I'm kinda seething. Not because Juve got through, or even because the penalty was called since Correa extends that arm like a fucking brainlet.
I despise Simeone and Juve would have won in the extra time since Atletico's defense was embarassing and absolutely panicked on every corner. I don't even know how Correa got outpaced by a gassed Bernardeschi.
But I'm seething because this takes me back on how the fuck the penalty on Schick wasn't called. Pretty much the same dynamic of the foul, excepts Marega actually touches the back of Schick's foot meanwhile Bernardeschi trips himself before being """""pushed"""""
I know that Roma would have probably went out on the next round and we would have kept those two brainlets of EDF and Monchi until the end of the season which means that in the long run it might be better like this but the state of these refs and VAR usage just pisses me off.
Glad Simeone got btfo though.

Great game plan & team selection from Allegri. Great execution from his players. Element of surprise with Can in a back 3. Spinazzola fantastic on his CL debut. Bernardeschi an even bigger positive. Juve ullied the full-backs with ISOs in 1v1 or back post crosses.

you could argue Bernardeschi was half dead after that sprint and the only thing he could have done was dive there
>>91426935
Neither Bernardeschi was. He was out of balance with only a possible pass to Kean and 4 defenders around them.
Also while I agree that a penalty should only be given on a goal scoring situation, that's not what the rules say, otherwise it wouldn't have been a penalty for Porto either considering there was no way to get to that . Fuck I remember a Roma Milan or Milan Roma, ages ago, where I think Burdisso fouled Nesta while he was back to the goal next to the end of the pitch with no way of getting out of here. If it's a foul it's a penalty, no matter the situation.
>>
>>91427004
This is because you don't know the style of training Allegri does.
Allegri trains people in the gym like Goku in DBZ. His theory is that if you survive that harsh regimen when the season gets rough you'll be able to fly on the pitch. Verbatim "we'll fly in March" which is why he was betting everything on this game.
Of course, he omits the part where you tear your muscles for months, which is why Juventus only has a few moments of speed and then falls back down.
If you remember the 2017 season they burned through Barcelona and Monaco, and then during the whole month leading up to Cardiff they were completely dead.

I have a fairly good grasp of the early fatigue notion of pre season training.

i remember. They train at least twice a day 6 days of the week when they aren't playing and I pretty sure they do 7 day weeks when they have a lot of fixtures.

berna similar to chiesa is one of the fittest "young" italians in football with the amount of running they are able to do on and off the ball.

We won bro, it's time to be happy and celebrate. Friday we pray for Oporto, Ajax or even Man United. Just dont give us City or Barcelona.

I absolutely think this Juve squad has no business winning the CL and this game doesnt change that
>1st goal is literally a good cross by Berna and Ronaldo being stronger and jumping higher
>2nd goal is Ronaldo being stronger and jumping higher
>3rd goal is a mistake by them, good play by Berna and Ronaldo finishing it off.

It's not like Juve had well built plays or played good football. They showed great spirit and fought very hard, absolutely dominated and did what they had to do but a top top team with top top players wont play like Patetico did today.

But yeah, i didnt know Spinazzola and he was really good. Cancelo was a bit shit but got better as the game went one. Can and Matuidi fought hard but offered very litle in other aspects of the game. Pjanic tried to move tha ball around well. Berna was great, Mandzu invisible, Ronaldo got the job done.

I'm actually amazed Juventus still did the usual millions of crosses tactics but this time it somehow fucking worked against a bigger team.
Ronaldo is a machine. I never really liked him before he joined Juventus but he always impressed me with his hard work. If a 34y/o player scores a hattrick in the 1/8 of CL to push his team further, man, that's some shit you don't see every day.

Pjanic and Matuidi should just switch positions and it should work WAY better than it does now. Frenchman is usually way too far up while Bosnian is too deep. If that changed, I could see the Juventus' midfield actually being a threat.

I still don't believe Allegri let Kean play 10 minutes in the 1/8 of CL, especially since he didn't put him in at all besides the last match against Udinese and the Coppa Italia match.

