here it is boys. the book is 300 sumthing pages long. I took a total of 154 pictures.

Maybe only post the good ones?

absolute unit of a book.

some things that stood out.

1. Lots of family pictures. They aren't necessarily good or bad, they feel more personal and would definitely fit on a family album.

2. Lots of the pictures were not taken by him. Of course these are portraits of him.

3. Mirror selfies up the ass. The captions are what makes a lot of this gold.

4. Some of the pictures are actually pretty good, must admit!

how should we proceed?

>>

what? Why not post the entire book?
>>
>>3511737
I could, but again, the family pictures are not really cringey and there are several of those. Basically David Beckham and his kids, doing family stuff.

Again, not good but not bad. I could post some so you get the idea, just that criticizing family pictures is kind of neckbeardy really.
>>

cost me like $10. here is the suggested price.

anyone who paid this much for this book basically paid very little for a great monitor stand.

Thanks for posting.

I'd like to see some more photos he actually took but are not of himself. If there's any more left. And at least a few of the family shots.

I think we can admit many of us have a lot of (shitty) selfies saved somewhere, so nothing wrong with that, but I think we can also agree that its not the proper content for a photobook made to publish. Even more so, not under the titel "What I see" because this implies "All I see is myself."

>>3511831
>we stopped just to take pictures because it was such an awesome landscape
as someone who is bored by photographing landscape and prefering portrait this picture is understandable but 1. its not shot by himself 2. could have used the scenery much better.

All in all his photos are mostly snapshits, which doesnt matter, as long as he has fun taking them and likes them, but nothing to expect people to pay for.

He was growing up when he took most of the photos, hopefully he's now growing his skills, talent is not something we see here.

they really are very low tier instagram quality. I felt the whole book was so he could show it to girls and subtly show them he's good looking and 'artsy'.

The intention of the book is very far from showcasing photography or a subject, and like another anon said, 'what i see' is more like 'All I see is myself'.

Very self absorbed garbage. Later when I post the family picstures the tone changes a fair bit, since those are the only collection of pictures that I can say had real intention and thought behind them. Aside from very few pictures, all are snapshitty and vapid.

>Collective Claims It Has Found New Evidence Linking Kanders to Violence in Gaza – The activist collective Forensic Architecture has become the latest to withdraw their work from the Whitney Biennial in protest of the museum’s board vice chair Warren Kanders. The move comes after a member of the collective discovered a bullet in Gaza used against Palestinians that he says appears to have been made by Sierra Bullets, a weapons manufacturer partially owned by Kanders. Forensic Architecture’s Whitney work, Triple-Chaser (2019), is a video that aims to explore how weapons produced by Kanders’s company Safariland are used around the world. “What may have started as the ‘Tear Gas Biennial’ is now the ‘Sierra Bullet Biennial,’” a member of Forensic Architecture said. (Hyperallergic)
The best part is if you follow the links, you see a picture of the bullet, and it's an unfired bullet...

This is what a fired bullet looks like. So if the "researcher" found that bullet in Palestine, either the Jews are throwing bullets at the Palestinians or the real logical conclusion would be that the Palestinians have somehow got their hands on hollow points and are firing them at the Jews.

What's also interesting is most all of Sierra's rifle hollow points have to be loaded longer than standard ammo. This means that even if you can load them into the magazine, the rifle won't feed them, so you'll have to put them in one at a time.

The tragic part is that he will never get any better because no one will ever tell him that he’s shit. Imagine living that kind of life, where no one can be honest enough with you to tell you that maybe you should take some lessons or something before you put out a book. I mean he’s got so much going for him in terms of his upbringing and whatever. But just imagine not having a single friend that will look you in the eyes and tell you that your photos kinda suck. It must be an abstract kind of hell.
>>
>>3512216
But he does get better by the end of the book. Kid can definitely get better.

I met this lad at college a long time ago, angry teen and a "painter". He was a bit of a dickhead so I avoided him.

About five years later I bumped into him (he was living in the same street as me). We hung out a bit but his painting had actually got worse and he was even more of a dickhead. I ended up accidentally stealing his life as "the painter" amongst other things. Over a few drunken nights I tried to explain why it was all going to shit. He moved away not long after.

Ten years passed and I met him again a couple of times. Now he was verging on being human scum. He looked me in the eye and said "thank you for telling me my painting was shit". He's an angry, ginger, out of control tosser. He wasn't being sarcastic or ironic.

Some people cannot be helped, all you can do is tell them the truth.

