lets try that again not in a dead thread

So this is my Goblin Krenko deck. It uses tinstreet kingpin Krenko as a second commander sorta, where most of my cards dont help him out directly, moreso they help my main commander. Some cards have +1/+1 yes, but not a heap.

Also, a blue/red player today got mad at me for not having spot removal for a black enchantment as mono red AND for having 1 of my 2 blue spot removals in my hand, so idk if I want them even tho I think they're neato burrito

Teysa is a powerful big tiddy goth chick who was prostituted out for political favors whos also a cripple. Shes literally a bunch of fetishes rolled up into a somewhat respectable character. Try googling kemba or avacyn with safe search off if you really want to see some shit.

>>
>>67217203
Its not a good edh card, unless you have repeatable reanimation and double deathtriggers/token doublers which she fights against by needing mana to get her abilities. Its definately possible to make her work but there are better creatures to build around.
>>

>Is Seraph of Scales worth a slot at all?
in edh? no. of course not. unless you are playing teysa or something and even then probably no.

I know that it can be frustrating to go a few games without a win, but try not to take it personally. Congratulate the winner on a cool play that they made. You might be surprised to find how contagious positive feelings are! They'll also likely reciprocate after your own inevitable win!

There's no way it makes the cut in an EDH deck. Frankly even in limited I don't think it should have been mythic rarity.
>>
>>67217252
The spirit tokens represent souls the Orzhov have, carry or are owed. She's the Seraph of the Scales, so presumably she's weighing two souls against each other. If she had Afterlife 4 she'd actually be a good card.

I played a ton of RNA because I liked it a lot more than GoR. The angel is good but it's not at all busted. I think it's worse than Judith, better than Nikya, nowhere near the actual OP cards.

Its pretty fucking Terrible. Does your Meta not play Board wipes? ETB Tokens Producers should be played since the Heat Shimmer/Twinflame spells have great synergy with them. No one is going to let you build a board state over multiple turns.

You need more card Draw first.
>Rile
>Stun
Your goal is to chain your cantrips until your draw out your deck and float all of your mana.
>Skullclamp
>Mind Stone

Other shit you left out.
>Past in Flames
In case your are facing Mill or need more gas.
>Heat Shimmer

>Brute Force

>Possibility Storm.
You are one of the few decks that actually get mileage out of this. When you cast a combat trick on Zada, her ability triggers and the copies are still made. You then get a second spell for free.

Activated abilities follow the same rules of casting a spell (602.2b). In rule 601.2a you see that in the process of casting a spell you propose the spell be cast well before paying the costs of the spell in 601.2h. You propose activating Grenzo's ability, then use Ashnod's Altar as a mana source to pay for that ability.

Boardwipes aren't really a thing anymore in my playgroup because no one really plays creatures anymore. This deck is to shake up the meta. Also, one and done token producers feel like fucking trash, especially if they don't do anything else, they just don't feel efficient.

Past in Flames I left out because paying mana to Jaya's in there and I feel I can reach her ultimate easy, especially with the lack of creatures in the meta. Also, no mill. Blazing Shoal feels like a worse B. Rage. I don't want anymore instantaneously like Rile or Stun, sure they can be explosive but I want more consistent card draw. Any ideas of what to take out for what's left or no? Still willing to hear advice.

Wait... Spells and abilities go on the stack before they've been paid for? That flies in the face of the rules as played by everyone I've ever met and every videogame simulation of the game I've ever played. By that logic, if someone counters your spell, you can just use the mana you would have used to cast it to cast a different spell.

No, because priority doesn't pass until a spell has been paid for. The only real way that you can fuck with paying for spells like that is with the Assist cards from Battlebond, saying you'll help pay for it but not paying for it.

118.2. If a cost includes a mana payment, the player paying the cost has a chance to activate mana abilities. Paying the cost to cast a spell or activate an activated ability follows the steps in rules 601.2f–h.

No, it's an immediate choice. You say "I cast Shitty Spell." and before your opponents have a chance to do anything, the game goes "DO YOU WANT TO PAY FOR THAT?!" and you pay or not. If you don't pay, you don't cast the spell, it goes back into your hand, and you revealed information for no reason.

