzilla at one but it was the last one and he wasn't even in the right area and they had nothing else besides that one Godzilla. It was around that time when I found out that you can order the 2 foot tall Godzilla from the Walmart website. Then last night at a different Walmart I finally found the big King Ghidorah and big Rodan, they was on the very top shelf of the toy area where you can't see them but I'm tall, they only had 2 of each and had nothing else, I put the remaining 2 items lower so some kid can find them. I'm pretty much done now cause the mini sets look like shit, however if I find a king Ghidorah mini set I'll probably grab it cause I like Ghidorah but for now I'm done searching.
>>7490643oh hey nice work with the backdrop. colors feel like a showa show even if the painting is rough
Eleking Monsterarts when?
>>7490646yeah I got one of the small sets, the KG figure kinda sucks but it's fine
>>7491070If get another Eleking it would be in the figuarts line but that's a good thing cus the figuarts line knocks it out of the park with showa era ultra kaijuMonsterarts is hit and miss. The releases for figurats ultraman kaiju have slowed down though... what gives?
>>7491228Yeah,fucking Exclusive Showa Kaijus with little to no accessories.
>>7491272I'm pretty sure except for King Joe and Baltan they all have accessories... They're kaiju, it's not like they would come with an arsenal of stuff.
>>7491308Its a rip off, like Antlar, which could have effects or at least a temple or ultraman statue.
>>7491308Baltan didnt have blast effects like baltan 2.
>>7490643i just randomly found this Godzilla toy made like one of those crocodile toys Im so going to buy this!
>>7491446Or sandblast and magnetic cone beam.
https://old.reddit.com/r/GODZILLA/comments/b9mo89/heres_a_closer_look_at_the_5_min_footage/Leaked 5 minute Godzilla 2 scene. Ghidorah goodness.
>>7491496who gives a fuck about burger movies about Godzilla---> /tv/
For anyone who has it is the Bandai Movie Monsters Shin Godzilla as black as it looks in promo shots? I really want a Shin figure for my desk but I want one preferably that has all the creepy red detailing.
>>7491549imagine having bad tasteBurgerZilla fag is like marvelfag entering a European BD/comics community with his summer blockbasters stories
>>7491496I'm still torn on Mothra's redesign but god Ghidorah looks amazing. The enormous, more bat-like wings make him look so much larger and more threatening than the more traditional stubby look. He almost dwarfs the other kaiju.>>7491552>>7491554>>7491562The samefag here is off the charts.
>>7490643I wonder if Bandai will release a Gabara in the next 10 years? (quality of 6" Jet Jaguar from 2007)
>>7491504I was really wanting the SHM but all the qc issues made me delay getting it. Friend came back from japan with the vinyl for me and honestly it's pretty surprising just how good the sculpt is on this
>>7491577>burger godzillafag in denial
>>7491584I don't know why y'all get trigger over her so much, movie isn't even out yet so you don't even truly know if she ruins the movie or not. Then again I haven't seen s2 of stranger things so maybe you know something I don't>>7491496You really should have known better then to post something like that here
>>7491817It's one insane faggot with a grudge who was spamming the same shit last thread.
>>7491501Lol last 3 Jap godzilla films were straight up garbage
>>7491845If you say last 3 USA Godzilla films you get pic included so maybe cut the shitty anime films some slack, at least shin was kino
>>7491845>Lol last 3 Jap godzilla films were straight up garbageThis zoomer needs to go.
>>7491881buttblasted toho pole-polisher
>>7491613I love getting vinyl toys, either for Ultraman or GodzillaThey lack of articulation sure and sometimes the paint isn't really good, but they're pretty fucking decent figures for the price I'm already relieved that G2019 figure is better and bigger than the 2014 one, at least it'll be more in scale with some figures I have
>>7491845If you talk about the anime trilogy, they're a good example of missed potential. I mean the crossmedia lore with Godzilla killing every kaiju on the planet and made the US President killing himself on TV is kino as fuck, too bad the movie aren't even 1% of this.At least we got cosmic horror Ghidorah, executed poorly
>>7491921>and sometimes the paint isn't really goodYou could say the same for SHMA, to be fair.
>>7491930I agree, but there's a difference between a 15 bucks top figure and one that can cost 100
>>7491228They both look good to me. Left looks more heisei, right looks more showa. but is the engineering on the left one poor?
>>7491076Does anyone own this? He is one of my favorite Kaiju so i am willing to pay the large latecomer fee, but I want to know it's actually a good figure.
>>7491930i really really really wanted that SHM Shin Godzilla but held back after seeing video reviews of it. Any anons who own it can chime in? The price isn't an issue at all but I'd just like to know if it's a good sculpt.
>>7491946Yep! He's good. I have a feeling he'll get SHF'd soon, though, but regardless considering he's older he's a nice one to have.
>>7491946wait it out, i doubt his price will jump that high. shf is on a roll with the ultraman kaijus, even when most of them have hit the bargain bins. They're good releases too, I own a couple except for that one you're asking and they've all been satisfying kaiju purchases.
>>7491817>You really should have known better then to post something like that hereWhat, a fucking link related to the upcoming Godzilla movie? Fuck off.
>>7491948Sculpt has always been top notch on the SHMA. It's the crappily applied paint apps that ruin it.That's why I stick to more simple designs, less chance to fuck up.
Huh there's actually paint on the new Ghidorah figure, not just one colour like the promo pics imply.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQNug7DjaaA
>>7492256Still looks too flat for my taste, like someone dipped it into a mustard bucket. Maybe it's just the shade of yellow I don't like. I'll hold off for potential better figures in the future, since I have limited space and money right now.
