Barricade has been announced. And if the other day's leaks were true, there's going to be a SS KSI Boss, which could be used as the basis for a SS Nitro Zeus.

They don't really seem to be going in any particular order with releases, considering how they still haven't completed the Movie 1 cast.
>>
>>7277500
Ah man, doesn't look like they'll be using the last toy's engineering if those arms are anything to go by. I guess shrinking the mold is a bit out of the question, especially with how all those small parts would easily snap off with things like the hands attaching to the wheels.

>And if the other day's leaks were true, there's going to be a SS KSI Boss, which could be used as the basis for a SS Nitro Zeus.
Isn't Cogman and Drift using the TLK molds with updated paint apps? You'd think since they did it to Thundercracker they'd just give Nitro a better color of plastic and ship it.

Her ankles can tilt inwards, as well as forwards and back, but they aren't ball joints. Also, and I just discovered this, but the wheels on her legs can come off, wheel well and headlights all. It's not glued in or anything, it's just sort of tabbed in. I'd kind of like to see her get retooled into another character like Nautica, the easily removed parts kind of suggest it could work.
>>

Basically that raised tab and the dark slot on her leg. One came off easy, the other one is holding steady and I don't want to get ahead of myself. Just saying, it's there. Could easily replace the car wheel with a gun or a thruster for a 'jet' mode. Mostly I just want more fembot combiners.

oh fuck, so how needed is it for transformation?
is it there a way to minimize stress on it?

>>7277817
Not really, and no, in that order. It WILL crack, but the hinge continues operating normally despite it, at least on mine. The transformation involves lifting up the cockpit cover and folding part of the torso in or out, then placing the cover back down.
To my knowledge this has been a widespread problem on all of this figure, but I have yet to see an anon who had the entire cockpit cover come off the toy because of it.

>>
>>7277977
Actual triple changers of these would be near impossible to engineer, me thinks.
>>
>>7277977
Same.
I've got this theory that Hasbro doesn't do movie triple changers because of how difficult the licensing might be.

So, Shatter for instance needs to pass the standards Chevrolet has for their merchandise in order to use her Camaro mode (which might be difficult with the Harrier Jet parts) but also needs to be licensed by Boeing in order to use the Harrier Jet parts. And then you've got to get those two companies to agree to allow the other company to get a share of the profits on top of that.

They aren't doing triple-changers as SS or the Bee-line because it's a money sink for deluxe-class toys. The engineering alone for one alt mode is nightmare enough without having to worry about TWO license-accurate forms.

Splitting them up makes it easier on the designers, licensors, and Hasbro's marketing.

Well I am 120% won over by this line. Although getting them all for $35 doesn't hurt my opinion. Even Sideswipe who I didn't plan to get is a winner. His transformation is easy, but not simple and he compacts down so tidily. Hound's legs basically do the same as TR Kup, which I love. Cog is a pile of great weapons. And Skytread's only real issue is the length of the handle on his tank barrel; I even got his turret halves to peg in correctly with little issue.

My only other complaint so far is that Hound and Sideswipe are a bit small.

The plastic quality is great, the QC is solid, and I forgot how fucking much I missed ankle joints. The paint apps are all great, and there's plenty of detail. It's almost hard to believe Cog came from the same company that gave us Prime Wars. I'm hoping to be just as pleasantly surprised by Flywheels and whatever else I decide to buy from future waves.

This is so silly; I love it. The line gimmick just being connectable guns and lots of 5mm ports is a great idea.

This. The underside of his feet are so fucking gorgeously detailed with the mix of blue, gunmetal and those little yellow paint apps. Seriously, yellow paint apps on the bottom of his feet for no reason, and when there isn't a spot of yellow paint on him otherwise. That's the kind of detail and quality that has been completely absent from Hasbro releases for the past 5+ years.

Yikes.

nah mate, the voice acting should matter for whatever project it's being used.

Cyberverse's voice direction is really spotty at times, a lot of the casting isn't that fitting or sounds too amateurish.

It sucks cause most Transformers shows up until now, the voice work was always at least top notch or fun and memorable sounding.

Remember that Optimus Prime spin off movie? On Tfw2005 it was confirmed that Paramount will have Joseph Kosinki(Tron:Legacy,Oblivion) to direct the film with Travis Knight as producer and creative consultant(Bay leaves the producer chair). Are you excited? The film is said to tell the origin of Prime from beginning to the civil war on Cybertron while continuing the mission on Earth from Bumblebee in this new timeline.
It all depends on Bee's box office. Lets hope it succeeds.
>>
>>7278273

>>
>>7278355
Its a special screening for one night only because they need the good word of mouth. Thats what Bee has. Paramount's new chair team did a good job since they took the company this year with A Quiet Place and M:I:Fallout so if Bee succeeds then this was a good year for them. Good quality films from now on. The film releases on 21 december. I think you can still buy tickets but its only US and Canada. Tommorow the review embargo also lifts.

>>

>implying that's a bad thing
It's literally the best way to make a good looking toy. You get the extra luster and detail that paint brings out of sculpted surfaces, and if it scratches, you won't notice it as much.

Takara's MP-10 was red plastic painted red, which is why it looks so much nicer and more like a "collectible" than Hasbro's in hand.

Masking tape would add way more thickness to the 5mm port than even the heaviest coating of futureshine. The guns aren't that loose.

I nabbed him recently, and while I really dig him, I got him for $25 off Amazon, and I can't say whether he's worth $40+.

My version the legs don't clip together really well in trailer mode, and the partsforming arms don't lock in well(unless I'm just doing it wrong).

