This series seems pretty mediocre. Does it get better after the first couple of episodes?
Anyway there is that Priss Figma coming out eventually.
>>
>>7448256
It peaks around OVA 6 and you can skip the last two desu.
>>
>>7448256
Storys frankly all over the place. Its stengths lies in it being peak late 80s sci fi mechanophile aesthetic with Sonoda girls but if thats not your thing, BGC won't be anything special for you.
>>
>>7448256
Most of those 80s sci-fi shows and manga are. They're very pulpy and it occasionally allows for some interesting ideas or takes on other concepts but most of them are mediocre to shit. That's just what happens when you give a lot of freedom to creators.
>>
>>7448259
>>7448275
Noted. Maybe I have just seen too many great things from the period it was released but I am not sure I get the hype.
>>7448279
I mean there is a lot of great pulply sci-fi from the late 70's to early 90's (Gunm, Guyver, Cobra, ect.) and there is nothing wrong with an anime or manga just being stupid fun but this one seems kind of generic and dull with a few decent but not exceptional power suit designs. Does the action at least pick up after the first OVA?
>>
>>7448292
Id put it in the same category of enjoyable as the other anime you mentioned. Aside from Cobra, Cobras got the classic adventure vibe going for it too so its in its own class of great anime.

BGC has got great setpieces and visceral action awaiting you. Various biomechanical monstrosities with md geist esque stages of transformation going around gibbing police officers and dancing with the badass array of beam cutters, flechette launchers, transforming combat bikes and explosive punches of the main hardsuits. Awesome vtol aircraft or walking tanks designs will make appearances too to prevent mecha fatigue.
>>
>>7448259
But Double Vision was my favorite =(
>>
>>7448256
>>7448275
>>7448292
>>7448331

It's main draw was the music. Each OVA/episode had its own soundtrack album. I used to listen to them all all of the time. Now I just listen to the collected hits volume. But 3-4 original songs per episode is generally unprecedented.
>>
>>7448381
Youre absolutely right but fast forward to now and sadly people dont appreciate that sort of 80s pop/ rock anymore. Even I merely appreciate it rather than outright like it.
>>
Keen for the Priss figma when/if that ever happens.

I was big into the BGC Tokyo 2040 series when that was a thing, I'd totally buy the hardsuits from that if they got modern toys but I'd wager you could count the number of people who still care about 2040 on one hand these days.

I found two of the Yamato ones on ebay for $100 each and I would have leapt on them if i had money. I've never seen the show but the designs of the hard suits and bike mecha are really cool to me

>>
>>7448913
go ask /m/ about the priss webm
>>
>>7448974
How are those larger figures? I prefer the original hardsuits, but the figures themselves look like more fun than the Yamato ones, especially since they have the additional faces.
>>
>>7448248
Excellent taste my man. I really hope Priss comes out well and we get the full team. And if we're really lucky maybe a Boomer?
>>
>>7449037
They are phenomenal for such old figures and the size really makes them feel more worth the price compared to the tiny Yamatos. The helmetless heads are pretty bad though.
>>
>>7449078
All I really want is each of them in normal clothes, but I know we won't get that. I do hope the figma comes with an extra helmetless head at least.
>>
>>7448453

Im still with you pal.

Revenge Road is a great standalone episode

AD police files was better overall but it's like 1/5 the length of BGC
>>
>>7449145
2040 Nene a cute
>>
>>7449178
it is too bad she is the only one. All the other designs look less inviting to me.

She is, but she lacks FLOOF

2040 Priss is still my forever waifu
>>
>>7449188
Original Priss could take her...
and probably use a pipe.
- but she would feel sad while doing so.
>>
>>7448974
These are great.
I woudl love (but will never see)
1:18 hardsuiits and civvie figures.
- unless 3d printing becomes a lot cheaper, with finer detailing and fun and easy to use software.
>>
>>7449188
so many split ends
>>
>>7449261
Original Priss would spend most of the episode crying about her lesbot crush and then getting smacked around by Brian J Mason. I mean Largo.
>>
There is a significant lack of toys here, post some pics people. Anyone have the Yamato A.D. Police/Boomer set?
>>
2040 fans plz go. This is a thread for good anime series!

Lesbot crush? I just watched this episode the other day and I don't understand where people get that lesbian slant from. Priss clearly liked her because she was the only person that actually gelled with her and wanted to do the things that she did for fun. It was like her first actual friend in the series and the only person she actually talks to when she's not doing KS business. Outside of that, she's only ever around the other Knight Sabers and you can clearly tell that she only sees them as co-workers at best.
>>
>>7450335
Autistic shut in men who think they are lesbian think this.
>>
>>7448618
Any news?

I can't wait to buy 7
>>

God I hope she sells well enough to release the others.

I'll buy 7 as well!
And once I pick the one with the least amount of defects out, I'll gift the rest to the homeless people that panhandle on my way to work and have been "dieing of cancer" for the last three years!

>>7450798
Very carefully. If anything, the Aoshima hardsuit is even harder to stand because its center of gravity is higher.
>>
>>7450593
Man crash is truly mediocre. Still a great looking ova but continuity and character consistency went straight out of the fucking window.
>>
>>7450806
The fact that Motoslave transforms only makes me more upset it has no scale.

Even worse, it's a partsformer: the frame of the bike is supposed to fold in half during the transformation, but this kit has separate pieces for the folded and unfolded versions. I don't think it would be possible to make this work in a toy unless the frame was actually made of metal. I hope the figma will have better engineering, but maybe working out the engineering challenges is the reason why it's taking so long to be released.
>>
>>7451500
How inaccurate, Priss' hardsuit never had a regular right hand. Pffft.
>>
>>7451758
2040 fixes that mistake
>>
>>7450746
I won't be giving any of mine away:
1 posed riding bike form motoslave
1 with motoslave transformed
1 with her inside the motoslave
1 mint in box displaying front of box
1 mint in box displaying back of box
1 to play with/change pose of for pictures
1 extra If anything happens to one of the others.
>>
>>7451779
Which one will you use to rub against your dick?
>>
>>7448256
Priss figma?
>>
>>7451758
It's s part you swap out so that she can hold the handlebars.

>>7451761
In 2040, all of the hardsuits had waldo claws on both hands, probably so that they can extend the TV budget by reusing mirrored stock footage.

>>7451826
This is the prototype: >>7448618

Hello I love Bubblegum Crisis too
I am happy here
>>
>>7449762
I don't have them, but weren't they really hard to find originally? They'd only be of interest to people who already own the Yamato hardsuits.
>>
>>7454094
But it's an articulated Boomer, I think anyone would want that. Look at it.

>>7454286
I don't want it because I've got the Atelier Sai hardsuits and it isn't the right scale. I have grandiose dreams of customizing the NECA Crysis nanosuit into a Boomer.
>>
>>7454306
I never made that connection. Even painting it metallic blue and giving it a skull shaped head would be passable.
>>
>>7454306
Well no one should want the Atelier Sai figures since they are based on the forgettable reboot
>>
>>7454881
You clearly don't know your stuff. The atelier sai figures are the designs used in the last episode of the original series.
>>
>>7455083
Sorry but the original series ended on OVA 6 so you clearly don't know YOUR stuff and technically OVAs aren't episodes but I wouldnt expect someone born after the 90s to know any better.
>>
>>7455093
Weak bait.
>>
>>7455093
So "episodes" 7 and 8 don't exist then? Just how stupid are you? Anyway, I have better things to do than argue this with someone who is clearly beyond hope.
