The only doll worth getting from the new career lineup imo.
They should just make an Ariana Grande doll already.

I know this is not help but I had this manhattan toy doll when I was young that my dad got rid of
she had this green or purple checkered dress and would at least be pre 2005 at least
anyone have any clue the exact doll I am talking about I've been through pages and pages of ebay with no luck and I can't member her hair color just that it was long and yarn-ey

>I've been through pages and pages of ebay with no luck

I know how you feel, anon.
I spent nine years searching ebay, google, and any other site with a search engine trying to find a very memorable toy from my childhood. I thought I'd never find it. I must have tried thousands of key word combinations for almost ten years, but nothing ever came up. last year I finally bumped into an image of it while doing one of my many google images searches for it , and found it on someones blog. It was the happiest moment I had had in almost a full decade. I found it on ebay, but the only one for sale was listed at $600 so I can't even buy it. Still it was nice to at least see an image of it again, and know what it's called.

My advice to you is to never stop looking for it if it really means something to you. It might take you years to find it, but hopefully it wont take you as long as it did me.
>>
>>7427672
>I still have her
I remember Vitamin C. She was way older than she looked when she made it big. She tried passing for one of the many teen pop stars of the last 90s, but she was actually in her 30s. She's so old she played a teenager in the original 80s Hairspray movie.

I was really happy to find all three of them. I was going to buy Ralph back in 2012, but he was $50, and so was Vanellope von Schweetz, but I only had enough for Vanellope.

The Animator Kristoffs were retired, and put on clearance for $12 last month at my Disney Store. I was going to buy him, but I only had enough for the Ariel/Eric Wedding set, and the new Animator Cinderella doll.

A doll with 3D glasses, and gray hair? I am a major 3D enthusiast which is the main reason I got stuck with a now worthless 3D tv.

Is her hair gray because she represents an old woman or is she sick? My hair started turning gray at the age of seventeen for some reason. If shes not a grandma doll I might get her.

That's disappointing. Speaking of blue haired dolls I keep bumping into this Fashionista Unicorn Magic doll. Shes the only fashionista I'm always tempted to buy. I like her tinsel hair, outfit, and skin tone. She ties her shirt in a not just like Britney Spears use to do in the late 90s/ early 2000s.
>>
>>7428490
>not
Meant to say knot

Only things I don't like about her is her stiff body, and her nose. I wish they would have given her a smaller cute pixie nose.
>>
>>7428493
Something about that head mold looks too big for the body. Her outfit is really cute, though.
>>
LE Aurora doll gets released on the 16th in the US this month. Does anyone know if shes going to be sold at the normal $120 price point or has the price gone up?
>>
>>7428545
The only down side to this doll that I know of right now is that they have removed her ankle joints. Not sure if it was done to save money or because of the black string attached to her shoes.
>>
>>7428150
It's like yellow-orange, more leaning towards orange. Kind of like the outside of a clementine, if that helps...?
>>7428240
I'm not sure how big of a deal she ended up being hahaha, I got the doll at an overstock store in 2001 or so.

Is that a new hip/leg design? The hips look different to the 2012 classic dolls that had the knees that looked like that. Should I get my hopes up for better leg articulation on the classic dolls?
>>
>>7428395
I actually painted those 3DS glasses. They were just plain white from an accessory pack. I also wish her hair was grey but it's a very light blue.

>>7428148
I wasn't too interested in Barbie after a certain age and I'm probably younger than a lot of anon here. A couple of years ago I started buying Licca/Jenny dolls and then slowly came back around to 80's Barbie and now Fashionistas.
I don't know jack shit about vintage Barbies.
>>
>>7428681
I don't think so. The legs on those bodies fan out like crazy.
>>
>>7427017
Better than most current barbies, which doesn't say much...her outfit is dull and cheap as usual (the skirt is nice). The microphone and it's stand looks nice.

>>7427653
>>7428493
There's something really cheap and flat about the new face printing style...almost knockoff like.
>>
>>7428363
I almost missed it.

Ree
>>
What is the best method to removing heads off fashionista dolls and putting them on posable bodies without breaking that neck joint?
I've tried bagging the head and soaking in hot water but that doesn't work well for me.
>>
>>7428863
Use a hair dryer on hot to head up the head, then just pop it off. Much easier and less messy than boil & pop.
>>
>>7428863
I use a hair dryer and a nutcracker pick to maneuver the head off. If you're not giving the doll to a little kid, you might as well cut the prongs off the neck peg.
>>
>>7428863
Are you twisting the head while you pull it? That's the only thing that has ever broken the peg for me.

Honestly with Mattel's new CEO's push to be a IP-driven company and commercialize the brands they own, not just in the toy sector but through movies and TV and videogames etc. it's totally going to come back sooner rather than later.

