He's nothing remarkable right now at all, just a kid with an interest in photography. Never deserved the Burberry gig, and still doesn't deserve the magazine covers he's still somehow getting to shoot because of his elite family and their connections. He's a kid from the upper class. If you had the opportunity to exploit those connections you would too. Kid's still 20 though and he's only been doing this for a few years. Hopefully he doesn't take the easy way out and trade an opportunity to improve his work for just sitting back and letting mom throw fashion shoots his way.

The faggot doesn't know how to take a photo, there is absolutely no integrity to this photo. If some "artsy artist" took this photo they would of at least made the composition better and make the outline of the elephant you know.. actually look like and elephant and not some black blob.
Absolutely no integrity.

In this day and age it literally does. It doesn't apply to him because his celebrity parentage already supersedes his instagram celebrity status. But any other photographers doing those kinds of numbers means they'll be highly sought after by people who want to hire them for their work.

I mean, imagine a pair of trust fund zoomers wanting to hire a wedding photographer. If they had the choice of hiring a no name wedding photographer with 30 years of experience who consistently churns out solid work, or hiring fucking Peter McKinnon, who do you think they would rather hire? The answer is Peter McKinnon by the way.

Of course this only applies to the upper echelon of instagram photographers with 50k+ followers, so I can understand how /p/ can look at their measly 200 followers and come to the conclusion that instagram followers could never translate to anything of substantial value.

I'm saying just because a photo has a lot of "likes" doesn't make it universally good or suited to everyones tastes. More often than not yes a popular photographer with many followers has some "merit" but you also have to consider what the target audience or intent with the images is. i.e. Kim K's ass shots get millions of likes but this does not inherently make her a better photographer or artist than the local artist who gets a few thousand per post.
>>
>>3504317
Kim Kardashian’s ass is literally a work of art you fucking philistine.

I also admire that of all industries he's trying to make it in he picks photography, and then interns with Rankin, sure he got it through nepotism but it's hardly like a leading london fashion studio like that will be at all easy. the kid could've just gone into 'acting' and made bank that way. wouldn't have had to put up with shit from anyone other than critics either

since i delved into browsing more art books and following curation blogs, i have learned that a large portion of established photogs have little social media presence
fucking leibovitz doesn't have insta
neither did half of the "upcoming young artists" list by moma
among my own followings, there are 3 people who only get 1/10ths of likes of a typical lifestyle insta photogs, but I know they reg shoot for very good fashion mags

it's strange to see every now and then people mistaking insta as metric of any accuracy, when it's only a bubble for a certain demo, one of many of marketing channels at best

It’s just a kid getting into a hobby and having fun.

The fact that he gets exposure and gigs and whatnot for being an average joe with a hobby shouldn’t make you mad at the kid. But you should be mad at the fucked up star system and in general the “caste” system (caste defined by wealth and fame), where if you’re in the upper caste you can do pretty much anything regardless of skill or hard work and still end up in far better position than someone working their ass off from a lower caste.
Money makes money, and it’s actually the best and most efficient way to make money. That’s all there is to it.

What every Canadian thinks of Justin Trudeau as he talks down to us.
>>
I don’t get why people keep trying to defend his shitty photos.

>but anon he’s just a baby trying to get into a hobby
No he’s not. He’s 20, he’s a grown ass adult who is trying to make this into a career. If you want to make art professionally, people are going to criticize your work. Especially if you’ve been doing photography since you were 14, had every opportunity to learn from industry professionals, and use the latest and greatest equipment, yet you still haven’t improved your work even a little bit from where you started 6 whole ass years ago.

>he’s from a wealthy family, what do you expect?
It really seems like he has interests, but the second he realizes that being good at that interest will take some hard work, he either quits or decides he’s fine being mediocre as long as he doesn’t have to work hard. And mommy and daddy don’t try to instill in him a work ethic or sense of pride in what you do.

I mean look at Jacques Henri Lartigue. He was from a rich family and started photography at young age too. The difference is, Lartigue actually cared about what he was creating and ended up producing some nice photos because of it.

I’m not mad about Lartigue because he took the opportunities he was given and chose to grow and improve. I guess I’m just mad about Brooklyn Beckham because he squanders away all these great opportunities and chooses to stay mediocre. It just seems like a waste.
>>
>https://www.instagram.com/p/BydVCjkFg2h/ >https://www.instagram.com/p/BlqZYGzD1p1/

>>3503718 and >>3503719 are really bad though. Pretentious and garbage..
>>
>>3507457
they seem fine probably because others did the lighting already and he's just there to spray the shutter
while those "art photos" he took on his own look like shit because clearly he doesn't know how to operate a camera beyond auto-focus auto-exposure mode

i bet he's a lazy ass who took up photography because he thinks it just needs "creativity" and doesn't require learning anything
