Either Alpha Trion or Cyclonus.
Come to think of it, Prime trilogy kinda fucks up by putting Galvatron early in TR rather than saving him up for PoTP.
>>
>>7326003
I wouldn't say hes "semi" important, but yeah, even a retool of the TR with the headmaster gimmick removed and new forearms would be a huge improvement.

there are tons of shapeways kits to fix the TR tho

Doesn't feel like that long ago.

My vote goes to Grapple, though. We got an Inferno (technically) last time around but we haven't seen a Grapple aside from the MP since the Generations one.

Dunno man, Gen Grapple still one of the best, don't know what improvements you'd want, while Trailbreaer was a small deluxe based on the idw character and not the original design and Hoist was just a repaint missing his wings and gunarm.

At least we're getting a new Ratchet and Ironhide on Siege.

I've pretty much got options for any scale I want in regards to the OG design, considering star saber fits with CHUGPW+ because connonicaly he's the size of a combiner.
>>
>>7326132

But yes he does need a leader class rep in the wfc trilogy. Armor mode and all
>>
Just got Siege Megatron in to go with Optimus. The Siege line is the first ever Transformers figures I've gotten. Meg's and Optimus are great. I was thinking of getting Starscrram and Soundwave when they come out. I'd want two Autobots though too. Probably a Bumblebee but who else? Ironhide? Not really interested in the Leaders. I saw both and passed, not that they didn't look good. Just not invested in the characters.
>>
>>7326166
I do like how all of the 1986 movie bots had very distinct and appealing color profiles compared to 84/85 bots, obviously because they were designed as characters first instead of being toys. It really makes them look nice together, although Roddy should be burgundy and not red.
>>
>>7326210

No Bumblebee yet annouced for Siege.

Maybe try Sideswipe since he's really solid from what I hear.
>>
>>7326245

Once you get passed the handful of 'human villain of the week' episodes it gets pretty good, as those cheesier episodes establish the Autobots as being just barely able to handle low-level threats and then bigger heavily-armed 'Cons start showing up and trouncing them. Megatron is great in it too, plus Sari.

I'll probably get Blitzwing since any sort of flying craft as a model just holds less value for me, thus the lack of transformation doesn't bother me nearly as much as with Bumblebee.

Then again a cheaper alternative that can transform as still looks detailed enough will probably come along eventually. Decisions, decisions.

I guess it depends on your standards for "detailed enough"; I found all the Evasion Optimus options woefully unsatisfying until I got 3A's Evasion Optimus. Even though the OP movie one is the new hotness I still love this one as a Mad Max-esque Optimus.

How one feels about the different Optimus designs is understandably a whole other beast. Live-action Optimus simply demands more colour separation than most others to look good enough, I feel. Naturally other, simpler Optimus designs can get away with less and depending on who you ask that less is more than any live-action Optimus design will ever bee, even for those who like said designs greatly. Ah, preference.

Still, it's true that red dominant prime is the best.
>>
>>7326989
>I would like a v2 sideswipe with a better chest
I feel like I'm one of the few (or only) people who actually likes the wide chest. Gives him some character, makes him look like a Bruce Timm superhero, and it makes the superior G2 version look even more badass. I agree the ankle articulation could be better, but I'm actually a fan of having the Countach bumper/tail light hems on his pants. I like it when an alt mode shows off as many of its recognizable design elements in bot mode as possible, regardless of accuracy.
>>
Not >>7326783, but I'm working on a spreadsheet of who's who in the movie verse based on whether or not they have a figure or not.

I wouldn't be too worried anon. Remember that it's a whole new design team with a boner for G1. The Prime Trilogy was pretty much their Unicron Trilogy, while Siege is their Classics phase. Does it really, though? I remember in interviews with Bay when they were asking "why the flames, etc, etc...", he said something about red not being a particularly photogenic color, but like... I saw Bumblebee last weekend. He looked fine and was basically using identical G1 color blocking.

I find that, when it comes to movie adaptations of stuff, people always say that "this wouldn't work" or "that wouldn't work", but then someone eventually has the balls to just try it and it works fine. Hollywood is retarded.

I love him still. Hes a good masterpiece figure, just not up to snuff with the current ones because he is so easy to do. A 2.0 would be kinda pointless besides a smaller chest, new head, and different looking legs.
Still a good toy masterpiece compared to the current cartoon masterpiece look.

