>>64574110ST does affect the games unfortunately.

>>64574110>>64574146>doesn't talk about games

Is this the worst design in the entire history of Star Wars? Maybe all of sci-fi, even?
>>64574110Wait, how often do people even respond to the OP? Or look at it at all instead of search for /swg/ in the catalog and go? For that matter, why would someone, if they are baiting, just use the OP and if that doesn't work go, "Shucks, foiled again!" Wouldn't they just shitpost anyway?>>64573982Have you ever wanted to punch a gungan so hard you hulk out, destroying your own oxygen line? Roidtroopers are the best.
>>64574275No and no. You're confusing how you feel about the uninspired and shamefaced reuse of an old design with a genuine distinction of bad/worst.
>>64574336What are you even saying here? Speak English.
>>64574191And every time only you throw a fit, nobody else cares about the op
New episode of Resistance. Okay, a bunch of meddling kids beat a Stormtrooper retarded. The armor really does do nothing. I feel like we're supposed to sympathize with the First Order by this point.
>>64574384So its the same problem as SW rebels?
>>64574357Seems clear to me. The problem appears to be on your end, sir. You might want to get checked out.
>>64574260right after ewoks, hopefully
>>64574402>split turbines goodcringe
>>64574275
>>64574395There's arguably a healthy distinction. Stormtroopers of the Empire were largely recruits, whereas the Stormtroopers of the First Order are abducted children turned into soldiers. Mind you THAT part doesn't come up very often.
>>64574110Speaking of games, I ran this list at a tourney recently and went 3-0 with it. I hated that Supernatural went up but I am absolutely loving Hater Vader. >>64574430And you're complaining about other's command of the English language? Your comprehension is weak, too. Nobody said they were good.
>>64574357His point is clear, I'm guessing you are just deeply confused.
>>64574529I'd guess he's baiting based on the responses. He really seems to want to start shit over this.
>>64574110>>64574191It's just an old PA fag.
>>64574446>>64574495>>64574529I'm talking bad/ugly in terms of appearance, which the T-70 is, not in terms of its functions in-universe, which aren't all that different from the T-65.
>>64573982Gungans suck but are still 100x better than any droopy, earth-colored yak-face thing from the ST. I'd rather watch a movie about fucking Jar Jar at this point than IX.
>>64574597>I'm talking bad/ugly in terms of appearanceThere are a ton of Uglies which can compete with the T-70 for ugliness. And of course, there's also all of Sienar's Sillies which /swg/ likes to joke about so much.
>>64574675In-universe Uglies actually have that Mad Max appeal to them. No one with taste likes the T-70.
>>64574753Uglies and the T-70 are both horrible.
>the First Order apparently had even more military power than the NR even BEFORE nuking Bosnia Prime>black chick telling war orphans "i'm sure the genocide of your people was for a valid reason"what the fuck even is resistance
>>64574380>implying /swg/ is only one personI'm not that guy and I agree, OP is a fag
>>64574357it's not a bad design, you're just butthurt.
>>64574865To be fair with that first point, the NR did make the horrible mistake of demilitarizing en masse during the interbellum.
>>64574905Butthurt at what?
My hand will forever hate me for doing this with a mouse with glitchy laser but here's a Solo version of the TIE BigGun aka TIE Experimental Mk.II
>>64574384He did slam headfirst into a railing, take ANOTHER blow to the head, and then get tazed at least once. Even with a good helmet a good shot on the first two is still gonna rattle your brain pan.
>>64574985can you make this >>64574275 look actually good
