what’s your favorite movie about toys
>>
There's only one right answer.
>>
>>7447030
This, any other answer is void
>>
>>7447030
>>7447039
I’ve heard that it’s so good
thanks
>>
>>7447045
Are you telling me you haven’t seen small soldiers yet?
>>
>>7447030
I was going to say Toy Story, but you're right, Small Soldiers is better. I apologise for even considering otherwise.
>>
>>7447030
I wish I could find my Archer figure.
>>
>>7447046
To be rectified
liked Blade Runner’s toy scenes the best so far
assumed it was the best toy movie

It's a fucking bizarre trainwreck of a movie, but I've watched it every damned Christmas for over a quarter of a century now.
>>
>>7447060
I’m a big fan too
Robin RIP was a human toy
and that’s meant in the best possible way
still shaken by his death
>>
>>7447060
Jingle all the Way is also I yearly watch for me.

shame about the sequel
>>
>>7447030
Small Soldiers absolutely terrified me as a kid so I'll just say that Toy Story 2 is my favourite film about toys, even if THAT Jessie scene fucking kills me inside.
>>
There's like 4 movies about toys

-OP
-Toy Story 3
-Willie Wonka
-Chucky

Thread, useless
>>
>>7447121
>Willy Wonka
Willy Wonka is ck’s favorite movie not toy’s
>>
This one is my favorite. It was a G.I. Joe kid done right.
>>
>>7447147
now this looks seriously good,
thank you
>>
>>7447030
this. or Indian in the Cupboard.

>>7447018
I don't recall liking Toys as a kid. I should give it re-watch.

>>7447060
Haven't seen/heard of this one before. I should look it up.

>>7447086
Jinkle all they Way is a fun one too.

>>7447109
Of course this one and pretty much every LEGO movie. Ninjago is underrated, I think.

and of course the Toy Story trilogy, I love. I suspect 4 will not be as good and will probably ruin the tightness of the franchise, but I'll give it a shot.
>>
>>7447030
Was bored to death by this movie when I was a kid. Haven't even given a second watch.

how does Willy Wonka relate to toys?
>>

its alright but id rather watch 1.5 hours of lego stop motion on youtube
>>

Love Robin Williams
Love early-90s Tori Amos
Love the sets
>>
>>7447030
>>7447109
These and the Toy Story films. Every other movie about toys I have seen has been pretty bad. I could swear there was a Japanese movie about a doll or something that I watched years ago that was good but I can't remember it so I might just be misremembering parts of Paranoia Agent or something.
>>
>>7447176
Agreed
if I may be so bold, Robin and Jonathan Winters we’re human toys:

I recall a late 80's/90's flick about a toy that got installed with a military AI and learned to upgrade itself. Was killing people with ball bearings it fired toward the end. Wish I could remember the name. Anyone?

liked the first one, second one, and the puppets themselves (actor of andre toulon was excellent too) He played basically the same character in Dolls (1987) and was wonderful there too.
HOWEVER: a love of cheese and bad horrormovies is basically required for these.

>>7447329
This movie was unsalvageable thrash though, don't believe the hype.

>>7447030
I was very surprised by just how much i liked this movie when i rewatched it a year or two ago. Really fun, nostalgic and had some attitude compared to Toystory. I'm sure they were compared a lot back in the day but they're a completely different beast in my book.

>>7447060
What movie is this? Googled the filename but can't find anything.

Also: quintessential toy childrenliterature about toys if anyone is interested. I loved his sneakers and the story made me feel less scared of clowns.
>>
>>7447150
It’s not a /toy/ movie any more than What’s Eating Gilbert Grape is a /ck/ movie
>>
>>7447208
first 2 were decent, at parts even great.

After that the series just fucking went off every cliff imaginable.
I remember one of the movies being just literally a clipshow of the old movies.
>>
Not a "toy movie", but when I read movie+toy I always think of Big and how much I want that fucking building bot.

Yeah, it's the 1992 movie TOYS. It's fucking insane - great costume design, music and casting, but takes place in a world where most toys are still 1920's wooden/tin toys and there are some wildly adult jokes for a colorful, supposedly kid-friendly about how joy and innocence prevails over evil Dumbledore taking over a toy factory.
>>

>and of course the Toy Story trilogy, I love. I suspect 4 will not be as good and will probably ruin the tightness of the franchise, but I'll give it a shot.
Here's the thing with that: I thought it was a bad idea to make Toy Story 2. They proved me wrong. I thought it was a bad idea to make Toy Story 3. They proved me wrong.

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt, they've earned it.
>>
>>7447591
Naa, the third one was great too, possibly the best. The first one was actually significantly worse than 2 and 3. 4/5 were okayish rentals, but definitely a downturn for the franchise.

You're thinking of Curse of the Puppet Master or whatever. That is dog shit, it was made after 5. Essentially the way the story goes is that Full Moon had a deal with a big movie studio who would give them money to make their direct-to-video movies, which made a good return as rentals. When the direct-to-video rental market started to dry up, the deal was severed and Full Moon went to shit, it's been shit ever since.

>>7447018
I feel like I'm going to slap my forehead in an hour when I remember some obscure 90's movie that has a toy theme but for now I'll say The LEGO Movie.
