has anyone used this? Is it worth getting?
>>3534021No anon, a tiny flash like that is not going to be worth it. You will need something like pic related to get good looking results, otherwise your pic will look like shit
>>3534021Eh not for the $180 they want for it. You could easily get a godox/flashpoint or yongnou wireless controller and a flash or even maybe two flashes at that price range.
>>3534024>>3534026but its so cute , i could get it for $140 and not as intrusive as other flashes for my x100
>>3534042You might as well use the built in flash so you don't have to deal with the battery.
>>3534021How is it any better than the built in flash every camera has?
For some reason the cute tiny flashes are always really expensive. If you want a flash in your coat pocket it looks like it would be a good match.
>>3534042>but its so cute , i could get it for $140 and not as intrusive as other flashes for my x100Just get a FlashQ20 II if you want something cute and tiny. You can also use the tiny transmitters to trigger any flash wirelessly.
>>3534052Off-camera flash is always more pleasing than direct flash built into cameras. Plus you can bounce the flash off walls or at interesting angles. Built in flash normally gives that corny washed out deer in headlight look because you can't direct it anywhere.
>>3534080Wouldn't using a flash controller just undo the bulk you saved with this tiny flash?
It's a low profile metal flash meant for the rangefinder bodies. It's perfect for the job it's meant for. Fuji offers regular style flashes as well which are offered in cheaper and more expensive forms.
always wondered if it was good. i never see them come up locally on the second hand market. it's funny how similar this flash is to the Contax TLA 200. the XPRO series with this flash looks like the Contax G
>>3534081The flash transmitter is tiny. You can also control the Flash Q20 output power with it.
I got one cheap on ebay to pair with my xpro1.In my opinion it has 2 downfalls, no swivel head (fixed straight forward) and it runs on AAA batteries which limits shots and recharge time.Other than that I think people are overly harsh on it. Firstly its built really well, feels premium to match the cameras it was designed for. Secondly, people claim is underpowered.. for what? Its not for lighting up a fucking room, its for a pop of light at parties or something. It 's tiny, smaller than any other flash I've used and I can just pop it in my pocket. If its your main flash, maybe look at grabbing something else but if you know what you are getting and can find one cheap I'd say go for it.Also if you look online there is free files for a 3d printed diffuser for them. >Ef-x20 flash>Gogox TT350F existJust why?
>>3534150Because they don't fill the same niche.
EF-20 and EF-X20 are completely different.
use a flash that you can tilt up 90 degrees, and put a bounce card behind it
>>3534021I got it for my x-pro1 it matched for the small system if I had to had to use flash to light up the scene. picture were just snapshots.>>3534145is brings up a good point its built really well. good for party shots/non intrusive camera>>3534079I have one of these now. haven't had to use it cause I'm too busy with classes to need a flash at parties rn[EXIF data available. >>3534080How would you do that with this flash though, it doesn't look like you can turn it in a different direction or up and down, so essentially just like built in flash
>>3534554yep. so this thing isn't exactly useful, is it?maybe you can rig a mirror or a bounce to the front of your fucking camera or something. seems like you would be better off with a cheap ttl flash that people actually use
>>3534554You can look up more info on the Q20 but you can change the angle. And the hot shoe is actually a wireless trigger so easily pop the flash off your camera and hold it at any direction >>3534576Nothing wrong with ttl but smaller pocket flash can fit in your pocket or a small bag / take up less room in a bag
>>3534554>>3534576You can turn it in different directions. It can swivel up for bouncing off the ceiling. To aim it directions you hold it in your hands and point it where you want. So you get all the benefits of off-camera flash. If you people can't work this out by just looking at the product you must be retarded.