I gotta admit, I didn't believe in the win. At all. Especially since what I saw watching almost all of the Juve matches this season (the only ones I didn't watch live was because I was at work), that certainly didn't look like Juventus was coming back. Fucking christ, 1/8 of CL and we already saw those comebacks you don't see every day
>>
>>91427708
>a top team with top top players wont play like Patetico did today
they won't defend any better though than atletico though. granted jj will be tested more defensively but no remaining team is capable of shutting down attacks like they do.

Ajax is good but they are not elite plus it would be another Dutch "total football" vs Italian "catenaccio" battle and everybody knows how those end up.

They looked better than what they are because they played against a shitty version of Real (reminder that CSKA won 3-0 at the Bernabéu)

“It was always going to be a special night: and it was, not only for the goals, but for the team. This is the mentality of champions, this is the journey to follow: we enjoyed a magical night. Atletico were a difficult team, but we were strong too. We will see what will happen…”

JOAO CANCELO

“This victory was important for the team. In the week, we worked well and we deserved this success. Ronaldo? He’s fantastic. Now we will think about the league, we want to win against Genoa.”

LEONARDO BONUCCI

“It’s a great night for the Juventus family, and we responded on the field. In the first leg, we were missing something, but today, we gave everything, and Allianz Stadium was our 12th man in an incredible night. What was said in recent weeks touched us and we pulled out something more. But now we want to win in Genoa, to continue our journey and prepare a great month of April.”

BLAISE MATUIDI

“It was an extraordinary night for everyone - a special night from the first minute. We are very happy, and now we are moving ahead with our work. We want to continue to grow in order to progress further in the Champions League. We have a strong team, and Cristiano is the best player in the world.”

FEDERICO BERNARDESCHI

“The team has played an extraordinary match from all points of view, especially in terms of awareness. We knew we could do it, we always believed. We were united, and every day the desire to believe in it (a comeback) grew.”

Why did JJ give up Benatia for Boipucci i will never understand
>>
Lads, i feel bad for Dybala. This was his team and now he doesnt even start, yet hes happy or at least pretends to be.

He deserves better
>>
Let's talk seriously for a moment:
Find me another coach at high levels that in desperate times, like "you fucked up big and you're fired if you lose again" situation thinks of putting Emre-chan as a CB in a 3-4-3 so Cancelo can push forward, and in this regard I'd like to address >>91428285 because Dybala is done in UCL. This 3-4-3 only works with Bernardeschi going beast mode next to Cancelo. With Dybala it's just not the same.
>>91428216
Desperate to make cash after buying Ronaldo. Nobody wanted Higuain so Milan offered them a deal they couldn't refuse: it is either Bonucci for Caldara AND then we buy Higuain or nothing.
Juve couldn't turn them down. After Bonucci was back, Allegro thought it was better to play the demon he knew than the demon he didn't.
Tbqh, both are known to "one fatal mistake a game" CBs so it was a pick your poison situation. It's totally possible Chiellini plays better with his old time buddy next to him, and you have to keep him happy.

This is shit-tier analysis mate. I’m an Inter customer but I have to admit Juventus played very well tonight and scored two quality goals. Best I’ve seen them play in Europe for a long time actually, maybe since the 3-0 Barca game.

anyone else notice how much better juve's passing was today? anytime atletico came close they passed it to each other well. wasn't as static as it usually is but still not as dynamic as it should be. normally the team would get the ball in their third and just kick it out to the opposition. allegri deserves some credit for that, but i still dont like him.

Atletico specialty is exactly playing anti-football and shutting down any intricate play or deep pass, so cross-spamming on a fucking Chad cyborg while DZU draws some attention was the most legitimate tactic.

Dybala sealed his fate for me with his histeric "performance" vs Madrid last year.
Literally throwing a tantrum and leaving your team in 10 men because defenders wouldn't let you do your epic dribbling tricks.
Also sub 180 cm tall players have no place in modern football, there can be maybe one Messi or two but the moment defenders watch some videos about you you're done.