>>7491921Ultra kaiju are pretty great for the price point. And some of them are surprisingly detailed and a lot have interesting designs.
>>7493553Kinda disappointing that the Kaijus from the line are smaller than Ultras figures, it's just off
>>7494031In case you weren't aware: They have Deluxe (DX) versions of some that are almost as large as figures like Mecha-King Ghidorah. I have Zeppandon and he's pretty big.
>>7493553Why do they al have the Bagan outline look with giant horn?
>>7491613So this guy is good, then? I wasn't happy with the neca, and the shma doesn't seem worth it so this looks like it might be alright for 20ish on amazon.
>>7494400the paint details are a bit lacking, but if you like vinyls he's perfectly fine
>>7491921I wouldn't mind getting a vinyl Ghirodrah simply because most all the articulated versions of him are expensive as fuck
This is a reference sheet of a Kaiju plush toy I’m making for a project of mine. When the prototype arrives I’ll share what it looks like.
>>7494595That looks dope. Do you have a social media page to promote it?
>>7494611That’ll come later down the line. I got 9 other designs being worked on (1 other created by me, 8 created by other people allowing they’re characters to be part of this) so once those are in the prototype phase, I’ll start up the social front tactic. I got a proof of concept toy (which is way bigger than it will be) of my character which I will share.
>>7494676I only got my personal Facebook page sharing this stuff until I get enough materials to share until the Kickstarter is close to being ready which won’t happen until later this year.
>>7494089I'm gonna be honest, I don't watch the show and I only collect the Kaiju because they look neat. The only Ultramen I own are from wave 1 of the 66 Action line.
What's everyone's thoughts on SSSS Gridman?
>>7495060I thought it was a fun series overall. The kaiju designs were cool. I loved how they were designed to look like Showa era rubber costumes. And some of them had some really interesting abilities. I also liked a lot of the ideas the show presented, I just wish it were longer so we could delve deeper into them. Also, I found everyone except the main character interesting. But that was part of the story, so by the end it was understandable. Also, also, Akane is best waifu!
>>7495060>>7495081Interesting, didn't know it was a kaiju anime. gonna have to check it out
>>7495060So glad they are finally making good merch. of the monsters.>>7495084It's based off the original tv show Gridman, which aired in Japan and also under Super Samurai Syber Squad for US and other english countries. It was a cool show and had a cool opening in Japan.>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6nXAc4nw00
>>7494595I remember you and your project! Did you end up using the "kawaijus" name somewhere? Loving your design by the way, Wish you the best of luck!
halpwhich stores still have MMS Ghidorah in stock?
>>7495648this just reminds me we'll never get a Showa-era Gamera or any of the kaiju the drugs at Daiei cooked up in the Monsterarts line.
>>7495648The new one? It's on backorder at HLJ.
>>7495644Matter of fact, the “kawaijus” name you mentioned long ago gave me a possible idea for chibi styled Kaiju plush toys (maybe small plastic toys) that would be small and more affordable, in a collectible sense. Maybe if this is successful I will down the line but right now I got a good amount of things coming. I’ll make sure to post pics of the toys once they come.
>>7495060Oh i didn't know they were making kaiju figures for the gridman anime, when is this getting released?
>>7491613>>7491921I've only got a couple of vinyl kaiju so far, '54 and GMK Godzillas and the original Mechagodzilla that just got rereleased recently. I've recetly ordered my first Ultra monster too with Antlar.Aside from the Final Wars version, are there any good 50s Rodan vinyls for cheap? I found an insanely pricey one on Entertainment Earth that's long sold out, but that's all.
>>7496058So far I have - 54 Godzilla- Shin Godzilla- Godzilla Earth- Godzilla 2014- Heisei Godzilla- Burning Godzilla- Godzilla 2000- Gigan- Destoroyah- King Caesar- Megaguirus- Orga- Kiryu- Titanosaurus- Gamera- Hedorah- Monster X- Battra larvaI also have Keizer Ghidorah, and for a vinyl figure he's really impressive
>>7495060The anime was bland as fuck and the characters had nothing to them but the kaiju and the fight scenes were cool.If they did a figure of the final episode toku inspired Gridman I would probably buy it but the series itself was a massive letdown.
>>7496352Yeah, I'd love to add Hedorah to my meager collection as well.
>>7496352Keizer Ghidorah is so cool. So jelly of your Titanosaurus. Him and Orga seriously need re-releases.My Movie Monster collection:>'54 Godzilla>'68 Godzilla>Godzilla 2000 (USA)>Godzilla 2000 (JP)>FW Godzilla (JP)>'14 Godzilla (USA)>Godzilla Earth>King Cesar (USA)>'74 MechaG>Gigan (USA)>Gigan (JP re-release)>Hedorah (later release)>Biollante (2018 release)>Orga>Megaguirus pack (refuse to open it due to how cool it is in the package)>Kiryu (drill arm version)>Rainbow Mothra (USA)>ServumI have the 4 vinyls from KotM coming in the mail too. Of all my vinyls, Godzilla 2000 (JP) and Orga are my all time favorites.
>>7496025August according to AmiAmi. Not sure what happened to HLJ's page.
A lot of my collection is sentai (mmpr) and ultraman kaiju, and I don't know all their names, but the ones I do know are:GoldarSockadilloRhinoblasterPirantisheadGuitardoArch BelialMagaorochiDiabolicGrand KingGesuraMiclasReicubasGan Q14" bandai creations Mecha Kiryu12" bandai creations Final Wars GodzillaA candy toy final wars GodzillaThe purple atomic breath Shin GodzillaAnd I got some heisei era MMS figures waiting in my hlj warehouse and an older King Ceasar from the 90s in the mail.