It's Imperial Seal with politicking and possible synergy with Ob, Ashiok, or Mindcensor. I'd take Vampiric Tutor over it any day, but for $3 Symmetry's a steal.

>>67218607

One lands deck can't really "do it all." There are simply too many different lands matter strategies to fit in one deck. What Golos allows is flexibility. Tatyova will be better at drawing cards and Omnath will be better at making huge creatures. I like his flexibility. Plus he's the perfect maze's end commander, which is pretty cool.

>>67218590

>boring

The commander is now even out yet, how can a strategy that has never had a commander before or been viable in a lands commander deck be boring? I think you're dopamine receptors must be worn out anon, I don't think you understand what boring means.
>>
>>67218637
That's why I don't like him, honestly I feel that the only thing he does well is Maze's End/CoffersTomb. I'd rather have focused commanders like Tatyova, Gitrog or Omnath rather than goodstuff machines like Golos, K&T or even Windgrace. He allows some lazy ass deckbuilding where you just stuff the best land matters cards in the game and the result is probably pretty janky.

>>67218633
Yeah, obviously VT blows this out of the water but it's still a crazy card.
>>
>>67218407
Ajani and Elspeth is the OTP though. You already got Ral Zarek and Nissa bruh.
>>
>>67218552
I think he should be blinked more than than use his second ability.
>>
>>67218512
You immediately have the chance to pay for it. You can activate mana abilities in that time. That's what they described - Tapping a land/creature/artifact/whatever for mana, sacrificing things (as a cost) to produce mana, etc. Until you've moved past that part of casting a spell, nothing else can happen.
>>
>>67218714

>honestly I feel that the only thing he does well is Maze's End/CoffersTomb

That's unique for a lands matter commander. I just think the word boring is inappropriate. Honestly, in any deck you play 60% of the cards are pretty much chosen for you. Golos allows flexibility because of his colors. You can pursue whatever strategy specialization you want. You would fully choose to play Golos as 2 color, or even as mono color. You can still cast him. You gotta step outside the box anon and really try to be creative. Janky is what is fun about edh. Make a mono white lands matter Golos deck. No one will see it coming.

In terms of being able to repeatably abuse its ETB trigger, how good is Wily Goblin? I'm currently in the process of building an Ulasht ETB/Tokens deck and realized that I need more lower costed creatures, but am unsure if something like this would even be worth running.
>>
>>67217856
Fun fact: This is the real reason Affinity for Artifacts is fun to play: If all you have is 2 Treasure tokens in play, you can declare that you're casting Frogmite, Frogmite goes on the stack and it's mana cost doesn't change when you sacrifice the tokens to pay the other two mana of it's casting cost!
Try it with your friends!
>>
>>67218552
I'm making a five color enchantments deck with him because he fetches Serra's Sanctum.
>>
>>67217491
Pretty sure "costs" refers to any additional costs the spell has, like kickers, not the cost to play the spell in the first place.
>>
>>67218587
This is busted in 2H giant btw
>>
>>67218879
The kicker cost becomes part of the cost of the spell. It gets added to the total cost, then any subtractions are applied to said total, then the cost is paid.

>>

I get you anon, I'm not the guy who called him boring, in fact, I called him too perfect because he allows too much versatility in the deck building process. Although now that I wrote that, I realize my deckbuilding process of build test optimize rebuild would make me try to break Golos ASAP and not enjoy the janky builds he offers. In my experience, I can only build jank when the commander is janky as hell, and Golos feels way too strong for that.

I think he's just not for me but I understand the appeal for someone else
>>
>>67219058
The difference being four people can sit down with their normal EDH decks and go "Hey, lets play 2HG", but can't go "Hey, let's play tiny leaders."