CR7 can do what he does at 34 also because he's physically pushing like a 20 years old when he can, Dybala has no physical presence in comparison, ends up getting into someone's pocket every important match.
>>
>>91429562
Thanks for showing me the same image I've seen while watching the match and has been posted here repeatedly.
The image that shows that the ball didn't completely go in.
>>
>>91429628
>Also sub 180 cm tall players have no place in modern footbal
Interesting statement to say the least.

Dybala's game is totally different than Ronaldo's. The best Juve version has to involve both of them, they are the squads best players
>>
>>91429591
>Kean didn't get a ball right in front of the GK on a stupid long pass
>Ronaldo didn't blow a simple stop on a Bonucci long pass
>Berna didn't cut through their defence with a sprint before the penalty
Also changing the side with fresh Dybala made them even more confused.

If it went to extra time it would have been 4-0.
>>
>>91429711
Dybala was born a Suarez, he grew up a Suarez, he'll die a Suarez. He's the same mold of Tevez, Suarez, Aguero. He has fuck all to do with Messi.
He became a poor man's Del Piero in Turin because Juventus has a maniacal obsession with le number 10 playmaker.
Originally he had to play as a right IF because Juve had no midfield after Berlin, so the team had to play low and he had to pick up the ball and run to the goal by himself. He still scored 23 times.
After Higuain came, they both collided: when Higuain scored, Dybala choked because Higuain was in his way, and viceversa.
tl;dr give Dybala to someone that'll play him as a 9 and he'll score like Aguero.
>>
>>91429656
You have a perfect still, you see the ball enlightened while the camera zooms in and there's absolutely no movement or change of angles that can make you think the image was modified.
I don't know what else do you need, and I don't even care, if you want to keep staying mad over this match you're free to, I'm going to stay happy af
>>
>>91429711
>Interesting statement to say the least.
I'm exaggerating probably, but from what I'm seeing in modern football or even at the last WC is big sprints and people pushing each other away in side-by-side being more prominent than ever, of course technique is also important but the EPL for example is super physical, Serie A may be a joke but last year Napoli's matches AND Italy's NT are an example of how much being fit and strong is important in today's football.

Hell you can compare Bernardeschi body from this year to the last 2 years, he now has broad shoulders and actual chest compared to the lanklet form from the Fiorentina times.

You also need extreme speed to execute those cutting passes that create problems to tight defenses, etc.etc.

Mbappe is another good example.
>>
>>91429810
Interesting point, he does look like he's always twitching to do something whenever he gets subbed in.
>>
>>91429951
He's asshurt that now there's an actual world class striker in the penalty area, someone he can't even remotely think of challenge for the spot, he's double asshurt because Ronaldo factually prefers Mandzukic on one leg as his partner because Mandzukic's figure takes away CBs from Ronaldo, and he's triple asshurt because he was sort of arranged to play a role Bernardeschi is genetically engineered to play, and it shows.
Dybala is good but he's in the wrong place at the wrong time. And now that Juve has got a +18 lead and they made it to the QF, Moise Kean will play a lot, and if the guy proves to be reliable, Dybala is practically out for good.
>>
Schick > Morata
>>
>>91430048
I know he didn't have much of a say in it because of the clause Real put it, but he never should have left Juve
>>
>>91429828
The ball needs to go in completely for it to be a goal. Those are the rules.
The ball isn't completely in.
Before GLT and VAR this would have never counted as a goal.

>I don't know what else do you need
Oh nothing much...just a clear fucking angle from the back and an actual close-up.
The fact that they even went as far as cutting the last replay in such an awkward fashion(it shows CR hitting the ball with his head but it doesn't show the ball going in, instead it cuts to him celebrating...where on earth do you see that kind of camerawork? When replays always show the damn ball going inside the goal.)
>>

That's pretty good. Why cant he play with Ronaldo up front in a 4-4-2 or something like that? Im not going to pretend that ive followed Dybala's whole career and know where he's at his best and where he isnt. Everytime i used to catch him i really enjoyed his game and there's no way he isnt Juve's best 2nd player at least talent wise. Not being used well by Allegri the way i see it

I disagree with Dybala and Higuain not playing well together.
The best matches of Dybala were probably the few ones played in a 4-4-2 with Higuain