>>64574597The T-70 isn't a bad design. The s-foils could stand to be a bit thicker, in my opinion, but the design harks right back to the original concept art while maintaining a clear lineage with what we saw in the OT. If we want to talk ugly, we should look at the CF9 Crossfire. That, in my opinion, is a ship that got hit with the ugly stick all the way from the design board to the production line. It manages to look entirely ridiculous with the 's-foils in front of fuselage' design, and then makes things worse by having that fuselage resemble a truck. And don't get me started on the TIE Predator.
>>64575033I did a Stealth T-65/T-85 schematic mashup some threads back. That kinda counts, right?
>>64575084Well, the T-85 is actually decent looking. T-70 is just total shit though.
>>64575084Could use more Raptor influence.
>>64574467RAC/Vader will be hyperspace legal soon
>>64574908>apparently a fairish amount of time prior to TFA starting, Poe's still doing random shit and got called on a dumb adventure fairly recently>kaz gets hard info the FO is gathering more naval power than the entire NR alreadyIf this shit doesn't get destroyed or intercepted before the Resistance gets a hand on it they and the NR are even more retarded than we initially thought.
>>64575168How many years before TFA are the events of the Resistance cartoon?
>>64574985Imagine being in a ship hit by that meaty boi
>>64575165Is that a good list? How do you like to build RAC, in addition to Tua? I'm not as experienced with the Decimator in 2.0. Last time I flew it was in 1.0.
>>64575226According to the Wook, the Brute's guns are just regular laser cannons so it's only about as painful as being shot by an X-wing. Still not as painful of a cockslap as that one anon's quad-turbo model.
>>64575255>so it's only about as painful as being shot by an X-wingCan't be accurate, a TIE's basic guns are demonstrably that effective already.
Anyone got a deck plan for the hwk-1000?
>>64575333oops, never mind. Found one. Not perfect, but here we are for anyone else wanting to find one.
>>64575228Tua won't be in hyperspace, so excluding her.I have no idea if the list works in extended, there's much scarier stuff to fight off. In hyperspace, RAC just needs to make sure you take out Poe or Han so Vader can endgame the rest.
>>64575333This is the best I've got, but it's far from good.It feels way too wasteful of interior space/wrong scale, so I'll probably redesign it sometime.
>>64575421Ah, right. Forgot she isn't in the pack. And I see the idea. Kallus and Krennic might be the way to go then to take out high init aces.
>>64575526Kallus or 5th bro, yeah. And BT-1 is fine as a cheap minor Poe deterrent.
>>64575202Resistance starts at 6 months before TFA
>>64575255on the note of modifying ships: it'd be kind of pointless, but would bombers make decent micro-freighters with a little conversion?I mean, bombs are not exactly small payloads, so empty those out and maybe you could fill it with cargo?
>>64574865i'm genuinely baffled how we went from "the first order's shady but seem to have good intentions" to a marginal step above flat-out going SheevHitler did nothing wrong in the span of two episodes
>>64575555In that case Seventh Sister would be really fun against Poe. Surprise him by flying a lot closer than he expects and tractoring or jamming him when he goes for the double action.
>>64575632TIE Bomber hulls have been modified into shuttles in Legends, so hauling small quantities of cargo instead isn't too far-fetched.
>>64575642It almost seems that Disney, trying to market the First Order, is trying to make them more sympathetic than the Empire when the First Order is even more fanatical than the Empire at its height.
>>64575598>Resistance will be six months before TFA>Towards the end we're getting entire seasons set in a single 24 standard hour period
>>64575632It's already got shuttle and boarding craft variants, so I suppose it could work. It'd be pretty short-range without a hyperdrive, though. Probably only good for transport within a single system or between larger ships.