I mean... they COULD have, but it would have added a bunch of steps and/or introduced more panel lines. And like I said, I don't really care about accuracy, and I like it when bots have different proportions to make them feel unique instead of all of them looking like a person wearing a robot costume. Really kind of proves how much more lax they were on the cartoon accuracy requirements back then.

>because he is so easy to do
Is that bad, really? Actually, I remember when MP-12 first came out, a good chunk of fans were pretty pissed about how simple his transformation was, as well as how small he was, and how his chest wasn't narrow enough. Different strokes, I guess.

>>7327015

Generations are your adult collector-focused toys. Generations: For For Cybertron: Siege (and Power of the Primes) are your G1 remakes. Generations: Studio Series are your Michael Bay remakes.

Hollywood likes a love story. It's one of those things they'll just shoehorn in almost anywhere if they can. I didn't really mind him as a character, but I was a little annoyed at the scene where Charlie DEMANDS he take his shirt off while they're driving so she can use it as a blindfold, and then proceeds to oggle him AND lose his shirt. Like, I don't really give a flying fuck, but shit like that keeps propagating the horrendous double-standard for sexual harassment between men and women. Can you imagine if the roles were reversed in that scene? There would be boycotts and lynch mobs.
>>
>>7327412
Which is what I enjoyed about the early movie looks. I've they became more human looking they lost the vehicle parts.
>>
>>7327401
Finally getting to see these character models on full display really makes me appreciate how good they are. Like, independent of Transformers "accuracy" and Michael Bay stigma, these are just really cool, distinct and memorable designs for robots, period. And I love how much personality they have; like, Bee is all bright and round and friendly-looking, while Blitzwing is angular and imposing, and all of the clearly-identifiable plane bits give him a nice militaristic vibe that makes it obvious he's a baddie. He's even got a bit of a mecha/Macross vibe.

I don't usually buy big, expensive, non-transforming bots, but these guys are gorgeous.

>What toys from RID are worth getting?
Usually I would recommend skipping the first wave of Warriors but now with Cyberverse all of them look better. Just note the known issues. >Steeljaw you need to extend arms fully for it to bend
>Sideswipe has shoulder locking issues
>Grimlock has a self-destructive elbow ratchet that you can prevent.

>I want to get characters like Springload and some of the other decepticons. Plus popular ones like Starscream and Soundwave.
The problem with the bestial decepticons is that they don't have much representation in the warrior class, there's more of them in the Legion class and they are good for their size. Starscream and Soundwave are fine and some folks use them in their CHUG collections.

>Are any of the minicons worth getting? Or the characters that can use minicons?
The Minicons are tiny 1-steps TFs and the first few waves aren't compatible with anything other than their own gimmick toys. The only decent, (i.e. fully articulated) gimmick launcher is the Crazybolt mold you see in the middle of the pic above, but anons say it had distro issues in their parts of the world.

The best Minicon toys are the Minicon 2-packs. They come with decent Scout-sized figures of the main characters, with additional clear armor for them. The later S3 ones came with Weaponizer Minicons (pic) that transform into weapons with 5mm handles, which makes them compatible with other TF toys.

As far as I know the only other planet transformer was a death star that turned into darth vader.

Don't pull any triggers yet.
>>
>>7328036
I do.
>>
>>7328036
I only have the two Autobot ones

Flak is amazing, the rest are meh but fun to play with nonetheless. I wish the Race Car patrol has better balance in robot mode
>>
>>7325921
I don't care what he was or wasn't called in the movie or the name written on the box, on my shelf, that's gonna be Starscream.
>>
>>7328036
The one ones were brilliant. The new ones use the same cheap plastic as Cyberverse. Falling apart is their main gimmick. Get 'em on sale in a few months.
>>
>>7328022
And that time is still better than 5 minutes of G1 pandering
>>
>>7328036
I wish they did Fixit and Erector. Hopefully Countdown is bundled with Omega Supreme. But two out of three isn't bad.
>>
>>7328161
Micromaster bases would make me buy the Siege ones, despite hearing a lot of negative stuff.
>>
>>7328161
Erector and Tote are my "never gonna happen but I still want 'em" short-list.
>>
Best place to get studio series brawl and ironhide online not at rape prices?
>>
>>7328245
Amazon?
>>
>>7328036
They're great but I'd love them more if we eventually got micromaster bases, transports, or combiners.
>>
Ordered this glorious red shirt bastard.
>>
>>7328293
Really cool of Hasbro to let 3P put out stuff like this. I'd rather have an SS Blitzwing, but this is nice too.