I see Dybala as a slightly worse Griezmann. Griezmann is better because he is faster, which allows him to play as a winger, as he did in the world cup (Giroud was the centerforward, Mbappe and Griezmann were wingers)

dybala has always been a striker, but his ability on the ball made juve want him as a 10. His seasons at palermo when he played in front of big franco shows it in the simplest form.

sorry for this blogpost
Many Argentines today were reminded of a Copa Libertadores match of the 2000 between River and Boca.
Back then River had Aimar and Saviola and had beaten Boca at home, when they went to play at the Boca stadium for the second lef, the coach decided to play with 6 defenders, to defend the result, with very cowardly tactics, and ended up losing 3-0.
I felt the same, Cristiano was huge today, but Atletico played a very cowardly pathetic defensive match. They lost because of Simeone, and a loss of that kind here generally forces the coach to quit.
I don't think Simeone has it in him to win a Champions league.
The last 2 titles they won (Europa League and Supercup) were won with Burgos as the coach, because Simeone had been banned from the stadium. I think he would have done a better job today.
>>
>>91430298
>But it clearly shows the ball is in
It's only 50-60% in.
It has to pass the line completely. It's the same as with Throw-in's and Goal Kicks where if the ball isn't completely out it's still in play.
>>
>>91430363

I agree that Simeon can't win CL with his defensive football but tonight he was clearly robbed.

No doubt he would have been BTFO sooner or later since his team isn't strong enough and his philosophy rarely if ever works in Europe but tonight he was the moral victor.
>>
>>91430388
>I don't think Simeone has it in him to win a Champions league.
Atletico does not have it in them, without Diego Costa they were toothless, Griezmann is in no man's land when they defend(which is most of the time) and Morata disappears during big matches.

Godin, which should have been their wall got dunked on by a 34 years old CR7.
Their midfield is nothing to write home either, they do have the best GK around but it's not much when you're getting shot at left and right.

>What was wrong with the first goal?

Which means jackshit if they disable the sensors in Atleti's goal. Nobody can tell if the sensors are on and off. And heck they could have been on but the VAR team is the only one who can see the GLT.
The CG analysis thing they do can also be easily manipulated in software in real-time since the graphics for that shit are like PS2-tier.

Technology is still handled by people, it's not some magical thing sent from the sky by God.

The camera angles being suspiciously odd doesn't help matters either.

Bernie was touched a bit but only a little bit. It wasn't even a push he just dived.
>>
>>91430465

I don't think he was robbed. You just have to accept the ball technology, the same way in Tennis they have challenges to check were the ball landed.

>>91430507
Ajax played at home and in Madrid exactly the same way. Simeone is one of those guys that makes his team play radically different at home or away.
Ronaldo and Mandzukic are the 2 best forwards at headers, with the whole team defending in their half of the field, they were eventually going to get screwed with headers.

>Barely a starter anymore for Juventus
If they cant use him i hope they sell him although Ronaldo isnt getting younger and it would be nice to have Dybala as a backup plan

>>91430388
Simeone always played like this. You check a random game of Atletico against Leganes or Eibar and you'll find multiple ones where they were out shots and had far less possession.

For the good or the worst Simeone made Atletico. They win their way and lose their way. They would never attack, i remind you that during 1st leg the biggest shock of that match was seeing Simeone looking like an offensive mastermind when compared to Allegri so not even when Atletico was playing at home people expected them to attack.

Europa League is totally different. They had, by far, the best squad and even then we almost knocked them out during quarter-finals. I remember them being super defensive there too and their team was far superior.

Im not going to murder Simeone like everybody is doing now. Ive never liked his style, he is super defensive, by far one of the most boring teams ive ever seen. Today they were more of the same, not a single thing changed
>>

Computers can be used for good(creative stuff, helping make lives easier etc.), but they can also be used for bad(spreading viruses to other computers, hacking into banks/other forms of cyber crime etc.)

>it can't be manipulated on the fucking spot
It can.
The level of graphics they use for the 3DCG analysis isn't very resource-intensive. They're very basic graphics.
You can draw a conclusion in seconds and usually they delay it for a minute to check the other camera angles too just to make sure, this time they didn't.