>>7496058There are no good and cheap old school vinyl Rodans that I'm aware of. The one I believe looks the best is by y-msf, but it's anything but cheap.
>>7495722That there's no Figuart or Figma of Daimajin is an absolute crime
>>7497919what's wrong with the Revo?
>>7497924Atleast there's the revoltech. As someone who doesn't like revo joints, I'm glad to atleast have the daimajin.Yeah, I'd like a figuarts of him but this is better than nothing. The character design doesn't really lend himself well with dynamic posing, but if you know how to work the revo joints you can get his legs spread far enough apart with his feet flat on the ground for a cool stance.
Why does the Monsterarts 62 Godzilla feel like such a mess? And are his hands swapped? The "thumb" feels like it's upside down on both hands.
>>7498100Nah, that's just how his hands are. Their '64 Godzilla had a similar thing going on.
>>7491454That is fuckin wicked. I'm gonna be all over that
>>7492256I'm actually pretty impressed with this, if nothing else just for the size.
>>7493553Which kaiju is this? I want it.
>>7499989Maga-Orochi. Watch out because there's one that's a DX (the one shown) and a 500 series ones (half the size). I have the 500 series one. Its pretty cool, just less detail and paint.
>>7499989Maga-Orochi from Ultraman Orb
>>7490643what buildings are those?
>>7500100He's a cutie.
>>7500090Yeah, I noticed that. At first I saw the 500 series one was like $7 shipped and I was hype but then I noticed the difference.
>>7500658The DX versions are really nice and worth the price. The regular ones are fun too, though. Especially for the more simplistic kaiju like Baltan or Mochiron.
I've never gotten any godzilla merch but I love the look of the new american one. Should I preorder the king of the monsters monsterarts fig? Reading this thread it sounds like there might be some QC issues.
>>7501501He's pretty cheap right now and comes with a spare atomic breath effect so I say it's worth taking a chance if you really like the design. As for the QC, the only iffy part's the eye paint but that's going to vary wildly from figure to figure. At leat sculpt wise he's pure Yuuji Sakai goodness.
>>7490643Are there some chances for new Mechani-Kong figure?
>>7491228Anyone know where I can buy the Ultra Act version for a good price
>>7501501Godzilla stuff usually always increase in price so if you want it for the cheapest price preorder is your best option. btw NECA is making one also and it's one third the cost, so maybe check that out as well
>>7501501Go for itNECA looks good too
>>7501558I'm honestly hoping the new king kong vs godzilla at least gets us a vinyl kong.
>>7501741>>7501614>>7501553Ok thanks, will check out the neca one. I was just looking at the monsterarts one cuz he releases in may and I can combine him with some other preorders I already made. I just want some sweet skronk for my desk.
These guys are essentially statues, but are perfectly in scale with the Ultra 500 vinyls and I really dig them. I got them together for $15 on Ebay, but it didn't specify what series the Taro is from. Mephilas is from the Ultimate Monster figure series apparently.
>>7501770the neca figure looks exactly the same as the previous release but with new spines, and I wasnt blown away by it. their new godzillas have improved a lot so it feels like a step backwards. I loved the monsterarts 2014 godzilla and the new one looks like a good upgrade and would be my personal recommendation, but if you wanna save a few bucks you'll probably be happy enough with the neca. That said, I'm sure both will have a couple of repaints, so you may want to hold off until a newer version comes out too.
>>7501830I borrowed my son's 500 series figures for scale comparison. I've got a 500 Antlar on the way to keep Taro and Mephilas company.
>>7501835Already placed a pre-order cuz ~50 bucks for the monsterarts is a pretty damn good price to me. But what's the repaints usually entail?
>>7500174the colored ones are from the 50th Anniversary edition of figuarts Ultraman, and the grey buildings are from the S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla Effect set 2 and Toho Ultimate Weapons set 2. I think I also see some of the white buildings in there, which are from the Tamashii Option Act Building set. They're just white versions of the buildings from the 50th Anniversary set if you'd rather just have the buildings. There's also a damaged version of these sets if you want a little variety in your setup.
>>7502857Repaints are usually exclusives and can go anywhere between $75-120, unless you live in Japan or have access to their p-bandai store.
So which line is generally better: X-Plus or CCP? Or are the lines generally equivalent?
So who's at the tactical disadvantage here? >SHF Jirass or Jet Jaguar when?
>>7505179X or Zero alone could probably take care of this easily.
>>7498100It’s objectively fantastic. My favorite Godzilla figure.
Which SH figures are the most risky in terms of QC? I'm thinking about picking up the '99 Gamera and Kiryu at some point but I'm not about to drop 150+ bucks a fig if the eyeballs are fucky.
>>7506592Is the new Kiryu even available for non-rape prices anymore?
>>7506620I have seen it go for under or a little over 200 on completed Ebay listings. Idk if that's Rape-tier but it's far less expensive than shit like Biollante.
>>7506631I wish they'd do Rose Biollante. That's one rerelease I'd gladly buy.
>>7506592Gamera should be okay...shooould be. Kiryu the only thing you have to be careful of (other than the small pointy bits) is the hoses on the neck and legs.
>>7494442How do the neck joints even hold up on articulated ghidorah? A figure like that getting floppy joints would be tragic.
>>7507245Gamera has fucked up paint on his bottom jew's teeth. Every single figure has this issue, hence why he's discounted now
Opinions on Biollante? Popped up on amiami all of a sudden.
>>7507939Besides the lack of paint and scale compared to the original Bandai Biollante, you can't go wrong for $20-$30. It's a great vinyl figure imo.
>>7506268What do you like about it so much relative to other SHMA?