Kinda disappointing. Some shit, some quality, way too much random averageness for what was hyped. It's like a random thread on /p/, except it's got a lot of images. One thing's for sure, he got a shitty editor. Spacing, design and blurb selection for this book is way worse than the content. Should have been much shorter, with selected highlights, properly formatted, and you'd be able to present him as a good photographer to the public. The way it is, it's as if it was self published, or that editor hated the kid, or that he was just completely incompetent.

>>
>>3512524
UV filters negatively impact image quality on digital cameras. Any time you introduce more glass, you degrade image quality and add more chance of lens flare. So outside of film where UV filters are important, it's best to avoid them. Use a lens hood or cap instead.
>>
>>3512524
A lens cap actually provides some protection. A UV filter doesn't.
>>
>>3511812
Yes. Absolutely we can.
>>
>>3512583
No, we can't. This is just how juveniles are.
>>
>>3512535
>not using both lens hood and filter
You can't live the one you have with you lifestyle if you have to be scared for your lens.
>>
>>3512535
>So outside of film where UV filters are important
Not even that. UV is absorbed almost completely by glass, you need special quartz lens elements to allow it to pass. So a normal multi element lens takes care of UV almost completely. (UV contribution might be 10 stops or more lower than the normal exposure in intensity).
So a “UV” filter doesn’t do anything more than simple glass, or using a lens with an extra element.

And lastly, most films (especially colour ones) have a UV mask in the emulsion filtering stray UV light, and even the B&W ones are more careful with their sensitization and don’t extend into the uv spectrum much, as they used to. Maybe an old style orthochromatic emulsion might, but not most films commonly used.

Long story short, “UV” filters are useless on film too. They’re so useless, that filters that actually did something to cut UV and produce a visible effect, the manufacturers would advertise them as “anti haze” or “skylight” etc., to differentiate them from useless “uv” ones.
>>
>>3512611
You do know that most of the reason lenses are so expensive is that they're smothered in coatings that protect against scratches and damage, right? So buying a UV filter is almost always completely pointless, ESPECIALLY the cheap chink shit $5 ones most of /p/ uses. They're made of horrible uncoated glass which hurt the quality of your images. Just don't bother, it's a scam.

>>3512613
I know, only expensive filters are worth a damn for film and beyond pointless for digital. It's sad to see this UV filter scam spread on /p/. It's as much of a scam as gold plated HDMI cables. And the chinks know it too. They must be laughing all the way to the bank selling shit worthless glass to paranoid photogs.
>>
>>3512611
Literally the only two actual uses for a uv filter is completing weather sealing on lenses that needs it to be weather sealed and to give you a way to easily get back to clean glass (one time) if there's shit like mud flying by taking it off.

Otherwise it does literally nothing. There's zero protection as they take so much less force to break than it does to scratch your objective lens it's like putting a piece of cardboard over a bulletproof vest then pretending that the cardboard is doing anything but costing you extra money.
>>
>>3512618
>it's like putting a piece of cardboard over a bulletproof vest then pretending that the cardboard is doing anything but costing you extra money.
Based, awesome way to put it.

It seems like nobody likes to be parted with their money more than the average photographer. The amount of snake oil bullshit out there is as bad as the gym supplement industry. I know I blew a ton of cash on useless crap early on before I slowly learned my lesson.
>>
>generous person buys book and posts shots from it for shits and giggles
>/p/ argues about filters
>>
>>3512620
Nobody is arguing. Pretty much everyone knows UV filters are snake oil bullshit except a handful of clueless newfags.

OP seems to have run out of material to post so there's nothing to discuss now.
>>
>>3512624
>UV filters are snake oil
this

However; when I got my x100 the lens arrangement looked very vulnerable to abuse. Not the glass but the focusing mechanism, it looked like a good knock to the front element could fuck up the motor/gears.

I did the hack where you smash a cheap uv filter and screw a good one on to it. I hardly ever use it but in a riot situation or shit flinging fest it will protect the lens/mech. Also the hack option still works with the case, the expensive fujifilm adapter doesn't.

Last time I bought a new prime lens the sales pitch for a uv filter was a bit embarrassing for me and the sales guy...
>>
>>3512624
>there's nothing to discuss now.

