>>
>>7263945
A guy on the Mexican Mega fanpage in FB contacted Mega to see what they would release in Mexico in 2019. Usually the person handling mega’s fb page doesn’t know shit, but this time they replied with these images from what looks like a catalog.
>>
This is awesome, but does this mean Mega is officially not being distributed in America?
>>
>>7264127
Not necessarily, the catalogue is in Spanish, so they probably have different versions for different markets. This might mean these won't be released in other Spanish speaking countries though.

The original Xeno is still sought after, you could get $10-15 for it. Bloodied one, nah, it's become pretty common because that wave is showing up in a lot of Wal-Marts recently. You can also still get it for retail price at BBTS.

It's ironic how Mega treated the Grunts as badly as the Covenant in those first few years, heck the first wave of sets didn't even include any weapons for them, and on later occasions they were lucky if they got a pair of plasma grenades to go full kamikaze.

>>7268734
Only bought one myself, already had one off of Amazon, caved earlier this year when the price dipped slightly, got the T-1000 at the same time for nearly four times the liquidation centre price... It's tempting to go back for more but I can't really see much use for so many in my collection.

Mega construx is kind of growing on me.

LEGO really needs competition, I hope they step up to it, with COBI and Oxford.
>>
>>7275327
Lego is smashing the competition desu and thats a shame. Mega deserves to get big and get the resources to do all sorts of licenses and big probuilder sets.
>>
>>7276003
I read that LEGO is losing that position though.

I can see serious competition within a few years.

LEGO will be dominant, but it won't be 90% of the market like some years ago.

I think it'll be more like 50% or less.
>>
>>7276096
Lego certainly wont be losing market share to Mega construx in its current state. Pbbg and Cobi definitely is improving by insane lightsteps. Id love to see Lego knocked off the high horse and butthurt /lg/ anons.
>>
>>7276292
Mega cant compete, stores are not carrying anything above $10. Literally absent for the biggest toy season. Unless they can get stores to carry their products, they wont be around for much longer.
>>
This is specifically about that display of we all saw from one of the Toy Fairs a year or 2 years ago, the "future world" with space themed sets etc. Apart from a watered down version of one of the space themes, released as a single vehicle set, have Mattel capitalized on making environmental or building sets based on that? how about a themed sets with figs where buildings and interiors can be interchanged and customized? either that display was to just generate interest or whether they intend to do more with that is anyone's guess. I would have thought and I dont know about other people here but I was disappointed that Mattel haven't put their resources in pushing product like that and make it widely available on a global scale. Maybe the "numbers" aren't there because they are up against LEGO. Anyhow, I see a lot of potential with a lot of themed sets etc but then again what the hell do I know about the biz of international toy production vs the wants from a collector.
>>
>>7276328
Mattel is just so shit that they can't get anyone to carry their Halo line and the death of TRU has limited the amount of stuff stores can carry.

It's pretty clear that shit has to be sold on its own merit, so whatever pull Mattel has doesn't work in the boys toys section.
So id say it's not really Mattel's fault and more the Mega Bloks brand just not selling well enough in the last few physical toy sections available for mass market, hence the tiny space made for them now.
>>

But they were always angry.

I think they need to make it more cute.
>>
>>7276729
The blind bags and heroes sell pretty well. The larger sets didnt sell to well, went to clearance constantly. Seems retailers dont want to spend money to stock the larger sets, as it tends to result in a loss. Plus hako, cod and destiny havent been that popular in the last few years, no major hits released to push merchandise. Then, toys r us messed up the toy economy, mattel isnt doing great financially, most likely dont have a large budget to print new product. So a few factors there.
>>
I actually had a dream last night I had Mega Hellboy and a translucent variant.

I don't think there's anything you can really do outside of buying whatever sets they have in the physical retail stores.
You do help out by buying from amazon and such though.

REemmber, Christmas season is VERY VERY important, so show your support by buying everything you want. Don't wait for clearance prices.

t. Mattel hater who constantly tells everyone not to buy their DC crap so they can lose their license.

Seriously, don't buy their lazyass DC figures. Fuck Mattel and their bullshit they've been giving us for over a decade now.

I just got the Ghaul set in, and was surprised to find that they finally actually got around to numbering the bags. Yes, I'm aware that LEGO originally owned the patent for doing so, but wasn't sure when, or even if Mega would implement it.

When did they start doing it?
>>
>>7277170
With the ghaul and the red harvester, you can see tha manuals online and they come with numbered bags.
>>
The Mega online site had a feature that allowed you to customize your figures. I was all excited about that only to quickly realize it was just an online feature and not something that could be make into physical figure parts that you can buy. Anyhow, I noticed this https://www.heroforge.com
If you ask me, if these guys can do that and make it into a reality why not Mega?