The logo was prominent on the big entrance sign at Toy Fair and in the slideshow for their last few investor calls.

They announced recently they're developing something like 22 TV shows based on owned properties, I would not be at all surprised if MH was among them.
>>
>>7430278
Like at first I thought they just put MH on there to beef up the graphic. But every other brand pictured is an active toy line and there's plenty of legacy stuff they could have put on there, especially with the MOTU movie back in conversation.

Dunno why you'd want to change her peg leg since it's fucking awesome looking, but the leg can pop off and be replaced, colors might not match perfect but I've seen someone use a Skelita leg which still looks cool for a ghost pirate

>>
>>7430278

These images are interesting as it shows what Matty's mindset and the toy industry focus is these days. As another anon pointed out, there's no He-Man, even with the rumored movie in production. There's also no WWE or Jurassic Park despite these lines selling very well. However, there are dead lines shown, such as MH and Enchantimals. There's also lines nobody cares about that will be gone within a year. Most notably Poparoos and Lil' Gleemers.

So why is that? The answer is in the headline. "One of the strongest portfolios of children's & family entertainment franchises in the world." Matty is focusing on their very young children & soccer mom approved lines for their PR. That's why slightly edgy, aggressive (But good selling) lines like JP and WWE are not on these pictures. Mattel is focusing on their strengths, not weaknesses. Hasbro has the boy's market covered with SW, Marvel, TF, Nerf, etc. Mattel has a HUGE impact in the girl's market with Barbie alone. They're also strong with the young toys market with Fisher-Price, Imaginext, Little People, etc. When presenting to investors & stock holders, they're not going to show their failures, such as the loss of the DC & Disney Princess license. They're going to show what they're good at.

INB4 >"Why is MH shown in those pictures when it's a dead line?"
MH was Mattel's biggest non-licensed IP hit since He-Man in 80's. The mega money it made is still fresh in the minds of investors. The MH goldmine may be exhausted, but it was definitely not a failure. Again, they're focusing on their strengths, which includes coming up with legacy toylines.

WWE and Jurassic Park aren't on there because Mattel doesn't own them. The slides accompanied talks from Ynon about how Mattel would commercialize the properties they own outside of toys.

Here's the equivalent licensee slide.
>>
>>7431286
>WWE and Jurassic Park aren't on there because Mattel doesn't own them

So why is Bob the Builder and Thomas are on the first slides?
>>
>>7431598
They own Thomas & Friends licensing. Bob the Builder isn't on that slide.
>>
>>7431286
MOTU is also a total mess thanks to Dreamworks owning the cartoon and old Filmation stuff requiring a license, the main toys now being made by Super7 and the only retail presence now being Mega, which could very well tank with that $250 castle grayskull set if that doesn't sell well.
>>
>>7431598
Because Mattel bought Hit Entertainment, the owner of both of those brands, back in 2012.
>>
>>7430939

I think what you are picking up on are the large childlike eyes. Disney princesses are given large childlike eyes in order to make them more beautiful and less creepy.

If you were to give a Disney princess actual adult sized eyes they not only become way less attractive, but fall into the creepy realm of the uncanny valley.

>>7428381

That's borderline creepy.

>Ariel
Bad Tezuka~weeb character design in which her mouth is disconnected from the rest of her face.

Anna and Rapunzel actually looks better in the edit than the original bad rendition of 2D bug eyes to 3D.

Aurora eyes are tad bit bigger than usual, but the shape of her face is very sharp and narrow, in other words adult looking.

>>

Same, honestly.

If there aren't any new rumors from D23, how's about a conversation starter... Did anyone have any of the Barbie playsets or furniture growing up? I had the McDonald's playset (I've always been really into cooking, but unfortunately 4-year-old me didn't realize McDick's didn't serve the type of cakes and "fancy cheese" I'd make out of Play-Doh) and a bunch of 1960s through 1980s doll furniture from my older cousins, some of which had belonged to my mom and aunts as children. There was a dining set, a bedroom set, a couch...even tiny plates and utensils! Like Rement size, but this was the early 90s so I'm not sure that Rement existed yet.
Funny thing is about that furniture, I passed it on to the daughter of one of those older cousins when I was in high school. That stuff is gonna stay on my mom's side of the family, passed around, until like the year 3000...
Never had any of the Barbie dream houses, or any of the cars, or anything else like that, though. I had some wealthy relatives on my father's side of the family, and every time my family visited, my cousins and I would end up playing with their literal fucking Barbie CITY. They were lucky lucky lucky girls. ;_;

I did hang onto a case and the Susy Goose furniture my mother had saved from her own childhood, though.

