Hagrid's Hut is the first set I built as a child and I still remember it fondly. So much so in fact that I took the time last year to search through my backlog of bricks in order to fully rebuild it.

>>7275474
>>7275477

You're free to agree with the messages being insinuated in these sets but for me a Lego set can never be comfy if it's also trying to serve as propaganda.

>>7275642
Let me guess, your go-to-word of the day is "SJW" and Pandering?
>>
>>7275668

the sets are boring and really dull on their own. Lego is at it's best when it's primarily gender neutral or for boys. Stuff like castle and space are male oriented and some of the nicest sets lego has ever put out.
>>
>>7275668

My go-to term is 'shitlib', and 'shitlibbery', but I think that Lego should, to the extent that it is reasonable, not contain propaganda of any kind.

E.g. I would also disapprove of a Lego minifigure line, "White Men of History", because I think children and by extension their toys should be free from the adult world. Clearly this can't be completely achieved, but at any rate by popular opinion the comfiest Lego sets are the ones which avoid politics and just focus on imagination.
>>
>>7275642
Good taste, first year Harry Potter sets were very comfy.

>>7275668
That's kind of dumb thing to say. Obviously whoever posted those two sets didn't do so because of their supposed coziness, but because of some other agenda. Weird to accuse the other anon of using buzzwords, equally well one could say your go-to words are "inclusiveness" and "representation". But whatever, those two sets are not comfy, something like Majisto's workshop is.

Basically those semi big 30-50 dollar sets were the ones i played the most with and rebuild stuff from, which i mostly got those for birthday, new year/christmas, well-done school year and stuff like that, with smaller sets being bought with school lunch/pocket money but i won't count those because they are comfy mostly because they are small. I only got very expensive big sets and modular building later in life, when i started working.

These aren't bad but they're dull and have a feminist agenda behind it.

Tfw no Lego City DMV set.

Absolutely fucking disgusting. Hitler's only mistake was not killing ginger freaks like this.

>Everything in the lego movie is dumb/goofy, you silly goose.
the main chick is badass and cool. the main male is dumb and goofy. From what i see the entire male cast will be like that (metalbeard is a head now, emmet is an idiot and that self-centered faggot with 2 raptors probably will learn a lesson or two how not to be sexist. While females are badass and without main negative perks)

I noticed this new meme marketing when I went to see incredibles 2 with my girlfriend. We really don't see movies so I was taken by surprised that we saw the wreck it Ralph trailer which blatantly called our the little girl for being strong and the man taking credit, then if I remember there was a line in the Lego movie trailer from some robot about how strong women save the world, and then proceeded to watch a full movie about elastigirl coming back as a superhero despite that being an exact 180 on her views of superheros from the last one.

Fucking this! I saw this set in a small 97 catalog that came with some set back then. In the promo setup, they actually had combined this set together with some Outback subtheme sets. They still made a nice scene.
Did you know this set is called Smuggler's hideout or something in German? That's why the guys supposedly have so much money with them.
But yeah, never had this set as a kid, so it was one of the first I bought from Bricklink when I got back to Lego as an adult.
>>
>>7281814
No idea. I do remember the end posts warping over time, you had to stretch them to get them to fit over studs and they wouldn't stay straight

>>7281817
I don't think I ever saw the other Outback sets, gotta look into it now. This thread has me pining for all the sets I never had as a kid, like all the Egypt Adventurer sets...

Probably my favorite set of all time, I'd see it in LEGO magazine and pray that it'd be under the christmas tree
it wasn't
>>

>LEGO magazine
you've brought some memories anon. I haven't heard about that in so long.
Also, I know that feel about not getting gifts anon. I literally never got anything good after I turned like 10. I never got a brand new Lego set, just used ones.
>>
>>7281892
I still have my collection of LEGO mags ranging from like the late 90s to 2007ish (my older ones got trashed a long time ago). They were so much fun to just flip through, also loved to see what people made in the MOC section.
>>
>>7281896
I envy you bro. You keep those magazines safe anon, don't let your cats or pets near them.
>>
>>7281900
I got em all boxed up, I even kept some old bionicle comics that came with them, they're fun to flip through. I just love the old LEGO christmas catalogues, especially this time of year.

nothing about gender in that ad
you could replace the girl with boy and it would be the same ad
>>
>>7284243

>>
>>7284264
I think that the old Legos were actually more feminist.

In these >>7275627 you could easily imagine the figures as men or women, however you wanted to, but these >>7275474 have plenty of makeup and perfect hairdos, because how else would you know that they are women?

I wouldn't exactly call this progress.
