Anygood instructions how to make good custom lego power functions?
All I can find is how to solder a motor to lego bricks and not how to implement a custom motor with bluetooth, smooth "speed transition" for speeding up a train etc. Sorry for my terrible english. I'm just sick of legos prices. 50€ for a plastic battery box with a bluetooth receiver. I'm not going to pay those prices.

Going to start selling some of my Lego this week once my Drimark pen arrives. Had to look up all the thing required to legit check bills like red and blue fibers, security code with uv light to check against bleached bills, and ghost face. Should be good now feel confident.

Going to sell my license shit, star wars, harry potter, etc. Took the Lego creator expert and train redpill and I'm sick of my past ways of hoarding mini figures that was caused by licenses shit (fuck army building). Also fuck the shit ton of uninspired 20 and 60 dollar license sets that are half assed and only made to shuffle around selective mini figures. I'm starting to realize half of the reason I even bought these licensed sets were for the mini figures. For what. No one likes the small star wars vehicles, no one likes the half made buildings of Jurassic Park that cost hundreds only to have the front look good, who even likes the harry potter sets besides the train and the collectors Hogwarts uni the rest feel incomplete. Fuck license shit.

Don't even get me started how Lego implements minor changes on their license figures of even current themes so that old figures look out of place with current ones, looking at you Ninjango and Star Wars. Right now its purely Creator Expert, Trains, and some city to complete the previous two. But if we ever get a classic castle or pirate I will dabble in such.

I had a lot of dreams about lego themes. Some were reboots though:
>Mars Mission reboot-astrounats have orange and white as their color scheme,Life on Mars peaceful aliens are in,Mars Mission alien invaders are antagonists. They use new color schemes.
>Aquazone reboot-First wave Aquanauts, next up Aquasharks, then they discover Atlantis and fight monsters like the Atlantis theme did, then final villains are aliens/fish/reptile people of Bermuda Triangle.
>Conspiracy theme-this is recent, after I watched Project Blue Book yesterday,it would have Dr.Allen Bricknek(dream name) investigate UFOs.We get 50s classic cars that are equipped with secrets guns.We get MIB as good guys or bad?We get grey aliens, reptilians, nordics in this series and green little men.
>Insectoids reboot-bunch of astrounauts get on an alien planet ruled by insect people and try to get out of it.
>Adventurers reboot:Redo Egypt,Amazon,Asia,Dinosaurs but they go to Greece,Italy and Atlantis?
>Exo Force reboot-new detailed mechs for humans, they fight in space instead and fight aliens and robots. Something like Gundam. The mechs would be small and cheaper and then havebig mechs, spaceships, bases and Titan mechs.

Pic related is something I did on how I saw the conspiracy theme,of course it looked different but it is closer to it.

I hate it when companies do this. unfortunately it's probably the post office's fault (or who ever the carrier is) I don't there's anything you can do about it.

I once had to call UPS because I paid for 2 day shipping (was going on a trip) and the 2 days had passed. All they did was apologize and made sure it showed up the next day. Luckily it got to me in time.
>>
Help me decide what I should get.
I'll probably chose between
>UCS Snowspeeder(+rarity, more interesting pieces, -one of less interesting Star Wars UCS designs)
>Saturn V(+one of the only Lego sets I could actually keep on display, -less varied pieces I think?)
Both would cost me around the same thanks to having a gift card to a store that has the Snowspeeder in stock.

But I might also go for
>Big Ben(+same price as snowspeeder, LOTS of pieces, -the pieces are mostly boring bricks)
>UCS Slave I(+I like the design design, interesting pieces, -would have to pay MSRP, don't like the colors that much)

What would you choose?
>>

New. I watched that multiple times and I just didn't see it. I think you just want the "I-told-you-so" points for figuring it out. Back when I hung around /co/ there were so many threads where people were breaking down every leaked image from the marvel movies trying to pinpoint something. And as far as I know none of them ever got a prize or any accolades if one of their wild theories was right.

maybe rex and emmet, while traveling through the Lego system accidentally entered the classic space sector and, due to the recent attacks by the systar system (one of these attacks saw a white officer being turned pink), the classic space people misinterpret this to be another attack, until Benny, who managed to escape from Bricksburg shortly after the apocalypse, realizes emmet is aboard and they team up to go to the systar system together

Thanks for your advice. I recently bought this book (Tiny Lego Wonders) to help me build some courage. It also lists some of those "specialty pieces" that always puzzle me, but sadly no codes or anything to actually identify them.