>>7495060really cool to bh i might preorder
Is the original Giant Robo toku/Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot acceptable to post here considering we post Ultraman and stuff here? I recently got the Evolution Toy Dynamite Action GR-2/Torozon and I really like him. The magnetic joints are super cool.
>>7507245>>7507541Hmm. Looking at a few YouTube vids that tooth paint is really off putting. Does the 1996 Gamera have a better paint job?>tfw no SH giant bug mommy
>>7508888Damn, the colorscheme in the thumbnail made me think we were getting og pacific rim news.
>>7508888Checked, but I prefer the Ivan's take.
>>7509022So why the fuck is stranger danger abuse victim in the fucking thumbnail? Great, this movie is gonna be 90% about her, only the toys are worth a shit because he face is nowhere on the packaging.
>>7509035Millie Bobby Brown doesn't belong in these movies.
>>7509040nobody cares about your autistic hate-boner
>>7509044Then stop replying. Can you take your own advice?
>>7508888>>7508967They really scaled up Godzilla in these pics.
Anyone know if there are any similar parts to the adapter that comes with the SHMA Awakening Shin? I bought one from a seller and it showed up without the piece
>>7509202Adapter? What're you referring to?
>>7509417I'm really worried about whether those joints can support the weight of the neck and wings in the long term.I feel like this could either turn out to be the best figure they've ever done, or the biggest, most expensive flop of the entire line.
>>7509417I hope it's the lighting, but boy that looks very flat plastic-ey.
>>7509510Mmmmmmnnn.M-maybe it's an early sample?
>>7495060Horrible anime, neat monsters. Trigger deserves to go bankrupt long before that was greenlit.
Speaking of Gamera, are there any cheap vinyl figures for him like the Godzilla and Ultra 500 series?
>>7509525that one's from an earlier prototype photo
>shitty plastic look>bad paint job>can't even plant both feet flat on the ground>$180
>>7510874Still crooked jaw.
>>7510052Except for the ones that came out in late 90's-early 00's no, I don't think they will reissue them since it's pretty much a dead brand now Got pretty lucky to had pic related like ten years ago and he was cheap as fuck, don't know the prices know
Anyone know exactly what all Bandai Creations Godzilla figures have been reissued for King of the Monsters? So far in stores I've found Godzilla 2001, Godzilla 1954, MechaGodzilla, and Rainbow Mothra. I really just want my disgusting goop son for non-rape prices.
>>7510874I'm considering getting him for my birthday but the fear of disappointment that he'll turn into a QC nightmare is stopping me in my tracks. At least godzilla looks solid...
>>7510874Bandai really has given up, huh?
>>7511204At this point, I pity anyone who still trusts SH Monsterarts.
>>7511127I think those 4 are the only one so far.
>>7510874why did you post an image of Millie Bobby Brown?
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but is there even a sliver of a chance of mah boi greymon getting a figure? A fully articulate one without the digivolving or some other gimmick could look really good.
>>7512474make a custom
>>7511127There's a Ghidorah in that line too.
>>7491862That's still a 2/3 success ratio.
>>7511127You should check out the Japan release, I think it personally is much better as someone that owns it and compared it to the Bandai Creations release. I hear you on the prices, but if you are debating between a $60 BC Hedorah or $80 BJ Hedorah, I'd go with the Japan one anytime. They shouldn't cost that much though. I got mine for $35 I think a few years back. Good deals show up on occasions, like I saw Orga for $40 a few weeks back (which is pretty reasonable considering). To answer your question, so far I've seen the following Bandai Creation releases for the new movie:>1954 Godzilla (wide version)>2000 Godzilla>King Caesar>'74 MechaGodzilla>GMK Ghidorah>Rainbow MothraI think that's it. It's a shame they aren't re-releasing FW Gigan or Destroyah too.
>>7510874damn, he's going to be fragile as fuck. they already broke one of the wing spikes.
>>7512488I'll pay you to make a custom.
>>7510874>>7512426I'm still gonna buy him and I'm still going to regret it.
>>7512474https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32943225735.html?productSubject=Greymon-bootlegThis is all you're gonna get, you're not allowed to complain about 5POA

>>7514245SOMETHING FUNNY'S GOIN' ON!Y O U B E T T E R J A C K
I got NECA Shin Godzilla today, it's the first figure of theirs I've ever bought. I love the look of it, but it was a mess out of the box. The left shoulder was backwards and frozen in place with a glob of paint, and the left foot ended up on the other side of the box. It's pretty stiff in but I feel like the joints will loosen up with use. I'm mostly just happy to finally have a figure of this disgusting nightmare boy.>>7512998Yeah I've been looking into Japanese alternatives through ebay and Mandarake but the former tends to all be out of my price range, and the latter is always out of stock.
Did Jakks not make a Godzilla in scale with the big Ghidorah and Rodan?
I found the perfect example of how reddit is normie shit>nice new Godzilla figure........>shit walmart toys that get posted constantlyWooooow
>>7514893stop using reddit
>>7514894I would if y'all would actually post shit.>>7514611Of course not
>>7514902I m cleaning my room
>>7514893No one here is really talking about XPlus either though. On that note, I got fucked out of a decent priced 91 Shinjuku XPlus yet again this week. Once againa . fucking eBay seller claimed they had already sold the item elsewhere.
>>7514906Looked it up and it looks like they go for 400+, Good luck with that, you'll have better luck just praying for a 91 gigantic to get released and getting it for the same price
>>7514917You see it in the 250-350 range occasionally, which is reasonable. At the time a lot of XPlus figures were getting Diamond reissues which I wrongly bet on in this case, plus already having the 89 XPlus I was hesitant. I've grown to appreciate the 91 suit more since then.
>>7514893I found out how you're just a whiny cunt.