Did we ever figure out why the nuked the CoD site?
>>
>>7284324
*they
>>
>>7284324
Mega says it’s technical issues, but the rumor is that when mcfarlane got the license, it somehow fucked with the advertising part, and mega now can’t advertise cod at all. It makes sense, since they removed cod from their website and they don’t make any mention of it in social media either, where they still advertise halo and destiny.
>>
>>7284360
Well, that's shit. I guess it's not a big deal, though considering Mega is terrible at advertising.
>>
>>7284360
>>7284436
i doubt McFarlane getting the license has anything to do with Mega Bloks, because building toys are usually a seperate lisense from action figures.

Now, if McFarlane were making a miniature CoD line, i'd probably have a giant boner and hoping Mega did lose the license....
>>
>>7284439
If mcfarlane got the cod brick license, they would release 2 vehicles, 3 soldiers and probably a terrain piece, all would pegwarm and mcfarlane would sit on the license doing nothing with it for years.

Like they did the last time they had the cod license.

Like they did the last time they did miniature versions of their military line.

The new Cyclops has her.
>>
>>7284937
I like that cyclops. Looks like a turtle mech, all fat and shit. Mixing it with the sand sniper cyclops it would make a nice “makeshift” powersuit kinda mech.
>>
>>7284587
Nobody would sit on the license, especially for a big one, because they'll need to pay penalties out their ass. A license requires you to use it every single year and produce a certain amount of quantities, and these are INSUREd quantities, so that they can pay the licensor money for every unit made.
They'd simply lose it if they can't do that.

So unless Activision had a really shit licensing department back in the day, i doubt Mcfarlane sat on it and more like no one wanted to give Activision money for their license back then after Mcfarlane stopped making products.

And this is a worrying thing about Mega Bloks/MAttel holding the license, because they're definitely underproducing shit if they're only making minifigures now.
So either Mattel is paying Activision for everything not being made or they're going to ditch the license because of the lack of product they're able to sell to retailers.

and i'd pay many monies for some GoT/WD quality CoD sets from McFarlane. That line died, but fuck if their sets weren't grea.t

You said the same thing about the mantis. You said the same thing about the entirety of call of duty. You said the same thing about the train.

You say the same lines every single time this happens.

The thing is that they had also cancelled TMNT classics, Star Trek, Assassins Creed and Terminator. Just because BBTS or EE won’t have the MCX heroes, doesn’t mean Mega as a whole is done. The Mantis, Halo turrets, CoD containers, CoD WW2 boat, the Train, etc, etc. have come out on physical retailers, and those preorders had been cancelled by amazon too.

Where? What physical retailers? I've not seen them.

Every single one of the sets he's listed sans the train and new mantis have shown up in Canadian walmarts, but mega and mattell in general really suck at distribution if an item isn't a mass ship like barbie or boxes of hotwheels.

You get one or two cases of cool stuff into a store, it sells out in 3 days but takes two months to replenish, if it does at all.

Turns out the heroes series 4 is going to be a walmart exclusive.

Did they officially announce that?

My latest haul.

Meijer's has Mega Construx on sale for 25% off. Got all of this today.

Did tmnt sell poorly? I bought all the sets at full price.

No idea. What I can tell you is that the Technodrome is the best brick built set ever and well worth the full price. I recently pulled it out ot storage and the thing is impressive in volume.

Heyyo, Ranger-maker here. I promise, it's not super difficult is you just use a sharp exacto knife only only the smallest dabs of super glue. If you're willing to attempt it, I'd be very happy to see how it turns out!

Series 2 is at Five Below right now. Still $5 each, but I missed most of this wave, so it’s kind of nice.

Every set I have aside from the Party Wagon I bought at Five Below or Ollie's for cheap. (The party wagon was on sale through Amazon though, like $15.)

Can't figure they would wind up there if they were selling well. Also, when my TRU was going out of buisness it was some of the last Mega Construx stuff left.

I recently found one in a local discount retailer and had a blast putting it together. I got mine for 50 bucks.

Yeah I noticed that too, which makes me wonder, did they sell bad or did mega make too many sets overestimating the success of the line? They did admittedly pick up the IP at an awkward time, Out of the shadows bombed and the 2012 cartoon was winding down. Ass Creed seemingly sold like shit too, so maybe this is the end result of the combined failures of AC,TMNT, and Terminator.

Ass Creed was released at a weird phase of Mega's life, they just introduced the articulation system and didn't market it well. They didn't know how to market it, so each set had wonky play features and odd styling.

TMNT was too diverse for its own good. It didn't focus in on a single style to call home, and I think licensing required a lot more stock than was reasonably sellable, for movie sets, meaning less classic or b/w sets.

Terminator, I don't think was meant to last longer than the theatrical run. Just by nature of the in toys.