>>64575147T85 looks like shit dumbass.
>>64575758Way better than the T-70.
>>64575751
>>64575751Okay, but when are we getting Galactic Battlegrounds starfighters?
>>64575796
>>64575688There's nothing to be sympathetic about. We the audience know that they orchestrated a kidnapping of the governor's daughter and backstabbed some pirates for good PR over it, and Kylo apparently had some practice before ganking the Jakku village. Meanwhile Finn's sassy sister is going to bat for both them and an illegitimate government that committed multiple proven acts of mass genocide within her employer's lifetime because at least grandpa made an honest wage off of loading up the Tabanna-B. Shit's weird.
>>64575808
>>64575692they've said they will likely end up pushing past itthe LEGO show also pulled that off (and somehow made bosnia prime have a slight emotional impact given the characters that were witnessing it in that would actually slightly give a shit the NR just imploded.)
>>64575823
>>64575785How the fuck do you figure?
>>64575847
>>64575684>>64575718neat. Probably not specifically the TIE-bomber though, unless we're talking about some atmospheric freight hauler, and I'm sure there's plenty better things out there.>>64575838>Even Lego does better with Star Wars than Disney...

>>64574865Imagine pairing the "First Order is not a splinter faction and is literally the Imperial Remnant" premise with the "New Republic is the galactic government now" setting and boiling things down to Snoke being dead and having Kylo chase like four people across the galaxy to an unknown destination before episode 9 begins. At least there's Black stormtrooper and no Skywalker characters to care about anymore amirite??

>>64576262That's what I've been saying more or less since before 7 came out. Honestly who gives a fuck about some girl from a dirt planet who just so happens to be a force god with zero explanation. She could have been the best actress and the role is still shit.

>>64575893This has got to be at least 6 points. It's goddamn generic as well. It's Countermeasures that is also Cargo Chute and can also be used for one more charge of R2 or BB-8. AT LEAST SIX. Most likely somewhere around the 10 mark.
>>64576228I can see who ever runs Cygnus and Raith Sienar having that level of personal vendetta with each other. >Sienar: Hey Emps i have this awesome TIE that has shields, hyperdrive, awesome engine and cannons>Cygnus: psst Zaarin? >>64576339>Nah m8 that's Obi-Wan's...well hello there.
>>64576015I guarantee he's shitposting.
>>64576352It's also a good bit smaller than RCC, and may have different effects (it's /probably/ just debris, but we don't know for sure)It's quite broadly applicable, though. Half the Rebel faction, and a good chunk of Scum and Resistance, on top of Republic.Do we know if Torrents have astromechs?>>64575847Who would take this over R4? What has red 3 hards or whatever?
>>64574597It's 95% just a usual X-Wing. Unless an X-Wing is the ugliest thing in Star Wars/all of Sci-Fi then it wouldn't quality as either. Given the sheer breadth of horrible designs in the EU AND nucanon comics, however, there are easily far far worse. It's not just shit artists, however, even people who can draw quite well are not always the best ship designers. It's why a lot of tracing ends up happening, not that that's something to excuse either.
>>64576074>Remember when the New Republic was badass and had the greatest Navy the Galaxy ever seen?not really, because they were never featured in anything
>>64574986You forgot them dropping him on some stairs and hitting his head on every step. Kaz even says something like, "Oh it's fine, he has a helmet!" But ze helmet. It does nothing.
>>64576339In fluff, sure, but in practice? RAPIST or his generic counterpart would work really well on enabling Mace. R4's would work as also, but we knew that already.
>>64576377In Legends, Sienar lured away a bunch of Cygnus engineers who ended up designing the Lambda. So there's definitely some animosity between them. The real question is what the CEO of Cygnus is like, seeing as his main business rival is an insane cokehead with a solar panel fetish.
>>64576321OMG MY DREAM CAME TRUE!!!!
>>64576463It's talon rolls. Also ARC-170s

>>64576498Raith is Tony Stark, so Cygnus' CEO should be Bruce Wayne.