>>7514530I see a JP Hedorah up on eBay right now for an okay price as a heads (without the tag) as a heads up anon.
>>7514902>Of course not
Figure this is the place to ask since I got some noob questions. I don't collect much but I really want a monsterarts godzilla 1964. Anywhere to get this except ebay? And what's a decent price for one? Are monsterarts kaijus mostly the same size ratio so I can collect other kaiju than godzilla and the collection will look nice? Also I read about preorders and such, where do you guys preorder your stuff?Sorry if there was a sticky somewhere I missed I'm just mostly into godzilla and dabble in ultraman.
>>7515185>Anywhere to get this except ebay?I see them on Amazon (for a hefty markup). I think they sold for $60 MSRP.>And what's a decent price for one?Depends on how much you want to spend. I'm not a fan of Monsterarts (after owning one), but I know there are lots of fans on here that are. They've been getting higher in price lately, but usually Godzilla releases are usually ~$80 these days and other kaiju vary (~$60 to ~$200). I'd find out what the MSRP is and make decisions based off that too.>Are monsterarts kaijus mostly the same size ratio so I can collect other kaiju than godzilla and the collection will look nice?Yeah, they are in about the 6" range and I think scale pretty well to NECA and Bandai Movie Monster figures.>Also I read about preorders and such, where do you guys preorder your stuff? For me, it's AmiAmi or HobbyLink Japan. BBTS does pre-orders too but sometimes they have mark-ups for whatever reason.
>>7514611They did, five years ago.
>>7515185Do not buy Japanese figures on Ebay. You will overpay and the sellers are always absolute mongoloids. Learn how to use Mandarake. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1108782921&ref=list&keyword=godzilla%201964&lang=enhttps://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1109900167&ref=list&keyword=godzilla%201964&lang=en
>>7515195Nice thanks man. I'll check out other 1964s also I suppose since it looks like I'll be dropping some cash. What monsterarts didn't you like?
>>7515204Thanks will definately look into that!
>>7515204I haven't had any issues with ebay. The figure itself is typically more expensive than you can find on mandarake but the shipping is usually free.Of course, you have to be sure you're not buying from china but that's easily avoided.
>>75152062002 Godzilla. Mine had the eye issue like pic related. For a $80 figure with minimal paint, you'd imagine they'd at least make sure the few paint they did apply was correct. Ah well, that particular figure had other issues too that I luckily didn't get. That's what turned me off of them honestly since for a higher price I expect a higher standard, and major things like making sure the eyes aren't derpy should be part of the process. Some figures are notorious for QC issues and others are relatively safe. I think the 1968 was pretty safe from what I remember.
>>7515204Boy those prices are not gentle. I wish they'd reissue this. Then again knowing how the line is now they'd probably fuck it up.
>>7515256Yeah I have a few monsterarts that I love, namely Mothra, original Destoroyah, and Final Wars Gigan, that are just fucking perfect. No sloppy paint apps or loose limbs. But my one Godzilla, the 1995 version, has a lazy eye and loves to fall apart at the waist and left foot. I really wish Bandai would start giving a fuck about the line again.
>>7515256My 2002 turned out perfect, no eye issues at all. Guess I was one of the lucky ones.
>yesterday>go to Walmart looking for to see if they have LEGO 70841 Benny's Space Squad for the second time>get duped, they STILL didn't have it>feel downtrodden, turn around and walk down the aisle>out of the corner of my eye, see a large Godzilla figure from the newest movie>if they have figure from the new movie, would they have the reissues of the Bandai Creation monsters?>sure enough, they did>walk out of the store with a Godzilla 2000 figure>finally reunited a Bandai Creation Godzilla figure>FeelsGoodMan
>>7515256I want one to replace my Millennium Godzilla but I don't know how to go about it without buying it pre-owned + from somebody who can check it beforehand.
>>7515185Not sure on how you feel about NECA figures, but their Godzilla releases keep improving and they've basically confirmed on twitter their going to put out a 1964 Godzilla. It will definitely be bigger than the SHMA since the SHMA one is tiny as hell. I can't imagine the articulation would be that far off either. The SHMA will probably be better but not by a crazy amount I would imagine. Besides the weird split the SHMA can do, it didn't have that much range of motion compared to other SHMAs
>>7515327More like the only one.
>>7515430Definately interested now because of the hight. Checked out other NECA godzilla and they look pretty good. Any idea how long it could take from Twitter confirmation to when it comes out? And are there lots of kaiju in the 12"range?
>>7515403You'll have to roll the dice unfortunately. I bought a gundam marker for the purpose of repainting eyes if mine ever arrive with the issue.
>>7515748Nvm last question got confused looking at a statue at 12". Guessing posable figures don't come at this scale huh?
Is the Monsterarts 2002 Godzilla in stock anywhere? Or should I just wait and buy the KOTM version...
>>7516399It's not worth it. The SHMA line is incredibly overpriced for the poor quality you're getting. They don't even bother to paint the claws sometimes.
Does anyone know a good place get the older DefoReal Godzilla figures from? I dont normally collect anything like them but after buying pic related i'm hooked.I keep looking on Mandarake but they dont show up much or at all.
>>7516733I get mine from AwesomeCollector most of the time.
>>7516751damn, they have the one I want too, thanks. Just Emailed them to see if they ship international.
>>7516526>The SHMA line is incredibly overpriced for the poor quality you're getting. It wasn't always this way. QC has gotten pretty bad, though. I don't know how hard the 1962 Godzilla was hit by QC problems but that's only because its high price point turned me off ahead of time. It's strange considering that Figuarts and other higher-end Bandai figures don't suffer from these flubs the way Monsterarts do. I had always assumed there was a steep overlap in methodology and production between SHF and SHMA but perhaps not. At least NECA seems to be improving.
