Someone ordered the 1000toys Bootlegs to compare with the original. I know China takes awhile but any update? Lord knows I'm still waiting for my double layer cape for a 4H figure to hit the post.
>>
Caved in and ordered some bootleg stands, how careful should i be with those?
>>
>>7272587
>how careful should i be
I mean, as with any bootleg, extremely. Often times bootlegs have shoddy qc, worksmanship, or crafting quality, so they tend to break much more easily than legit toys. Treat it gently.
>>
>>7272701
i mean, it's job will be to hold other toys, wonder what will be the limit before it collapses
>>
>>7272715
The bootleg stands that came with my bootleg figures have all seemed pretty sturdy, so I wouldn't worry.

Anyone have any luck with recent Figma bootlegs? I have some old ones and they're pretty terrible. Was thinking about maybe getting Figma (Persona) Joker in light of his reveal in Smash. I'm probably better off just getting the real deal. Since I've never played a Persona game maybe that could be my gateway to that since I've heard good things.

Just search for figma on mandarake and get one you like under 30 dollars.

Asking again about the AY Spiderman bootleg.
Can it do the yoga needed to copy this guy's position in beast mode? I didn't mention it but what I wanted to do with the KO is modify the sculpt so it looks similar.

I really want a version of this guy I can pose crawling menacingly over walls.

Sometimes surprisingly good "bootlegs" you get are actually factory seconds, ie rejects that are generally made well but had some flaw that deemed them not good enough to be sold in stores. The factory workers sneak these rejects home and sell them online.

Maybe they are factory rejects, I have no idea since I don't collect black series but they feel and look nice for a "bootleg". Glad I bought them, they're a nice option for army building.

you can make the arms go over the chest easily, but you cant make the legs go closer together while having the lower legs to the side with the way the articulation is designed
its made to make his wall climbing pose easy to do so the joints dont really bend in as much as they do out
i think you could do it if you dont mind modifying it a bit, or swapping out the single joint knees with the double joints like the shoulder uses

How are figma Rem bootlegs? I saw a video of a Ram one and except for a faceplate it looked a lot better than old fake figmas, I just want to know what the plastic is like.
>>
>>7279892
I've got Ram and she's honestly pretty good for a KO. She feels very light, but the plastic really isn't bad. Her hands and face do feel a little on the thin side, but it's not noticeable if you're not paying attention
>>
>>7280235
Thanks anon, I know bootlegs certainly look the part more than they did a few years ago but the feel of the plastic still matters to me. I'll try one out and if the faceplates are wonky then I have a maid outfit for my other figmas.

The problem with keeping an active bootleg general is everyone here is too cautious. They want anons to tell them everything is gonna be alright and that the KO they want to buy won't break in their hamhands. But that obviously won't always be the case.
The thing you're all missing is, if it does break (or is too hideously deformed compared to the listing's pics) you get a full refund, 100% of the time no questions asked. There's nothing to lose.
So go ahead and order anything that piques your interest, so we can have a discussion. It's what anons do at /g/'s Chink Shit General
>>
>>7298023
Actually, it's also because most bootleg sellers usually don't ship nearly as fast, you can end up waiting for over 2 months for your bootlegs to arrive.
and bootlegs that aren't hilarious chinese quality will often not be found in actual stores
>>
>>7298023
I've been waiting for answers on both this thread and the Revo general for >>7283494
I also was burned by a page I can't remember the name of some time ago and I'm really wary about buying outside of Mandarake.
>>
Does anyone have any experience buying KO nendos?
I'm most concerned with hands and accessories over the figures themselves, so I can supplement my already existing collection.
>>
>>7298023
It's less about breaking and more about "is this one actually decent looking or will I need pro-level paint skills to fix the deformity they send me." I'm not enough of an asshole to demand my money back, I knew I was buying a bootleg after all, and was charged accordingly for it.
>>

Well shit, my bootleg stands arrived.
they were nice but the second arm was loose, luckily it was fixable by tightening a bit the screw.
i realized too late the claw accessory was too tightly screwed though, and both claws snapped while i was fiddling with them, can they be super glued and still work?
and the big claw pegs don't work very well, one is too loose, can the pegs on them be thickened so they grip better?

Of course you have to adjust the screws BEFORE posing my dude. Don't glue the broken claws unless you want your figures falling to their doom. Just buy another one, they're cheap as hek. You can however use superglue to thicken the pegs just fine, I've done it with good results
>>
>>7332124
so it's a lost cause?
darn, at least that claw didn't seem to fit on anything, and i ordered 2 so i still have one left.
and it's the first time i've handled it.
i will try superglue to thicken the claw though, since that one seems to be the only one big enough to grip the hips of most the TFs i own.

Depending on the piece, you may have luck on one of MFC’s Nendoroid groups, I remember seeing a lot of people organizing splits for Nendos. If it’s something essential like the main torso or something popular enough that no one would part with it (certain iconic faces, etc.), you’re probably fucked.

so how safe is aliexpress?
it seems everyone has conflicted opinions of everything toy related to it and i would like to know how often, if at all happens the import tax fucking you over or the seller taking your money and running.
>>
>>7338646
I ordered a figure that arrived with a broken joint. You're given the option to tell the seller about a problem before Aliexpress hands over your money to them, so they're obliged to fix it. I contacted the seller, who responded with a request to see the damage. I promptly replied with a clear pic and a second message, and was ignored by them for a couple of business days. After that I got a little irritated so I told Aliexpress I had an issue. They give you the option to ask for a refund, or to return the item, or another option.