If you're still taking suggestions, it might help if you have a specific type of construction that you're interested in (spaceships, cars, boats, houses, robots, etc) and focus on those for a while. Eventually you'll start to improve in ability and you'll be able to branch out into building other types of constructions, but the initial interest in the first type will keep you motivated to continue building and not give up.

I used to be really terrible at constructing things, but then I started focusing on pushing myself to build better cars, and now I'm not as terrible at constructing things.
>>
>>7328410
Yeah, there are bunch of books like that. I've been eyeing some, to buy when they are cheap.

>>7328425
When I was a child, any amount of random blocks would keep me interested. But nowadays there's so many great models and makers everywhere, that it's difficult to even know where to start. "Those people have thousands of bricks", I keep thinking, "and have been building a long time, so they know all the tricks already"... it's very intimidating, honestly.

But yeah, I actually have some "car parts" now, so might as well try to come up with something!

Hyper-intelligent Raptors as the villain would be a neat twist.
>>
>>7328768
My guess is:
>In universe
Emmet became the action adventure man he needed to be to save his friends, then traveled back in time to train/help himself rescue Lucy (and everyone else) before it was too late.

>meta-universe
Finn's older now and his new sigfig is a action cowboy dinosaur space dude (basic super-mash-up OC), but while playing with his sister, he becomes nostalgic for his first sigfig and plays with them both.
>>
>>7328788
The only other twist villain would have to be the banana
>>
>>7328788
I love that Lucy is still resistant to have anything to do with this song.

Also, I'm curious to see if dark-edge-verse-DCU Jason Momoa Aquaman will interact with the colourful superfriends cartoon-versions of the justice league established in Lego movie and lego batman. Especially since orange shirt aquaman exists in universe already

Given the main theme of the Lego Movie 2, chances are the villain characters are going to mirror that. As such these are the main three antagonists;

> Rex is very likely the final villain given he represents the shift in Finn's playstyle since the first movie, he's more action/adventure orientated and because of that he is convinced to act in a certain way without listening to others. Chances are the Plantimals will be innocent animals that he attacks which will lead to Emmet realizing he is not a good role model. I expect he is the final villain of the film to mirror the idea of real life Finn learning not to be so headstrong and allow for the fun/unstructured playstyle his sister includes.

> General Mayhem is clearly misguided, pre-concieved notions of people and representing the idea of unstructed play which is an extension of the theme from the first movie. This character is very likely a representation of Finn's Younger Sister and her attitude towards Emmet in the movie likely changes over the course of the film.

> Queen Watevra, though likely due to being misguided viewing the outsiders as a potential threat that needs to be defeated. Balthazar brainwashes people for Queen Watevra in order to ensure they do not rebel against the orders that Watevra has given.

remove head, move arm pointing up, pull it off sideways quickly and firmly

HOWEVER not all torsos and arms are the same, older pieces can be more brittle, denmark regular torsos can be harder but therefore easier to break when stressed, chinese torsos are more forgiving because they're stretchier, if you put a chinese arm on a regular torso the plastic can react oddly making it either really tight and hard to move or too floppy
removing can break torsos or arms and make them floppier, always be super careful the first time you try
hear and feel smooth "plopping' you're prolly ok
heark creaking and some screaking resistance? best stop unless you really want to and think it can take it
this can't really be explained except fro trying it on a whole bunch of pieces

I saw the some summer City sets,I got to see the ctaalog from a friend. Before I go into details I also saw a new theme, its an Agents theme that might make many of you happy.

So,I saw two subthemes for City for this summer,we get a small diving theme. The sets are more sci fi in line with Aquazone/Aquaraiders.
They search for treasures and I think we also get a orange submersible for an "antagonistic side",pirates?
So,they are around 5 sets. One small 4+ submersible,a submarine in orange for "pirates",a yellow submarine for good guys,we get a new fish mold and manta,we get a big aquatic base in yellow and a another submarine with boat.