Ral's gayness is super tokenized and shitty, there's 0 references to it on cards (because WoTC want that China money) and it was only brought up in that TERRIBLE WAR novel. It reeks of queerbait (just like Chandra and Nissa) and people eat that shit up without truly making WoTC accountable for trying to be progressive but not really being progressive. The whole black woman consultor to build Kaya's character and backstory was really dumb, considering she doesn't have a character.
>>
>>67219106
>there's 0 references to it on cards
Like reality then, you can't know if someone is gay by their everyday actions
>>
>>67219084
2hg is only good if you want a 6 or 8 player game.
>>
>>67219113
That means that the way it's constantly brought up now is forced as hell. It's just the J.K Rowling garbage again.
>>
>>67219113
No, but if you want to make it a character trait for him, you could've at least referenced it with some flavor text, considering his whole shtick in the novel is that he's searching for his boyfriend like crazy, so WAR is not an "everyday action" story at all. It really feels like an afterthought to bait queer mtg players into yas queening for Ral. It's so fucking undeserved, imo.
>>
>>67219106
>Ral's gayness is super tokenized and shitty, there's 0 references to it on cards

How many romantic relationships are really displayed in the card game in general though? You have a few "pairing" cards like Anax & Cymede, Kynaios & Tira, and Pia & Kia who are presented as couples, but I otherwise can't really remember romantic interest being showcased through the cards, like Jace & Vraska, Jace & Liliana, Chandra & Gideon, Chandra & Nissa, Vorinclex & Elesh Norn, or whatever else you have. Maybe I just don't notice because I hardly read flavor text since it's mostly all garbage now.

Can you define how it's center right? Also yeah, America's branding of politics is strange. In most languages liberal = libertarian but in the US it just means leftist.

As for representation, it's like what this anon said >>67219382 , current WotC brass believes that previously underrepresented demographics need to "catch up" with whites, even though honestly mtg's black representation has historically been good. Put that next to wotc slathering sets with minorities even if it biologically doesn't make sense (like the recent ariel shit with disney) and now not ever printing ladies with more than a b-cup to not hurt anyone's feelings (which is hypocritical since they pretend to care about representation so much).

It's all just one big mess of mental olympics and hypocrisy.

I think the biology argument is easily taken down when you consider we've curbed most biological instincts to create a functional society where we don't kill each other at the slightest disagreement.

I think the suicide rate has risen as whole though, nonwithstanding transexuality or gender reassignment procedures. Saying that kids being told that being transexual is fine is the same as lobotomizing them is deciduous at best and offensive at worst.

I think we can agree to disagree on the whole white statement because I don't think we'll get anything constructive out of going down that path.

>>67219445

That aside, I kind of get the flamboyant faggots. I'm not into denegrating myself that way (although I'm sure they don't see it like that), but if heterosexuality is the expectation then it's probably nice to be able to signal to other fags that you're approachable.

>>
>>67219603
>The sports issue is super complicated anon, I do agree on that.
No it's not super complicated. Men and women are physically different to the point that there is no competition between them. men will dominate in all cases. Allowing men to compete with women just means women will never win. How the fuck is that fair?

>But I don't see how transexual people (outside of the sports realm) are problematic
It sterilizes children and immensely increases their odds of suicide with or without the horrible body mutilation surgery. How can anyone see that as acceptable?

>Man, that fucking sucks. Imo it has to be so goddamn hard to have gender dysphoria, with all that it implies, even socially.
yes it does suck. We have other treatments. Schizophrenia meds work wonders on all forms of BODY dysmorphia. It's not "gender" dysmorphia just because the part of your body you want to lop off is your genitals.

>How is that comparable to cutting off your dick or getting your tits removed?
You would become physically ill if you saw some of the horror stories of people who've gotten those surgeries. Even aside from there's the aforementioned points of how it sterilizes children and drives them to suicide. At least the poor lobotomy victims didn't realize what had been done to them some of the time.
>>
>>67219640
Transition is supposed to mitigate dysphoria, but as far as I know it doesn't necessarily eliminates it.

