>Oxford City game
>Clayton has just dropped out of 8.03 average range
>he's on 39 goals
>Tshimanga is on 21 assists, nearing 30 goals and has the highest pass % in the team
Clayton has improved a bit and is now 5* current ability (at least based on my assistant view). We're gonna easily win the league. Still not lost because Clayton and Tshi have got like nearly 70 goals between them. Just gotta beat Bristol Rovers to get into the 5th round of the FA Cup and then get twatted by some PL team and watch the board go 'WE ARE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS RESULT'.

Also, why does the media say your team is expected to win even if the team you're playing is way higher division than you? It seems to take fucking form into the equation. Fuck off.

What's going on in this thread?
Anyhow is BWM the worst role or what? Maybe they are better with worldclass players but I always found them trash in low league teams
>>
>>92776436
Bwm(s) in a three man Midfield with a dlp(d) and cm(a) is goat for me at lower leagues
>>
>>92776214
Had the same in league 1. 2nd round of Carabao we had Crystal Palace who we somehow beat and this wasn't even considered the highlight of the month.
3rd round my fans were disappointed i didnt beat Man U, who had just come off a quadruple season
>>
>>92776436
It was shit in previous FMs, where it had Close Down Much More locked in. Feels easier to use this year.
>>
>>92776255
3rd keeper was tall enough, but he had a slow reaction [in part because his teammate blocked vision of the shot]

2nd one could have reached it if he didn't have a crap reaction time

1st is the closest that you can blame on height, but let's be honest the striker played that really well.
>>
any of you ever done a "home city only" challenge? so only using players from your club's city.
I'm at Valerenga in Oslo and think it mite be cool to only use players born in Oslo.
>>

it just seems cruel at this point

Literally ripping teams apart with direct passing, after luring them in. Once their fullbacks commit, you're guaranteed a 3v2 situation upfront and because of the high mentality, nobody thinks twice before exploiting the space.

apologies in advance for this embarassing question, but
how the fuck do you manage a national team? like, how do I become a national team manager in the first place. never did it, genuinely dont know. pls help
>>
>>92777417
Same way you become a manager, except there's no contract negotiations. Also, don't bother, it's a waste of time.
>>
>>92777417
>how do I become a national team manager

I mean, you can either choose it at the start or wait for job offers. You should get plenty a few years into the save.

>how the fuck do you manage a national team

You don't. Seriously, it's a clusterfuck. SI never bothered improving national management, so it becomes very boring, very fast.
>>
>>92777417
You either apply for jobs [and get laughed out in the news section] or gain enough reputation to get national teams to call you at interviews

Being a national team manager can be helpful if you're playing on a team with limited scouting capabilities since you could get a good read on every player from that nationality and get increased personal scouting knowledge too. Other than that it's kind of a meme.

Find good loan players, preferably teenagers. Works every time. They'll be too good for your league, improve even further throughout the year, and you can often renew the loan 3-5 times until their contract runs out and you sign them for free.

>too good for the Premier League

I didn't think you were too retarded to figure out to get a better player than a 3rd div tier player by the time you're in the EPL, man. I thought you were in the Championshpi
>>
>>92781117
Its not being retarded or not, its not having the money or time. I had a League One squad and then got promoted. Most of my team are "leading Championship"
>>
>>92781117
the post was also about me being in the Premier League, dunno how you were so retarded as to not being able to read
>>
>>92781167
why do you have so many players under contract that you cant simply get like 10 PL-ready starters on loan? sounds like its on you desu to have money tied up in contracts in the LLM stage of the game where you jump divisions every year.
>>
>>92781207
Do you not think I tried to get players in on loan? Turns out, getting players on loan who are "Premier League ready" is hard and those players are pretty rare, especially when there's a cap on domestic talent and the best I could get is a Ukranian hot prospect striker. I loaned three players and the best of those is a Championship level player.

Altidore is on double the wage of Wayne Rooney. Bradley made three times as much as Almiron. You really don't think toronto should be laughed at for this?
>>
>>92786845
All MLS teams should be laughed at if they spend their money on 30+ year old washed out players instead of doing the logical thing like Atlanta and finding young-to-peak players in the Americas who will play for cheaper desu
>>
>>92786859
Most MLS teams literally just sign Euro's past their prime

>>92786895

>>
>>92786502
does he have aids?
>>
>>92786845
Well Altidore was 7 years younger than Rooney when he signed with TFC and Bradley last played in Italy rather than Argentina. In the end with DP slots being a thing it all costs the same to the clubs.

But since the two joined, Toronto has appeared in more MLS Cup Finals than anyone but Seattle and Portland, has won more Finals than any other MLS side outside Portland, Seattle, and Atlanta, became only the 3rd MLS side in over a decade to reach the CCL Final, and then had the best season ever in MLS in 2018. Also the Canadian Championships, if we're still counting silverware. The two have been massive in the success TFC has had since they joined.

So go ahead and laugh I guess, but no one who has been around the club is going to care if you do. They'll just see another American who still isn't over missing out on the 2018 WC and is looking for an outlet.

>But since the two joined, Toronto has appeared in more MLS Cup Finals than anyone but Seattle and Portland
By virtue of luck in cup runs. Outside of 2017 they've been distinctly average midtable in MLS.

>has won more Finals than any other MLS side outside Portland, Seattle, and Atlanta,
really says more about the league allowing random 6th place shitters to even be in the final at all
going by how a league is actually measured, toronto won easily in 2017 and in every other season has been mediocre at best

>became only the 3rd MLS side in over a decade to reach the CCL Final
its nice that they made it, but they lost. They also shouldn't have even been there, a qualification for an MLS team through the canadian championship is retarded. they lost the final to a team who had never been out of the group stages before

>and then had the best season ever in MLS in 2018
they finished 2018 with 36 points from 34 games

>Also the Canadian Championships, if we're still counting silverware.
those definitely don't count when they get entered in the second to last round and their competition is teams who weren't even good enough to be invited to the canadian premier league

I don't think they're absolute shit, but they're being massively overpaid. Are you actually going to tell me that Bradley is worth 5 Josef Martinez's and Altidore is worth a Rooney and Zlatan? The two have a combined 1 (one) team of the week appearance so far this season after 11 games. In 2018 Toronto paid Jozy ~$710,000 for each of his seven goals. These two have an impact once every five games and then spend the next five injured.

If I was just salty over not qualifying, I would be salty at people like Gulati and Arena, not necessarily the players. Not qualifying was a freak occurrence that took three games to have specific results. The only player I'm actually upset at is Omar Gonzalez, as the only fucking ball he got to before a T&T player that night he put into the back of his own net.

You know I meant 2017.

I just think it's odd that you're asking why a guy, who has watched the likes of Koevermans, Frings, Gilberto, Defoe, and many others fail, doesn't think that TFC should be ridiculed for the players who finally brought the club out of mediocrity. All three of them are club legends. It doesn't matter how many more down years they have with TFC. The city stands behind them.

>I just think it's odd that you're asking why a guy, who has watched the likes of Koevermans, Frings, Gilberto, Defoe, and many others fail, doesn't think that TFC should be ridiculed for the players who finally brought the club out of mediocrity.

But the team is still in mediocrity. One stellar season followed by returning to languish in midtable is exactly what Toronto has done.