>>64576648Raith is pre-Iron Man Tony Stark. The Tony Stark that drank and smoked and injected everything imaginable while designing weapons of war
>>64574291Are there any canon examples of roidtroopers? Roided up stormtroopers that specialize in hulking the fuck out in close range assaults? If the Empire doesn't give that much of a fuck about expandable dudes, make them roid rage so hard they shrug off mortal blaster wounds to kill more rebs before succumbing, the long term health no mattering if they're expected to likely die anyway. At least it could be an interesting enemy in in a vidya game. Sorta like the Siege Johns in Prophet.
>>64576687Closest to roidtroopers would be either the Phase-0 Dark Troopers or Force-infused troopers
>>64574446>>64574597I unironically find the Sun Crusher worse than anything nucanon has come up with so far. I'm honestly pretty indifferent to the T-70, and I hate the pizzaslice much more, or any logic behind anything space combat related in TLJ, or actually, guess the plot too.
>>64574275It's just a regular X-Wing with some subtle changes. It's unoriginal as hell, yes, but the black version has gradually grown on me as it has that Fast and Furious Dodge Charger appeal, so I kind of like it.TFA's designs are uninspired, but generally not too bad. The FO ships look like they could fit in with some Imperial warlord faction, especially the half-built look of the Resurgent. Now if you're looking for actually terrible designs, look no further than that artillery Dreadnought in TLJ or the gorilla walker that sounds like it was named by some edgy high schooler (All Terrain.. MegaCaliber Six what the fuck?)
>>64576683I know what you meant, he's still not. More like what you meant mixed with Civil War Tony who made a cyborg attack dog clone of his friend and Pocket Dimension Gitmo.

>>64576734Starkiller Base is pretty much every well known EU superweapon rolled into one ridiculous plot device so I find it on par with the Sun Crusher in the retardation department.
>>64576486>>64574986It's interesting how their Stormtroopers are basically human droids, now. Faulty Stormtrooper? Mind wipe and reprogram him! This makes me wonder if maybe there's some truth to the theory that Finn was actually conditioned to betray the FO, join the Resistance, in order to place an operative in Leia's camp. Someone so convincing and sympathetic because not even he knows he's secretly following orders.
>>64576862>dat subtle wilhelm scream
So it's canon that you can't see out of stormtrooper helmets and they are responsible for their poor aim.So why do they use them
>>64576782Can it use its engines as jump jets, kind of like the new WH30k Contemptor variant?
>>64576910Pretty much the only interesting direction they can go with him at this point. Maybe Rose didn't convince him to join The Cause with her stupid animal rights crusade, she just helped trip a deep programming switch. All his newly held beliefs would potentially be a lie.
>>64576896At least Starkiller Base had the courtesy of being fuck hueg, and not just some vaguely fighter sized ship that lmaos through capital ships and worse. I was a little disappointed that Starkiller Base got blown up that easily too, making it literally just another bigger Death Star that did nothing.
>>64576842Yeah, I'm going with the gorilla option.
>>64576987Starkiller Base ate a sun. I would actually buy a ram-piercer ship over that.
>>64576910>>64576979I actually how they do something like this. I actually liked Finn, I'm annoyed they're wasting the oppertunity they have to do something interesting with him being a Stormtrooper.
>>64576946Because toxic white dudes who ask questions, like you, need to leave the fandom.
>>64576987I'm curious why they never mounted that miniaturized Death Star tech on a ship.
>>64576946Just like in real life, not to get your head fragged, protection from blunt damage, built-in rebreather and air supply. Btw, mouse comic is not canon and P3 helmets provide a perfectly fine view.
>>64576946I willfully ignore any explanations for shitty Stormtrooper aim that isn't plot armour. They're uniformly too stupid to not cheapen the setting.

>>64576946Most of the other answers plus it turns a Stormtrooper into a faceless mook, which is not to be underestimated as a psychological tool. Stormtroopers all look identical in their armor, thus the reputation of the best of them, rumors of the worst they have done, become impressed upon even the weakest Stormtroopers. They are all seen as the same. Why doesn't the weakest Stormtrooper screw over the reputation of the best of the best? Because there are so goddamn many of them it really doesn't matter how many die in an operation so long as wave after wave of white armored doom crashes upon their enemies.
>>64577105Those are EU, the mini-DS comes from The Last Jedi which also gave us a super duper siege dreadnought ship. You'd think giving that a version of the Death Star would work. It doesn't need to crack a planet into bits, just the shot that hit Jedha was enough to doom the place.