I'm not even gonna go into specifics such as questioning the efficiency of the technology itself(such as various environmental factors that could possibly affect the sensor or the magnet inside the ball etc.) because that would be beside the point.

Berna's been playing like this since the first game of the season, but Allegri's dragged him and shuffled him around all year... because as you see, he tries a lot of high risk/high reward plays that often fuck up.
Hopefully he stays in the first team from now on.

I'm suggesting that JJ bribed Bjorn Kuipers who is a notoriously corrupt ref.
That and UEFA manipulates most matches in some way to ensure they get the most viewers(this has less to do with JJ).

>What happens if Juve gets kicked out after this match?
They probably will. Depending on who they get, they could get kicked out easily.
If it is Man City I can even see them getting screwed over a bit by UEFA since UEFA will prefer Man City.

Also, we don't know who the next ref could be.
>>
>>91431049
You didn't answer the question because that's not even remotely the same thing: that goal was a ref's decision whether it was a foul or not, now you're saying the technology behind GL has been manipulated in order to make Ronaldo's goal look legit.
What would you do if Piatek scored that goal and I came here and told you the same things you kept repeating?

>Keep in mind you can't say they wanted to forge a Penaldo WWE narrative and then have Juventus kicked out by fucking Ajax or Man City.
I didn't say that.
I did say that Football is now about as real as WWE but I didn't say that UEFA has a Penaldo WWE narrative.

Who knows what narrative UEFA has planned and it's not guaranteed that they won't change their plans.
On one hand Juve winning while being guided by Tsuu could generate a lot of money, but on the other hand Man City being guided to their first CL by Pep Guardiola could earn just as much. Ajax is also a dark horse since they're a historic club which has been dormant for a long time, so there's potential there too.

Milan and Napoli are both reportedly keeping tabs on Atalanta left-sider Robin Gosens.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan sporting director Leonardo has been ‘struck’ by Gosens’ quality and club scouts have watched him in action.

However, the website warns Napoli have enquired about the 24-year-old and that there is also interest from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

In the meantime, Atalanta would have exercised their option to extend Gosens’ contract until 2022.

Inter are reportedly ready to offer long-serving defender Andrea Ranocchia a new contract.

According to Calciomercato.com, Inter want to ‘reward’ Ranocchia for his loyalty and have offered him a one-year extension.

However, the website notes the stopper is holding out for ‘at least two years’ on top of his current deal, which expires this summer.

The 31-year-old has made 193 appearances for the Nerazzurri since arriving from Genoa in 2011, but only five have come this season.

Perhaps because she's both the wife and the agent of Inter's champion? Other agents usually express themselves publicly with even more clamorous utterances, but they're not targeted by the wild critics who only take it out on Wanda Nara.
>I think it's important for us all to do something to restore value to merit and to individual qualities. And to try reduce favoritism, recomendations and "calci nel sedere" (this means kicks in the ass but in a sense of being pushed by others to a promotion).

>>91438196
>>simply won because his team wanted it more
Not even close.
He won because he threw Emre Can "fake" defender and Bernardeschi "fake" midfielder out of nowhere and Simeone had absolutely no idea how to respond
>>
>>91438245
Spinazzola also deserves a mention and how Allegri used him against Arias
>>
>>91438302
About Spinazzola (who in my opinion deserves to be a starter way more than Sandro right now) I agree with people saying that if he had De Sciglio available he would've started him, but he was smart to put a 3 men defense because that's the way Spinazzola can be the most comfortable, like when he played for Atalanta
>>
/sp/ is so full of painfully repressed posters still wondering why their dad left the family. Last night belongs to Ronaldo - he showed his greatness again. Tonight is a chance for Messi
>>
>>91438245
yeah and EDF threw the 3 man defense out of nowhere, with Juan Jesus completely obliterating Messi and making Suarez look like the bad version of Caracciolo.
I haven't even been critical of Allegri but you can't tell me that Atletico panicking on every single cross or Morata not being able to hold a ball for more of three seconds would have happened on the first leg if Allegri fielded the same exact formation as today.
Sure the change helped, but Juve would have caught up anyway with the same old tictocs. When a great defense suddenly can't handle a few crosses (and apart from the goals, they were in shambles on most of them) it's not a matter of tactics. As you said Simeone didn't know what to do but that's mostly on him getting exposed for not being able to change on the fly rather than on Allegri being a mastermind.
There was also a moment after the 2-0 when Allegri changed things up but JJ players didn't understand shit, before the "fight" between Morata and Chiellini IIRC and atletico couldn't string two passes together without giving up the ball, no matter how much Juve was fucking up in those 10 minutes.
>>
>>91438395
Also let me add that since Allegri is not as retarded as EDF, he knows this very well and you won't see Juventus play with this tictoc again just because it worked with Atletico, which will probably prompt all the customers to shit on him once again.

