>>3477579If I just joined Instagram, I'd be impressed, in fact when I had like a year ago yours was one of the first accounts I'd seen and I was like wow, this is really good, but after a year I can't say I feel the same way, I live in Cape Town South Africa, and there's so much accounts from local photographers with these clear, colorful, well composed photos and they mean Fuckall to me, in fact on a bad day I could actually despise an account like that. I'm sure you're a good person but there's little I find meaningful in your pictures, maybe it isn't my taste but all the colors and clarity is just superfluous, it reminds of stock photography, if that's what your'e going for well done. There is something to your nature shots, some of them, more the way you capture light. If you want advice, figure out a way to bring out the light in a more evocative way as I think its your strong suit. Maybe you're comfortable where you are and if so that's great and I envy you.>>3478156Cool landscapes, I bet they look even better on anything bigger than a mobile phone screen. The better ones are the landscapes that fit your aspect ratio IMO and the more abstracty ones . hmm I'd like to get more of a sense of you in your photo's though, like tell me a story through a photo, maybe the aspect ratio gives me a clinical impression despite it being nature shots. I guess you're very much into your technical composition? >>3476820Well yeah, I can tell you're new to photography. Your photos are IN focus, so good job. Look as long as your'e willing to learn and take risks, find your style give thought to what you want to do and don't be afraid to chuck away photo's you don't feel are right, then you'll be ok. Hope this makes sense...Good luck.As for me, I was planning on posting my account, but in writing my critiques I felt I dont want to any longer. I'm not a photographer. >>3474515I like the simplicity and the colors. >>3474527I like this one a lot in general. Just the mood all your pictures give, huge fan.>>3474640Amazing composition and use of color. Again, the pictures all have emotion which I really like.>>3474943I'll parrot what the others have said: your photography is high quality, it follows all the rules and plays really well by the book, but because of that there isn't too much "personal style" in a lot of them. You've mastered taking good photos, now I think you should really start to dive into what your own personal art/style/aesthetic is, and start going with that.>>3475106Still looking good my man>>3476093Also still looking good, love your stuff>>3476239I like your daytime photography a lot more than your night work, the day work looks a lot more crisp and has more emotion to it. The night work looks a little less refined (which is understandable because good night photography is incredibly difficult)>>3476329Big fan of the nature and outdoors stuff>>3476521I really love the consistency and theme here, great use of low contrast and high brightness, sometimes I feel like that's something that can be overdone, but you seemed to hit the right spot.>>3476820In my opinion a lot of your photos are a little oversaturated. If you use lightroom, often a general rule of thumb is to slide to -10 on your saturation bar as a pretty standard place to start. Your pictures aren't bad, you clearly have a nice camera and know how to use it, but like I told someone earlier, the next step is developing a sense of style so that your pictures have "feeling" to them. A lot of beginners take pictures that pretty much look like generic stock photos, which is to say they are high quality photos, but lack a certain level or artistic style or creativity to them. That usually comes with time and practice though, so stay with it and you'll be alrightMine is:https://www.instagram.com/turquoisebindle/

>>3478584Thanks for the support
>>3478599The biggest advice I would give you is that since phones are pretty shit quality (in terms of raw image quality) you need to dedicate entirely to framing, composition, and just interesting subjects/scenes/light/etc.I really like the moss picture.
>>3479888Thanks man that's what I was feeling. the biggest problem I'm having is distance. If anything is further than a few feet away you need to start cropping like mad and you start to see the weakness of the lense.
>>3479917Yeah unfortunately phone cameras just weren't meant for that, so that's going to be an issue you run into. I'd honestly recommend saving your money and getting a DSLR, some of the entry levels are pretty good. I cut my teeth on a Nikon D5600 that came with 2 lenses. Really something to consider if you consider this to be a lasting hobby.

>>3478584Thanks, dude. Pleasure seeing you around still too. Always enjoy your shots of people. You capture personality really well; I've always thought of that as more of a "when" than a "what" to shoot deal.
>>3480297>Always enjoy your shots of peopleThanks man, I really love taking portraits. And yeah what I've noticed is that people (myself included) tend to be really bad at posing for pictures. You can just tell it looks staged/awkward, and so most of my best shots are as they are "getting ready for the pose" or talking to other people. Hit me up with a DM, I have a separate account that is pretty much all portraits.
someone want to redpill me on optimising hash tags? I don't know how to use them or what they are for and I don't want to look like a boomer using them wrong.
>>3481899hash tags are gay
>>3482737so was ur sister after i was done with her
>>3482737I know that's why I don't use them but it seem like I'm leaving views on the table
>>3474467>I'm not a huge fanBut you're still a fan, then, you autist.
>>3481899Ideally you want to use lesser used hashtags otherwise your post gets lost in the sea of posts using the same general tags
>>3483008if I wanted to see impact font memes I'd be on reddit or twitter
>>3476521>Nice frames, real clean.I was thinking about clearing my profile and reuploading everything over a period of time with frames and better organization. Any reason not to do that?https://www.instagram.com/athw.art/>>3475773I don't see the appeal of blurry snaps.>>3475162You suffer from the same problem I do. Too much fragmentation. I think people don't dig through profiles like that.
Some of the pics are just memes or shit so don't mind those pls
Is facebook still a thing?
>>3483478it's for 30 yo boomers to post political rants and photos of their kids
https://www.instagram.com/jassse_mPretty much just landscapes and nature shit, run of the mill. My mom says I'm good at least!>>3474467Was never a huge fan of portraits but I actually really like these, good composition.>>3474520A lot of varied stuff on your profile which I really like. Well done.>>3474527Half of this shit I would have never thought to take a photo of, it blows my mind when people like you take photos of such generic things but still make them work so well. Hope you had fun on that trip to Alberta.>>3474575I love your B&W photos, the rest of it is kind hit or miss for me. Also, get rid of that fucking photo you took from the plane window, I despise those.>>3474898Good composition and colours. If I were you, I'd try experimenting with those night shots. Lower the exposure and go for something a bit darker/moodier. Just a suggestion.>>3475066I really like a lot of these. Especially that shot looking down the road with the parked cars and that one of the subway. Definitely sets a mood. >>3476239As someone said earlier, the daytime stuff works/looks a lot better than the night stuff, but keep practicing with the night stuff anyhow.