So in an interview with Fifth Trooper podcast, one of the legion devs said that his favorite list to test was "Krennic, x1 Death Troopers, x3 E-WEBs, and 6 of a unit(s) he can't talk about yet". So for one, that's a pretty good marker that more Corps units are coming, and if this list was being tested alongside krennic and death troopers, then Shoretroopers is likely, though not a guarantee.

>>64581150Wasn't it also pretty good against bullets such? Although technically that does contradict what happens with the Ewoks...
>>64581085To be fair, it's hard for "something" to be worse than "nothing".
>>64581118Not that guy but it seems to be super versatile, perfectly usable on space stations like the Death Star, deserts like Tatooine, a few modifications and it works on Hoth, it works in forests like Endor’s forest moon, etc. For a space empire, this is a major logistics advantage.
>>64581216>it works in forests like Endor’s forest moonUntil a teddy bear hits you with a rock.
>>64581234Yes, weighty objects to the head tend to fuck a person up.
>>64581211It's resistant to bullets and shrapnel in Legends, yes. The Ewoks were not running around with MP5s and AKs. A man wearing the best bullet-resistant infantry armor today may still suffer from some bleeding and blunt force trauma when he is speared, stoned, and clubbed instead of shot at, especially when the enemy aims for the weak points where the bullet-resistant plate does not cover.
>>64581303Yeah, fair enough.
>>64581303Also, to go full RotJ apologist, we don't actually see the Ewoks succeed at much man-to-bear. We see stormtroopers get knocked down, but that's it. The camera never lingers long enough to confirm that any of them actually die from spears or rocks.Considering the flow of the battle, I'd say it's entirely reasonable that the Ewoks were only effective in surprising the Imperials and causing a distraction, and not much more. Once the Imperials get their act together we see it turn into a complete slaughter (until Chewie steals an AT-ST.)
>>64581234>>64581376Not to mention the Ewoks are a bad argument because we know, verifiably, on record, they didn't come into being because of actual lore and background on Imperial armor and its effectiveness or lack thereof, but specifically to promote merchandising. Even then, the Ewoks mainly used swarm tactics and were instructed to aim their spears at the armor's joints. So how hard DID the empire come down on Force Sensitives? Sure, they were either killed or abducted to become hunting dogs, but what about their families? Root and branch? Depends on their station?
>>64581552>>64580864You can quibble but yeah, that's pretty damn flat. The design, however marginally sloped, and sure the anon who first pointed it out mentioned that it has some incremental tiers, it's still, well, flat. I don't think anyone is demanding a tower quite like a regular ISD, but even the Mon Cal cruiser is far more built up. Even the cursed Mandator has a bridge structure, or is that a spoiler? Jesus that thing is butt ugly even when you discount the fact it flies around with its floppy dongus hanging out.And I say all of that as the anon here >>64580791 . I'll take it, but I'm not going to pretend it isn't still pretty flat and (using the thread's new favorite word) uninspired.
>>64581834Speaking of the pizza's bridge, why is it the entire width of the hull? What's even up there that they need all that space?
>>64581756Not very. It's practically impossible to find every single Force sensitive in the galaxy toi recruit/imprison/kill. While open Jedi or those who actively use Force abilities would attract attention, especially Palpatine's innate ability to sense Force users, they'd most likely be ignored. A tiny percentage of the galactic population is Force sensitive, but that's speaking relatively - dozens of millions of people, and the vast majority have no idea about it. Force sensitivity is arguably not that big of a deal unless one learns to use it, and even then it's not likely to draw attention unless they're trying to get it. Of course actively trying to become a Jedi/Sith/other cult will get the hammer brought down, or get you recruited for special duties if need be (EU had force-sens stormtroopers for example).
>>64581881You expect a reasonable design or efficient structure, and to subvert that you get neither.