Bernardeschi deserves to be a starter next year, the time has arrived.
I was actually impressed by him more than Spinazzola, if he wasn't bought from Fiorentina I would legit think he played for and supported Juve since he was a kid: pure abnegation.
Sell Dybala if he can't accept to be a sub (because that's his role at this point) and buy a top midfielder and a young top defender and you're good to go

Bernardeschi we always knew could play like this. Dybala is very interesting with Mandzu on his last legs and Kean not fully ready to take over yet. Do you revert back to a 3ATB and play Dybala up top with Ronaldo? Something like a 4-4-2 with those two up top? I would sell him before benching him honestly.
Bernardeschi always plays with that desire. Juve look to offload Costa, Sandro and Khedira most likely in the summer. Costa and Sandro's sales can get them another big player.
>>

De Ligt should be their priority and it would be fantastic if they can get him. I'm sure they'll try to make a move for Tonali as well

>>

>>
>>91454904
I unironically rate James, but his biggest problem is the lack of stability he's had since his Halal years.
btw can I get a quick rundown in Gonçalo Paciência.
>>
>>91454950
Exactly like Ozil. Plus James would have the potential to destroy your lockeroom with all the other sudacas.

Paciência is a strong tall striker, not the typical Portuguese player in that aspect. Not very skillful but not totally useless either. He has been unlucky lately with injuries and never got a decent shot at Porto. He was always seen as someone who could potentially play for Portugal (plus his father was a very well known Porto striker back in the day) but never as highly rated as someone like André Silva for example. Glad he has been scoring for Frankfurt but i dont think he will ever be good enough to be the main striker for them.
>>
cheeky bump
>>
>>91451696
They are ugly wtf
>>
he's back
>>
>>91455148
I find Ozil a bit lazy, still James doesn't have the character to destroy the locker room. He is kind of a whiny little bitch tho.
I've always found Portuguese players interesting. So many of them with different characteristics. Like this Paciencia guy, not one of the top ones but still has his things to offer.

>>
>>91458976
He alone might not have but sudacas can easily destroy a locker room if they get together. He's like the type of guy who listens to loud Luis Fonzi with the other sudacas while the euros look at them

Hes good friends with CR tho and I think both would fit Juventus but they already got Ramsey who imo is the worst out of the 3

To be fair every footballing country is like that. You might just notice it a bit more with Portuguese players because we are too poor to keep Paciência in a team except the big 3 and maybe Braga. And while he isn't good enough to start for any of the big 3 he's way too good for any other team so they have to leave to get paid fairly. If he was Italian he would have a solid Serie A career while playing for mid table and bottom of the table teams and you wouldn't even notice him

Today is the five year anniversary of that time Pallotta, Baldini and friends almost got scammed by Michele Padovano (former Juventus player and drug trafficker), Gigi Moncalvo (former director of La Padania) and a """"Sheik"""" from Perugia.
At the time an official statement was released, confirming the signing of a preliminary contract for the acquisition by the hereditary sheik of Jordan, Adnan Adel Aref Qaddumi, of a majority share of the club.
Pic related is the now deceased "sheik" and Padovano, invited to Olimpico by Baldini himself to sit in the VIP stand.
Most newspapers also took the bait at the time, until a radio show managed to interview him, exposing him as a fraud to everyone.
Rest in peace Adnan, I'm sure right now you're enjoying a harem in your golden palace in Umbria's equivalent of the afterlife.