That said, I didn't buy him for Death Winnebago mode, The combined robot mode and Nemesis Hotrod were what I wanted out of it.

I got both Nova and Moonracer. I got them because, ever the optimist, I assumed that either Hasbro or Takara would have completed the fembot combiner limbs for Elita One with Greenlight and Chromia, even if they were all the same mold. God knows anyone who actually survived the combiner lines is used to buying the same mold multiple times.

I'm fine with having them, but I have less than zero interest in a new Chromia, especially since they 're using the horribly compromised combiner mold without even including the combiner gimmick.

>>
>>7278654
Honestly I’d say the Carbots were the weakest out of the micro master packs. Cheap plastic and really lazy weapons mode.

The Jet set was the Best all round, both robots having decent alt modes and a decent weapon form

The artillery guys are like, both sides at once. Flak is near perfect, and the other guy who isn’t flak is kinda garbage.
>>
>>7278658
Mostly it's very minor tolerances... lots of fiddly ass tab-and-slottery that don't quite want to lock in.

Like the partsforming arms don't want stay clipped together. either one will sit flush and fine in their bay on the trailer, but the tab between them won't clip and stay and it pushes them apart and put pressure on the rest of the arm.

The trailer forming legs see to be locking in better now, but one of the feet won't pet into it's place.

And somehow, despite not having a problem when I did it the first time, i can't seem to get Nemesis Hot Rod's rear spoiler plat to actually lock into his legs anymore. Like the tabs and and slots are all there but it just won't tab in. It's less like there's a problem there so much as there's some little trick to doing it that I instinctively did right the first time and now can't figure out how to do every time.

I also picked up the sports car patrol. I had G1 Swindler so I was excited for an update, but the new one isn't nearly as satisfying. Very clumsy and annoying transformation, his tall shoulders don't help anything, and he's really back-heavy. His alt mode is just different enough from a Delorean to make it no fun at all. I will probably make it a point to lose him.

Roadhandler, meanwhile, is a chunky little funbucket. He has a lot of nice paint apps in his bot mode, his transformation is what Swindler's wishes it were, and he's a dandy posability upgrade from G1, for sure. Despite how much I was worried about his legs falling off, mine have actually yet to do so. This feels like the kind of guy I would have carried around in my pocket EVERYWHERE as a kid. >>
>>7278878
It's been a problem with the franchise since the beginning. The stylizing off of the toys to the level that they no longer resemble the toys the animation is based on.
The attempt to make 3D and toys match, but it was still early in 3D animation, and toy design cut a lot of corners.
Live action movies? Big budget? Hey, here is the opportunity to put seamless CGI together with toy engineering and make magic. Maybe legion class "okay" looking, deluxe class looks mostly like on screen, voyager class should be WOW they nearly did it! (i.e. a billion polygon CGI model will never make an exact transforming toy, but they can work the CGI to transform and proportion so the toys can match in a way that doesn't simply scream "lobotomized microencephalic toy sculptor").
Instead, we get CGI that fakes transformations differently in each scene, too much of the aesthetic just bundled shards of metal, and the toys "oh the head is about right" and the "went way out on engineering" getting complex but no creative, and most of us are left with a disappointed feeling on how it all works out. Now HasTak are producing stuff that is less uninspired and more hollow each year.
The Studio line is kinda embarrassing. The masterpiece line was supposed to represent "great engineering and ultimate design" right, from horribly proportioned Bumblebee to attempting to capture the 80's cartoon style in a "premium" line? I still like MP-01 the best, it has the fewest flaws.

Man, I liked armada because of small transformers to take in your pocket. My favorites though were the ones that doubled up as weapons. I’m excited for Cog, the cooler weapon minicons and whatever Siege has to offer.

Favorite minicon weapon/arms micron?

This is how fucking stupid you sound

Three Optimus MPs and a $370 price point and they still haven't gotten it right. You sure showed me, dude.

spotted the alt-rightist who doesn't even watch the show but women hurt his feelings

The show sucks, sure, but like Disney Star Wars 95% of the whiners are Trumpets who don't watch it but are offended by it merely existing.

The same assholes who harassed Rose Tico's actor off social media, yet would scream a hissy fit if people did the same to Michael Racist Bay!

>Favorite minicon weapon
It's more recent, but this little brown Chop Shop that came with TG28 Megatron is legit one of my favorite Decepticons. He squeezes wonderfully in with any team, looks solid in all 3 modes, and even has a bonus minesweeper mode to peg on the front of the Megatron he came with. And all of this on only 1 joint of transformation.

>transforms from Klingon ship to G1 Trypticon with zero Klingon ship parts whatsoever

Seriously, I know the 80s cartoon was generally crappy animated but IDW clearly no longer gives a shit if they try. Eh, they'll probably be out of business within 2 years and know it, and are phoning in whatever now especially since Hasbro made them appeal to the SJWs in the first place.

>I want my toy soaked in paint because plastic makes it look like a toy

Yeah okay. Enjoy needless paint slop, eventual chips and factory errors so you can be in denial over owning toys.

>he does realize paint makes toys look objectively better than bare plastic because Hasbro/Takara are usually too cheap to do paint right
But when they do, it's glorious. I hope I don't catch your case of shit taste.

Uber Eats screwed up my order (barely, they just forgot my fries) so they gave me a full refund. Then I used that money to buy Transmetal Terrorsaur off ebay.

Today has been a good day.

I saw Bumblebee yesterday.....I liked it!
It was fun and decepticons were treated as characters for once.