I bought a big lot of doll things from a random off a classifieds website a few weeks ago, and while sorting through it all was pleasantly surprised to find that it contained the majority of the pieces of this lovely garden set. All of the little flowers and everything, just missing the teapot and cups. It's so sweet, I think my favourite part is the birdhouse and little birds.
>>
>>7455642
I'm loving that wicker swan.
>>
>>7455642
Barbie sat on her ass drinking tea whilst she orders Skipper and Stacie to do the gardening work.

>>7455642
Aah, those are so cool! I'm sorry your cousin threw out all the Barbie stuff you gave his daughter.
I'm really loving that wheelbarrow. Do the wheels actually move or are they moulded plastic? And for a tea set, Rement makes Barbie-sized teapots etc. And dish sets. And food. Rement stuff is rather horrifyingly addictive to collect lol.

>Not them but you seem to have a bizarre complex where you seem to accuse lots of people of being one when they have not said anything to suggest such a thing.

If someone is that obsessed with proclaiming that little girls can't possibly be snips and snails and puppy dog tails, they only like pure things like sparkles and princesses, to the point of screeching about how any girl who did play anything other than pretty sparkle unicorn princess must now be a fat tumblrina, then yeah... there's something creepy about their obsession with little girls' playtime.
>>
>>7455665
Okay, but why do you care so much about it to get so worked up? Just ignore it
>>
>>7455589
I know TF. I had been obsessive about keeping all my doll things picked up as a kid, but when my dad fixed the roof on my parents house a few years ago, he knocked over the box of all my doll furniture and then stepped on what fell out 90 million times, then threw most of pieces in the garbage. If he had just told me, I would have cleaned it all up the day he knocked it over.
>>
>>7454779
Even as a collector, the cheapshit quality will tank everything. There are seven different dolls. If there was only 1, you might have some hope of picking through a whole case and finding one that isn't messed up. I cannot imagine Target or Walmart carrying these things in stores, the WMs near me didn't even carry the dolls for Captain Marvel, Nutcracker, or Hasbro's super hero high school girls.

I bet some of these are on that popsicle stick manlet Fashionista body. It looks so bad.

So the new trailer has Bo switching back and forth from her iconic pink dress to her little boy blue outfit. Is the trailer implying that only Woody still views Bo as she once was when in reality shes wearing blue pants? Is Bo now bipolar and switching back and forth from one personality to the other?

My guess is that the blu outfit bo is an evil impostor trying to trick Woody to stop caring about being a childs toy, and to join her Lost Toys cult, while the real bo is kept locked up or hidden.

OH LORD THE LITTLE BIRDS.
...Sorry, haha. Getting animals in any Barbie set when I was a kid pretty much made my entire month. I always wanted one of the Barbie horses but they were too expensive, and the ones at Goodwill always had janky manes. That is so cool though.
Probably my most prized pieces of Barbie furniture are the things from my mom's childhood back in the '60s. There's not much left, but I do have a cowboy-style coffee set from her old Calamity Jane doll, and some little silk flowers, among other things.

I had the Cali Girl beach playset and this airplane. The plane gave me so much damn stress because it had so many small pieces that I needed to keep track of.

And it ended up being all for naught because my oldest brother took one of the coke cans and swallowed it to mess with me.
>>
>>7459333
Two of my cousins had that! It was awesome. Knowing we'd end up running into their playroom and playing Barbie for hours made the long trip to visit those particular relatives so worth it.
What is it with brothers and eating Barbie stuff?! My brother decapitated a bunch of my Barbies Ozzy Osbourne style: biting off their heads. And he ate a couple Barbie shoes. Never two of the same pair, though, of course...

I'd definitely wear human-sized versions of some of the old Barbie clothes I have from my mom. There's this one-shoulder pink overall jumpsuit thing with flowers all over it, VERY late-'60s hippie, that I would love in my own size. A yellow, yellow-orange, and orange chiffon nighty with matching bathrobe that I wouldn't mind wearing around my apartment. An orange velvet minidress with a drop waist and lace sleeves and ruffle.
There's also this makeshift off-white circle skirt that my mom made out of one of her old silk hair scrunchies. It's not actual Barbie clothes, but it fits around a doll's waist and it's very light and flowy. It also somehow still has its elastic-ness after 50 years? WITCHCRAFT lmao.

I had that Princess and Pauper castle and later my little sister got a Cinderella castle that was a cheap blue version of half of that one.
Also used to have an old cardboard dollhouse that had the second story rooms falling out.
I'm actually getting a custom dollhouse made to display my doll collection and let my daughter play with the bottoms rooms.

I actually had a headless tooth fairy barbie with blue molded ballerina shoes that ended up in a camo sports bra and bright pink short shots and I wore that over a white tshirt as a Halloween outfit once in high school with some red throat makeup.