The research part is interesting because I believe both sides could be (and probably are) morally influenced to throw light on some particular results that can be used as "proof".
>>
>>67219640
>isn't the transition supposed to solve that?
We don't have a magic wand capable of getting anywhere close to a real transition. At best you get a gaping wound that has to be dilated constantly to keep it from closing. It's gruesome.
>>
>>67219640
>It being due to dysphoria makes little sense, isn't the transition supposed to solve that?
Supposed to, yeah
But the thing is that transpeople think it will solve all their problems, when it can't
Their new dick/vagina isn't fully functional and most of the time doesn't look the same as a real one
Then there is still the problem of the other parts of their body, that can't be changed
The dysphoria can't fully disappear because science can't make them look like they wish they looked like, it won't be perfect
>>
>>67219670
>Transition is supposed to mitigate dysphoria, but as far as I know it doesn't necessarily eliminates it.

I actually agree on the whole biological or birth sex being the one where you compete in sport related activities.

>It sterilizes children and immensely increases their odds of suicide with or without the horrible body mutilation surgery. How can anyone see that as acceptable?

This is a slippery slope imo. Why are you obligated to have children when you could adopt? Why aren't depressed people under the same scrutiny than trans people, considering depressed people are a) more common b) very unproductive for society. In my opinion it's about empathy, being able to empathise with the hardships of the people around you and not think how they are hurting you/challenging your worldview.

>You would become physically ill if you saw some of the horror stories of people who've gotten those surgeries. Even aside from there's the aforementioned points of how it sterilizes children and drives them to suicide. At least the poor lobotomy victims didn't realize what had been done to them some of the time.

I have to admit I laughed at the last joke.

Godspeed anon, even if we don't agree on most things.

Come on. Even in the absence of bullying surely you realize the hell they've condemned themselves to and how death seems like their only salvation from the mistakes they were pushed into.
>>

You believe in consent laws, right? They exist because kids cannot make proper choices before a certain age, right?
Do you think they know what they're doing when they consent to being permanently sterilized or worse? Ask yourself, do they know? Is that moral?

>I have to admit I laughed at the last joke. Godspeed anon, even if we don't agree on most things.
I really have nothing but sympathy for these people and it breaks my fucking heart that this is how so many have decided to solve the problem. The jokes are a defense mechanism at this point.

But see, that's the thing, often times I see these days that people try to paint gender dysphoria as the worst tragedy imaginable, and the worst shit you can ever feel and I just don't buy it.

My family and I have lived through so many tragedies it's not even funny, and most people through the course of their life will do so as well. Everybody has regrets and pain they will never get rid of, yet it doesn't ever cause a 40-60% suicide rate. I just don't buy it. It's not even nearly that high among people who suffer depression, and while I recognize that dysphoria and depression probably go hand in hand, that still wouldn't get such a sky high rate. I believe that dysphoria contributes, but it cannot just be the dysphoria that causes it. Some other factors have to be present, such as post surgery regret.
>>
>>67219823
>But I doubt it's just "well I had the surgery but this damn dysmorphia just completely removes my will to live, better off myself"
I would imagine that, for many, the DYSPHORIA is still there. They still feel uncomfortable in their body, it's just now there's nothing more they can do, nothing they can look forward to that will finally remove this sliver in their mind. No fix, no cure, no relief. Just a lifetime of THIS!

Ghave if you want to be a little pleb shit.
Hapatra or Emmara if you are into janky combo shit.
But, if you want to be an absolute madlad token chad, the real answer is Ulasht

Okay, so on the Doubling Season/Phyrexian Processor combo making me want to try a token deck, I'm looking at options for a Commander on Gatherer and I think I want to make Riku of Two Reflections the Commander, he seems pretty fun for doubling stuff and tokens as a theme and I've never used him for some reason.

Ulasht would definitely be in the 99 if I use Riku as the Commander. I thought of Ghave, and maybe I'll just build both since Fungi/Saprolings were pretty much my first love in the game. Zada's Cantrip chains are the best card draw in red. The only relevant key words are trample, haste, and double strike. First strike doesn't matter when your goblins are larger than the defenders. It sounds like you play in a durdle Meta. Just throw in OG Krenko, Goblin Matron, Goblin Recruiter and make it a goblin tribal deck with some Zada shenanigans.

Flameshadow Counjuring is kinda shit in your deck too since you aren't Running ETB Tokens.
