so it's like warhammer Fantasy with less models
>>
That's what I like about WH: underworlds
>>
>>65142345
Isn't that kinda appealing?
I dunno
>>
It's derived from Bolt Action actually. Still a good game though. The ex-GW guys seem to be doing much better rulesets than GW proper.

It's closer to AoS rather than Fantasy.
>>
>>65142766
Eh, they are making games, sure. But I wouldn't agree they are any better or worse. Too bad they don't go anywhere eh?
>>
>>65144780
Like? Bolt Action is still popular to the point where it has spawned numerous spin offs like the one in the OP.
>>
>>65145132
Bolt action is popular for a niche game in a niche hobby. It's really not comparable to even gw's specialist games

Exit the comic book shop game ghetto at some point, will you?
>>
So it's like infinity but I can use any mini I want
>>
>>65142766

It's actually based off BtGoA

Which is based off Bolt Action.
Which is based off 3rd ed 40k.
>>
It's fun, but why have gnolls and beastmen?
>>
>>65148236

They put Gnolls in because Priestley likes them and North Star have released a plastic boxset.
>>
>>65142345
What? It's nothing like it. Small units in open order, dice bag activation rather than alternating entire turns.

As an aside I don't much like Bolt Action as a WW2 game, but aside from that the fundamentals are solid. Not hugely interested in Gates of Antares either, so now, the release of a setting agnostic fantasy adaptation really has me really interested.
>>
>>65142766
I wouldn't call Bolt Action a good game, it hasn't improved much from 40k, which was already quite stagnant in terms of game design.
>>
bump
>>
Are there scans of this floating about yet?
>>
>>65146120
You would only think this if you only ever played in LGS

Historicals are way bigger than GW ever will be
>>
Is this the year of fantasy wargaming? This has dropped, Saga's fantasy sourcebook is next month, Oathmark is being proofread currently...
>>
quick bump before bed
>>
Has a pdf of this dropped yet? I'd be genuinely curious to give it a go, but want to see what the quality's like before I drop £30 on a rulebook.
>>
>>65142345
So it's not warhammer? That sounds pretty cool anon. Perhaps this time you'll try something new instead of sticking to the cheeto stained usual.
>>
>>65158682
I always try before I buy, hasn't been a peep on this one yet.
>>
>>65146220
You can do that too in infinity.