>>7515748We'll probably get a reveal on the 1964 Godzilla at comic con this summer with a release window
>>7516399Depending where you live, try checking your local hobby stores or anime retailers. That's how I got mine. Just don't overpay for him.As for KOTM Godzilla, he's relatively cheap right now and seems like a good upgrade over the 2014 one if you like the design.
>>7516881I'd like to think they've taken some of the complaints to heart and are slowly improving. The biggest letdown of the line was their Shin which was almost universally criticised for its QC issues. The subsequent releases haven't as bad I think.
>>7516994Shin's issue was paint. They fixed that in a second release. But since then we've gotten 2002 and King Kong Godzilla. 2002 has horrible head sculpt and bad eyes. King Kong Godzilla has unpainted claws.
>>7515327same, mine has pretty much perfect paint
>>7517632>They fixed that in a second releaseThey did not.
Do we have a release date for KotM Goji and/or Deforeal Hedorah?
>>7518344Sometime in may for godzilla.
>>7517632Nah they didn't. It's still not good.
>>7518344>>7518363G19 is 5/31. Check Tamashii.jp near the end of the month prior to the releases you are looking forward to, that's when they announce concrete dates.
>>7518363>>7518368Cool. I just saw an ad for HLJ saying it was coming out "soon". I'm just trying to make sure my orders are spaced out
>>7518384Well I'm sold!
>>7518416at 0 yen, it'll be my first monsterarts.
>>7517428That's dope as fuck, is that N scale? Been thinking of picking some buildings up and this just makes me want them more
>>7518502>is that N scale?Yes. Building an N scale city is expensive though so watch out before you get sucked in.
so who's ready for Monsterarts "the next phase" supposed to start May 25th. Whatever that means.
>>7520779Gimme more Showa and Millenium monsters and I'll give a damn. Hell give me even a barely articulated pic related and I'll give them all my money.
>>7520779Unless that next phase comes without repaints and no quality issues, count me out.
>>7520779Where are they reporting this?
Went to my local Target for the first time in a while, and their NECA section was actuallu chock full of good shit for once.Picked this guy up. Damn, he's hefty. Tail is heavier than the figure so you can't do any poses with his tail fully off the ground or it'll pull him backwards. So is it just me or is this guy not articulated very well? I can barely move his thighs, but it could just be some joints that need to be loosened. But overall I really like him.
>>7520959He'll move well enough, he's just a chunky boy.
>>7520959Yeah, none of NECA's Godzillas are particularly super-posable. The hips in particular are pretty tough to move at first on this one, but once you free them up a bit you should be able to get some decent poses out of him. I should also note that the plastic around his elbows and knees is soft enough that you might be able to push them a bit further for a bit more range, but you'll have to be careful about damaging some of the details around the joints there if you do that.
>>7519434I've been building my own, but they aren't that great.
>>7520959I've only got their Shin figure and it had some similar issues. Nearly every joint needed to loosened up and some were twisted around and jammed in out of the box. The biggest issue I have with it is that the sculpt won't allow it to be posed standing straight, and the weird W shape of the tail sculpt means it can't pull off the creepy, snake-like S curve he's always pictured with.
>>7521004Forgot my pic.
>>7520969Damn brother my G's thighs CANNOT move out that far at all. Any tips on getting em loosened enough for that?>>7521015I have the atomic blasy version and I still have no clue why they made the tails for shin so retarded
What's the best monsterarts Godzilla? If I can only get one ever, is GMK a good choice? Which is your favorite?
>>7521048I'm new to the line myself but I'm gonna limit myself to two (for the sake of my wallet).2002 for Japanese Goji (mine turned out great), KOTM for American Goji (fingers crossed).
>>7518502>is that N scale? it is
>>7517428>>7520976>>7521358how do i go about building these? are you guys building it from scratch? are there pre-made templates or even sets manufactured/sold like gunpla? I just started gunpla and wouldn't mind trying to make some for my kaiju SHM/SHFs. Also, what is N Scale?
>>7521373Look at Tomytec N scale buildings on Amiami, there are tons. N Scale ranges between 1/148 to 1/160, I believe the Tomytec are listed at around 1/150.They are prepainted kits that mostly slot together and hold by friction, a dab of superglue in some parts help hold parts better. Really nice buildings, work well with HG/RD Gundam figures too.
>>75210482002 is my favorite, bit they all have fucked up paint. Anyone saying otherwise is lying.
>>7521373I'm the one with the shin godzilla. I build mine with foam core and elmer's glue. I cut out walls then measure out a pattern for the windows and cut out the window shapes, and use pins to hold the pieces together while the glue dries when I assemble them, then I cut out a piece to glue to the top to make the roof.Obviously if I want to make a damaged building, I just cut the walls at a jagged angle instead of doing a clean full wall, but then I have to cut pieces each individual floor too.I think N-scale come in both preassembled and unassembled packs, but from my research, even preassembled pieces need some work to look exceptionally good.
>>7517428>>7518502I've been wanting to do this too. but my issue is not having enough space and it taking a while to construct a deep cityscape as well as how much money I'd have to invest. But I think it'd be fun for my few kaiju and also pretending my moe girls have gotten big.
I guess this might be helpful.https://www.kaijuaddicts.com/building-city-environments-x-plus-vinyls-n-scale-buildings/
Monsterarts/Neca Baloney when??
Godzilla 1998 monsterarts please
>>7520969How im god's name did you do thatI jusy tried with mine and I can't do it
Found this little 4-inch Bandai Spacegodzilla at a Value Village in a bag of generic dino toys. The paint's a little scuffed up in a couple places but otherwise he's in good condition.