Star Saber looks so dope, and this is coming from a guy that dislikes his IDW reimagining.
>>
>>7326674

I forget did he even turn into a tank in the movie?
>>
>>7327084
I mean, it was literally the same evil government org and that one guy really looked kind of like Simmons 2.0.

They even had the same dam.
>>
>>7328433
I just got mine earlier this week and I must say I'm very impressed at the craftsmanship.
>>
>>7328293
Wonder if any chinks would reverse engineer reference this into a transformable 3P toy.
>>
>>7328433
I look at it as I either get multiple versions that never look really right in robot mode but can occasionally be a jet or just get a robot mode only and be pleased with that.

Unfortunately, no. Not a peep.

Have you pegged everything correctly?

>Bakish congratulated Paramount for a successful turnaround, using the latest in the Transformers franchise as an example: Bumblebee, he said, is “solidly profitable” while its predecessor in the summer of 2017 lost more than $100 million.

>Gianopulos is also trying to recharge “Transformers,” which is based on the Hasbro Inc. toys. Derided for being shallow, irritatingly loud and with contrived machismo, the 2017 installment — the final one to be directed by Michael Bay — was the lowest-grossing in the series and scored just 15 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, with director Travis Knight, the franchise has been re-imagined, and the recently released “Bumblebee” — which stars a female lead and was the first “Transformers” screenplay to be written by a woman — is already meeting positive reviews.

tl;dr, CEO of Viacom congratulates CEO of Paramount saying that Bumblebee is a solid success compared to the failure that is Bayformers 5.

Anyone got Skytread? How is he?
>>
>Congratulating Jim Gianopulos for the 2018 turnaround success of the movie studio, Viacom (parent company of Paramount Pictures) CEO Bob Bakish stated that Transformers: Bumblebee is ‘solidly profitable’.

>This was most noticeable as Viacom admitted that Transformers: The Last Knight acquired a $100 million loss for the company back in 2017 and created a domino effect which could have sent Paramount to a doomed state had it not been for their new CEO’s timely action.

>“Bakish congratulated Paramount for a successful turnaround, using the latest in the Transformers franchise as an example: Bumblebee, he said, is “solidly profitable” while its predecessor in the summer of 2017 lost more than $100 million.”

>Speaking to Bloomberg, Mr. Gianopulos stated that they are trying to “recharge” the Transformers franchise amidst the recent announcement of shelving the latest movie of the Star Trek franchise.

Pop those bottles boys we totally getting Bee 2 and that Prime solo movie, probably will lead back into a big budget main film

I believe Death-star Vader is the only planet-former toy aside from those two and their dozens of repaints.

I thought the dude hated that thing.

I'm pretty sure everything is pegged together properly, he just likes to flop onto his back for no reason.

I’m disappointed that when they changed Swindler’s rear half to look less like a delorean they didn’t take the opportunity to just add on the rear booster-thingies on the Back to the Future one.
It would have even fit in with the normal-vehicle-but-slightly-weird-because-cybertonian thing the line has going.
>>
>>7328911
I am assuming they changed it to avoid licensing issues. Who owns the DMC license anyways?

no

yes

But to be honest I just want a geewun rehash of the 2007 movie, being a sequel to Bee with a different cast on both teams.

And call it Transformers because brand names are important.
>>
>>7328161

I get the feeling Hasbro isn't too happy with Erector after that Botcon voting thing years ago. Maybe if they changed his name to something else.

Please Hasbro, just give us a cool Micromaster construction set with Erector.

Wreck-tor?
Or go with one of the foreign names.
In Japan he was Cragun. That could work.

>>7327772
You know, if Hasbro does Dinoking in Generations Selects, I do wonder how they'll handle Gairyu, being the Ankylosaur (and his mold-mate Bristleback).

Like, he could be a Prime Master that fits inside a Ramhorn retool, which goes into Goryu's mouth like Grimlock and the Dinobot Enigma. Or will they just ignore him altogether?

>>7328161
Yeah, Countdown is (allegedly) bundled with Omega Supreme.