Nobody is arguing your stupidities, because you're only one being a stupid dick by having stupid tech monologues in a good thread. And what you're saying is bullshit anyway. If you wish you can take your nonsense to sqt.
>>
>>3512648
Agreed. There's a gear thread for shit like this to be discussed. How the fuck are UV filters related to that photobook? Look at the mirror selfies, the guy doesn't use a filter.
>>
>>3512618
I literally only use it because I can be less careful when quickly cleaning my lenses knowing I'm not fucking the front element up if I have to while shooting outside (saltwater splash etc)

The whole dropping it or bumping it is not even an issue since sony decided to use aluminum rings in their autofocus motors which in some gmaster lenses actually hold the heaviest elements (why they did this is for weight and attempting to make it smaller is my guess. Dropping my camera 2 feet or less off the ground or quickly bumping into something wont shatter the lens but it can warp the ring which can brick a lens just as bad as shattering the front element.
>>
>>3512652
Sounds like you got a shit lens. Report it to the gear thread.
>>
>>3512649
If you actually bothered to read the thread you'd see that someone made a post asking why Beckham is using a lens cap instead of a lens filter >>3512524. That's why we're talking about it. Since UV filters on digital cameras are snake oil for retards.

There is no discussion at all, you somehow think that if you repeat your nonsense argument ten time it'll have validity. Whatever was in discussion was answered in two posts right at the start, yet you keep repeating same exact things for ten posts after that, like some crazy expert that will save everyone ten years of his life, if you're listened to. That's a sure way to kill any thread, and something you should hang for.

It's always fucking gearfags, I mean start a filter thread if you wish to shitpost same two moronic posts into infinity until it's full. I'm sure you'll find like minded moron that will argue with you.
>>
There are some more pictures, since I haven't shared the family pics. I'll share some more when I get to my computer.

Meanwhile... Yeah, filters....
>>
>>3512800
I wasn't repeating it ten times, it was a conversation between me and maybe two or three other anons, some of them known namefags. So you basically burst into the middle of a conversation and shouted that there's one person ranting about UV filters which is just your retarded perception of events that you're seeing because you're buttblasted that you wasted money on snake oil filters.

For reference

Was me. So about quarter of them. Y'know, like a real conversation where people talk back and forth about a subject. Faggot.
>>
>>3512800
Look at you continuing to not discuss the images!

Fact of the matter is that there's nothing to discuss with them. Maybe in a decade or so he'll do something interesting, but yeah I guess. They're pictures. For fuck's sake retard, you want to talk about them and all you could come up with is "YOU DON'T LAY OUT A PICTURE ACROSS THE FOLD".

>That's a sure way to kill any thread, and something you should hang for.
No it's not you aspie. Organic conversations bounce from topic to topic. I don't know about the other anons talking about the filters, but I'd said all I wanted to say. We were done. Then you come in and spas out over nothing, and look at where we're at. Look at what you've done to the conversation by not just saying what you wanted to about the pictures.
>>
>>3512848
I'd appreciate them. They're amongst the better ones.

Can we put together a Brooklyn Beckham Photo Challenge? Like we can put together a list of 10 photo scenarios found in his book, like this one for example >>3512060 one photo taken at a skatepark. And then have people pick five scenarios that they want to shoot to prove that they're a better photographer than Brooklyn Beckham.
>>
The pictures that are cut and obliterated by the spine of the book are always upsetting. Whoever made that design choice should be shot.
>>
>>3513014
Sure you show us how it's done

So not to sound jelly but this kind of reminds me of the big ass Kubrick photography book in that when you get access to certain places due to prestige you can get nice shots. This kid is a son of celebs...you think anyones going to confront this shit when hes up in your face taking photos? Unlike Kubrick however he has no fucking talent...some of the better photos were taken by other people...fuck even posh spice can frame better than this lil cunt. Anyway..hilarious thread. Thanks OP!

Can't bash that pic. I can that waterfall nonsense. What I find interesting is that he's getting these headlines of being completely clueless, but he is constantly using correct apertures. No bokehwhoring nonsense. Framing is all over the place, and he's extremely inconsistent with lighting and subjects, and overall very average and naive. But he must have picked few quality tips from someone quite early on.

His family pics are really much much better. Guess he's just much better in shooting portrait then anything else (and fuck his stupid selfies)
>>
I'll never understand why you guys get such a rise out of low quality cringe shit. It doesn't inspire me at all.

I think he might literally have assburgers. It would explain why he's shit at taking photos of strangers but does an okay job shooting his own family.

Publishing a book is not that hard. You can do it yourself.

He's being talked about because his father is famous, not because he's any good. That's a whole different discussion.