So I ordered a month ago the KOTM figures on Hobbylink, so far only Rodan and Mothra are paidI was waiting for Godzilla and King G, and now I see that the orders stopped on the site but they're still in my orders, will I get them or not ?
>>7490655What's the biggest Rodan they're making? I saw a tiny carded one for $10 and then one in a box with a mini broken building for $15. That one had moving legs and hinged wings/head. Is that the biggest?
>>7527091You mean the MMS? Bandai pretty much gipped everyone on stock. I had mine on preorder at HLJ for even longer (2 months) and still it went into backorder.I eventually gave up and grabbed them from amiami. Glad I did since they're sold out now too.
>>7515354what line is this??? new to godzilla collecting
>>7527145Then you will probably appreciate this site here. Lists releases by year etc. https://godzilla.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Toy_Lines
>>7527132Goddamnit, I'm gonna wait a little more and then ship what they have in stock but it's infuriating
Amazing what a custom paint job can do.
>>7525400Different guy here,I soaked my NECA 62 in warm water for like 15 minutes as soon as i got him out of the box.
So, Europefag here and samefag as >>7527091MMS are on amazon but pic related is like 33 euros and Ghidorah is like 40. I'm kinda tempted to take them (money isn't an issue but still) BUT it pisses me off that I ordered them on hobbylink almost 2 months ago and they stopped the orders, so is it best to wait for potential re-stock or I'm doomed to buy them at scalpers prices ?
>>7527493I'd just wait at this point. There's no reason to pay over rrp for these.
>>7527337I only heated it up for like, a minute or so, that was enough for me.
>>7527337What King Kong is that??
>>7528061It's a custom he made.
>>7491862Where can I get a decent figure of zilla, I really like his design.
>>7527493They are not worth that high a price. Best to wait. They should restock. Honestly I like them but nothing to write home about. Mothra is especially underwhelming. No idea why they made her so, so tiny.
So... what building scales go well with SHMA Godzilla 94 and other similar sizes? I want to build at least a small diorama but I'm new at this stuff.
>we will never get good G14 figureswhy live
>>7528407>we will never get good figures of obscure showa kaiju
>>7528361DiegoDoom did a pretty good video yesterday about action figure scale buildings for kaiju and Ultraman stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9AHzNzqcWU&t=0s
Bandai Tamashii Nations S.H. Monster Arts Biollante Action Figure https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DPZRS4I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HVx0Cb6BWN0FD2 left
>>7527337Did you cut up a vinyl figure for that kong?
>>7527238>>7528808I think this is the guy. Looks like he did some mods to the necks.https://youtube.com/watch?v=siICSg_RObQ
>>7528824He's right. The heads need to be asymmetricalGhidorah never keeps his heads in a row, he's always snaking aroundI hope the new movie keeps him in fluid motion
>>7528824If I didn't hate being alive and dread all physical activity I might try that myself. Very impressive.
>>7527238How do I learn this power?
>>7528492>Look around>Super Weapons Pack and effects are up to 190 USWell, shit, guess I need a new job before I can make my diorama a reality. My fault for being born in fucking SouthAmerica, I guess.
>>7529057All of us need jobs to throw that kind of money around. Europe here.
>>7529057Godzilla and kong stuff creep astronomically so if you didnt know about it beforehand don't bother and just wait for a renewal or some miracle in Mandarake.
>>7528361I use some buildings from Monsterpocalypse.
>>7529017>I hope the new movie keeps him in fluid motionSupposedly each head is mocapped by different actors to give them individual personality. We'll see if that's true.
>>7529173Dougherty seems to care about visuals more than the 2014 director, so maybe it will work out. I'm optimistic.
>>7528824Not the same guy, the first one is from a Jap buddy of mine from Twitter. Japanese just love doing customs on mediocre figures.
>>7529038Not from a jedi
>>7528792What was the original price for this? The only price ranges I have seen from 2016 to now are $500-$2,000. Monsterarts Scalpers must sniff glue.
>>7527238>>7529038Do these guys take commissions? I'd rather pay someone $50 for a premium paint job than $500 for one of Bandai's clumsy, overpriced exclusives.
>>7528792>>7529811Biollante launched at 225 dollars, not including whatever shipping costs get thrown in. According to ebay she regularly sells at roughly 700 bucks, which all things considered means Amazon's price is not total rape-tier.https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=monsterarts+biollante&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1So you could get her for as low as 500 but it's unlikely.
>>7530435No monsterart has ever been worth that much.
>>7530490That's what people are paying anon.
Managed to snag a 2006 Movie Monsters Hedorah vinyl off Mandarake for 5000 yen. I skimped on the shipping but god I can't wait for it to show up.
I'm hoping we get more chibi or SD figures from the KotM movie. Maybe a figure set with the 17 titans/kaiju from the movie. Wishful thinking on my part.>>7532503Are you the same anon above that was looking for one? Congrats either way! Thats a fair price.
>>7532621Caught me, I almost pulled the trigger on one for around $70 on ebay but this popped up just in time.Speaking of chibi kaiju I thought about grabbing the old Muto and 2014 Godzilla set to go with my Mothra, Gigan, Ghidorah, and Destoroyah but the damn things are being scalped for over $400 now.
Neca G19 is out and by the looks of it they fucked up the paintjob.
>>7533144Where's this from? Was he green in the promo pics?
>>7533145Some random yt review, and no, he was greyish with matte finish and look at it now it's as if he was smeared with shit.It certainly is a downgrade from their '62 goji
>>7533145i think the green you're seeing is a reflection off of something just off screen
>>7533144I'm interested to see how the monsterarts stacks in comparison.