We get for Space lunar sets this time and in the background of the boxes you can see Mars, possible teaser for next time?
We get a 4+ set that includes an astronaut and a satellite. The astronauts use a new piece for their suits. Similar suit to The Martian movie from 2015.
Next set is a lunar rover, looks similar to those Mars rovers for astronauts but bulkier.Includes two astronauts and a crystal in a meteor, new pieces too.
Next up is a space shuttle, all of it is brick built. Its small and includes two astronauts, pretty modern compared to the last ones.We get a lunar space station,is similar to those Nasa concept art/prototypes lunar bases.Includes 3 astroanuts and a scientist. Pretty small. We get a rocket launch station, similar to the 2011 and 2015 ones. And I think I saw a truck with a rocket too.

Moving on the new themeAlpha Team, yes its a reboot of the original but other than name and a few things is very different. So,the sets have this blue with red, green and yellow color schemes for the good guys. They have cars that transform into mechs, helicopters or planes similar to M.A.S.K. or latest Alpha Team wave. The bad guys are diverse like Agents and Ultra Agents, the main antagonist is Ogel,we also get reboot characters from previous agents themes.
>>
Villains include Ogel, skeleton masked henchmen,a fire lady with "gas" mask,a toxic monster,a sea shark mutant thing,a robot and a cyclops character. They are around 7 sets biggest one being Ogel's base which is a giant skull,we get a new truck for agents and alot of transformable cars for heroes, villains use small vehicles and mechs.

the creators of the movie literally said that this time they focusing on humans relationship while creatures will be a tiny background decorations.
We can see where it did lead this piece of a movie...

People like first movie because of
- Jakob Kowalski. he's literally the best character. We see the first movie through his eyes basically because he's the only "regular" character and a fun one.
- Just for an atmosphere of that time
- For creatures

Second movie is all about crappy whimsical snowflake-characters that nobody cares about.
Even harry potter fans were disappointed.
Not to mention the love between Kowalski and that wizard was completely destroyed which pissed me off - i wanted to see a huge lego set where they working together in a big magical bakery.

The father allowed Finn and his sister to use the Lego at the end of the first movie. Really? What was the point of introducing his character in the first place? Sound lame af

I liked Harry Potter only because of the creatures. They never showed the best one in the movie and if they showed some it was only for short period. This time I really hoped for some Erlking, like remold of gollum, but no...

Even star wars gave me backstab when cutting off the aliens I looked forward. I thought that Disney will come up with some cool whacky ideas for aliens but no. They only showed two of them in casion and every slackjawed kidbrain says its the worst scene in that movie. Even Jurrasic world gave us only shitton of raptors and carnivores not herbivore. Also I know I have seen both Emmet and Rex doing the same move, single fist slamming into the ground and a shockwave knocking out everything around him. Deffinitly feeds to the idea that Rex helps make Emmet the hero he needs to be.

It doesn't take much to get a good lighting setup. Just a couple of cheap pole lights and a piece of posterboard for the backdrop. The most important thing is understanding how bounce lighting works. The one with the plate and clip is not illegal anymore, not with the newer pieces, they're made like a minifig hand.

If a plate is doesn't have studs, you can use that SNOT technic on the top left. The reason that you can't do that is that it damage the LEGO logo.

I think that LEGO should revise that.

And they should revise the Technic pieces too, so it'll accept studs.

Anyone know of Lego releasing anything like this as a big print? I'm wanting to frame something to go above my desk that's vintage Lego related. I was thinking about taking apart an idea book and displaying all of the pages.
>>
>>7329449
A couple years ago, Lego released high-resolution scans of the original photos used to create some of their catalog images on their website. There were a few from the Classic Castle era.

Somebody here can probably point you to a link. I know they were all posted in the /lg/ so you could try looking in the archive if you can't find them elsewhere.

6815 - Interesting little craft based on big round piece
6854 - One of the best lego designs. The only instance where hose is connected to both vehicle and pilot's helmet. Small set with all gimmicks (magnet and color dishes)
6856 - tweak design but great pieces. Just mod other sets with it's parts
6899 - My first space set. Small structure with many functions and unique look.
6958 - my favorite space station. Period. So comfy with closed dome!