I asked for a full refund, just to see if it would get me anywhere, and within another business day I was refunded my money. Idk if that was Aliexpress's doing or the seller's doing, but it worked out. You can use PayPal to pay, so if Aliexpress won't help you, PayPal probably will. And considering bootleg toys aren't too expensive, if it's broken or shit quality, they might just give you a full refund.
>>
>>7338646
ive ordered way too many things from aliexpress and ive only had one or two problems, one of which was a bootleg figma i ordered arrived with a broken joint.
i messaged the seller and he offered a 50% refund right off the bat, i took it an used it to order another bootleg figma from him ;)
>>
>>7338646
I've had pretty good experiences, but I was knowingly buying bootlegs as custom fodder, so if you're looking for legit stuff be wary.

I've only ever had problems with one order--they never shipped anything and kept giving me the runaround about items out of stock, and needing to check stock for alternate items I wanted, etc. I finally got tired of this and asked for my money back and they refunded me within a day. Not too bad overall.

>>
>>7339027
Bootleg stands have never seemed as stupid to me as they do right here. This is a thing designed to hold three of your figures aloft, and you're cheaping out on it? If that things comes crashing down and breaks your figures you're probably gonna lose quite a bit more money than you would have just getting a legit trident stand.
>>
>>7339525
unless you're putting your stand near the window with your figure doing a freefall pose, the most you'll get is the fig faceplanting at 2 inches off the ground.
if the figure breaks at that point, it's a shitty figure.

If i was i wouldn't be asking it in the first place, i want to buy TF KOs and things like figure stands.

Bruh, many collectors have these things called "shelves" that are elevated a fair distance above the ground, and if this thing catastrophically fails, it may not be kind enough to gently set your figure down onto said shelves. It's far more likely your figure will take a 3-6 foot fall onto the ground.
>>
Have they bootlegged polynian shamrock/clover yet?
>>
>>7339593
again, if you set your figure against the edge and put then in a way they will fall forward instead of back, it's your own fault.
extreme poses should be in the back of the stand so they just hit the wall behind it instead of the floor.
even a genuine stand can fail in the same way you're describing.
>>

*back of the shelf.
>>
>>7339606
Dude, look at the design of the trident stand. It's designed to project the figures forward and outward. And sure, legit stands can fail as well, but I'd damn sure like to take my chances with those rather than a bootleg.
>>
>>7339638
not both at the same time bro, if you are going to display them outward do so in the back of the shelf so if they fall they won't tumble all the way to the floor.
if you're doing it on the front hinge the arms back so they fall on their back into the shelf rather than on the front into the floor.
>>
>>7339027
where you got them from?
>>
>>7339604
Not yet but I think they would sell like hotcakes if they were
>>
>>7339677
Thats what I was thinking. Personally they're so basic (just plain colored parts with just face decals) that they'd be incredibly hard for the bootleggers to mess them up, other than shit plastic.
>>
>>7340975
Imagine if they casted them in different color schemes
>>
>>7340983
They definitely would, going by the figma archetype bodies that got bootlegged.

these bootlegs stands are going for around a dolar and cheaper than dirt shipping.
it's tempting but, does anyone own this or the original? if so how good are they?
they obviously don't seem to be so good compared to a tamashii bootleg, but they still look good enough
>>
>>7345511
They do their job pretty well considering they're static stands once you put them together but don't be too rough with them. I cracked one of the arms, but it still works fine
>>
>>7345661
I see the peg at the end can be moved by the stock picture, is the arm purely static or can you move it a bit?
how sturdy would you say the are compared to the bootleg tamashii stands?
>>
>>7345697
The stand comes in three pieces on a runner. The V part for the base, the main support, and the arm. It has to be put onto the support, but it can be turned a couple different ways. It doesn't turn or anything when it's connected so it works nicely to support gundams.

I prefer the Tamashii stands for everything except gundams. Both are fairly sturdy, but these specifically are static so they're technically more sturdy. Maybe only use it with 1/144th kits though
>>
>>7345862
that's all i needed to know, was thinking about buying them for TFs, but they must work quite nicely in either case.
thanks for the info anon.
>>
>>7345511
I kind of love these things. They offer no real versatility in posing, the arm only has two positions (peg pointing outward or peg pointing up), but I like their simplicity. If I simply want to have one of my Gundams hovering, I'd much rather reach for one of these instead of fucking with a Tamashii Stage for a few minutes trying to get the arm and claw just right.
>>
>>7345976
so they are for just leaving in poses rather than constant fiddling, perfect.
they also look a bit sturdier than the bootleg tamashii stages, is it as true as i think?
>>
>>7345995
Yeah, if only because there's no friction-based joints or metal parts to fuck up. It's literally just plastic parts slotting into each other like puzzle pieces, so you don't have to worry about them going loose.

I put wire in his cape so it could hold a pose better, took apart his helmet and reglued it since it was squint and i cut a bit out to expose his face, then i just did some light weathering with tamia powders

Its not that bad in person lol

this is probably more suited for the customs general than the bootleg general

Any reviews on bootleg Mafex Gwenpool? Can't seem to find any.
>>
>>7347508
they made a bootleg? I remember the original had a ton of paint issue but gwenpoolfaags shilled her into oblivion
>>
I can't tell if my black series stormtrooper is a bootleg or just a shitty black series figure. The head is really loose and it lacks wrist joints. I've never had any bootleg figures though so I don't know what to look for.
>>
>>7347508
I hadn't heard about that.
Do you have a link?
I might give it a shot in order to have a body for the future head that is going to come with Mafex evil Gwen
>>7347605
She is good for a Marvel figure due to her actually being comic accurate but the paint was pretty egregious.
>>
>>7347508
Provide a link, please. eBay and Aliexpress show nothing for bootlegs of Mafex’s Gwenpool.