>>7533154No another review I have seen has bits of green, I wonder in this movie if Godzilla has slight moss growing upon him
>>7533150You have to take into account the guy is using some really harsh lighting on his video. It's just making the wash stand out more than it typically will in person.Figure looks great though, hoping I see it soon. Very curious about how it feels.
>>7533144Shipping date's not until May 13. Did they say where they got it?
>>7533345They got theirs on Amazon, but some folks are claiming Target has them already.
>>7533352I just saw it on Amazon so I went ahead and got it. Sold directly by NECA.But I can guarantee I'll go to Target after work tonight and see it on the shelf because that's what always happens.
>>7530100I don't think they'll do it for money, Japanese do this stuff for fun and that nihongo drive to master their skills and shitNow he's done Jakks Pacific Rodanhttps://twitter.com/sarutajira/status/1126851085623160834
>>7533502Yes, that's Godzilla. Very good anon.
>>7516780Just found out these figures existed, their king Kong looks really cool to.Apparently they do international shipping.
>>7532651>scalpedYou can't scalp old toys. That's market value. Not scalping.
>>7533352I've seen pictures of it on Target shelves on IG and Twitter.
Here’s a custom MA Godzilla 2014 I did recently, resculpt on the head to improve accuracy, and repainted with the burning scheme. Posted in the buy/sell/trade general if anyone is interested
>>7527156so, the godzilla creation toys are still available? I went to Walmart last night and just saw the new movie Rodan. don't really care much for it desu, but that creation set sounds badass. that's still around?
>>7534346Select Bandai Creations figures have been brought out of retirement for both Godzilla 2014 and King of the Monsters now. Most Walmarts and Targets have them. You're mostly gonna see everything in pic related as well as MireGoji and I think I've heard of stores getting King Caesar too.
>>7529123>>7529167Yeah, I'll keep my eyes peeled and build his block bit by bit.>>7529170Noted.
>>7533502Ugh.. fingers crossed the MA will be better..
>>7514902just pre-ordered that figure lol
>>7514893>poor fags are normienah
>>7495060Another one just got announced
>>7495060Oh man I don't know how I missed this, goddamn that thing looks gorgeous.
2019 Godzilla is great, movement is limited, but that's going to be obvious. Great figure though, very happy with him.
>>7536583But yeah, I like him very much.
Just waiting for Mothra And Rodan to release now.... And Monsterarts KG of course.
>>7536583Freaked me out for a sec, anon. I thought I might have missed my payment again. Really hoping my first SHM doesn't have the infamous eyes
I can't wait until I graduate college, get a job with a good salary, and can finally afford to get an X-Plus 11 inch figure, specifically the new 2002 Godzilla one. I want it but I can't afford it yet.
>>7537511Sell some nut or plasma anon. The longer you wait the more that pricetag is gonna creep upwards.
My Wal-Mart got in the Jakks figures, but I didn't see anything for the Movie Monster series. I'm certain I still have a lot of those back home from when I was a lad, but it'd be nice to buy replacements for the ones that got chewed on or ran over. Pic unrelated.
>>7533144>>7536583How does the new Neca Godzilla compare to their G'14?Aside from the tail and new spikes is there an difference? did they bother to update the articulation at all?
>>7538010Just the hands by making them hinges. Other than that not reallyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OJi4dN1cbU
Some mothra package pics. It turns out the larva was never meant to be included and was shown by 'accident' at toyfair.
There's no way they didn't know the picture of the larva was part of the listing. They probably left it up since they figured it would help proerders
>>7538264How fucking retarded do you have to be to believe this 9-11 conspiracy type bullshit?
Newfag here. Does NECA release everything in 12" and 6" scale? If not, do at least one of the scales have every monster they've put out?
>>7538139Hey Steven, your videos suck. Learn 2 light your figures, faggot.
>>75383576" scale has everything, they did that giant ass 2014 Godzilla, and that's been the only large ass Godzilla they've done so far.
>>7538362Oh, you know what, the eBay listings I was looking at named them all "12" Head to Tail" and I misread them. Please excuse my mental deficiency.
>>7538368It's all good, it's confusing labeling, admittedly.
>>7538240Then how the fuck are they going to sell the goddamn larva?
>>7538139Hey Steven, your videos rock, learn to make them EVEN better!
>>7538139Your videos blow. Your style of reviews is probably one of the worst, your attempt at humor sucks, your whining about every thing and your lack of actual knowledge about figures and some of the properties is just embarrassing.
>>7538697^^^^^^^^^ cringe af post mate lol
>>7538804Maybe get a real job Steve, Jobby's better than you are.
>>753836812'' head to tail = 6'' tallAlso, the big ass one scales perfectly with their PR stuff
>>7538697>your whining about every thingWhy don't you just watch paid advertisements instead of reviews if you don't want people criticizing shit?
>>7539751Why don't you get better at reviewing instead of being a 4chan putz? You fucking suck Steve.
Bluefin put up some release samples of the big guy on their FB.
>dead eyes and gamera tier upper jaw
>>7540137The teeth are pretty ass but the eyes look great
>>7540137Oh, well that looks terrible.
now that we're at it, what would be the ideal kind of paint to fix stuff like >>7540137 and those small chips of paint that happen when you move a joint too much?
>>7540097Its cool and all he can do that, but the body clearly was not engineered with that pose in mind. Looks awkward as fuck.
>>7538630I don't remember what exactly was said but I do remember Randy entertaining the idea of more accessory sets for properties they have, such as Godzilla in a toyfair interview, so there's that.Or it wasn't actually an accident, but they had to cut them out for some dumb reason and didn't want to say
>>7540218Okay. That's fine.
